Tinubu 2023

Tinubu 2023.

He is doing all this to Lagos and Southwest and yet no one make it your family until they go to that same Lagos. You urgently need brain, Tinubu obsession will kill most of you.
In a multi ethnic country like nigeria, for what actually is the turn of another southern tribe about the size of the yorubas, your people are celebrating and praising what appears to be a Grand act of tribal supremacism, tribal bigotism. Killing any chance this nation has at breeding citizens that are truly nationalistic or patriotic. Allowing these selfish and greedy politicians to set yoruba people up for legitimate generational hatred by other southern nigerian tribes while yet again doubling down on the already known belief that this country is more or less a jungle where nothing counts or matters.

We already know that having a Yoruba president does not and will not change the life of the average yoruba man, rather his friends and immediate family only enrich themselves. However we all as nigerians lose when we miss an opportunity to bring us together, an opportunity at nation building, at making steps towards true nationalism and having citizens that truly feel that they matter and we are going somewhere.

I hope learned and high IQ yorubas start speaking out now, silence is culpability. Truly no one nigerian tribe is better than the other. We are all fxcked within these walls. We have to be making steps towards the right direction, dont let these greedy politicians fool you by invoking tribal sentiments, we all know they honestly dont care about tribe, they are only after their selfish interest.

Atleast the hausas were honest and good enough to rotate the presidency down south. Nothing good can come off taking or bullying yourself off another tribes turn.

Btw, $15 for a kilo of meat? You are suffering in Russia for real..
I always see your responses to Nigerians who are trying to leave this country. You mock them for being unpatriotic for trying to leave and yet every other post I see you and that FreestuffNG and other trolls posting tribal supremacists comments, and Right of the Yorubas to control and Dominate the entire southern nigeria. One can only wonder where you get definition of Patriotism from? You think its everyone that wants their children and grandchildren to be stuck in the same country with bigots like you?

For the record by posting those tribal supremacists views you are not only painting yoruba people in a bad light you are also setting yoruba people up for hatred from other southern nigerian tribes. You are not patriotic rather you and the people that normally like your tribalistic and supremacist comments are the true enemies of nigeria.

We are getting there gradually. Haters can continue to call the news a joke, it makes no difference. They will keep spewing gibberish online until someone from the South west is sworn in as president next year May.

Our aim is a southern president of Yoruba extraction and we shall get. Tinubu, Osinbajo, Fayemi or any other SW progressive is good to go. Any of them will do a great job as president.

Watching all of this on unfold in the news I cant help but worry about our country's future. We are sitting on a keg of gun powder, War looks like something that is inevitable in Nigeria in the not so distant future, because firstly we are not united in our patriotism for this country, and we are happy with tribal domination and tribal gloating without thinking about the consequences and the hatred we are sowing in one another, Finally these old and selfish politicians who have always stolen from and robbed this country are placing their personal presidential ambitions over the sanctity of this nation and throwing away our ability to truly engage in nation building. These satanic and wicked politicians have no problems hiding behind tribal cloak to pit us against ourselves so we are blinded by tribe and not their true intention.

2023 and the events leading to it is a very important time for Nigeria, we have to get it right otherwise we are all truly screwed.

Russia with all its ammunition believed the taking and control of Ukraine would be a walk in the park, forgetting that the greatest resource any country or entity can have is their human resource next after that is their WILL to fight. Conquering and controlling a nation of 40 million people can never be beans,

TOLERANCE BECOMING A CRIME

1. Why do we hate Tinubu?
What for?

2. Tinubu never worked with federal or Eastern Nigeria let alone stealing money from Ndi Igbo.
He never worked as Minister or taken any Federal Appointment!

3. He never joined APGA let alone sabotaging our Party's interest?

4. Tinubu didn't meddle in Igbo internal affairs either!

5. Why do we call him thief?
What did he steal?

I see how you pitch nigerian tribes online against themselves then slowly but cleverly attempt to switch sides when ever the discussion allows you to do so.

You couldnt possibly be nigerian, im getting more of a foreign agent vibe from you. Someone who does not want anything good to befall this country.

You didn't answer my question.....
If you say IYC and co are just a political organisation, are you also saying the Ikwerres n etche people are members of IYC??
How do you identify na Ijaw man generally?? It starts with the names they bear.
Don't confuse yourself if I see myself as Ijaw to you knowing the Ijaws of Bayelsa.
We are one.
No sane man or woman from bonny will tell you he is Ibo.
Even the ibos here trying very hard to annex these towns know that they can't win over the people to accept their rubbish.

You people calling the Opobo man whatever changes nothing. Be bold to state where you come from.
Stop hiding behind your comments. Or are you scared they will say you are Ibo too.
Good morning
I didnt say the INC or IYC are political organisations, I said they started off as political organisations, They were pressure groups, if not for the war my people had with Okrika people, even we would have joined in. Rivers state is divided politically between the upland and riverland dichotomy, the people who were joining the INC or IYC are riverland people who had massive oil exploration going on in their place. Etche and Ikwerre are not in that group.

So the Okrikans have always maintain their ijaw heritage right from time? So why are the Igbos Especially that Eastlink who claims to be from River's state fighting so hard that there are no ijaws In Rivers State? While you as an Ogoni from Rivers State, knows that there are ijaws in River's state. And Okrika people are one of the ijaws there.
I hope that all you guys who are reading my input see that I try to stand on a neutral balance and give my opinion based on what i believe is factual and my real life conversations with people from these areas.

