We all know what alcohol can do to your body. In the short term, it makes you drunk, and in the slightly longer term, it makes you hungover. But what even longer term effects does drinking too much alcohol have on your body? There are obvious negative effects of alcohol, like liver problems, skin problems, and circulation problems, not to mention weight gain and a decrease in motor functions. But what are the other ways alcohol hurts? Ibrahim Hanouneh, MD, who works in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Cleveland Clinic, shares some lesser-known problems associated with alcohol consumption. 1. Alcohol takes priority. When you consume any alcohol, your body makes breaking down the alcohol its top priority. Your body cannot store alcohol (like with proteins, carbs, and fats), so your liver works extra hard to detoxify your entire body by removing the alcohol from the blood. This slows down and confuses the body which is why you get drunk, and because your liver has to work so hard, it is more likely to be problematic later. 2. Bacteria grows in your gut. Alcohol abuse often leads to intestinal bacteria growth. These bacteria can migrate through the intestinal wall. This is problematic on its own, but when the bacteria gets into the liver it can cause serious damage. Even a single night of drinking can damage the intestinal lining. 3. Your heart will become weakened. Drinking too much alcohol can lead to a weak heart (cardiomyopathy), irregular patterns (arrhythmia), or high blood pressure. A study shows that alcoholism and depression are also heavily connected. leads to drinking, or drinking leads to depression is still not . 4. You’ll develop pancreatitis. Your pancreas produces insulin, which allows the food you eat to be used as energy. Pancreatitis is an inflammation in the pancreas, where it becomes inflamed and starts to slow down insulin production. Pancreatitis typically brings high blood pressure and can even cause malabsorption syndrome and diabetes. 5. Risk for cancer. Cancer of the mouth, esophagus, throat, breast, and, of course, liver, have been associated with alcoholism. 6. A stressed immune system. Drinking alcohol, especially binge drinking, stresses your entire system. A stressed immune system opens the body to infection, disease, and worse. Doctors suggest drinking red wine can be good for you, but I would still take caution. Dr. Hanouneh says healthy people can still drink, but certainly not every day, or even most days of the week. All this said, alcohol is best avoided, but can be fine in moderation. Alcohol addiction is a slippery slope that can lead to pancreatitis, liver failure and worse. There are also links to dementia and Alzheimer’s. Drinking alcohol has massive health implications that are hard, if not impossible to reverse. http://yarnvibes.com/nigerians-see-ways-alcohol-killing-silently-affecting-health/ Lalasticlala |

We the music fans of Nigeria have decided that we’ll started begging, asking or demanding albums from our favorite artists. Okay maybe not demanding, but for some of the best artists in Nigeria, random singles here and there, no projects, and ever shifting release dates disappoint many fans. Many fans probably know that it’s not magic to release an album, but we’d still like a collection of new music, and not singles that drop every four months with no major purpose. We’re not complaining about the singles o, but we for like albums too. So let’s go with the 10 Nigerian artists who need to drop an album this year. 1 Eva Alordiah https://cisselodge.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/images-8-2.jpeg Eva Alordiah is probably the first name on many people’s lips when you talk about the best female rapper in Nigeria, but till date she’s yet to release an official album. That makes that best female rapper tag hard to validate. However we do know that there’s a project in the making, The 1960 album. The problem is, the release date has been moved multiple times now. From Jan 1st, 2015, to later in the year, to Oct 1st 2015, and now we just don’t even know when it’ll be release. Sigh… Yea… Eva please stop starving us. Release it, we’ll buy To be fair she has released two mixtapes, but mixtapes and album no be the same. 2 Chidinma https://cisselodge.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/chidinma-ekile-birthday-4.jpg Chidinma has released one and only album, and that was back in 2012 shortly after she was announced as the Project Fame West Africa. Seeing as she won that prestigious talent contest, we’ve had very high hopes for her, especially because we know the talent is clearly there. However with the likes of Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage and co constantly putting out projects, Chidinma is at risk of being left all the way behind. That’s unless of course she drops a solid album this year, then she’ll back in the big leagues. 