FamilyRe: Can A Man Settle Down With 50k As Salary? by xdos(m): 10:21am On Jul 28, 2016
Ermm let's analysis it... 50K take home salary... annual take home is 600k. So you need to save for atleast a year.
Average annual rent for a self contain is 120-150k depending on location... that is like 3months of your salary.
Let's say you decide to go meet a pastor to wed you guys and prolly engage few friends to celebrate with you guys, you could budget about 100k..
You and your wife can actually survive on 20k-25k/ month i.e. if you have an understanding wife and you can save 30k/month for next house rent and also have few coins in your pocket to start something for your wife... I won't advise you go for kids yet... You also will have to be very very stingy to family and friends...
PoliticsRe: Fashola Inspects Power Plant In Kaduna State(pics by xdos(m): 9:52am On Jul 14, 2016
I am glad you are part of the project. Chief, please inform us... How long has that project been on? Immediately I saw the name Rockson, I lost hope. Well I pray and hope Fashola completes this project in his time.
Guyman02:
The pictures you see is a result of our sweat, I work on that project and I can tell you that a lot has gone into it, ask any engineer from the pictures you see there. I was impressed with the directives Fashola gave to the contractor to complete on schedule and for funds to be released immediately.

Calm down, I work in that plant and meanwhile I dont like APC, but that plant has dual fired MS5001 GE Turbines which means it can effectively be run on LPFO, LPG, LNG, Diesel and natural gas. LPFO & Diesel can be sourced from Kaduna refinery while LPG & LNG can be imported via rail or trucks from Lagos ports and Portharcourt, several companies are on queue to supply the fuels but the govt has to choose the cheapest variant pending when the Ajaokuta to Kano natural gas pipeline will be ready.
We are talking engineering here not politics
PropertiesRe: Don't Be A Victim. Investigate Every Property Before You Buy Any Land This Year by xdos(m): 8:47am On Jul 11, 2016
Hello Lawyer,
Thanks for your good work. I have an issue.
I bought a property from Nike community in Enugu state through an agent. When I got the document for the property, it was a 'Deed of Lease' for 99yrs and with some conditions stated therein. Analysing this with my inlaw, he isn't comfortable with the deed of lease and is of the opinion I should sell the property.
My agent is of the opinion that when I get a CoO, it will over-write whatever condition is stated in that document. Please advise.

KingsCity:
if a solar plant can deliver as much as 75MW @ a cost of $146m, then why don't we build build 200 of such plants across the country to get 15000MW and forget about militants and gas powered plants?

The truth is this; Fix the Nigerian Police, you fix Nigeria.
The state of our country Nigeria reflects on the Nigerian police. So anyone who can fix the Nigerian Police has fixed Nigeria already.

Hey Chief, won't argue wiv you further on this. Just know that Ghana isn't what you paint it to be and corruption is massive there too.
banmee:
I would seriously advice you to stop and read the things you post before clicking submit in the future. Holy crap. The bolded comment of yours is the whole point. It is why they are better than Nigeria. Nigeria cannot maintain a university hostels toilet and you want them to manage power generation. Ghana is organized as you yourself have confessed, in all aspects of their lives. The only reason you cannot comprehend the importance of that is because you are too used to the corruptive nature in Nigeria. I hope you are not a manager because if you use that line that because consumption is more, a "RICH" nation cannot meet up even though they are rich, you'd be fired. I used america as an example because you keep thinking that provision is limited because of size. That is completely false. Provision of anything is limited if the people providing it are ignorant of the mechanism of the what they want to provide, are corrupt and are totally disorganized.
Foreign AffairsRe: Hilarious Photos Of Ghanaian Law Enforcement Agents by xdos(m): 5:45pm On May 28, 2016
When you talk about Europe/America/Asia, Naija dey learn work.. I agree.. but Nigeria is a lot better than most African countries. Things are very cheap in Nigeria oh. It is very easy to survive in Nigeria than most countries. We got so many things for free mehn. Soon, our power issues would be history.
banmee:
Apart from Ghana, i have been to South Africa, Kenya, Equitorial Guinea. All these countries are eons more stable in every aspect to Nigeria. Let's not even mention Europe, Asia and the Americas. Nigeria needs to put patriotism aside and face the truth about their country.
Foreign AffairsRe: Hilarious Photos Of Ghanaian Law Enforcement Agents by xdos(m): 5:39pm On May 28, 2016
My friend.. Even Ghana isnt fully powered. Even with their lil' power demand. Ghana has a peak demand of 2000MW and Nigeria has a peak demand above 15000MW. I have commissioned a lot of their power generating units. They may be a little more organized in terms of power generation but that doesnt make them better than Nigeria. America ke.. bros, our comparison is between Naija and other African countries.