The thread is about Bonny and Opobo why rope Okrika into it...What I said was right, the indigenous people of Okrika have always maintained that they are ijaws, however it is also fair to state that about more than half of the people who reside in Okrika today are children of igbo and ikwerre descendants that walked into Okrika land and became naturalized. But then Ijaw people have an adopt and naturalization culture which has been practised from days of slave trade until today, if person moves to ijaw land and is a contributing and peaceful member of the society, they are accepted, naturalized and treated as an ijaw citizen. So those igboid people who migrated and naturalized there doesnt change the fact that the Okrika people are Ijaws. I dont think any sound Igbo person who is aware of rivers history that would say Okrika is igbo.
PoliticsRe: 1001 Reasons Why Bonny Indigenous People Will Never Abandon Igbo For Ijaw by Xbobtage: 4:03pm On Feb 24, 2022

If you claim to be rivers, then you shud know that bonny n Opobo people are Ijaws.
I am from Opobo n I am Ijaw. I am not Ibo.
So the girl you met telling you she is just rivers does not know her heritage or history.
Are you saying there are no Ijaws in rivers state.
How come we have IYC n INC but no Ibo socio cultural group
You are not from rivers state. Stop lying
My friend the IYC and the INC started off as a Political Organizations, most of the communities in Rivers State that Joined were dragged in to garner support for resource control, up to this day most of the people in some of those communities are unaware that they are called ijaws and being used as prop numbers /boundary strength for a purpose that they may not be completely on board with.

Are you truly from opobo and not nkoro? Because the way the people who are actually from Opobo town and Nkoro feel about this issue is different, same as the way the people from Bonny town and finima feel about the issue differs/

If you are truly from Opobo and you currently identify yourself as ijaw then that is okay, and nobody should bully you or force you to say that you are not. But if you meet another Opobo town man who identifies himself as an igbo man or as simply an Opobo man, then you should also be willing to accept that persons opinion of themselves, because honestly speaking Opobo has both ijoid any igbo history and it should be understandable to any sane person that a person from opobo might strongly identify as igbo or ijaw or just choose to stay neutral.

The only clan in rivers state that has always maintained 100% that they are ijaws from time immemorial are the Okrika People, In the 80s and early 90s alot of Kalabari people never accepted that they were ijaws, its now that alot more of them are coming around. Opobo People and Bonny are honestly still split on this issue up to now.

I understand that you might find my comment offensive depending on how passionate you are about your ijawness. But i havent said anything unrealistic or offensive. My advice to the INC is to not make the same mistake the igbos made in the 60s by thinking every easterner was ok with being labelled igbo and was ready to die for their cause, without the igbos first doing proper consultation.

What the INC does now is dash big vehicles to any youth leader from any clan that they claim is Ijaw so they can continue drawing these maps, Rather I will advice the Bayelsa state Government to finance some sort of census and campaign in these communities to identify whether they identify themselves as ijaw and would be happy in a Homogenous Ijaw Republic should that ever be the case. The exercise should be done with neutral external monitors and the results should be published on the INC website, this will help the narrative and public opinion as to whether those communities are fully with ijaw. Im a proper rivers man, from flying kites in bishop johnson primary school to launching the first Mr biggs in Ph at Agree Road, to visiting Santa at Isaac Boro Park, Back when P/H na P/H, and listening to Bomo Erokosima jokes on the Radio...My people call Opobo people nkem nke gi people, if you are truly from opobo, then you know where Im from by just that statement.

Rivers people have truly become one set of unique people, we sabi chop two sides clean mouth - no time!, that is why when Obi Wali was splitting Rivers State so it would have only been upland people in it, Nembe people think sey Okrika and Kalabari people go follow them enter bayelsa after campaigning with them...No time! Kalabari and Okrika still dey rivers state/ Even though they know it will be difficult to rule the state. governor is only one way to look at the issue, other geopolitics is also at play. We like to eat our cake and have it. Even though we now know for most parts which parts of rivers state is igboid and which is Ijoid, truth be told in DNA most Rivers People have Benin, Igbo and Ijoid Origin, If anyone is willing to pay us we will take their money and enjoy ourselves. When they are serious about restructuring or dividing the country come and ask us again maybe then, we go take una seriously.

continue canceling facts, na your Destiny you dey cancel so.

do you even know the meaning of enculturation? (in ancient times)
shedrach meshac and Abednego were hananiah azariah and Azazel.

it is an age long practice done mostly on captives of war or slaves bought and owned.
even the Brits did it; renaming slaves brought into the Americas all over again.
you'll see names like Kunta-Kinte renamed to Toby
Nneka renamed to Ahneeka, jiugba renamed to juba.
enculturation in ancient Africa meant denouncing your old self before gods and men and that was what okwarazurumba mbanaso did when he was renamed Jubo jubogha, and when he became a free man, he remained in the delta, took indigenous wives, learned the language when he could have EASILY returned to Amaigbo.

SECONDLY
THE 14 HOUSES THAT CAME WITH JAJA were never Igbo houses. Bonny had 21 houses, and out of the 21, 14 came with him, out of the 14; 2 were directly his, the other 12 were indigenous OKOLOMA houses.

