Sorry folks, the Geography vacancy has been filled. However Music and Yoruba teachers are still required. As for music, you need not be a graduate of music. Proof of training in music plus evidence of ability to play at least three musical instruments is enough. For Yoruba graduates of Yoruba or graduates in related discipline who possess NCE in Yoruba will be considered. Call 08098750509 to schedule an interview. Please do not call to ask about other positions as those positions are not vacant. |
These positions are still vacant. Although we have been conducting interviews, we have not been impressed by the quality of the applicants. If you know you have what it takes to effectively teach any of these subjects call the Administrator on 08098750509 to fix an interview appointment. Once again, I appeal that applicants for other subjects should not bother as we do not have vacancies in other areas at the moment. |

ANOTHER CASE OF MASS FAILURE!!! It was another sad day for many parents and students yesterday as mass failure characterised the results of the 2011 June/July Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) announced by the National Examination Council (NECO). And while a total of 1,190,393 candidates registered for the examination, 1,160561 actually sat for it. However, Registrar/Chief Executive of the Council, Prof. Promise M. Okpala, exonerated the examination body from the poor showing by students.Giving a breakdown of the results yesterday, Okpala revealed that; Out of the 1,190,393 who registered for English Language, 1,160,049 actually sat for the examination. While only 2,119 or 0.18% came out with distinction, 263,777 or 22.16% came out with credit pass, 76,224 or 6.40% failed while there were 51,312 incidents of malpractice. In Mathematics, 1,190,365 registered for the subject while 1,156,561 sat for it, with only 3,356 or 0.28% passed with distinction and 295,961 or 24.86% got credit; 7, 7,395 or 60.27% passed, 89,023 or 7.48% failed while 50,826 or 4.27% malpractices were recorded. Other core science subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Further Mathematics also recorded mass failure with high degrees of malpractices also recorded. Prof. Okpala said while the Federal Government and some states have already taken bold steps to improve on the educational standard, all stakeholders will have to be patient before reaping the good results, adding that “the high expectations cannot be achieved immediately because change in the behavioral pattern of children takes time”. On whether the Council has an approved syllabus for its candidates and whether schools are being monitored in strict compliance with the approved syllabus, the Registrar said: “In as much as NECO has an approved and standard syllabus, strict compliance with it rests sorely in the hands of each school to ensure that the syllabus is covered in terms of teaching.” In his words: “It cannot be proper for any external examiner to go into schools to analyse how they are teaching their students and for the same examiner to oversee the marking of answer sheets of such students.” |
I just confirmed this from NECO official website = www.mynecoexams.com. Guys check your result and lets celebrate with you! |

chineds:If you step on your break and it fails, you may still not be involved in a fatal accident. It all depends on the speed at which you stepped on your brake. For me, I pay a lot of attention to my speed when I drive. I drive to stay alive not to make a record of how soon I got to my destination. Two weeks back, I traveled from Ore to Lokoja and spent seven hours to cover the distance. My daughter whom I went to visit laughed at me. According to her some people do the journey in 3 hours! But I was happy that I arrived safely because I ensured that I never exceeded 80km/h throughout the trip. My return journey took me five and half hours not because I sped more but because it was a Sunday and the road was relatively free. The truth must be told the way it is. Most accidents on Nigerian roads are as a result of over speeding and blatant disregard for road signs and the highway code. unfortuantely the FRSC men who are supposed to see to these things busy themselves with other things! |
Sorry, I mean everyone know Nigerian Roads are bad. Pardon that slip of the keyboard. |
@ all Neither the road nor the government is to be blamed for the death of our artists in road mishaps. Rather, blame the artists who drive as if they have a duplicate life. I have been driving on the Lagos - Benin Road for the past 10 years, sometimes up to thrice a week and to the glory of God, I have not had a single accident. That is not to say that roads should not be made better, but my take is that accidents do not happen they are caused. Everyone knows Nigerian roads are not bad, so there is need for extra care. Drivers should not put themselves under pressure when embarking on a long journey. They should set off early enough. Besides, a good rest a day before the long journey will keep the driver awake and alert. Not only that, drivers should aty away from all intoxicants before and during a trip. Finally, if I were going for my traditional wedding or any joyous occasion, I would rather not drive myself as the joyful occasion one is going may make one ever-excited. Nigerian stars should learn to employ the services of trained professional drivers. It does nto cost much! Our artists should stop wasting their lives and causing us unnecessary sorrow. He that has ears, let him hear what the spirit says, |

nsodo:Exactly what I think. |
Fellow Nairalanders, I see a trend building up in Nigeria education sector. Most Nigerian private schools, even those who can hardly pay good salaries to first degree holders now advertise for PHD holders for wmploymwent as Principals. Do you really think possession of a PHB will make a man an effective Principal? If you own a school, which will you go for - A PHD holder or an experienced and dedicated man with a history of provable results? Please share your views freely on this. |

WAEC never at any time did any upgrade. Their website experienced a glitch that turned up those 'new' results' you saw. However once WAEC discovered the error, it prevented access to the result of portal. But now the problem has been resolved and the old and original result has been restored. |

temmyborode:Reasons why you may not get a good Principal 1. You are focusing too much on Paper Qualification 2. You are focusing on recruiting from your locality. A reputable school should have an official accommodation for her Principal 3. You are advertising at a time when an applicant who is currently engaged will not be able to give enough resignation notice. No good Principal worth his onions will walk away from his school just a few days to the beginning of a new session. Also makes applicants to suspect that your principal either walked away or was sacked due to non performance or irreconcilable differences with the Management Suggestions: 1. Focus on experience and competence rather than paper qualification 2. Rent an official residence (3-bedroom flat) so you can have candidates from far and wide 3. Focus on having the successful candidate resume in January 2012. Just trying to help. No offence meant. Best of luck in your search. |

This is not true. There is no remarking. The website is just experiencing some challenges. The old result isn the valid result and will soon reappear. This is authentic, so stop day dreaming |
Do not worry too much. In a few days, the results will be available. The website is actually experiencing some problems. |
Dr.otunba:Please ignore this post. WAEC has not done any upgrade. The former results still stand. Sorry to spoil the joy of those who are already rejoicing about the supposed upgrade. My investigation showed there was a glitch which resulted in the 'new results' sighted earlier today. WAEC acted promptly by pulling the resultant result off line. I'm sure that soon the old result will be back. I advise all to exercise patience until this is done. |
Actually it was one of my ex-students who called to intimate me that he had credits in all his subjects as against the result the school downloaded earlier which showed he had a D7 in Economics that started it all. I immediately reached out for the printout on my table to check. There it was D7 in Economics. Fortunately, I still had the card with which I checked the result. I fed the card details into the WAEC portal and pronto, a new result came out. Not only did the boy's Economics read C6, but other subjects too were affected all for the better. So I decided to check all of my candidates again. I was able to check the first 9 and all had new results. However an attempt to check others failed as it kept saying the candidates had no result for the year indicated. Two things are my guess; 1. That WAEC discovered some errors and adjusted the results accordingly. This I find hard to believe as in my over 20 years of school administration, I have never experienced that. 2. That WAEC website has been compromised (hacked into). This might be the reason why the portal has been returning error messages ever since. However, I shall continue to monitor the situation and report back to the house. |
obo2t:No he is not. He has only ordered his priority right. The foundation of education is more important that the roof. Why give scholarships to undergraduates who lacked good preparation in primary and secondary school. University education is not compulsory and can not be by force. In any case why give scholarships to undergraduates who waste such funds on BBs and other irrelevant items. |
