I think a lot of normally intelligent people are taking an alarmingly casual attitude to the unfolding disaster called Nigeria.

The population is due to double again with the next 30 years. Apart from the fact that most our inland oil fields are depleting very quickly, oil is fast losing its global primacy as an energy source. You only need to imagine the effects of this on government revenue.

I don’t even want to talk about the fact that the current regime is borrowing like there is no tomorrow and spending all the money on daft politically motivated projects.

Climate change and associated desertification are having an increasingly calamitous effect on food production as well as an increase in strife not just in the NC but increasingly down south. Frankly, I expect massive population movements southwards. The fact that upwards of 90% of the population in some of these places are involved in agriculture should give any rational observer food for thought.

The day of reckoning is very, very near. I was thinking of these things today and I got very, very scared. You don’t need to be a soothsayer to know who the likely scapegoats will be as things get even more desperate in the country.

We need to build a proper economy in our homeland. We need to look at our peers in places like SE Asia. We should copy, borrow and if necessary steal ideas, technologies and markets from these people.

We need a healthy, educated populace. We need infrastructure. Our very survival as a people is at stake. Mere shaming people to invest backhome isn’t going to work. We need a world class business environment.

The issue is very urgent and cannot wait.

And do you mean the 5%-ters? The IPIGs are obviously extremely irrelevant! They're Nigerian slaves, & that's why you see the IPIGs have only 5 states when others have 6! You make any innocent noise, & Python will dance as the slaves that the IPIGs are! So you see nobody is crying to the IPIGs for votes because they're that irrelevant! The SS is much more important & have more voting power, & that's where APC is struggling to enter!


By the way, you still haven't told us where the northern candidate who will win in 2023 will come from! Is it from the PDP or APC who won't be presenting northern candidates? And pls try to answer as intelligently as possible for your IQ level!

A platform to unite Ndiigbo is wat we need.

We all need to come together and decided wat type of structure it should have and how to connect every igbo person on the planet to it.

Even the ones sold during slavery can join. The ones in all those far away countries too can feel closer to home.

We need to start linking up.

be sincere with yourself and don’t be insulting ... from every 10 crimes stories Igbos will make up of 5 of it while other tribe share the remaining 5 ... don’t you think the act of desperation for money making is leading Igbos into problems , the whole world knows Igbos for high crime , Europeans now knows the different between Igbos and other tribes In Nigeria ... go to prisons in Malaysia, Thailand, China , Indonesia , Indian and lot more countries Igbo are making high numbers in their prisons . So are you saying it’s yoruba and Hausa than put them in those situation ? Igbos need to learn how to be humble

I am enjoying this thread and people should not come and use our small differences to mess up this thread and we should focus on 5 Igbo states for now ...yes anioma is Igbo...but I hate calling ika Igbo and I reluctantly call ikwerre cousins not even igbo

The more I see what is going on on various igbo related threads, the more I realize how important it is that we have our own website with Pro igbo mods.

What is wrong with Igbos ? When Peoole talk of Dangote no Hausa or Fulani ever praise Hausa tribe for his achievements, when people talk of Otedola or Adenuga no yoruba man praise Yoruba tribe for their achievements but once a company own by Igbos are mentioned you will see all sort of tribalistic comments... are they suffering from inferiority complex?