THIRDLY
Opobo(OPUBO-AMA) founded in 1870 was never a virgin land. you are daft I swear. it was formerly a Bonny military Outpost formerly known, owned and called Idonkontoro by the Andoni's whom the Bonny people fought and took it from them in 1442. Jaja had to write to the British crown who informed the Okoloma people to let him stay there, so do not stay in your house at abakiliki and say what you don't know. I am 101% sure you haven't been to Port Harcourt in your entire life not to even talk of entering the Niger delta. you don't know all this things above and you say I am ignorant of Bonny and Opobo history. itibolibo!
do you even know after the death of Jaja, a long line of regents from Bonny including the perekule council of chiefs ruled Opubo-amahuh?
right you don't know.

FOUTHLY
did you just say OKOLO-AMA means curlew town in Igbohuh
blood of Jesus you are a dangerous liar! and you will burn in hell!
you are even denying your Language for cheap nairaland lies.
I am very fluent in Igbo, and I've lived, schooled, worked around Igbo land for over 10years.
TOWN IN IGBO IS OBODO!
bloody liar!
you will burn in hell for lieng!
and for denying your Language, your ancestors will deny you.
get out from here!
Watching two nigerian tribes claim superiority is like watching watching two people with down syndrome and each trying to claim they are the smarter one.

Since both Opobo and Bonny share a great deal of igbo and ijaw heritage why cant the people of both towns be allowed to celebrate their hybrid culture and origin. How fair is it for them to completely throw away one...Why try to rewrite their history just so you can say they are ijaws when we all know its not. They can be both Ijaw and igbo and be loved by others, just like the swiss are french and german...Why create an enemy out of igbo people by trying to erase the igbo history of the place.

And to correct you, an igbo friend of mine years ago told me Ama means city centre in igbo language.

I had a short relationship with a Bonny girl two years ago, and when I asked her about what her opinion of what she was is, she said Look Im a rivers girl, and when I said but rivers is not a tribe, she said, I have heard some people say that Bonny is ijaw, but I am from Bonny, not finima or others, calling me Ijaw is not correct, if you dont want to call me a Rivers woman, then call me a Bonny woman. So you see, she didnt accept that she was Ijaw, but she didnt say she was igbo either. I swear on the life of my children that the above bolded sentence is truly what happened. I have also met an Opobo pastor who tried to explain that his people are ndoki people and ndoki are not really igbos and when asked if he was ijaw, he said NO. But he runs an igbo church with only igbo/ikwerre congregation, giving visions in igbo language etc

At OP, why not state your facts without insulting an entire tribe of people, and I can tell you that not all ijaws agree or want a confrontation with igbo people over territorial issues, actually most ijaw people dont want that.

It is not by making an igbo man the president that would solve the problems in Nigeria, it is by electing a selfless leader who will turn things around.
We don't care what tribe the person is coming from.
The question is, do the igbo people care? That is what should matter to you. This is a major tribe in the country we are talking about here.

How do we start a conversation about saving nigeria and building and creating tomorrows patriots without talking about the fact that a major tribe of this country is crying about being sidelined in national issues...Doing that would be like a person talking about being serious about Good self health and wellness but every night they drink excessively and risk destroying their liver.

I don't think any serious investor would want to invest in any sector of nigeria that could be impacted by secession of igbos,( but ironically that is all sectors) because truly if they leave, the country would will eventually break into all the pieces of what it could be.

And by throwing away the opportunity to fix this issue in 2023 we would be walking past a crossroad of an opportunity that might never comeback.

Intelligent high IQ Nigerians, know that what I am saying is the truth, but those blinded by hate, bigotry, and ambitions would never see past those walls.

Yorubas Are The Problem With Nigeria – By Lamido Sanusi

In sum, the Yoruba political leadership, as mentioned by Balarabe Musa, has shown itself over the years to be incapable of rising above narrow tribal interests and reciprocating goodwill from other sections of the country by treating other groups with respect. Practically every crisis in Nigeria since independence has its roots in this attitude.

MrMaestro:
Definitely in agreement. That’s the silver lining with the Tinubu campaign. 3 weeks into him declaring candidacy has already awoken thousands of Yorubas on the hatred the igbos have for them. His candidacy will wake millions more before it’s over. I already see it gaining steam on Twitter.
Interesting!!! So the Video of Tinubus wife saying openly < we dont trust igbo people > in 2018, didnt trigger any awakening??

Look Im having a slow day at work so Im going to kill some time by pouring out some of my thoughts. I am not igbo but since this a conversation about southern Unity, I go chuk mouth,

I agree with the op, the Yorubas are better of in an alliance with the NW and pretty much Hausa/fulani than the rest of the south. We have known this for years thats why many tribes in the south are asking for a referendum so that the fate of the country can be decided, others can leave and the yorubas and the hausa/fulanis can finally have a monogamous national bliss together in one nation.

Look I had a conversation with a yoruba Kabu kabu driver that usually supplies me diesel last week and he was bragging about how the yorubas are the smartest and most sophisticated nigerian tribe, and how they sophisticatedly gamed nigerians by voting in Buhari so that he can hand over to Tinubu a yoruba man when he is done. For the record few minutes earlier he was complaining about how the price of everything was going up and the country has become unbearable for him and his family.

I say sho, and I was looking at this fast talking man with his dirty slippers and his destroyed 1993 volkswagen jetta.