3. Patoranking: Whayasay!! Patoranking has been one of the top acts in Nigerian music over the past couple of years with dope singles, Girlie O, Alubarika, and My Woman My Everything. However this is the year he needs to put all that work to good, and release an album. The fans are ready now, and we think Patoranking has created a big enough brand that the album will definitely sell. Word is there’s an album in the works, so we just might see it sooner rather than later. 4 Davido https://cisselodge.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/davido-fans-mi-scarface-1.png To be fair to Davido, he was supposed to release his sophomore album last year, but then, the Sony BMG deal happened. Now there should be no excuse as to why that album can’t be released this year. 2016 will make it four years since his debut album, OBO. Yes, four years, and for one of the biggest artists in Africa that’s getting to be a very long time. The lead singles are already out, and buzzing, this has to be the year. This is the year Davido has to stake him claim as Naija’s hottest artist without question. 5 Lil Kesh https://cisselodge.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/lil-kesh-1.jpg When your boss goes out of his way to call out Don Jazzy, and start one of the biggest beefs in Nigerian music history, then he sees something big in you. With Olamide pulling that move, the expectations for for Lil Kesh has been raised through the roof. Every single he puts out will be judged on that basis, and seeing that Olamide is one of the hardest working artists in the industry, we’ll use that as a baseline for Lil Kesh also. That means, he has to release an album this year. Not long story. 6 Vector https://cisselodge.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/vector-kilodephotoshoot-1.jpg It’s been four years since Vector’s last album, 2nd Coming, was released, and fans might be beginning to get impatient. We understand that Vector had some label issues to sort out, but now that it’s all done, we expect the album to drop soon. With his AK47 mixtape released in 2014, and the huge hit King Kong released in 2015, the only next level up is an album this year. 7 Reekado Banks https://cisselodge.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/reekado-1.jpg On the flip side of the Lil Kesh Next Rated argument is the person who actually won the Next Rated award, and that is Reekado Banks. Winning that award already comes with its own pressure, but this year with all the controversy surrounding it, the pressure is on world cup final levels. Even though, Banks, signed to Mavin Records dropped a song shortly after winning the award, the real thing fans will be waiting for is a solo album. A Mavin Records collective album might not be enough. 8 Omawumi https://cisselodge.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/img_4738-1.jpg All hail the queen! There’s no doubt in many people’s minds that when you talk of the best female artist, and performer in Nigeria, Omawumi is at the top of the list. However 2016 will make it 3 years since she released an album, and up until a couple of months ago, hadn’t released much material (we understand cos she just had a baby), but in 2016, we need Omawumi to drop an album, and remind everyone that she’s the real madam at the top. No time! http://yarnvibes.com/8-nigerian-artists-need-release-album-2016/ |

Nigerian football Star and founder of Kanu Heart Foundation, KHF, Nwankwo Kanu, has been named by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), as one the top 48 legends of football all over the world. Kanu, who played for Ajax, Inter Milan and Arsenal during his stint in Europe, was listed alongside Brazilian greats like Pele and Ronaldo de Lima. The former Super Eagles star, is the last Nigerian to be named CAF African Footballer of the Year, back in 1999. Other Africans who made the cut include: former World Player of the Year George Oppong Weah, Roger Milla, Rabah Medjer, Muhammed Aboutrika, Mohmud El-Khatub and former South Africa captain Lucas Radebe. IFFHS, who are recognised by FIFA, archive football records, statistics and records of associations across the globe. <img src="http://gist.mp3bullet.