Music experts, where are u? Am still waiting |
Actually, I've settled for North Cyprus. There's a guy in a University there who is doing a very nice job. To be candid, I called Yemmy since I discovered he stays in Ikorodu and I work in Ikorodu. I asked for his advise on which country he thinks would be affordable and easy to access for this purpose. He told me 'Cyprus'. Like I said, I already settled for NC and have already contacted the University and have been told what documents to send so I really would not need a go-between. While I may not endorse Yemmy outright, I must say that he did not sound to me as a desperate guy. And Like I said above, his answer tallies with what I already knew. But the truth is detecting a scam goes beyond how the person sounds. Some people may genuinely wish to help even if it will involve some illegality. Whether it is right for them to do so is a different matter entirely. And like I said earlier, those who go the illegal route will probably not be doing it if there are no active collaborators at the embassies and immigration offices. To me, a scam is when a fellow collects money and fails to deliver or delivers fake papers. But if he delivers genuine papers even if procured illegally, then it is no longer a scam because a contract was entered into and he delivered. |
justwise:Tanx Justwise for pointing the difference out. But since both sides are determined to fight it to the end, I'm off to some other threads. I am an old man (will be 50 next April) who came here to see if I could help one of my daughters who graduated three years ago see if I can get a school overseas for her. Otherwise, I have no business here. I guess you people are a lot younger than me and have so much energy to hurl insults and abuses at each other. Permit me to end with this small story. Sometimes ago in a village, a farmer after a hard day's work retired to a nearby river to have a bath. After removing all his clothes, he dived into the river. A few minutes later, he emerged to see the village mad man making away with his clothes. Our friend jumped out of the river and gave chase. The mad man was in front in his tattered clothes, the farmer was behind completely naked. So the two ran into the middle of the town. Soon a crowd was gathered and started screaming that the farmer had gone mad. So the village in spite of farmer's vehement protestations to the fact that he was not mad became known as the village of two mad men. Have a wonderful time all of you. |
@ ALL I have stayed away from this thread for a few days because I am completely nauseated by what is going on here. Why should a post by an individual generate all this hate? Why is none of these gladiators acting mature? Why all these name calling. Someone offers a service which another considers a scam. And all hell is let loose. My advise, if Justwise really believes this is a scam, I think he has had his say and should leave the thread alone. Afterall, he does not have to patronize Yemmy7. On the other hand, Yemmy7 too should learn to ignore Justwise if he will not stop his campaign and just continue to deal with those who have been calling him. Let this matter not degenerate into Fela's song: You be thief! I no be thief!!. It's certainly making this thread a nightmare for those of us who have come here to access information. Besides, I believe all visitors to NL ought to be mature enough to identify scams without any dictation or policing from any other person. I believe there is a warning on the first page of the thread. When you drive to some public places, one often see such signs as, "Cars parked at owners risk". Once that sign is visibly placed, it becomes the responsibility of the one parking the car. I do not have to stand there and shout. I leave every car owner to make their decision. I wish to end by saying that if either parties read this post and do not feel happy about it, no one should abuse me. I am not a young man and I will not tolerate insults being poured on me simply because I have offered advice. And if you people insist on continuing with throwing insults at each other, then all I can do is wish you the best of time wasting. |
Please I need help on how to make my wireless internet connection secure. Someone just told me that anybody can use my wireless internet connection for criminal activities and I will be liable since it is not secured. Please how do I password it. I use a Dlink router. Thank you |
Kobojunkie:Dear brother, I really do not have official figures. What I gave was an estimated figure. But I do believe you can get that from the Area Education Office (especially if you are willing to drop something) |
Nija4Life:Of course, I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately the present situation in many parts of Nigeria today is that people see it as a business. It's not limited to Ore or Odigbo LGA. True these schools are not better alternative, but until a better alternative is provided they remain the only alternative. If government were alive to its responsibilities, no illegal school will exist for a term before irt is closed down. I think schools which have existed for several years and found to be substandard should be taken over by Government and their proprietors compensated for the efforts in starting them in the first place. It will be unfair to them and the students who attend them to just close them without any plan for the students or pupils in them. Another point is that some of the substandard schools exist in communities where there are no public schools at all and some of them are more than 20km from Ore town. |