In my thoughts I was like hmm these people think its sophistication when you remove a Professor in his 50s and then put in an illiterate army man who was a coupist and is in his 70s? , and the goal is so that a career old politician with a fraudulent past and gross history of corruption would come in and become president in a time when its another major nigerian tribe's turn?, and further deepen the country's unity crisis and future coexistence?

Really sophisticated indeed...

I think another similarity the OP has not talked about is that the Yorubas and the Hause/fulani are the only nigerian tribes who exist homogeneously in other countries and those countries rank as the poorest in the world. Niger, Benin, Chad, togo. etc The Yorubas and Hausa/fulanis in those countries consider their tribesman in nigeria as very lucky.

If one were to use the above countries as case example its fair to say that the yorubas and the hausa/fulabs are incapable of nation building and these people are the ones that are always ready to fight and die for nigerian unity. because they know that their people are incapable of building a country alone and want to drag the other nigerian tribes to the same fate as them.

Oh we are very sophisticated, we own lagos, but 85 percent of the infastructure and people you will meet on the gound in lagos is not of yoruba origin.

Despite all the good that nigeria has been to your people, you would rather sink this country for your own selfish good.

Oh Tinubu is like any other nigerian he has the right to contest for an Election = Err, he is not like any other Nigeria, he is the founder and owner of ACP, a notorious rigger of primary elections, him contesting means no one else gets a fair chance. And, the man removed a fellow southerner and brought this Woe of a president upon nigerians, he himself is a Bad/corrupt politician and he is contesting at a point when it is another southern tribes turn, and you want other southerners to support him? Haba! How sophisticated do you have to be understand why other southerners are not jumping on tinubus dick!

You people should not only be forming alliance in nigeria with NW, Since you people are not truly serious about nigerias unity, you should help us break this fake union so you can finally join forces and form one country with Niger, chad, togo and Benin - the Poorest of the poor in Africa and the world.

Sophisticated indeed!

Adebanjo should come and force our hands to thumbprint for Igbo then...

When people in SW were forming alliances across regions, the Igbos were cursing and insulting them calling Yorubas unprintable names over GEJ's failure and 2015 election loss. Now that the time has come for SW to reap from her alliance with North that brought in PMB, one shameless old man is there yarning dust. Na God go punish all the saboteurs of the Yoruba race, forward ever for us and backward never.

Imagine a political jobber telling a region what to do.. Am I Igbo to start with and why should I care about SE presidency? Rubbish!
At the bolded is the reason why this continent still needs another 200 years before it can be marked as a place conducive for human beings.
Since you are refusing to use your own brain to reason why you should care, let me help you.

You dont have to be igbo to care about the affairs of igbos, they are one of the three major tribes in Nigeria, If the conversation is about nigerias well being, then the opinion of igbos should matter to you as well. Because if the country starts burning you will be affected by it. Our adjudged instability as a nation is what is affecting the value of our national currency, its also why no major corporation is investing heavily in nigeria, because they believe we are headed for a split. We can never be the country that would be respected outside or treated with respect if people see that our house is unstable and burning...My friend learn to think about other peoples problem, not by purely whether or not they are your friend or brother but by starting to see if their current misadventure can turn around and affect you in a long term. Do this and you will experience a well rounded long term growth.

A Florida native whose annoying and drunkard neighbor refuses to mow the grass on his lawn took it upon himself and started mowing his neighbors lawn when the grass became too high for him to ignore. When asked by his other neighbors across the street why he mowed his neighbors lawn he said look, if I dont mow it, his lawn becomes a hiding ground for snakes who will in turn come back to bite me or other members of my family.

If we are truly going to continue to remain one country, let us start by building something called national Pride. That is the bedrock of every great nation, we cannot do this by giving over 50 million igbos a bold reason to be unpatroitic.

Alabo7978:
The obolo or Obolobolo people are ijoid.
there was an ancient dispersal following a spiritual plague hundreds of years ago.
Obolobolo use to be part of the ancient six divisions or quaters which made up the old Nembe.
(Oboloamabiri, Opubigamabiri, kalabigamabiri, olodioamabiri, onyoamabiri, Oroamabiri)

the dispersion made them to scatter and many of them went and found the present Obolo and also retaining the name. some went to kalabari, some to okrika, others were merged into the other settlements.
after a long while a small batch led by one Kala-ekule returned.

the reason they are somewhat ibibio-like is because of the ibibio influence over the many generations that followed.
same with the ijaws of ondo who have the Yoruba element in them.
Stop inventing stories to suite your skewed narrative and ill intentions.

You have it mixed up. But to educate others I'll help you out. Ijoid klans are some of the last to settle in Nigeria. With the latest resettlement for example being Kalabari to the new and current location in the late 19th century, today they will be calling that Kalabari Land ijaw land whereas the people just moved there less than 150 years ago.

The Annang/Ibibio/Efik People are older to the location than Ijaw people, so how can they be the eroding the local language when they were there earlier. It would also interest you to know that the arochukwu people and a good number of todays abians are actually annang people. The biggest Shrine in igboland during the slave trade era was the Ibini Ukpabi shrine which is an annang/ibibiod/Efik word, and the Annang people are still the kings to this day in Arochukwu.