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/021014F-Abubakar-Shekau.jpg"/> More than ones it has been reported that Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau had been killed in one of the Nigerian military’s many raids on Nigerian territories under the control of the deadly terrorist group, Boko Haram. The latest of his death being reported was sometime last year when the Nigerian military released a photo of a dead Boko haram insurgent comparing it with Shekau’s photo and many people did see a lot of resemblance between them. Aside this, there has been nothing to further prove the death of Shekau. Yarnvibes in this report brings you 3 things that could prove that Shekau may have been truly killed or has been replaced… 1. Speaking during an interview with British publication The Telegraph, Buhari said that he had received conflicting information on the militant leader’s whereabouts, saying that he may have been replaced by a less charismatic leader. 2. Shekau’s voice was last heard in an audio message dated March 7 2015, pledging allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS). 3. Shekau has also failed to appear in the latest video released by the militant group in August 2015. In the eight-minute video, an unidentified young man spoke in the name of the Islamic State in West Africa calling on people to be patient: “We are still present everywhere we had been before.” The video showed the militants attacking a security checkpoint, seizing weapons, and slitting the throat of a man dressed in a police uniform. https://gist.mp3bullet.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Ghoste8.jpg The Ghoste 8 list of Nigerian music acts to watch out for in 2016. Ghoste Magazine recently dropped a list of 8 talented Nigerian acts who upped their games last year and will most definitely be consistent this 2016. The list include Mavin acts, Korede Bello and Reekado Banks as well as Adekunle Gold and Lil Kesh of YBNL while Simi is the only female singer who made the cut. Others are Falz,Skales and Yung6ix. Meet the Ghoste 8… ADEKUNLE GOLD https://gist.mp3bullet.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Ghoste8-Adekunle-Gold.jpg Adekunle Gold has to be the biggest discovery in the Nigerian music industry for 2015. He snuck up on us with his audacious sound on ‘Sade’ and by the time he dropped ‘Orente’, he had us hooked. The YBNL act, recently dropped his 3rd single, ‘Pick Up’ and we are expecting a debut album in 2016 and an unplugged show. FALZ https://gist.mp3bullet.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Ghoste8-Falz.jpg We love Falz, who doesn’t? Falz easily became one of the most sought after MCs in 2015 with songs like ‘Karishika’, ‘Clap’, ‘Celebrity Girlfriend’ and more off his sophomore album, ‘Stories That Touch’. The album has been mentioned as one of the best albums, released by a Nigerian artist in 2015 and we expect to see it bag nominations and awards this year. Popularly known for his funny yet dope lyrics, Falz earned the respect and love from fans and other music enthusiasts all through 2015, including notable endorsement deals. KOREDE BELLO https://gist.mp3bullet.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Ghoste8-Korede-Gold.jpg This young Mavin superstar blew us away with a song that we daresay was the most viral tune of 2015, ‘Godwin’. He bagged enviable endorsements deals in 2015 and numerous accolades including the award for the Best Pop Single and nominations at the AFRIMMA and KORA awards to mention a few. The leader of the Bellovers clan, is already having a great 2016 as his most recent single ‘Romantic’ featuring Tiwa Savage is already being referred to as one of the biggest tunes of 2016. LIL KESH https://gist.mp3bullet.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Ghoste8-Lil-Kesh.jpg ‘…every song was a hit, back to back…’ Lil’Kesh was such a thrill in 2015, with strong follow-ups to his monster hit ‘Shoki’, he dominated the airwaves and streets with catchy lyrics and beats. The YBNL MC had a great year, stayed off controversies, bagged notable nominations and performed at some of the biggest events around Nigeria. Ghoste anticipates more hit records and a debut album from Lil’Kesh in 2016. REEKADO BANKS https://gist.mp3bullet.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Ghoste8-Reekado-Banks.jpg Crowned ‘Next Rated’ at the 2015 Headies, Reekado Banks blazed a hot trail of 4 singles and over 5 hit collaborations in 2015, a very impressive record for a new artist. In 2015, he bagged an enviable ambassadorial role with a Nigerian telecoms company. Loved by Reek Addicts all over and with his 1st single of the year, ‘Oluwa Ni’ already climbing up charts, it is safe to say that Reekado Banks will be on our playlists all year SIMI https://gist.mp3bullet.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Ghoste8-Simi.jpg If you haven’t heard Simi sing, where have you been? From her Restless EP, to her 1st official single ‘Tiff’ to her most prominent single, ‘Jamb Question’ and her most recent offering ‘Open & Close’, Simi has shown great prowess as a songwriter, vocalist and performer. In 2015, she was definitely the breakthrough female artist and in 2016, we expect more great music and maybe an album. SKALES https://gist.mp3bullet.