neily:
@xterra2 u re irrational, just look at your reason for supporting IBB.
Am not I dont wanna see him as our president beyond may 29 2011
IF you dont like IBB to win then obviously you will like his opponent to win
SO same as me here,I dont like jonathan to win so i support IBB and i think he can defeat jonathan
Like in soccer,if you are a man utd fan you will like wigan, blackburn and all other clubs to defeat chelsea, arsenal and tottenham cause they are rivals to they team you support you want man utd to win and chelsea, arsenal, spurs could spoil the show you you have to support other clubs when they are playing against chelsea, arsenal and spurs,
Anyway, lets start our own campaign of IBB here on NL
Think about my reasons clearly by the way

PapaBrowne:
All those speaking against the airport are doing so based on a very illiterate understanding on the concept of PPPs.
This project is a public private partnership. In most cases, the money used for the project would be sourced form the private sector.
The concessionaire would have to make returns on his investment for crying out loud!

Now let me ask you illiterates, is it possible for a private company to make its money back by building hospitals for poor people?? Or by repairing state schools?? Or by building homes for slum dwellershuh My friends, the private sector would invest only where they would make sizey returns on their investments.

The beautiful thing about PPPs is that since the private sector is there to fund huge infrastructure projects that have potential for good ROIs, the Government can now use it's scarce resources to fund non-profitable areas like hospitals for the poor, low cost housing, state school infrastructure and the likes.

Please Nairalanders educate yourselves, even if it is just a little!!

If lagos wanna be a mega-city(did i say wanna be it is starting to be) more people would come considering it is the commercial center of this great country.
Okay for dumb people who say that how many lagosians out of   15 million could afford it?Okay maybe 6 or 7 i dont know but what about foreigners who come to nigeria?mostly they come through lagos then use domestic to abuja.(b4 idiots abuse me i said MOSTLY)
And of lagos is a mega city(like i said it is becoming) then more airports would be needed,e.g is London how many airports do they have?(not sure)
And is a PPP

PoliticsRe: Plans To Impeach Bankole Intensify by xterra2(m): 8:40pm On Apr 19, 2010
naijaking1:
How does not removing sick or dead Yar'dua promote our our democracy huh
If you think that sticking a dead body in our face and calling him president means democracy, you should think again.
What other democracy in the World will a president "disappear" and without any sort of official notification for almost six months, and still have people calling him president?
Okay think of it this way
First, read section 145  of the constitution.
Okay now is Jonathans 'acting' presidency legal or not?It is illegal and unconstitutional
We all know that,so assuming yaradua is removed using section 144 you think 'friends of yaradua'(theres actually a group called that) would sit and relax hell no!They will go to court praying that jonthans 'acting' presidency is illegal and guess what the court would heed to the prayer why?cus it is stated clearly in the constitution and it was not obeyed,so it is illegal and unconstitutional and all actions jonathan took as acting president would be declared null and void.
So which means that the dissolving of the cabinet is illegal as he has no power to do so as vice-president so the old ministers would be back and they would not agree to section 144 so yaraduas is back as president and jonthan as his vice not acting on his behalf,
Now naijaking tell me is this not gonna bring crisis to our dear Nigeria?

I believe it is a sign of respect!
Correct were your observations
Not only in government buildings,in private places like schools, car dealers, private offices, universities, bureau de change e.t.c
It should be a sign of respect and showing of superiority for example of you have been to a director generals office, you will see the photo of the minister the DG is working under, vice president and then President.
if you have been to a office of any major general for example, you will see a photo of the chief of army staff, chief of defence staff, minster of defence and commander in chief.
Well,thats how nigerians do it.
This is ridiculous!
Jonathan set out to meet the President of the United States and he chose putting on an ugly hat and a dull coloured lace? undecided
Whatever happened to dressing in an Official manner? undecided
Like wearing a suit or something similar? undecided
And look at the way he  puts his legs apart as he's seating and chatting with Obama. undecided
Oh no! SO should he wear suits because he visits a so called western country
Thats Goodluck's SWAG.Even OBJ and President Yaradua on visit to western countries or any other foreign country they always wear their 9ja/traditional/attire cloth.Yaradua wears his hausa cap, baban riga + palms(as 9ja call it).Obj wears his own best clothes.
When the prime minister of india + his wife went for a state visit to US,that US organised a dinner @ white house for them(i remembered vividly because of the security breach @ white house)do you see them indians? They wore their indian clother and the PM's wife with that red shit on her forehead.
And it i not riddiculous mama gee.
Plus i swear i dey feel the hat Where do dey sell it ma self, make i go buy one
And as far, they sitting way, most Western leaders to so,bush, obama, brown e.t.c
But we are not in the west and thats not our style it is theirs so let them use their and let us use ours.
BTW,as a male, sitting crossing your legs is not nice it makes u look gay, females do that.right?

