Sincerely I don't know my school response rate
Bsc OOU
Masters Unilag
I don't know much about OOU but I know Unilag is fast and efficient. My advice would be to evaluate only your masters with WES. It will give you maximum points and less stress.

Thank you so much. You are my new bestfriend.

It was so unexpected. When I remember how I was beating myself up on not appealing for a remark for my IELTS or how my husband should have done his earlier. Truly, it was not by my strength or wit. I didn't even do any vigil on Ray of Hope thread today. Na now the real work start.

Following this result you posted, i checked my profile but i have not been invited. my crs is 450 and i submitted my application last night.

Do you think i will get an invite?
All things being equal, you should get it. Wait for at least 24 hours for your profile to be updated with your ITA.

so which is preferable for One with Bsc Geology and Masters in GIS
I prefer WES but it also depends on your school. Is your school quick to respond? Do they have a way to respond to the verification request?

please what is the difference in using IQAS and WES
They are different evaluating bodies. People use whichever one suits them. IQAS is cheaper, they don't send back for verification once they receive transcript so this makes them preferable for universities that you find hard to get information from. They used to be faster but are now seriously overwhelmed. They are also better for lawyers.

WES is now faster. It's better for foreign degrees and those with HND/OND i think. They collect transcript and still send back for verification so it makes the process longer and harder for some. They are also more expensive.

I understand you very well but I still believe we have a role to play as parents in teaching our kids good Nigeria culture.

Let me cite an example, I met a 6 year old girl in a party last week. She had never been to Naija before but she was speaking Igbo fluently and she was so proud of it. I felt so ashamed of myself cos my son cannot speak Yoruba at all.
We are so quick at embracing western culture and we forget our own culture. We all want our kids to speak English with their accents. We make fun of people with Nigerian accent, whereas, English people have numerous funny accents themselves. You need to hear the terrible English ("You was" for example) a lot of them speak here despite the fact that that is all what they know how to speak.

There are loads of examples that I can give but I don't want to derail this thread. So let's stick to discussions on how to get Canada PPR. grin
For me, it is inevitable. I can't speak my language so nothing to teach. Like you said, when we meet in Canny, we can continue this discussion.

Why won't you want your kids to identify with Naija?

As for me, I want my kids to identify with the good Nigeria/ Western culture and discard the bad ones.
There are still a lot of good things about Nigeria and a lot of bad things about western culture. Just saying my opinion though..
Let me explain what i mean. I have seen kids that go abroad when they are really young. Most of them remember Nigeria like a fairy tale. They can come once in a while but they won't be so gung-ho about it. After a while, their kids don't even think about Nigeria and on it goes. My uncle in the US had his 4 kids in Naija before relocating to US. He later had 2 there. They come to visit when their dad has pressed them a lot but that's just it. I was quite surprised that in US, they were even more Naija than we in Naija in terms of their associations and stuff. But it was in the older generations. The younger ones are not so keen.

I would encourage them as much as possible to remember Naija but i know that once they are abroad, Naija will be less important to them. It's inevitable.

Hi..
Good morning to you.
Can you kindly direct me.
I have a transcript that is addressed elsewhere not to IQAS or WES. Should I use tear it open and scan it.
And can I omit transcript and only scan and send my degree result only.
I only know that transcripts is sealed and sent via mail to a particular address by my alma mata.(as I have always done before now)

Pls help with clarification. I don't seem to understand this.
Get a new transcript from your school and send to them. Someone has had an issue of sending their transcript themselves but WES disregarded it because it didn't come from the normal location/ via the normal courier service that the school uses. If you will send it yourself, ensure that you send it from your school location and they tell you their usual courier company.

Also, it has to be sealed and stamped across the flap. Let it be addressed to them. Don't scan to them, they will disregard it. After they have sent your transcript, fax your degree certificate to them.