Yes, Naija owes salary but then you cant compare them with Ghana. Naija has a lot more wealthy people than Ghana. In terms of infrastructure, tell me what is attractive in Ghana? The only good roads you have in Ghana are their major roads you know. Their street roads are a mess. C'mmon you cant compare ghana wiv Naija abeg.
banmee:
We are not talking about their demands for power but how they can provide it. Even if Nigeria's demands were 100MW, it would still not be able to provide it. What you are saying is because Nigeria has a larger population so can't provide for everyone. So how do you explain America who has almost double Nigeria's population but can provide for almost everyone? Nigeria is a lot richer you say but how come they can't pay salaries, maintain infrastructure, provide jobs. Do you see the problem?
Foreign AffairsRe: Hilarious Photos Of Ghanaian Law Enforcement Agents by xdos(m): 2:09pm On May 28, 2016
Please tell me... apart from South Africa, what is the power demand for the other African countries you mentioned?
banmee:
Apart from Ghana, i have been to South Africa, Kenya, Equitorial Guinea. All these countries are eons more stable in every aspect to Nigeria. Let's not even mention Europe, Asia and the Americas. Nigeria needs to put patriotism aside and face the truth about their country.
Foreign AffairsRe: Hilarious Photos Of Ghanaian Law Enforcement Agents by xdos(m): 2:05pm On May 28, 2016
My friend, I wonder who lied to you. Ghana is not better than Nigeria one bit. The standard of living in Nigeria is far better than Ghana. Concerning power demand. Peak power demand for Ghana is just 2000MW. The peak demand for Nigeria is far above 10000MW. So chill! NIGERIA is a lot richer than Ghana. I have been there my friend. Been to different regions there.
banmee:
What you read is only a snippet of the bad side of Ghana. Every country has bad practices. The thing to look at is the frequency. Even America has bad things you can talk about but what you have to also look at is the frequency. Ghana is a million times better than Nigeria. You have to go there to understand. Can you go out and buy fuel and 1 a.m in the morning in Nigeria? Can you drive a mile cross country in Nigeria without experiencing death traps. Can you say with confidence that you feel safe and have no fear of armed robbers in Nigeria? Can you honestly swear that you are guaranteed 40 hours of light in Nigeria? These are the realities of an average Ghanian. And i ain't Ghanaian either.
Foreign AffairsRe: Hilarious Photos Of Ghanaian Law Enforcement Agents by xdos(m): 1:58pm On May 28, 2016
Pure lies! How many African country have you been to or your opinion is based on hearsay? Ghana is in no way better than Nigeria in any aspect. I have been there and I have visited different regions. You guys should just drop this biko!
banmee:
Which is why i said go there. Personal experience is the best experience. I wonder what you mean by "standard of living" in this context. If i were you i would not even bring it into this conversation. I know you are patriotic but come on. You, me, and the rest of the world knows that Nigeria is just a name with nothing to back it up. Nigeria does not have a standard, so how can they have a standard of living? Quality of life is poor in Nigeria to say the least and you know it. If i had to compare Nigeria to any country i have been to i would probably say Afghanistan. You'd be surprised how similar both countries are. They are tribalistic as phuck, corrupt as hell and they love jungle justice. They are also very very dirty. I am not saying Ghana is fantastic but compared to Nigeria, it is heaven.
Foreign AffairsRe: Hilarious Photos Of Ghanaian Law Enforcement Agents by xdos(m): 1:52pm On May 28, 2016
Who told you that rubbish? Do you know what Ghana power peak demand is and their installed capacity? Do yu know what naija power peak demand is and installed capacity?
Inflation is much higher in Ghana than in Nigeria. Please get your facts right Sir.
hahn:
The 24 hour electricity is enough for most Nigerians to argue that other African countries are better than us. They have better health care and inflation is not as prevalent as Nigeria. In fact, whenever I come into Nigeria from any other country the difference is always clear from the border. It is obvious we are still very much confused on how to organize ourselves undecided