PoliticsRe: Jonathan And Muttalab Meet ! by xterra2(m): 9:11pm On Apr 09, 2010
Infact, the idiotic mutallab may not be on Jonathans and obamas mind. What they will talk the more is how US are going to lend their support to Jonathans presidency.Remember the statement that US did when yaradua came back, saying that will further bring political logjam and bring more difficulties and also, cause further friction in naija(not exact quotes-but what they said), How dare them?.For god sake, this is his country and whether they like it or not(even we) he is the PRESIDENT!Legally for crying out loud, so he shouldnt come back US?huh, when the whole country was shouting for him to come back respect his citizens word!
People were shouting and throwing insults at Gaddafi when he said divide Nigeria!even Nigeria recalled its ambassador to Libya.WTF are you kidding me?because he said so.Okay fine but lets face it US SAID FAR WORSE THAN THAT RIGHT TO OUR FACE and the statement they made after yaradua came is another calamity!.
Let me be clear,i dont hate jonathan or obama, nor like yaradua but heres the truth and i dont oppose his going to US(even though i do what can i do? huh huh huh)I hope they discuss on thing that will make naija better.
Lets face it
Am not saying they wont talk on mutallab, they will but not much!

PoliticsRe: Jonathan To Meet Obama On Sunday by xterra2(m): 8:10pm On Apr 08, 2010
He(jonathan) has to be carefully, because the cabal have a big chance here to undermine him. They could do a 'civilian coup'.The era of military coup in 9ja is over. The cabals will do something big i mean very big.
But on the other hand, the visit is tempting as a vice-president he never went for meetings such big ones, meeting obama,hu,sarkozy, putin e.t.c
But he should NEVER think of staying long.
PoliticsCourt Okay Suits To Impeach Yar'adua by xterra2(op): 10:29pm On Apr 07, 2010
THOSE pushing for the impeachment of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua because of his ill-health got a major legal backing yesterday.

Justice Anwuri Chikere of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has cleared the Borno State governorship aspirant of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), Alhaji Bukar Al-Amin and Max Ozoaka to commence moves of impeaching the ailing President through the newly-constituted Executive Council of the Federation (EXCOF).

Thirty eight ministers were sworn-in yesterday by the Acting President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

The first weekly meeting of the newly-appointed ministers to be chaired by Jonathan will hold today at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Justice Chikere specifically granted leave for the applicants to apply for an order of mandamus for Yar’Adua’s removal on the grounds that he is incapable of discharging the functions of his office.

The order in question is to compel the Attorney-General and Justice Minister, Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN), to convene a meeting for the purpose of considering and passing a resolution declaring Yar’Adua incapable of discharging the functions of his office.

Justice Chikere, however, asked the applicants to put the respondents on notice within seven days and serve same with the order for the leave.

The suit was adjourned till April 20, 2010.

The applicants, in their suit, are seeking a declaration of the court to the effect that having regard to the prevailing political circumstances in the country, the respondents and members of EXCOF are under an obligation to act upon the provisions of Section 144 of the 1999 Constitution to consider and pass a resolution declaring Yar’ Adua incapable of discharging the functions of his office.

They are also praying for an order of injunction compelling the respondents to carry out and discharge the duty imposed on them by the provisions of Section 144 of the 1999 Constitution, to wit; hurriedly convene a meeting of its members for the purpose of considering and passing a resolution declaring Yar’ Adua incapable of performing the functions of his office.

The applicants hinged their action on the following grounds: That by virtue of Section 144 of the 1999 Constitution, the defendant and members of the EXCOF are under a legal obligation to sincerely and objectively consider and pass a resolution declaring Yar’ Adua incapable of performing the functions of his office.

•The applicants, indeed the entire citizens of Nigeria, are entitled to be politically led and governed at every level in this country, more so at the apex level, by a verifiably healthy citizen.

•That the leadership of the nation, including Nigeria, requires a sound fit and proper mental and physical condition of health. This is the rationale behind the provision of Section 144 of the constitution.