@ Poster I will advise that you do not despair because of what you have seen in your present church. I experienced the same thing about 22 years ago. Then I stopped going to church because I saw my church then was not helping me achieve my goal of attending the church which was to know God more, obey him and get ready for his second coming as stated in the Bible. Then God spoke to me and led me to my present church. Before then, I never knew the name nor its location. But that fateful morning of Sunday July 15, 1990, I set out to look for a colleague at work whose lifestyle had challenged me on several occasions. When I saw her, I asked, "Where is your church?" She gave me directions and my wife and I were the first in the church that day. The sermon of that day convinced me I had come to the right place and since I have never looked back. And His grace has been sufficient for me. The name of my church? No I won't tell you. Rather, I will adfvise that you sit down and think and know why you really go church. Below are some suggestions: a. To have a swell time - be entertained b. To meet friends c. To while away time d. To fulfill all righteousness e. To have victory over your enemies f. For prosperity and promotion g. To know more about God and how to do his will so you cn make heaven at the end of your life etc Now the answer you come with will determine which church you settle for. |

Where do you get those numbers from, I mean the 25,000 figure?Do you know how many private secondary schools are in Ore? Do you know several of these schools have population en excess of 500? Believe me, I was there and still visit the place. If you doubt me, try pay a visit to Ore and see the myriad of school uniforms. Maybe you will believe me. |
No, I never said or implied that these schools are havens of academic excellence. I only explained why they are springing up and will continue to do so. As I type this, more entrepreneurs are getting set to start new schools in Ore. My point is if Government does not want these so called mushroom schools, then let them provide alternatives. To clamp down on these schools without first providing an alternative is akin to beating a child and asking him not to cry. And to make matters worse, most of these proprietors are teachers in public schools in Ore! |

@ all Tanx for ur response. I'll getbin touch in a few hours. I'm off to housefellowship |
I do not really think the father should be called names. It is the situation in our land that make parents to behave like this. Most job adverts state 2:1 as minimum requirement. I was not happy when one of my daughters ended up with a 2:2. First, I knew if she had focused on her studies while at school, she would have made a First class. But she allowed herself to be distracted by fashion and boys and even though I kept warning her, she did not listen until it was too late. If she had not sat up in her final year she would have had a 3rd Class. Now its one thing to advise the guy to get a job and move out. But where are the jobs? One is not saying that to make a 2:2 or 3rd Class is the end of life but how many parents have funds to send their children to England. Rich parents most times do not care what grades their children make because they have the necessary connection and funds to send their children overseas. My opinion is that children from poor homes should realize that the odds are against them heavily iof they do not make the right grades in Nigeria. And it is not true that parents expect their children to do what they could not do. I graduated with a 2:1 at 20 from the University of Ibadan. Every parent wants the best for their children. Besides when the children are unable to secure jobs they still remain the responsibility of the parents! |

Tanx. I won't bleach at all ooooooo |
Ore is not a Local Government. It is the headquarter of Odigbo LGA. And Odigbo LGA is the largest in Ondo State. I have given reason why Ore needs more public schools. Ore is expanding at an alarming rate. Most people who travel through Ore just go through the expressway and do not know that the real town is off the express way. So they have no idea how big it is. How can two secondary schools meet the need of 25000 students (and this is just an estimate) 00 students |