Obololand was a major slave and slave trader depot for slaves enroute to bonny. The slave traders were Annang/ibibio/Efik, Ijaw, ogoni and ibo and the slaves were mostly ibo. The mixture of these languages is what formed the creation of the Andoni tribe. That is why today if an Ibo man listens to the Obolo man speak. he can find a lot of similar words to igbo just like people who speak Annang/Ibibio/Efik would understand a lot as well. The least input into the Obolo culture and language are the now defunct defraka people who were ijoid.

The Obolo people are a Hybrid clan, a fusion of people who were the most active in the ruling class of the Aro Confederacy which Ijaw was part of but was headed by Annang,ibibio/Efik and Ibo people. Now no one is saying that the their is nothing ijawish about the Obolo People, there are ijaw traits but its the least compared to the other tribes. How can the people with the least trait come and claim the entire land as theirs.

It would interest you to know that the Obolo people also have small traits of Benin origin. Imagine if the Benin people came to claim the whole land as Benin territory.

Mind you as we write, at least 80 percent of Obolo people do not know that their people are being claimed to be Ijaw people online otherwise their WILL be Backlash.

I called my tenant who is an Obolo woman to ask if she is an Ijaw woman and her response was "God forbid". I told her about this article and I believe she will be coming here to put an input. I know there is nothing wrong with being Ijaw, Ijaw people are people just like you have anywhere else, But when your people want to Name your new country Ijaw republic, while trickishly adding other tribes that are not ijaw and then erase other peoples tribe and languages, that is WRONG!

Even that map is setting you people for a major war with Akwaibom, Igbo and even my clan Ogoni people.

Look! your people have added my community and are calling it an Ijaw clan, Everyone of age in Rivers state knows that we have been fighting Kalabari and Okrika people for generations. I am an ogoni Man, we have nothing in common with Ijaw people in language and cultural structure. Till today in Rivers state, our people are not allowed to intermarry with Rivers Ijaws and you come out here with your fraudulent map and call our people Ijaw people?

Let me also tell you that Obolo People are not Ijaw people, everyone in rivers state knows that. The majority of them about 70% bear akwa ibom sounding names. Out of the remaining 30 percent 20 percent bear igbo names and the remaining ijoid names. You people went and grabbed one of the very few people bearing an ijoid name in western obolo and made him IYC president, so that you people can draw this map and claim lands as far away as ibeno.

I was having a conversation with an elder statesman, a traditional title holder from Obolo land who clearly said that Obolo people are not ijaw people rather identify with Ijaws through the INC to gain traction for similar struggles on the national stage. Obolo people are of annang, obibio, ibo and defraka(ijaw) origin. How can people from Brass come and claim the entire land as their own?

Please wake Up! Stop accusing ibo people of what your people are trying to do. Dont start drawing lines and making false boundary claims. Alot of the indigenes of the communities you have added in your map would laugh loudly if someone called them Ijaw in person.

Maybe it would surprise you to know that the name is answered by people from lands far away from what is known as or confused as igboland. Okoro itself is an Idoma word.

Some Igalas. Idoma, Ijaw in rivers and bayelsa, Uhrobo in Delta, igede in Benue and some cross riverian tribes bear the name Okoro,

There are alot of Okoro named families across Rivers State.

Your question would have been legit if truly the igbos have and are historically known to stand with the Yoruba's and the only Yoruba man you guys supported was a northern puppet and wasn't the choice of the Yoruba's. You're claiming turn to presidency when clearly you guys would jump and support an atiku at any given moment, lol, what do you even mean by turn of the igbos tbhhuh The unofficial agreement is that it would be rotate between north and south and not between ethnic groups while majority of Yoruba's supported buhari we were called fulani slaves now you guys want to reap in a party you didn't sow, why can't you direct this questions to your beloveth PDP? What brigdes have any Igbo leader built to deserve support from the south west? You come to our region, we accommodate you, we sell and rent houses to you but yet you go around to call our land a "no man's land" and mock the generosity of those who don't behead you at the slightest provocation. Yet you want the support of Yoruba's, same Yoruba's who supported Jonathan in his first term but were humiliated and spat on to the amusement of igbos. Igbo presidency my ass.......your screams of marginalization are simply hypocritical screams that weren't audible when your brother in-law Jonathan was in power and if not for the unfortunate activities of fulani herdsmen most Yoruba's like me honestly have no qualms with them. You Igbos can't simply be trusted cus first off you can't even trust yourselves, when an Igbo man from imo state can't and dear not contest for governorship in anambra but is flexing muscle in Lagos asking to be given political position simply because he has some few shops in alaba and probably runs some illegal business on the side..... it's the foolish audacity for me, and funny enough we still give you ingrates concessions in the south west. You Igbos can't get presidency by guilt trippin and crying marginalization all the time, only liberal fools fall for such antics, you want us to support Igbo presidency when even your Igbo leaders can't take a firm stand on the herdsmen issue or stand by their own.....is it Hope Uzordinma or umahi we should support as Igbo president lol they'd sell out southern nigeria faster than my girlfriend can cum or should we support Peter Obi that failed to take responsibility for the akwazu SARS killings during his time as governor? Or his coded hate for Yoruba leaders? What governor in the region currently in APC can you guys present as a candidate? I'd rather have a third term buhari than have any of the know Igbo presidential hopefuls, atleast I know want am signing up for. You Igbos can't be trusted politically. Come 2023 it's either a Yoruba man has the seat or it remains in the north. We can talk about igbo presidency come 2050.
Well i am not an igboman. I see you are filled with tribal bitterness, Please take it easy, hypetension and stroke are real. Whether you vote igbo man or not, you are still stuck in this country with igbo people, and regardless of whether you vote based on your tribe or not, you and your family will still live in nigeria to deal with the fallout of whatever bad decisions we make again this election.