That's a fair price..... even traders currently spend over 1 million for a 7 day trip leaving in some downtown hotel. Dollar don cost
You said 1M for a 7 day trip abi..
The question is how long are these guys going to spend there? are hotels in China that expensive? I stand to be corrected. I think the exchange should be Naira to yuan and not Naira -USD- Yuan.
For me I still think that 2.62M is on the high side for a country battling to pay 18,000 minimum wage.

a request for a loan of N13.1million from NBC for a five-man official delegation to China.

In spite of the fact that the trip was officially approved by President Muhammadu Buhari, a deputy director, who is a member of the cabal, allegedly snapped the memo and leaked it to the media.

/
Let us analyse the bolded properly.
How much will it cost a five-man official delegate to fly to China.. 'Round trip'?
This would be a govt sponsored trip... Now how much would it cost to lodge them in China?
How long would they be staying in China?
Cost of feeding too...
If we divide N13.1M/5, that means each person would be spending N2.62M shocked shocked shocked. I think that is on the high side oh..

PoliticsRe: Arase Arrives Enugu Over Herdsmen Massacre by xdos(m): 2:40pm On Apr 27, 2016
So many questions begging to be answered.
They said these Fulani Herdsmen aka terrorists came in buses and they were abt 500 in number. My question is..
How did they evade all the police checkpoints with their arms all the way from the North or did they drive through the bush? cos I know that in most of our highways, the distance btw police checkpoints is less than 500M.
Who supplied them with these arms?
Are they even authorized to carry arms?
Let us assume the police didnt have pre-info. I learnt a lot of people in the force were dispatched to those troubled places b4 the attack. Where was the police when these guys came attacking?
How come no police personnel was killed during the attack if the police were truly there as claimed?
No fulani terrorist was killed during the attack.. was the police shooting tear gas?

Now, we learnt there was pre-info that even the Governor of the state was notified of the settlement of the herdsmen prior to the attack.. No action was taken to secure those regions and the people were left at the mercy of the terrorists. mehn!
If it is true that the Governor was pre-informed and yet this happened, He should as a matter of fact, resign cos as a CSO of the state, he failed!

@Ops I agree with you on Luanda.
Imagine my colleague buying flagile for N4700 and my other colleague bought cough serup for N11000.. something that would sell for not more than N500 in Nigeria. And a 2-bedroom flat goes for $8000 - $12000/month in some places.
Most part of Angola is dirty yet very expensive even Cabinda the oil city is nothing to write home about.
* someone told me at the airport while i was leaving Luanda that even to pick an Olosho, you must have atleast $200.

These same people cursing PMB for not devaluing the naira would be the same people to turn around and cry foul if he yields to the pressure from IMF and devalue the Naira.
No one has been able to give a tangible reason why he should devalue the Naira.
The naira devalued by IBB never helped Nigeria
Whether it was Diagbon who made the strong policies or not, as long as PMB was the head of state then, he allowed it. So he has every right to take the glory then.
I am neither PDP nor APC but it's good we applaud positive policies.
I stand with Buhari on 'NO' to Naira devaluation!
PoliticsRe: Photos Of Bukola Saraki At CCT Today by xdos(m): 2:38pm On Apr 18, 2016
What is wrong with us Nigerians?
Sometimes I get confused.