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Ghoste8-Skales.jpg One can arguably agree that Skales was the man of the year in 2015. Rising from a failed label contract, to owning one of the biggest hit songs in Africa, ‘Shake Body’ and a successful debut album release, Skales keeps proving why he deserves the ‘Man of the Year’ title. With over 5 singles and music videos ruling the airwaves to date, big music collaborations, performances in different countries and nominations at some of the most prestigious awards, a sophomore album in view, Skales is definitely one to look out for in 2016. YUNG6IX https://gist.mp3bullet.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Ghoste8-Yung6ix.jpg Yung 6ix went quiet for a bit but in 2015, he came back all grown up, with a trail of hot singles and collaborations, including ‘Blessings ft Oritsefemi’ and ‘For Example ft Stonebwoy’. We are excited about the consistency with his recent releases and his new brand direction. It is safe to expect hits from the South South MC, a sophomore album, nominations and maybe endorsements too. http://yarnvibes.com/adekunle-gold-lil-kesh-simi-skales-others-make-ghoste-magazine-2016/ Lalasticlala |

We've seen a lot of negativity about marriage lately, so when I saw this positive stuff, I got interested... Whether by church wedding or signing at court, parents are giving consent for their children to be tied in holy matrimony hoping that they will procreate and live a happy life afterwards. After all the lavish ceremonies; cutting of cake, smiles and extravagant wedding dress, posing for selfies that is the imaginary dream of most contemporary women, the executory part of fulfilling the promises made to God in the presence of family, friends, colleagues and invited guests is the hard nut to crack. How do you maintain your marriage in reality? How do you become a better spouse for your partner and a good parent to your children? Arguing is inevitable in a relationship, even twins fight in the womb as superstition says but if you follow these 4 Cs - (Communication, Commitment, Companionship and Care ) - there will be peace and love in your relationship. Communication Communication is the pivot around which every relationship evolves. Constant interaction with each other, whether phone calls, text or face-to-face erase all doubt and suspicions in a relationship. Couples must agree to disagree amicably, forecast and plan for the future. Don’t hesitate to say “am sorry” when you offend your partner, if you are not vulnerable in front of your partner then who else? Words like: “I love you, am sorry, forgive and thank you” should be used daily in a healthy relationship. Educator and author, Stephen Covey, once said that “the biggest communication problem is we do not listen to understand. We listen to reply”. Try to listen to your spouse just to understand what he/she is saying without reply. Just acknowledge. Commitment “In sickness and in health, rain or shine…..” Commitment means dedicating yourself effortlessly to support and provide the needed assistance to your partner to maintain your relationship. And the two shall become one, which means one has to compromise in certain instance without murmuring or nagging. A writer Joseph Campbell underscores that, “When you sacrifice in a marriage, you are sacrificing not to each other but to unity in a relationship”. No one person must feel he or she is carrying all the burden in the relationship.Comments like "I’m better off single than married” should be avoided. Couple can no longer think of themselves alone; anything you are thinking, think of your spouse in it. Companionship Love and s*x is an important portion in the love realm. The bible establishes that “Do not deprive each other [of marital rights], except perhaps by mutual consent for a time, so that you may devote yourselves [unhindered] to prayer”. Constant love making provides the avenue to experience each other’s inner feelings and spiritually and emotionally grow your relationship. ‘S*x is sweet’; one reaches orgasm during makeup s*x, after big announcements or during couple's special occasions. Marriage is the only morally upright way within which the human kind is procreated. Care Justice delayed isn’t always justice denied, at least not where marriage is concerned. Show gratitude to your partner for each little thing done. Never underestimate the power of appreciation, which opens doors for greater things. The kitchen is the woman’s paramount place, yes!Women take care of your husband from the kitchen to the dinning, so he too can take of you from the dinning to the bedroom. Wife, adore their husband and shower him with praises, say nice words like ‘I love you’. Popular author, Julia Child, said “the secret of a happy marriage is finding the right person. You know they’re right if you love to be with them all the time”. Couples must spend quality time in the house. Issues will come up from time to time, but always smile even when you wife or husband is angry. Bring some fun into the house and plead with your spouse in love. A beautiful marriage is very possible. http://yarnvibes.com/see-top-secrets-truly-successful-marriage/ Lalasticlala |