Hi, something I think about this subject is if one can hold 3 citizenship I.e Nigerian, Canadian and American. If one has to drop one by law am thinking one may want to choose US cos Canadian citizenship may already give same opportunities as American. One may still like to keep the nigerian citizenship maybe just to maintain the root. With this view, it may be better to submit the Nigerian passport as I don't know the implication of withdrawing the citizenship with which the PR was granted. Your views house.
Nigerian root wetin? All of these things we are doing is to remove limitations from my kids. Nigerian passport is the least valuable, I will glady drop it for them. Most of our kids will hardly identify with Naija anyways and their kids will do same.

Evaluate your degree, register for English test. Once you have both results, then you can commence the registration process.

This is a tricky one.
In the case your coy doesn't want to address "to whom it may concern", the general advice is to use the address in quote. I'd just go one on it and say you can modify to the below in order to remove any immigration suspicion. Ultimately, though, you owe it to your employer to know that you may be migrating. Don't you think?

Central Intake Office (CIO)
IRCC,
Sydney, Nova Scotia,
Canada.

Maybe someone else has a better idea.
Thanks. All I owe them is a month's notice. What I do after that is my business. Actually, it's for my husband. He won't be resigning until like a year later so don't want him to miss promotions and stuff just because they believe he is emigrating.

I need a little help. I am preparing my reference letter template to send to HR. Can it be addressed to "Canadian Embassy"? I don't want to tell them it's for immigration purposes and they won't do a "To whom it may concern"letter.

There is Lactogen, Eldorin my boy, Nutristart and some other ones I can't remember now. If you go to the market like Balogun market, buy like half carton at once, the price will reduce.

XX01 things are quite different from US and Nigeria.
@ Alphahandmaiden

Thanks a lot. The thing really disturbed me. I bought plenty formula from my last trip to UK but i have used them all up and to find that cow and gate for hungrier babies is really hard in Naija. Me , i be panicker so had already asked my friend to buy more from UK when she returns in a month's time. Don't know if i can take him back to the last one. Anyways, it didn't kill my first pikin, it will not kill this one. Amen.

Please mamas help me torchlight this issue.

Had a discussion with my friends who are in US. I told her that my baby had stopped breastfeeding and he is currently on Cow and Gate 6 to 12 months. They have been trying to convince me that what we do in Nigeria is wrong. That the baby should be on the formula that says breastmilk substitute suitable from birth. That the formula is okay until 1 year old. That if you are breastfeeding, you don't suddenly change milk because the baby is 6 months that your milk remains the same. The only thing is to support by starting them on new foods or putting them on multivites.

They said that in US, infant milk is regulated so they are very careful. However, anything from 6 months or stage 2 or whatever, is the company's own way of promoting their goods, is not regulated and may contain a lot of additives that's why babies usually have runny stools when they change to the stage 2 milk. And it's not even formula anymore but a kind of follow on milk.

I did some Googling and realised that a lot of people seem to think so. I don't know if it's just paranoia or it's real. Please help me, i am about to buy another carton and it's not cheap. Or should i go back to his milk for hungrier babies?

cc Alphahandmaiden, sugah, feddy, zaynie and any other mama that can help.

We have the same score. If I had known it will take so long, I would have asked for a remark of my writing and maybe that 0.5 would have taken me to 458. But I still have hope. My husband's scores should kick in from next 2 weeks but I hope to get ITA before then.

@Missg, you also need to be careful. Remember that your POF is meant to be all your bank accounts. You don't want to give the impression that you have bank accounts that you didn't declare. Rather submit your application as it is and then top up your account. Send them the updated bank letter via CSE. You can even use 25% of your pension to cover the deficit.

So I was this.king maybe an affidavit will solve all this wahala. Nigeria sha. The stress is just too much
Please get this corrected else you want that mistake to become your permanent name. Get the name and details of an immigration officer and ask him to push it for you. He should call you to come to abuja when it's ready. Even if you have to do another one and pay again. Ensure you correct this. I have seen it boomerang on people before.