My question was for nigeria to start taking the right steps, shouldnt we be trying to take the right political foot step, so that the country starts walking in the right direction.

i have a question Sir, for you and other yoruba people who wants to take the turn of the igbos. if in your heart of hearts, you truly mean well for this country, if you truly EVER loved this country and want it to come out of this hole its in, why would you want a person from your tribe to be president even though its the turn of the igbos?

This country was built on the tripod of the three major tribes and both the yorubas and hausas have had their turns, why are the yorubas trying to take some elses turn to detriment of Nigeria - a country already on its knees. How does it make you feel about how history will remember your people should the walls of Nigeria come crashing down after your people have succesfully sidelined another major nigerian tribe in your presidential quest?

At this crossroad in Nigerias history, with screams of marginalization and lack of patriotism from the igbos drowning us all, dont you believe that for the sake of Nigeria, the yorubas simply should find a good igbo man and stand by him to clinch the presidency? Imagine what that would do to the mindset of nigerians if that were to happen. Imagine how much life it would breathe into this dying country if that act of Just, equity and selflessness was displayed by yoruba politicians ALL just so that this country would prevail...

I am asking these questions to understand the mindset of a Yoruba Person who despite reading, seeing and feeling everything that is going on in the country is convinced that a Yoruba presidency is step in the right direction.

And before you bring up the excuse about the igbos not having a strong APC candidate that can win, I want to remind you that elections in nigeria are won by rigging. whoever Buhari anoints as president WILL be the president come 2023, why cant they find an igboman?

And, I see the Yorubas constantly using the word Southern Nigeria now that election is here again. Whereas these people deliberately sided with the north to ruin a Southern President.

For the record there is nothing like Southern Nigeria, In this country there may be northern nigeria, but asides that what you have are tribes with a Name that Wants to keep its recognition like Yoruba, Ibo, Ibibio, Ijaw, etc.

If there is going ever be a Southern Agenda in Nigeria the best time for the South to prove it to come together and stand behind that one Southern tribe that is being treated unjustly. This is the time to do it!!

You have no point in all this garbage you put forward by placing the future of Yoruba nation to revolve around oil. You know nothing if you think Yoruba want to make oil thier main source of income in post Nigeria era.

Other points of religion and some Yoruba working in oil company is irrelevant to Yoruba as a people.
My friend, I am telling you what is factual, Yoruba people would be worse off in a Yoruba Nation than in Nigeria, Your cities would lose over half their commercial activities. All those buildings/businesses of other tribes you see in lagos that is is giving you high hopes would be vacated, sold off at a massive loss first to yorubas who would see themselves as smart, but they who first rush to buy would be buying heavy bags as there is no foolish money to sell to.

The Yorubas would be more impoverished, Looking at Benin Republic, we know what a future Yoruba nation would look like. Benin republic people are techically all yoruboid, They might have a more stable country "somtimes" but financially they are worse off than Nigerians. They see nigerians as rich people, big spenders.

And most importantly Yoruba people in Nigeria would come face to face with the question of religious divide, it would feel like northern nigeria vs southern nigeria, with no other tribes to scapegoat but your own yoruba people.

Yoruba people would be much more poorer and more divided in a Yoruba Nation, You guys should be the ones doing everything possible to see that Nigeria remains, But I guess as Africans, the truth is something we never want to come face to face with.

So dont let other nigerian tribes confuse your people, their nigerian experience and yours are worlds apart, Yoruba people shouldnt be caught up in the current "break up nigeria" rave. Nigeria has been good to the Yoruba race.#FACT

PoliticsRe: Igboho: Yoruba Nation Must Happen To Enjoy Electricity Like Benin Republic by Xbobtage:
If there is any set of people within the enclosed space of what we call nigeria who have seen their fortunes rise it is the Yorubas.

Nigeria has massively favoured yoruba people, they should be the last people seeking to leave this country, Any very intelligent Yoruba man should be fighting to maintain the status quo.

Let me remind our yoruba brothers who are allowing echoes to biafra from the igbos to confuse them into thinking they are birds of a feather.

1. Unlike igbo people, Yorubas are split in Religion, Half christians and half muslim. So to be honest while a christian,Yoruba person hate bokoharam and what they represent, A muslim Yoruba man might be a closet supporter. We all know that religion is the biggest divider of people, its easy to feel brotherly about your tribe when you are enclosed with other tribes, but in a sole Yoruba nation, Religion becomes a flash point.

2. The cornerstone of Development in Yorubaland is primarily because of lagos which remains the commercial capital of nigeria. The way nigeria is designed by the military regime, other tribes in nigeria are boxed out of so many options that would have been available to them to carry out their commericial activities.

