The prospect of a race to the bottom oil price is quite high given the chance of an end to the Ukrainian war and the easing of environmental regulations for US oil companies. |
“After listening to them, I told them I would tell them everything starting from when I was dating. By the time I reached marriage and the birth of my son and first daughter, two of the ladies were crying.Misleading post from a skilled liar. His show sponsors don't care if he was married, cohabiting or divorced. It was all about the domestic violence aspect. He has receipts for everything but not the abuse he meted out. He has always avoided addressing the domestic violence issue directly, preferring to focus on diversionary tactics and unrelated stories instead. As to him remarrying again after divorce, that is not an achievement and neither does it prove anything about his domestic character. He is a "rich man" by Nigerian standard and he is famous to boot, if he wanted 10 wives at once, he could have gotten them without fuss. |
Birmingham university? This look like what a religious private uni will do. It can't possibly be the popular Birmingham uni. |
press9jatv:You are not informed. People get banned everyday on X. Even prominent accounts are not left out. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/06/15/elon-musk-led-twitter-suspended-plainsite-a-prominent-tesla-critic.html https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/journalists-who-wrote-about-owner-elon-musk-suspended-from-twitter https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/15/technology/twitter-suspends-journalist-accounts-elon-musk.html It is people like you that understand politics that will be talking about free speech. Speak against the wrong person and you get banned. |
press9jatv:There is nothing like free speech. You can get banned on any platform and nothing will happen. |
Mrfeel:It has nothing to do with Ooni. She is not the first wife to leave! Makinde has been issuing press releases constantly since the incidents. He makes it seem as if he was dealing with some at large terrorists who are very dangerous to the society. It is even Oyo attorney general that is the prosecutor, a man that never shows up in court unless the governor is personally involved or it is a constitutional issue. |
bitsAndpieces:What do you know about the law That a tragedy happens doesn't mean you must punish someone. The first step is investigation and gathering evidence and then being charged to court. But the tactless Makinde is teleguiding the police and the court on what to do. It is illegal to hold a suspect for more than 48 hours without charge, the police violated rule based on Makinde's instruction. This rule applies even if the suspects have went to each child's house to shoot them. Just because you are bereaved doesn't give you the right to revenge on illegal basis. That is nothing but jungle justice. The underhanded tactics of holding suspects to ransom when the government knows it will eventually lose is alien to any civil justice system. I know many of you see things as black and white and you even feel justified but you can't have a functioning society without accounting for grey areas. |
I suspect Makinde has a private beef with Hamzat. The court should be allowed to do its job without overbearing political influence. |
free2ryhme:No, they won't. This isn't a murder case. It is a bailable offense. Makinde will soon run out of tricks and the court will have no choice but to grant them bail, though it could be with very stringent conditions. |
This ruling against the state assembly is late. Defections and suspension by councilor is the new tactics Okpebolo is using. |
Adjourned to receive instructions on how to proceed. What is the point of delaying bail application for a bailable offence? |
Paramount01:I didn't really dig deep. He was all over a previous thread praising Abioye and attacking Oyedepo. He claimed everybody felt the absence of Abioye and the church is no longer as it was. He made it seem like he was a long-time insider, not just ordinary member, in the church. Imagine my surprise when he started attacking the church this time, having forgotten that he is supposedly a devout member. |
Soludo playing dangerous game especially in a region where they neither forget nor forgive. |
MadamVanessa:Why attend a programe of a church that you claim is tribalistic? How does that make sense to you? I understand it is very hard keeping up with multiple lies and identities. You forgot your previous fake membership/attendance when you needed to launch a new unrelated attack. Perhaps, you need to switch account? |
Hurray! The jerry curl fat kid has spoken. He must be obeyed. |
MadamVanessa:You claimed to attend programmes of the church and even stated that you missed the presence of Abioye in the Church. |
MadamVanessa:So you attend a tribalistic church or you were lying when you claimed to be a member? |
VillageOracle00:It will have make sense if it was based on a Russian calender, unfortunately, the Christmas date is still based on a European(Roman calendar). |
trium:You are the one suffering from deep inferiority complex. Russia, A Europe/Asia country is celebrating Christmas using a Calender invented by a European, Julius Caeser and you didn't waste time in attacking Africans. The idea of Christmas is entirely a European invention. If Africans that you hate choose to adopt the religion founder's/spreader's Christmas date, that shouldn't be an headache for you as it makes perfect sense. As to the people congratulating Russia, nobody will care if it was a tiny non-significant country. BTW, muslims don't celebrate Christmas. |
lereinter:So, if the announcement was to feed 100 instead of 5000 people and some people died, they shouldn't face trial? |
KonTagiousBull:You misunderstand my point. This isn't about right or wrong but proper tact and following through with one's conviction. Odili lack the stamina to engage Wike in public fight, yet he did. That is not even the issue, what I find irritating is that he he is claiming victimhood/elderly immunity after getting reactions to its action. What did he expect, a hug? |
Politics won't allow for withdrawal. If he withdraws, he will lose his hardman reputation. Nigerians generally prefer hardmen to those who compromise. |
Basic123:Apparently not with pride! https://www.channelstv.com/2015/04/06/oba-of-lagos-clarifies-allegations-of-threat-to-igbos/ |
Agbegbaorogboye:Odili was cowardly confrontational. Everybody knows who the "one man wanted to make Rivers their private estate" and also fighting Fubara means, unless they are pretending or uninformed. Even in subsequent media counter-punches, neither Odili, nor his aides denied the intended target of his attack. |
It seems Odili's sense has been restored. It was very foolish of him to engage in public verbal fight against Wike, when he has numerous aides that can do it. Besides, everybody knows Wike is uncouth. When Akpabio said only a mad man will fight Wike, some think it is a praise, but it can also be interpreted in the negative sense. |
It is not scarce. It is just expensive. Blame weather and bandits. |
Max24:What the hell is this supposed to mean? Can you cite any law in any country where "taking advantage" is a crime or even an infarction? Can you even define such vague term? Very few issues get employers in trouble in "developed countries". Failure to pay minimum wage, witholding salary, breaching contracts and non-adherence to safety standards. You see none of it involves being extra nice or in good book of employees. And this mostly applies to official position, those in the service/entertainment industry have it worse. They have the lowest and the highest paid "workers" depending on how essential their service is to a business. Nigeria must change in all ramifications starting from us as individuals. This makes no sense. There is no country in the world where employer altruistically pay workers more than they should. It is either a legal requirement(minimum wage), attempt to prevent workers from leaving or ploy to starve poorer competitions of top talents. Again, you misunderstand the wages and labor market. Gone ate the days when you pay your employees unfair wages while you maintain girlfriends with children all over the world. People are wiser now. There is nothing like unfair wages. There are either legal or illegal wages. As long as he pays a legal wage and he is not owing them, he owes the employees nothing more. There are two ways to get increased renumeration, either through government mandate(minimum wage) or unionism. Blackmail doesn't work regardless of the number of years spent with an employer. If you know anything about "developed countries", this won't be new information to you as entitlement is culturally frowned upon. |
Max24:He is not owed anything outside is legal wage. Your employer is not your parent! |
Biodun556:There were seasonal/occasional scarcity as obtained prior and after his admin. Mind you, there was widespread scarcity less than 3 months ago. |
Softmirror:No, like every other human, he has failed multiple times in the past. At some point, everybody's luck runs out. |
kedeojo:Explain why the "south" will support Tinubu's reelection. |