Don Jazzy is undoubtedly one of the hottest producers in Nigeria right now, and that’s without a question. But could he be the greatest Nigerian producer ever? Here are 5 reasons we think he might be the greatest Nigerian 1. Some Of The Best Hits and Albums Don Jazzy’s discography is simply outstanding, and when you look at it, he’s been directly responsible for the production of some of the greatest Nigerian albums of the past decade; Dbanj – No Long Thing (2005), Dbanj – RunDown Funk U Up (2006), Dbanj – Entertainer (2008), Wande Coal – Mushin To Mohits (2009), Mo-Hits All Stars (2008), Dr SID – Turning Point (2010, Mavins – Solar Plexus (2012). And the singles? Way too many to list out but let’s highlight the big ones, Dbanj – Fall In Love, Wande Coal – Bumper to Bumper, D’Prince – Omoba, Dbanj – Gbono Feli Feli, Dr Sid – Over The Moon, Dbanj – Oliver Twist, Mavins – Dorobucci, Dr Sid – Surulere and the list can go on and on. 2. He Can Reinvent Himself Usually when big break ups happen like the break up of Mo-Hits, it tends to spell the beginning of the end for all parties. Everyone figured Dbanj and Don Jazzy would go on to have decent careers but most predictions had it that it’ll never be as high as it was. Fast forward 3 years, and Don Jazzy has reinvented himself and re-branded in the name of Mavins, and has amassed a whole new squad of hit makers in Tiwa Savage, Dr Sid, Korede Bello, Dija, Reekado Banks and D’Prince. He’s found a way to have the hottest record label in Nigeria once again. Talk about bouncing back up like a rubber ball. 3. Made Some Big Artists Dbanj, Wande Coal, Dr Sid and D’Prince all owe a huge amount of their success to aligning themselves up with Don Jazzy. It’s an outstanding attribute to have the ability to harness someone’s talent and kick it into high gear. With Korede Bello, Dija, and Reekado Banks slowly becoming household names, it’s clear that Don Jazzy’s earlier achievements is no fluke. 4. Social Media Promo One thing is clear about Don Jazzy. He doesn’t just understand music, he understands entertainment and the ability to use modern tools to market it. When you take a look at how huge Oliver Twist got with the competition, how Doro in Dorobucci became the slang of 2015, and other major social media trends he’s created just from his music, you realize that Don Baba J is not just a beat maker, but a entertainment business mogul. 5. Longevity It’s been a solid 13 years that Don Jazzy has been active in the industry, and it’s interesting that there aren’t many moments where he is not in the conversation as being the best producer at that moment. With his ability to reinvent himself, pick out talent, and harness it, you can see Don Jazzy being in the game till he decides he’s tired or maybe creates a product and chills out like Dr Dre. Do you think anyone can break Don Jazzy’s records any time soon? http://yarnvibes.com/see-5-reasons-don-jazzy-greatest-nigerian-producer/

1.You were always the first person who had to leave when everyone was hanging out. Cos your parents won’t stop calling your phone. 2.Whenever your friends would make plans for later that night, you knew your parents would say no because it literally took them 3-4 business days to process whether they would allow you to go out. 3.You would practice asking your parents for permission to do something in the mirror and preemptively come up with answers to questions you knew they’d ask. 4.Asking for permission to spend the night at a friend’s house took 37 hours of mental preparation, a detailed powerpoint presentation of your friend’s family tree, and a signed contract in your blood saying you promise to behave and would be home before 7pm. 5.You always whipped out the wounded puppy look to garner sympathy from your parents before asking for a favor no matter how small. 6.You would ask your parents once, and only once, if you could hang out at someone’s house. You never understood why your friends would think that “asking them again” would makeany difference. 7.You also always had to wait until they were in a good mood before asking for anything. And they were never in a good mood. 8.You always had to choose between going out on either on Friday or Saturday because there’s no way your parents were going to agree to both or letting you go out on two consecutive days. 9.You understand THE PURE, UNADULTERATED PANIC that channels through your veins when your friends change the plans 10 times when you are hanging out with them and you had to keep reexplaining to your parents what you were doing. 