Important examples, The main Seaport and Airport in Nigeria is in Lagos, If nigeria were to split other regions would finally take to their own. Creating a Yoruba Nation means the decommercialization of Lagos, and therefore those reasons why other nigerians flood lagos would cease to exist, and a slow and steady collapse of the commercial activities in the state will commence, A good example of a city that has faced decommercialization is Detroit. It used to be the manufacturing capital of America in the 50s, houses were very expensive to buy, Today Its a ghost city that over 50 percent of its population has relocated, and you can buy a full duplex in Detroit for $1 today.

3. Since the yorubas barely have any oil, their major source of state income is federal government allocation which comes from OIl proceeds and for states like Lagos and Ogun, state incomes are made from taxes. Removing lagos from nigeria would decommercialize it, which depopulate it and wipe off those pesky taxes that the state government uses to generate IGR.

4. The yorubas barely producing any oil in Abundance, are currently some the largest tribes holding top positions in oil companies in Nigeria, go to Shell, Chevron, Agip, most of their top staffs are Yorubas, That ceases to exist once the Yorubas have a country of their own.

There are so many other reasons but as you can see, while the igbos and other ND states can claim that Nigeria has massively hurt them, The opposite has been the case for yoruba people. Wanting the division of nigeria is akin to a Yoruba man trying to kill his goose that lays the golden eggs. Bad Move!

Ortom is crying and shouting but some Southern politicians are dinning with these people as if nothing happen is happening. But one thing I know is that nobody can forcefully take any part of SOUTHSOUTH as their conquered territory, instead we all fight to death.
My brother I am from the south south, Technically we are almost under fulani control apart from the liberty we have to practice our religion and culture. I guess its until that is taken away from us that most of our will people understand that we have been long gone for a while.

As it stands we are somewhat of a fulani controlled territory and nobody is shaking. Military commanders in the zone are all fulanis, navy, army, airforce.

Look, people should stop thinking that this will be a shock and awe military invasion, it will be a systematic invasion and the nigerian military machine will be used to back it up. In the nigerian military machine, there are people from your tribe who will be part of the troops to stop your people from doing anything to protect themselves.

The nigerian military machine is now fully matured, Its like a cult, the top commanders regardless of tribe are truly treated like kings, the dream of every junior officers/foot soldiers is to maintain as much loyalty as you can so that YOU MAY end up like the big ogas at the top even though those top positions are reserverd majorly for the Fulanis. While everyone is saying they are serving to protect nigeria, everyone apart from the Fulanis truly know the only thing they are loyal to is their pocket, while the fulanis are working to realise their ancestral agenda. So since everyone else is loyal to their pockets and retirement benefits/postings, their hands are tied, they cant cough otherwise they risk being fired by their fulani ogas.

So I believe what you are waiting for is for declaration of sharia in a south south state, or banning of churches or naming of nigeria something like islamic state of nigeria. Fact is all of these can happen right now, without anyone shaking, afterall we have arabic words written on the military logo and naira notes and no one is shaking.

They can simply conduct a census, rig it and claim muslim population is now 60 percent and the country will be made an islamic republic, then they will look for some southern politicians to spear head it because it will draw X amount of billions of investment from rich muslim nations and right here on this nairaland I bet you the same people who are using grammer to explain why the presidency can not go to the south east, will explain to you here on this nairaland, you will rant, and say we are watching, nothing will still happen.

If the country is already an islamic country, then everything else can be put in place, Iran is only about 65 percent muslim, egypt is about 68 percent but those countries are run under sharia law. In the 1940s Iran was a secular country people lived like in europe, women wore whatever they wanted. I am sure you know the case there now.

Once Islam is bestowed on the country as the national religion, everything else sharia can slowly fall in place. Hands down, the fulanis are obviously the smartest tribe in nigeria.

PoliticsRe: 2023: Who Fits The Bill Of Nigeria’s Ideal President? by Xbobtage:
perambulator:
1. You need to understand the difference between a "candidate" and a "president". A "candidate" stands for election and his purpose is to win an election. Unless a candidate wins the election, he can never become the president. So when you talk about "better candidates", a better candidate is a candidate that can WIN an election. You win by getting more votes than your opponent!

2. The purpose of a candidate is to win the most number of votes. So the better candidate is the candidate that can win the most number of votes. it is simple arithmetic. If your home base hasnt got enough votes to lead you to victory and you have no appeal outside your home base, then no matter how good a leader you will be or how good your ideas are, you cant win an election...therefore you are not a good candidate. A good example of this was Awo.

3. if you are not liked at home but have broad appeal outside your home base and the outside votes are more than your home base votes you are a good candidate e.g OBJ!

4. if you will make a useless leader but you have enough votes, you are a good candidate because you will win e.g Buhari.

So my friend, you are the one who is being tribal, because you are the one in this case looking at things from a tribal point of view instead of the simple arithmetic it takes to win an election. To win an election any Ibo candidate must have appeal across Nigeria not local champions....this is not an election for SE governorship/senate etc where all that matters are ibo votes and perception/appeal among ibo voters. you dont have the numbers so your candidate must have appeal outside the SE. So when people outside the SE tell you the people you are mentioning are unelectable among their electorate, instead of abusing them, you either try and repackage the candidate or find a candidate that appeals to them. How you see your political leaders is different from how others may see them due to cultural differences for example. Virtually all SE governors are seen as morons outside the SE and unelectable outside the SE. Its not a tribal thing, I can mention ibos that have national appeal but they all have k leg. Okorocha has national appeal but he is a comedian an unelectable, Orji (the ibo with probably the broadest national appeal) has too much baggage, NOI is very credible but has disqualified herself by taking American citizenship in order to get the WTO job. I cant think of any Ibo right now in the political arena that has electoral appeal outside the SE. You may take offense if you like but I am just stating the facts and whether you like it or not doesnt change the facts. The best is Amaechi but you will say he is not ibo.

