We just have our priorities reversed in this country. You want to embark on a journey rather than make necessary checks you pray over it. When you have accident you then blame devil and innocent villagers for your misfortune.

ok. That is your own belief, u feel there is no God, while others feel there is God.. Why not just respect their opinion..and stop being pained about it. Its not like they are forcing u to believe. U could just pass or ignore this thread.

As for someone like me.. Despite the fact that i'm a sinner.. Nothing.. I mean nothing in this world or no explanation will convince or make me disbelieve in the Almighty Living God.

If not for the love of God, i would have been a serial killer by now..coz i know what i have been tru. But like the bible says ' vengence is mine, says the Lord, i will repay"
Whatever rocks your boat. BTW, I am not forcing my belief on anyone. I'm just speaking out because gullibility of religious people affect us all. Like people commending public officials building religious houses instead of schools, good roads etc.

There is no God! Human race made him up with our imagination and we have been defending him ever since.

Yeah, exactly what we need in Nigeria right now. We don't need schools, hospitals, good roads, clean water, jobs and other infrastructures. More prayer houses and less factories. And someone is wondering why we are so backward with soaring unemployment rate. Well, there you have it.

I did not quote you intentionally, my post was for the first guy I quoted, you should have asked if you were the one I was referring to considering there were two comments mentioned, but you preferred the juvenile path

I have already apologised in my modified quote.

PS: No be your kain people attention I dey find.
If you weren't so keen on shaming people perhaps you would have paid attention before quoting the wrong moniker. Get a life madam old cargo! You are always here on NL insulting people you know nothing about.

PRESS RELEASE
NIGERIAN AIR FORCE HELICOPTER SUFFERS MISHAP
A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Mi-17 Helicopter has suffered a mishap while undertaking a mission in the ongoing counterinsurgency operation in the North East. The incident, which occurred today, 8 January 2018, resulted in significant damage to the helicopter. There was, however, no loss of lives as a result of the incident. The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has immediately directed the constitution of a board of inquiry to determine the exact cause of the incident, in line with global best practices. The NAF continues to solicit the understanding and support of the general populace as it daily strives to ensure the security of Nigeria and Nigerians.

I just got this today, I'm sorry it looks late sort of

The information reaching us now is that the Dept of English holda *interactive session* with prospective PG students *tomorrow*.

In the last two session, there had not been anything like that. Thus, we can only pick some clues from the days when the department conducted qualifying test.

In that light, concerned persons may look into:

Category A: Language
Phonology: concept in phonetics and phonology; speech sound; stress/intonation; phonological theories

Syntax: Sentence patterns/structure/functions; phrases and clauses; tense/aspect/mood; grammar traditions (TGG, SFG, CG...)

Pragmatics/Discourse analysis: concepts; theories (speech act, ethnography, conversational implicature...)

Stylistics

Sociolinguistics/multinligualism...

Just recall general knowledge of what you learnt/were supposed to have learnt in your undergraduate days.

Category B: Literature
Literary concepts

Literary genres

Literary theories (structuralism, psychoanalysis, feminism, Negritudism...)

Poets with their works (African/non African)

Novelists with their works (African/non African)

Playwrights with their works (African/non African)

A_jet dumb bomd air strike......or MRLS which do you all this is more effective?
I guess both are really effective but if MRLS rockets are properly complemented cum guided with/by an eye in the sky, such as surveillance drone or aircraft, they can be very effective. They are fast to deploy too.

Here is another. The thumbnail of a news claiming that ships laden with petroleum products and food will dock in Lagos shows US warships. Please, since when did US warships start bringing petroleum products and food to Nigeria?

Car Talk › Correction To A Previous Post That Graced NL Front-page Earlier. by Xbee007(op):
I just want to point out some errors in a post that recently made Front-page on Nairaland. I had ignored it earlier when I saw it on Vanguard website.
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/01/photos-innosons-military-vehicles/
In the post, pictures of some Infantry Fighting Vehicles, IFVs were posted that the author claimed were produced by Innoson. However, a little investigation shows that the pictures were actually taken from Proforce's website. I mocked the post thinking that journalism has gone to a new low in Nigeria while hoping that Nigerians will see beyond the error. However, most people didn't. Journalists no longer do proper research and investigation before writing for the gullible public.
The end result is that the masses are filled with wrong and misleading information. I was shocked and dissapointed when same pictures made it to NL.

Newshelm, the black Armored Fighting Vehicle is actually Proforce product. Please don't misinform the public. I know the pics were gotten from Vanguard website.

No hope at all for Nigerian journalists. It's funny, annoying and frustrating at the same time. Do they even bother to research at all?
They don't know the difference between Innoson and proforce.

Vanguard always does that. They bring poor journalism to a shameful new level.