10.You never had “The Talk” with your parents. And there was no mention of sex education. They probably left a biology textbook on your bed about your ~changing body~ and let you figure it out. 11.Family dinner conversations revolved around your academics, why you didn’t come 1st position, why you scored 79% in mathematics, how your friend that came first doesn’t have two heads and your class schedule—neverabout your social or love life. As far as your parents were concerned, you didn’t have either. 12.You probably shared the same first name as at least 4-5 other people in your classes growing up. Chineyere. Mary. Tunde. Esther. Joy. Chioma. Etc Etc 13.To this day, you still can’t get dressed without wondering what your parents would think about what you’re wearing. 14.You curfew at 5pm. 15.Your parents always tried to sign up to school functions and competitions for you. 16.You always changed the channel if your parents walked in on you watching something. And if you are caught off guard, you keep praying the characters don’t kiss. 17.Your impulse reaction to hearing your friends say they had a boyfriend or girlfriend is open-mouthed shock. 18.Manners from ‘learning how to greet, not collecting things from your neighbours, not borrowing toys, staying indoors, avoiding witchcraft,’ were everything. You got the “I don’t want you to disgrace me out there” speech all the time. 19.You’re careful telling jokes to your parents because their response toes the line between laughing along to immediately going off on a 45 minute rant. 20.They always eyed you suspiciously when the pastor in Church prayed for stubborn children. And their favorite verse in the bible was ”Children Obey your parents in the Lord for this is right”. The next verse (Ephesians 6:4) that comes with a clause never existed as long as they are concerned. 21.If you missonephone call, your parents suddenly assume you’re doing a very bad thing” with “that one friend of yours” they KNEW was going to be a bad influence http://yarnvibes.com/21-things-everyone-raised-typical-african-parents-will-relate/ Lalasticlala |

Getting the girl of your dreams does not necessarily have to depend on how much you have in your bank account. A girl who truly loves you and desire to be with you will be charmed, not by cash, but by some other great things you can offer. Let us take a look at some of the things that can help you land the girl without putting yourself in debt. 1. Look the part: The first thing that would draw a girl’s eye to you is the way you look. You do not have to break the bank to look good, clean and well kept-together. If she sees how well you look, and she finds it appealing, then that is one step closer to getting her attention, and hopefully, her heart. 2. Dazzle with your personality: When all you’ve got is your personality, make sure you make it count. Do not be afraid to show off what you are made of. If you are funny, brilliant, or talented in other areas, let her experience this. Show her that she can have a good time with you and have a lot of other reasons to respect you without you having to resort to buying her expensive gifts. 3. Be inventive: When you do not have money to distract her, you can actually focus on inventive ways to spend time with her. The whole point of winning her heart is to make her love being with you, it does not matter where you are or how much you spend. No doubt, having the big bucks is an easier way to get her interested, and not having this to your advantage could make things a little challenging. But, get creative, work for her attention, she will see your effort and reward them. 4. Make her feel special: Everyone loves to feel special, and that includes women. So, to make her keep thinking about you, let her know how beautiful and special you find out. Make her feel like the only girl in the world and let her have nothing but positive feelings when she is around you or talking to you. 5. Get to know her: Another way to her heart is to make sure you take your time to get to know your lady. No information is too small or too useless. Know what makes her thick and what drives her. Be her best friend and confidante. Let her share her successes with you and come to you when things are not so good. 6. Avoid insecurity: It is easy, when you are not so affluent, to focus on the things you do not have and some men often take it to another level by taking it out on the girl. Do not keep bringing up the fact that you are still struggling, do not let her see any sign of insecurity or jealousy. http://yarnvibes.com/guys-see-6-ways-can-get-girls-broke/ Lalasticlala |