The ibo man would do well to listen more and abuse less. Winning a national election in Nigeria is hard but when you field a candidate that cannot win outside ibo land simply because he is popular in Ibo land, you have lost the election before you start.

Remember winning is not about who is can get votes among ibos but who can get votes amongst the rest of the country.

Dont confuse a good president with a good candidate. A good candidate is a candidate that can win. it really is that simple!!! Only a candidate that wins becomes president ...again it really is that simple!!1

So when you say Buhari is a bad candidate it means you are not thinking with your head or you do not know what a "good candidate" means. presently Buhari is unbeatable in Nigeria, if he contests in 2023 he will win and we are lucky the constitution limits his term to 2. or else no one will be able to defeat him. That is the definition of a good candidate!!!! Somebody who can win!!!
You must be naïve! Do you have to be to believe than election is won in nigeria. Its only rigged. The person with the biggest federal might wins the election by rigging.

If President Buhari picks an unknown person from Edo State as his successor, that person automatically becomes President whether you vote or not.

Those politicians who are currently enjoying nigeria because of all the wrongs that make this country a perfect place to be a politician, should try to find an igbo person loyal to them and rig that person in. Otherwise the pressure to break this country from the south east will eventually split this country.

The no 1 Ikwerre man in nigeria Wike Nyesom opened his big talkative mouth on live TV and told the world that Ikwerres are from Bini and have no consanguinity whatsover with the Igbos, yet someone is up there writing long epistles about ikwerre and their quest for survival that forced them to deny their Igbo heritage. Nonsense!

The Anioma Igbos and SE Igbos who have proudly refused to deny their heritage, did they go into extinction?

The Ikwerre issue have been conculsively dealt with, with the facts on ground- THEY ARE NOT IGBOS.

It is my opinion that they should start DELINGUINIZING themselves from the Igbo language, customs and tradition, and start RELINGUINIZING themselves with the Bini language, the language of their ancestors. To prevent any further confusion.

It's a good thing that Igbos are culturally sensitive, even if you speak Igbo fluently than Okeke or Okorie, if he must have any serious dealings with you, he will get to know where you come, down to your kindred.

An Ikwerre man who grew up in Abia state, whom I had a deal with once lied to me that he was from Arochukwu, Abia state. Foolish me couldn't investigate his claims until he swindled me of my hard earned millions. He spoke Owerri and Abia dialects very fluently.
I traced him down his village in Ikwerre, captured him like a thief and sent him to his knackers.

He knew from the onset that once he mentioned 'Ikwerre' to me, the deal was dead as dodo, as it would set alarms in my brain ringing, so he hid his true identity.

Ikwerres are not Igbos period.
Greetings, you have indirectly mentioned me in your post and I wanted to reiterate my opinion.

My Entire write up was to encourage the OP who is an Ikwerre man and his pro igbo type to be more outspoken, and not let their voices get drowned by the anti-igbo ones.

I Also tried to rationalize the beginning of this igbo denial amongst ikwerres after the war as a survival strategy, though the younger generation Ikwerres may not understand the contemporary to have emanated from such. They are just told and have understood that they are not igbos, and considering all the below the belt jabs you might get as an igbo person in nigeria, such a person might find it comfortable to retain the status quo

I also did mention that since there are no incentives per se to keeping an igbo identity within the SS, rather a person from an Igboic speaking clan in the SS is spared from the usual anti igbo rhetoric that an igbo person might get in the SS, and most importantly are allowed to hold top jobs in the oil rich niger delta without being sidelined for fear of being igbo.

I understand that this should feel hurtful to igbos, that a fellow igbo person would do such. But rather than persecute an Ikwerre man for masking his identity to successfuly pull off a business transaction in Aba, why cant igbos do things to bring their people together? To be specific what are you as an Igbo man doing to unite your own people?

As a tribe that has been balkanized as a result of the loss of the war, shouldnt it be something at the forefront of every igbo organisation to create incentivizing campaigns that would unite igbo people, so that people of of igboic decent would be compelled to wear their igbo heritage with pride?

What stops Ohanaze ndigbo from doing something like creating a football tournament for all igbo clans, where the winning team walks with 180m naira, while every other participating team receives 50m naira, or something as simple as a beauty contest for Miss Igboland with huge financial rewards and deals for the winning person and all contestants, obviously sponsors from igboland for such events are in abundance. If these things were being done, this very thread would not exist.

Do you know that Ijaws were also having issues with people of ijoid ancestry denying that they are ijaws but since the creation of Bayelsa state, the government of the state has made it a mission to throw huge money at any organisation or community that is ijaw themed and since then, every tribe around the creeks want to join the IYC, even igbo groups like ndoki people have joined, very soon Oguta people in Imo state will join and the entire igbo people are just watching.

So dont sit and rant on nairaland about igbo clans denying their igboness, do something about, Nothing stops you from announcing that beauty pageant and then go and look for sponsors, igbo and even Ikwerre people would throw money at it.
