There's something called UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES of every policy action, especially when ill-conceived. This may just be the trigger to the restructuring we've been yearning for. States can make it happen real quick, essentially when action vs intentions will be misrepresented by the ever sentimental fellas.

Traditional rulers well grounded to fight insecurity – Ooni tells Tinubu

Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, has asked President Bola Tinubu to make use of traditional rulers to tackle the issue of insecurity in the country.

The monarch spoke on Friday, during a courtesy visit by the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) to the president at the state house conference centre, Abuja.

Ooni, who is the co-chair of the NCTRN, said Tinubu should not underestimate what traditional rulers can do, given their closeness to the people.

All these court processes are mere legal charades and academic exercise.
Maybe or maybe not. We're here to interrogate the process objectively. I mean mo one would literally stop breathing if the court rules against LP. If our legal system works, it will work for all.

If your statistics here are true, how is that difficult to understand if obi wins in LG with low population with very low margin? Imagine in Lagos where obi said he won just with 10, 000 votes out of high population in Lagos? In real sense, is that win? Yes, win but with very insignificant low margin. So, if obi wins 7-Lgs with low margin like he did in Lagos, he will be having less than 70k because his winning margin are slim/low. At least obidients should always use their senses small before calling people to assist. This is easy to work out!
Funny how many of you are claiming sophistication, whereas you would all fail basic logic test. Is the the vote allocated by an institution that's on trial that's making you deride others? Are you any saner when you discountenace votes suppression and/or inflation in an electoral process? The Lagos you're referring to, by how many votes did PO win it? Did you infer by what INEC declared or actual PUs results with agents? Someone even called another 'toddler'. An assumption of knowledge is worse than ignorance. Nbote:
There's a whole lot that hasn't made sense ever since this thieves started talking about removing subsidy. NNPC have been the sole importers of petrol into this country since 2016 after the last administration came in. So who are they paying subsidy claims to? Remember the last President was the Minister of Petroleum and sat over those transactions and details which is strangely why subsidy payment multiplied in their tenure. Now instead of auditing the NNPC and carrying out forensic analysis to purge the rot from the system and sanitize the industry, they chose to end the subsidy payment schedule agta settling themselves for the past 8 years. And to make matters even worse, they paid for 20% stake in a private Refinery while the state owned refineries have been left to rot
Lol. They will never ask these questions. All they do is regurgitate drivels across WhatsApp groups. I think the minds of an average Nigerian has been captured by primordial sentiments. The poor must keep on giving while the rich keeps on taking. Forget the certificates we parade, there are very few intellectuals left in this country. Since we can't boldly demand accountability without being called 'wailers', the majority will continue to suffer.
PoliticsRe: From #occupynigeria To Muted Groans by XY23: 8:25am On Jun 08, 2023
The disillusioned has been programmed to see every tool of oppression as farming implement for productivity. The irony is that like the generations before them, they will never be free of mental slavery of those they help enthrone. Subsidy, Subsidy... Let's see now if the life of the common man will improve. We are being taxed without recourse to due process, tariffs are increased without anyone asking questions. The poor keeps on giving and the politicians keep taking, yet the poor has been programmed to defend the absurdity.

But another massive burden on the national treasury are the ‘pecks’ of political office holders.

Sufferhead people will soon come for you. Whilst the masses would be sacrificing beyond measures, the politicians are giving up nothing. No change in personnel costs, allowances; nothing. Nemo Judex in Causa Sua

The NLC Chairman endorsed a letter that adopted Peter Obi as the choice of the NLC in February 2023 during the Naira scarcity crisis that affected Nigerian workers. He therefore supported the infliction of pain on Nigerian workers because Obi supported the policy and thought it was going to make Obi win.

On the 1st of May 2023, during Workers' day event, the NLC Chairman stood with Obi on the podium and announced that Obi will reclaim his "delusional" mandate.

There's conflict of interest because the NLC Chairman overtly supports Peter Obi. He is using his position to threaten Nigeria's stability because Peter Obi lost woefully.

Margaret Thatcher did it as the Prime Minister of UK so Tinubu can do it. The Iron Lady dismantled and subdued stronger Trade/ Labour Unions of Britain that has and still has better Labour Laws and judicial independence than Nigeria.

If Tinubu doesn't play politics that destroys the NLC and makes the union irrelevant, I'll score him low.
Lol. Then your already underemployed folks and upcoming generations will continue to suffer the consequences. Some people are too shortsighted. If you know what Labour union is, you won't reason like this in this century.

You still don't get it. Many people like you made the wrong conclusions because of the wrong premise about what Obi represents. What he's saying is we had a chance to dislodge the normal, wrestle power from the run-of-the-mill politicians and give it back to the people. How many 'ordinary' Nigerians won elections in the ruling APC compared to LP? Our electoral and political values would have reset, Obi was only a semblance of the outlier Nigeria needs, not an everyday politicians (like most of you hail the demagogues as strategists). Now, you've reinforced the old order. Who do you see around the new president? Is it the most brilliant minds we have amongst 200 million people? No, same old same old. We saw Ibori yesterday. These men can't serve you in the manner that will help you, if you're not in their cycle. We just wanted a country that works for all. Just watch as we move in circles for the next 4 years. Nothing that will truly benefit the common man (like electricity) will be fixed. We can argue in 2027.

Maybe true, but PO's template of doing so is in public domain. I think the process would have made the difference, especially now that NNPC has pre-empted market forces by pegging their new rate. This whole thing started on the wrong foot. If NNPC sells at 511, how much do you think others will sell? What template did NNPC use in arriving at that rate, for a product that's supposedly been subsidised till 30th June? Assuming, it's because they don't want to pay after 31st May, there's still need to know how they arrived at that price. This is what BT would have first sat down to work out, knowing Nigeria is a complicated place.