When people are prosecuted for their crimes, we complain
When they are not prosecuted for their crimes we also complain.
What do we really want?
Whether witch-hunt or not, is he guilty of the crime? let the court decide that.
This is the reason our corrupt politicians walk with their shoulders high.
Look at the case of the former NSA.. I get disappointed when people say the FG is putting too much energy in fighting this man and they forget the number of soldiers who were sent on suicide missions. These soldiers lost their lives not because they were not capable but they were sent to war fronts without the required tools to fight these insurgents. All because someone somewhere who was placed in authority choose to pocket the money meant for buying arms.
The selfish decisions these corrupt men in power take affects us negatively. So we must stand solidly behind the govt to say NO to corruption. We must help the govt fight these corrupt men to a standstill for the sake of us and our children even those yet unborn.

This train 7/ 8 has been on inception even before Babs Omotowa took over as MD NLNG.
I don't understand why the project execution is taking this much time. This is one project I thought GEJ's govt would use to create employment for the people. I hope Buhari gets these done... I am very sure it'll create massive employment for the masses.
InvestmentNLNG Plans A Train 8 by xdos(op): 6:58pm On Apr 13, 2016
Kunle, Kalejaye 12 April 2016, Sweetcrude, Lagos.

The Nigeria LNG Limited, NLNG, has announced plans to introduce an additional train to its six existing trains at its operational base on Bonny Island, Rivers State.

The new train, added to the existing six and a seventh train that had been on the drawing board for over 10 years, brings the total number of trains at the NLNG plant to 8.

Announcing this in Lagos, the company said the new Train 8 would be integrated to the Train 7 project and would be developed together with it.

Managing Director of the NLNG, Mr. Bab Omotowa, who disclosed this when he officially presented the 2016 Facts and Figures of the company to newsmen, said: “Are we doing Train 7 & 8 together? The answer is true. Previously we were looking at Train 7 as a mega project, which is similar to what the Qataris has built which is a 8.7 million tons per annum Train.

“The current set of Trains which we have is between 3.8 to 4.3. But this new one would have been 8.7 but after much review, we said that it is much better to replicate what we have rather than complicate our problem.

“So, we are building a replica of Train 6. So when we do that (4.3, 4.3 capacity each) we have 8.6 which is the same 8.7. It will be easier to maintain and it is the same technology. So, we are working the two Trains (7 & cool together,” Mr. Omotowa said.

Commenting on when the Final Investment Decision, FID, on Trains 7 & 8, would be concluded, Mr. Omotowa said it will be done during the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The NLNG boss noted that embarking on Train 7 & 8 projects now would be much cheaper because of low oil price, adding that $300 million has already been spent n site preparation for the project

Hahaha.. This happened to me...
Some months back I was home with family... I was forming angry for my wife and refused eating her food. Early in the morning, after much plea, and me I was forming shakara, she drove out with the kids and me bin hungry decided to make indomie... she already made breakfast and lunch for me oh.
Indomie is actually my specialty. Everyone likes the way I prepare it. So that fateful morning, i decided to prepare indomie.. I didnt know what happened but i mistakenly loaded it with pepper and i didnt know.
When it was now time to eat, my wife drove in with the kids like she planned and timed me. I tried to eat the indomie in a way she would think that it is so sweet and she'll beg me to have some but when I bit the first spoon, I almost cried. I tried to be man about it and eat it like a boss.. My 2yr old daughter on seeing me ran to me to have a taste of my supposedly sweet indomie but then I couldnt let her.. somehow she struggled, managed to lay her hand on the sausage, grabbed it and put in her mouth and there she disgraced me.. She started crying and screaming pepper pepper.. I felt so ashamed ehn dat I was forced to drop the food and eat my wife's own. grin grin
