Endtime baby... |
Yea true but I think I am more comfortable having my pay cheque come to me. I think in the states, that isnt optional. Feraz: |
Gentlemen, I have very big question and it goes thus; What is your take on your pay cheque going to your wife? I was discussing with a colleague of mine who is a Field Engineer from the States and he told me that he doesnt see his pay cheques cos' the company we work for sends it to his wife. I think it is a norm in US. Now imagine after toiling for a wk/month/years, your pay instead of coming into your account, goes to your wife. The woman gets to tell you how the money you worked for get to be spent. In the former company I worked for, I had colleagues (Expartriates) who stayed for more than 2yrs stretch outside and their pay was sent to their wives in their various countries. By the time some of them completed their assignments and went home, we got the news that some of them, their wives have eloped and remarried and one even used all the money on her self alone without sending anyone to his parents. Dont get me wrong. We have good women that can plan with the money and help you fix your house properly. So whatz your take? |
'More than 70% of people' you say? That is one damn lie the DISCOs want us to believe. Good thing I have also read from here and also confirmed from a friend who is a Manager with EEDC that they now have better ones mounted on poles. What stops them from installing them? One good thing I have read in ages from Enugu State HOA is the order for EEDC to leave Enugu State. Since Fashola is still asleep, Enugu state have decided to take the Bull by the horn and there is also a message going on on whatsapp for people to assemble for a protest. I hope other states do the same. The solution to our power problem starts with fixing the DISCOs first. Imagine our grid frequency always above normal. It is very rare for the frequency to go below 51Hz. Infact, visit our GENCOs and you see most of them even with an installed capacity of up to or even more than 600MW, they only run 1 or 2 units and generate less than 200MW because they dont want to overload the grid. If 'estimated billing scam' is eliminated and the end users have prepaid meters, the DISCOs would have no other option than to improve their system to accept as much energy as possible so they can make more money. Enough is enough for these DISCOs. We cant keep sitting and watch them do whatever they like. Time for every state to rise and protest against this 'Estimated billing' scam. #ourmumudondo! jarkbauer: |
After extorting from us via his EEDC coy. Rubbish! |
First, Jumia/Konga should eliminate the option of pay on delivery. To deliver an item, they should use more than one person especially if location is remote. Though I am of the opinion that if they eliminate the pay on delivery, it should take care of every other thing. |
You should know that Hameed Ali has set the pace. If Presidency did not see anything wrong with Hameed Ali not wearing the uniform of the Organization he heads, why should the corper be brutalized? Abbeyme: |
I think it's high time Nigerians came out en masse and protest against the DISCOs. The DISCO 'Estimated billing' is the new corruption. I dont know why the FG has decided to stay in bed with them, Infact, if the govt wants to tackle Power instability in this country, they should first start with the DISCOs. They need to wield the big stick against against the DISCOs. The DISCOs should be enforced to meter ALL their customers. If this is achieved, they will know that the only way they can make money is to provide energy to the end-users. The reason they have refused to improve their services is simply because of the fraud money they make via 'Estimated billing'. You can imagine MTN billing you for calls you didnt make. The Telecom network work day/night to improve services else they wont make money. Take a look at EEDC for instance, Every two months, they increase their tarriff/multiplier with no improvement in Energy distributed. Please tell me which fraud that is higher than this. So if the FG put up strict sanctions on our DISCOs and ensure they meter their customers else they wont make money, the DISCOs will have no other option but to sit up. They DISCOs need a very strong hand to sit up. Nigerians should know that there is so much energy on our grid to be distributed and our DISCOs are busy rejecting this energy with funny irrelevant excuses. Everytime you look at the grid frequency, it is over 51Hz and yet people are in the dark. If the corruption in the DISCOs is not tackled, then power stability in our system will be a mirage. #peaceout |
Good News! |
I really dont know how God equates 'fornication' committed by two consenting adults with the killing of an innocent man. Well, who am I to question Him. The perpetrators of this terrible evil deserve a special death and also a special place in hell! Just because of an iphone that will fade off in few months time. This doesnt make sense to me one bit! |
Chief, we are not fighting. We are here to share info and also to learn from one another. Please note that that Calabar and Sapele have Island mode capability. Ihovbor too will be fully functional in no distant time. Sapele has been tested and it worked but because of the business side of it which is yet to be agreed upon, that is why they did not continue with it. But these plants have the ability to blackstart the grid. Many thanks for reading. ANBAKO: |
Good technology but they should not forget to put an alarm disable button for buyers from Nigeria |
Bro, are you saying there are no black starts in these sites I mentioned or are you saying they are not working? olaifeboy: |
Chief, c'mmon... There are other power plants with blackstart capabilities. Have you been to Ihovbor, Sapele and Calabar power plants? olaifeboy: |
Chief, that is not an old outdated system. That unit is a GE frame 9E Gas turbine and MKVIE Controls System. MKVIE is GE latest smart Controls system technology. And the Generator, a hydrogen cooled 50Hz Generator is also brand new. That said... Our problem is more of DISCO than GENCOs.The best solution is to have these GENCOs supply directly to the End-users because the kwarruption in the DISCOs is massive with reference to their Energy rejection and 'Estimated billings'. weedtheweeds: |
Fashola really made a careless statement. Now he wears that same shoe. I think most or our problems are the DISCOs and that is why we do have grid collapse. They dont fully utiize power generated. Infact right now as I type, the grid frequency is high over 51Hz. Someone seeing this will think Nigeria is generating plenty power but this is simply because the DISCOs are not evacuating the already generated power and this creates heavy load on the grid which results in power collapse. The DISCOs reject power generated and give the excuse that people are not paying up when they have refused to meter people and have relied on Estimated billing. This estimated billing is a way of making people pay for darkness (the light not given to them). The FG needs to force the DISCOs to meter every house so that these DISCOs will stop stealing from people and also stop rejecting power from Generation. |