The government of Ondo State told us Ariscent School was not approved yet it had pupils in Primary 6. This means it was not a new school. So what was the Area Education Officer doing while the school was in operation for 6 years? I challenge anyone who cares to visit the so called mushroom private schools and see how filled they are with pupils and students. If they are substandard, how come parents are still sending their children there? The answer is simple. They do not have any alternative. Do you know how much many of these schools pay their teachers? Graduates are paid N5000 - N12000. At least as a senior principal I was earning N8000 monthly and that was after three years! But wait, what fees do these schools charge? Primary schools charge between N800 and N2000 per month. The most expensive of them charge N5000 while most secondary schools in Ore charge below N10000 a month. Education inspectors visit the schools just to be settled. The AEO collects commission on virtually every thing - Common entrance examination, WAEC registration, ID card production, etc etc. Schools get approved if they can settle the Ministry officials. That is the story of Ore private schools amd there is nothing any one can do about it if Government fails to provide more public schools |
The problem is neither WAEC nor the proprietors of these mushroom schools. Let me say that I am an auhtority on education in Odigbo LGA with its headquarter in Ore having taught in a public school in Ore and headed a private school in the same Local Government. The truth is that Ore is the LGA with the least number of public primary and secondary schools in South Westeern Nigeria. I stand to be cahllenged. Here is a list of public secondary schools in Ore: 1. Muslim High School, Ore 2. Community High School, Ore That's all. And this for a town adjudged by the UN as one of the fastest growing towns in South Western Nigeria! Without any exaggeration, the population of Ore will have exceeded the Ome million mark with more than 60% being of school age. Only two secondary schools. My village where I come from in Ekiti has two secondary schools and the population cannotg be more than 5000. As for primary schools, this is the list: 1. Beulah Baptist Primary School 2. St Mark's Primary School 3. Methodist Primary School 4. St. Paul's Primary School 5. Muslim primary School 6. CAC Primary School Compare with my village (population less than 5000) where there are 4 primary Schools! So why blame proprietors who come in to provide what government has failed to provide? |
Please what do I do. My friend says I look like Alao Akala and may be arrested by EFCC if I try to travel through any of our airports. What do I do now?
|
Some of them shout 'Jesus'. Whether they do it intentionally or involuntarily is what I am not able to say. |
Caveat Emptor! They do it on purpose. While you are busy looking at the cleavages, you will not focus on the transaction. At the end of the day you get robbed! As for me, I focus on my money so I do not see the temptation. Besides most female bankers find it difficult to get husbands. Who wan marry wife wey no go reach house before 10pm every day. So their loose dressing is to attract suitors. |
Are u an undergraduate? If yes, your grammar is embarrassing. Anyway, the answer to your question: Nigerian Universities use outdated program software to teach their students because the universities themselves are old and outdated. Chikenah! Next Question please? |
Post ur email address here and I will send you a software that does this easily |
Goggle the question and you will find out how easy it is |
@ Justwise Yes, I see a million things wrong with WAEC questions being posted online and I do not encourage it. That was why I said I was shocked to find the questions were real. My point however is that one would think it impossible initially and so may rush to call the poster a scammer. In fact some people did only to eat their words later. See as I type this now, Questions and answers to NECO Biology Practical have been online since Monday and the paper is not due to be written until tomorrow. When one sees such things and they are confirmed to be true questions, one begins to wonder if there is really anything that is impossible in this country. And I think it might be a little hasty to conclude that something is impossible until one proves it. As for the e-passport, that should be obvious to anyone who knows the procedure. So if Yemmy27 made that claim, he must definitely have a way of getting round that problem. Whether that way will be acceptable is now left for the applicant to decide. |
@ Justwise My brother, I know how you feel and why you always respond the way you do to most posts. There are too many con artists in our land, but that does not mean that every one is out to scam the other fellow. I believe there are still a few who would render genuine service if the pay is good. And do not ever believe that embassy staff cannot be bought. Every man has a price. I would probably just advise that when you read a post that seems to you like a scam, you leave other readers to decide for themselves whether to go along with the poster instead of allowing everybody to paint you bad when in actual fact you are only trying to help. You know it is said that the dog that would get lost never listens to the hunter's whistle. Sometimes last month someone posted on the education forum that he can bring up live WAEC questions before the examination. I reacted the same way you have always reacted. But I changed my opinion two days later when I confirmed the questions posted several hours before the paper was written to be real! It was shocking to say the least. Hope you do not find my comments offensive? |
elijah05:Can you give my Yemmy27's contact pls? |
Will Ikorodu qualify for Ketu and environs? |
