Romance › The Big Question: Why Is The Male Expected To Suffer In Silence When Jilted ? by y3mi(op): 4:25am On Jun 20, 2017*. Modified: 1:08pm On Jun 20, 2017 |
It is generally accepted that hell hath no fury than a woman scorned in love. Agreed, but as much as this proverb seems to be true I think it is unfair to expect the malefolk not to act out when damaged by love, or is the love experienced by males so much difference than the one that allows ladies/women to let loose all hell when lovelorned. Why does society expects the guys to take it as a man ?
Matured and well typed response please. |

solomon4samuel: This is a very devasteting issue that has claimed my mind for too long, and because of that, the curiousity to know what people especially the ladies think on this area was concived. Please this piece is not for any reader to start dellibrating on others affairs. I just want to know the truth about how ladies feel about guys spending for them;if it's one of the ways to show how much they care and vise versa. Dude, thing is...normally it is not a MUST, however in Nigeria it is a MUST due to the way things are upside down but not in a slavish and mumuish. The difference between the impulse to spend on a girl you like/love (mumu) and the propensity to spend on that same girl you like/love is determined by the frequency at which, and how you acquire money. PS Endeavor to spell correctly, let us make Nairaland a better place once again. |

Romance › Re: Love Ain't Enough by y3mi(m): 1:16am On Jun 11, 2017 |
Mimzyy: I have discovered that love doesn't guarantee the success of a relationship. Love cannot help you stick to one person all years round, and on the other hand, cheating isn't always a product of not loving your partner. In fact, loving someone doesn't guarantee not falling in love with someone else. Relationships work out mostly because of our head not our heart. It works out because of our emotional maturity, empathetic intelligence and self discipline because, time will come when you'll see more beautiful, handsome, romantic, intelligent, sexy, rich, curvy and God fearing people than the one you're in a relationship with.
In those times, love will not help you; self control will help you, emotional intelligence will come to your rescue and commitment will keep you going. With those characteristics, no matter how you feel for someone else, the person you're committed to will rank first in your life.
You think happily married people don't see better people than the ones they married? You think they don't feel funny sometimes? You think they don't catch feelings? They do!
But understanding that commitment is greater than feelings is the great arsenal that do destroy that impulse.
You can fall in love with anyone, but building a relationship takes absolutely more than what attracted you to them and takes more than love.
We are too fond of loving when it's convenient and sweet. We are too fond of loving when love is there but that can only last for just the first 3-6 months of the relationship. After then, you'll realise that the feelings have dropped, it's now your responsibility to make it work, not love's responsibility.
Relationships cannot be readymade. You have to build it and it's never always about love, it requires commitment and intelligence. On the long run in marriages, it's not just love that keeps them together forever, it's determination and commitment.
Everyone falls in love; it takes little or no effort to do that. But staying in love? Building a relationship? Only the strong and committed ones do that.
That's why we must find that one person and commit to that one, discipline yourself and bridle your emotions. Building a relationship is hard work, it's like building a career, It's like pursuing a dream. It's always tough, at some point it will be so bitter but you can make it work by putting your heads together, you can scale through the trying time by being focus and committed.
The kind of love that attracts two people together is not the kind of love that will keep them together. Be emotionally strong and be self disciplined.

Justiyke4u: "Why not she and she only" Believe me, when a guy TRULY loves a babe, he loves her to the core of his soul, with or without no string attached. It isn't the same for Nigerian babes, everything to them is a mind-game even when it isn't nor necessitated. I'll paint you an irrefutable scenario if you still disagree, do you? |

Okay.
Buh I doubt my friend who is 37 now is still finding the whole stuff funny, I mean she might be regretting why she didn't just settle with one of the "pursuers" in the first instance.
Not every guy has the patience to keep chasing just one girl for a long time, those who do eventually turn to cheaters and wife beaters.
So my point is:While playing hard to get, You might chase your destined soul mate away and end up with an incompatible fellow.
EOS.... You spoke my mind. Even loaded or not, not all guys can afford the time required to chase after a bae who obviously exhibits an *I'm hard to get* attitude especially when it is unnecesitated. |

ericadianas: Call a spade a spade and not a garden fork I disagree! Who knows, I could transform the cold metal spade into a garden fork. So I would not limit its potentials by caging it inside a name. We really don't have to call it a name.
No ring, no name
It's really not important It's not a position but rather a restriction A restriction of the mind and of our actions We all want to be "The One" that the whole world recognises as the "special one"(Double classified) The boyfriend or The girlfriend. Our discussions always end in nomenclature We often ask "what are we"? We fail to understand that the precious "we" ends at the sound of "it is over" So what's the point? We really don't need to call it a name.
Let's go on dates; Let's take pictures. Let's chat till night; Let's meet more friends Let's know ourselves; Let's hold our hands Let's play by the beach, Let's keep our secrets Say no word to papa , Say no word to mama Ignore the JAMB questions "are you dating" Be by each other and fall in love each day For real, what's the difference?? We really don't have to call it a name.
Let's go nights out, let's eat pizza Let's make a play list and play our favourite songs Let's watch sunsets and moonlight Let's go shopping and take flights Let's tackle and solves life's riddles Let's be there to always support eachother I still cant see a difference So we really don't have to call it a name.
It is almost impossible this way- To lose touch and fall out of love. Cause the anticipation never gets boring as you have nothing to hold as stake. You keep missing and wanting and needing Till the day he's ready to go on his kneels, pull out the ring, get a yes and get a name. But for now, we really don't have to call it a name
"What-are-we" is overrated
Agree or disagree??

Romance › Re: Why Do Most Girls Like Fair Boys by y3mi(m): 10:05pm On Sep 23, 2016 |
To answer OP question, I think the generality of Nigerian females tend to be endeared to guys who are light in complexion due to the same mentally unsettled preference that makes Nigerian guys to feel attracted towards fair skin Nigerian ladies, it is an impression that stems from a racial bias that unfortunately still lingers within the psyche of many Africans whose mind are continually reinforced with the perception that light-skinned humans appears unadulterated in comparison to melanated humans to which I strongly disagree on the ground of irrational logic. Skin colour shouldn't be a criterion to determine human quality or worth unless one is a twisted eugenicist bigot. I for one, despite my wish to be dark-skinned, don't really dig light-skinned that much, I tend to be drawn towards "the blacker the sexxxier" types of ladies as well as the Ebony-Nubian types. Black rocks. Countrygirl: Dark guys rock Such stereotypy! I'm not dark, what makes you think I don't rock ? Laveda:
just one thing comes to mind when I see a very light skinned dude.
Cc: Jeffreyjamez. I wonder what that could be. thecatch: For Me fair dudes aren't my type. It's a total turn off for me...it just doesn't give me the vibes If you seem unable to break down how fair guys don't fit into your type then it has nothing to do with 'types' but preference (i.e. taste), as for vibes, maybe you oughta try an albino (Lol) |

VampireeM: Nigeria will be sold soonst by APC govt! The ones that were sold already what was the outcome? Most of these polithievicians and billionaires have already positioned themselves to buy and enrich their generations! Nigeria would be like Esau who sold his birthright for a plate of pottage!
FG should start by selling the presidential air fleets and reduction of politicians salaries and scrapping of most their allowance!
What happens after the proceed from the sales have been squandered and we ve nothing else to sell?
Incompetent Economic team headed by figure heads who doesnt even know the rudiments of Economics Aren't we all tired of complaining, all we do is yelp, endure, balk and repeat....What solution would you prefer against these vampires who have no business being in government but unfortunately happen to be there ? Is it Deamalgamation? Devolution? Regionalization? Self-determination via decentralized power ? |