Do you mean 35 blocks are required per pillar? HsLBroker: |
I do not agree with this. Why are they public institutions then? Now this will leave the students at the mercy of their lecturers/School management. I have someone currently running MSc. program at UNEC. Every week she comes back home with one particular demand or the other from their HOD/lecturers. First few weeks after she gained admission into UNEC, they were mandated to change the windows in their class and also made to buy Air Conditioners and a Projector. To maintain a cordial relationship with their lecturers, they are mandated to attend individual events like burials organized by their lecturer. During presentations, they'll have to cook for the lecturers. Infact at one time, the HOD demanded that the students buy fowls and split each fowl into just four parts for them. Also another demand currently on is that since their MSc session has spilled into another year, they'll have to pay another school fee. The lecturers treat their students like they are doing them a favour. Since her admission, I have spent much more than I paid for school fee. One lecturer even told the students, 'you know UNN have wahala and you people still came to school here. No one asked you or begged you to come so you'll have to endure and cooperate with the wahala'... Imagine that. Now they have been told officially to seek alternative means of funding, the school would frustrate the students much more. |
He has said it all. In Nigeria, the Abnormal has become the Norm that nobody knows what the NORMAL is. |
Biggest scam.. They have been saying this since 2008. These turbines were bought in 2005. Infact a serious govt would not take more than 1year to commission those GE Frame 9E gas turbines but because of kwarraption and unseriousness, they have been playing politics with it and also siphoning money via variation. Lemme just keep kwayet and watch the magic they would do to complete the commisioning in 3rd quarter. |
Damn! I never knew tyre inflation could be that dangerous. They must have been on the line of fire. I am sure there are safety precautions for this but our road side mechanics careless. Infact if you try to intervene and correct them, they'll look at you with disdain. I saw a man in a gas station inside a vehicle with his seatbelt on and he was trying to get gas. I approached him politely and told him.. oga, you dont need to have your seatbelt on when in a gas station because if accident should occur, you'll have less than 0.5 secs to escape. The man flared up surprisingly and was like.. what do you know about safety. I am safe and blah blah... The mechanic man would be like; I have been doing this for more than 30yrs and nothing has happened. The annoying thing is that these accidents are very avoidable. |
Well explained but which Christian student would want to show himself to the school authority in the name of applying for Christian student association in a Muslim dominated state/school. Isnt that suicidal? ![]() |
This exactly is my point. Yet one is charged same amount with a better aircraft Michoolu: |
I am on standby waiting. Interesting story by the way.. Keep it up.. Your silent reader... |
I don laff tire mehn... If the story is true then you need to talk to her... You can even join her in the kitchen and teach her.. For she to offer to make your food , I am sure she'll be more than willing to improve. Remember that the Room for improvement is the largest room ever!!! |
Bro, yea I quite agree that Nigeria does not have a viable airline and Arikair have very old planes. Ofcourse I won't fly ARIk on International trips especially when I have better options. I would have paid for ARik which is cheaper but for the sake of comfort and entertainment, I paid higher for Etihad. so I believe I should have value for my money. I mean this is like paying for DSTV and they end up giving you cheap local stations because there are non-Nigeria owned satellite stations. ekoboy: |
From the name i guess you work for them. Yea, I just saw Air Seychelles on ticket but the question is why would they send in scraps to Nigeria? If itz a one time thing then no issues but going by what the other passenger said about sending such planes when most passengers are Nigerians, then it's something to worry about. ifyalways: |
I don't know if anyone has posted this here but let me still share this with us. I boarded Etihad Airways on my return from India to Nigeria. From Mumbai to Abu Dhabi, Etihad used very nice state of the art airplane but from Abu Dhabi to Nigeria, they used an old rickety Molue Seychelles airplane to convey us down to Nigeria. Before boarding, I raised the issue with the Etihad staff on ground and i was given cold response. One of the passengers who use Etihad a lot confirmed that this is what they do when most passengers travelling to Nigeria are Nigerians... He also said three Nigerians who tried to protest the ill treatment and encouraged others not to board where whisked away by security after Pilot said he could not fly with them on board. It is not like the fare charged by Etihad to Nigeria is lower so i don't understand why Nigerians will be treated like crap by them. I hope those in Authority will look into this. It is just unfair. |
Check this http://npf.gov.ng/tinted OROSUNBOLB: |
I did mine at Enugu central command sometime in February I think. I got it within 2 working days. I only appreciated the ASP who did it for me. He didn't ask me for money. Go to the NPF website. It is very straight fwd. |
Firstbank is crazy especially the one at New Haven, Enugu. Just to replace my expired atm, I was kept at the bank for more than 4hours. The customer service in that branch is very crazy. Sometime 3 months ago in this same branch, I noticed the phone number used for registering my account was changed in their bank server with an unknown number though what was showing on my online page was my actual phone number. When I went for account verification, they refused me access to my account for that reason even after I logged on on my mobile device and showed them the actual phone number on my online page and even offered my bvn. I had to travel to the location I opened my account where I was easily identified and that rectified. The customer service in that new haven branch needs to be re-educated on customer relationship. If not for the pleading from the branch i opened my account, I almost would have closed that account. |
I vote Iamkingzlee cc Nljega |
Hold your Nigerian airways, Arikair etc responsible and not Etihad airways. By the way Ethiopian airways Addis Ababa to New Delhi is Boeing 737, the same Arik air uses for Lagos to Abuja and the flight is 6.5hrs. No inflight entertainment, very poor leg room etc. My point is there are other poor international flights. All international flights no be A380 like planes, so take am easy
