So far so good with what i have seen IT is the most lucrative field in the US right now.. six figures is guaranteed, depending on what aspect of IT.. I know of two of my friends who rakes in more than $700k a year, some are making $300k..The Nursing field is over populated.

Nigerians in the US like to encourage people coming into the country to go for nursing because they feel like it's an easy field to get into and you will make alot of money from it . I even read a post on this forum that stated that nurses make no less than $30 per hour in the US which is not true. Some registered nurses can make low as $19 per hour so all I'm advising is that you look at different fields.

I don't think the emboldened part is true. I have not seen any registered nurse making as low as that. Even in the Midwest, talk about a state like Wyoming, where the pay is probably lowest, the average entry-level, registered nurse with an ADN working in a hospital makes no less than $26 per hour. Those who work in nursing homes even make more. Meanwhile, this is on the lowest side; there are several entry-level registered nurses that make above $30 per hour. The good thing about nursing is that it is pretty easy to get a job, so if a hospital offers a low pay, a nurse could easily apply elsewhere and receive higher pay, especially in hospitals and nursing homes with critical nursing shortage. Nursing homes pay way more, especially those in rural areas. In addition, with nursing, if you put a lot of work into research, you can easily find hospitals or nursing homes that will pay your tuition while you're working for them, or pay off your student loan if you agree to work for them for three to five years after graduating. The opportunities are endless.

Regardless you may have to start over again with any of these degrees from Nigeria. Competition is tight here in the states , I know this because I work in the healthcare field. A lot of people especially Nigerians like to put out misconceptions about theses fields especially nursing.

Can you elaborate on the emboldened portion?

Good psychology here, he needs to fly this so people won't follow the path of previous kidnappers. Been kidnapped twice is too much na.

I don't think so. I think he is being sincere. First, if he was just flying this, he wouldn't have said Mikel communicates with his mother, because this sends a message that Mikel loves his mother so much, and kidnappers may start targeting his mother. Second, making up things like these will tarnish Mikel's image so I don't think he will just be making them up knowing the implication this will have on his son.

I must sincerely say all i see is that you just want to comment because ur comment does not in anyway make sense or correlate to the message am trying to pass across so if our society is corrupt is it the other countries that caused it or we living in that country. Are we not the ones that accepts anything that comes our way all in the name of westernisation. We have our own culture, values , heritage and co like farming, tourism, even cultural attire and heritage and not until we accept that before we can see progress. And if your sense is not developed enough to understand my message do not jump to comment next time because if it is accepted in other countries does not mean we should accept it in our country too and that is what has brought us here ad a nation. Copy copy no good.

And yes if i see U.S visa i go accept am leave unreasonable people like u.

Shut up! Work on your English first before spewing trash! How is it your business what other people post about themselves on the internet? Since you don't want to accept westernization, you should not be using the smartphone you are using now, so you won't have to see pictures like this. Useless double standards from people like you; you will jump to America if you get the opportunity, yet you start complaining that you have values when people copy what Americans do. How did that bring us here as a nation, where are you as a nation today?

Hello shorty that show of shame is not welcomed in our society period we wont mind our business because what she displayed openly will have a more negativity on our daughters than positivity. She should go and dance in her husbands bedroom and not come and corrupt our society. So it is our business to condenm her and clean our society of imoral act

Which society is more corrupt between yours and the countries where this is accepted. People like you go quickly jump at an american visa if una see opportunity, yet una go dey talk anyhow.

Like seriously, some of the guys on this thread commented like the ladies I left where I was watching the match. Croatia was just lucky to have scored the first goal, and then subsequently getting a penalty. I agree that the Nigerian team isn't formidable, but they tried. I think they played better than Croatia.

Yea, but at least we should have tried to score a goal. If Croatia were not lucky to score the first goal and get that penalty, what that means is that the game would have ended goalless for Nigeria which isn't too good for us either. One goal would have made the difference.

Just say the truth! A simple "No, I have not taken any exam." is all you need. Also, I've not heard about Jamestown CC (don't fret, I also didn't hear of Duke or Morehouse until I saw them on Nairaland), and I don't wanna Google it. The concept of "nice school" is not clear-cut. What do you mean by "nice"?

If you think you're a credible student, and you have plans for life after studies, go and face the VO with a good case for yourself.

Really You, an American citizen, never heard of Duke

Yes it important to go to a good MBA program especially if you need H1B , i am all for it but a school doesn't always determine success in life .There are many managers who dont even have a degree and work their way up . Similarly you can enter an MBA program , but enter at an entry level position and work your way up . Nobody can really predict what the Job market looks like . Even the school recruitment officer can not predict how the market will go one year from another

The guy is right. I have heard a lot of blunders from many of them since I got here. The accent is just their shield; tell them to put their words in writing and you'll see for yourself. If you need proper English, listen to the British..

i agree we mispronounce a lot of things, we call missile meside, imbe.cile imbecide, those are common errors but or accent cant get in the way of your eloquence.

if v. president osibanjo speaks and donald trump speak who do you think will be rated higher ?

can a bad accent cannot produce a melodious rendition? listen to bez, praize, asa and tell me their accent is substandard .

im proud of my accent, i will only try to pronounce correctly, but i will speak this way till i die regardless of where i travel to.

im black and proud.
im Nigerian and proud
im yoruba and proud
im ekiti and proud.

Thing is, Americans do not even speak better English. Yemi Osinbajo's English is way better than Donald Trump's. Since I came to the US, I have not met anyone (even among university professors) who speak better English than Wole Soyinka. Not even anywhere close. The accent of these Americans is what makes people think that they speak really good English, but that is not true at all.

get out of here, get of Nigeria shores and come back to prove your argument. Good English comes with accent. When you pronounce words like come, can, what, water, love, her, and, must, Fanta, chair, cut, Anthony, missile, and the person you talking to frequently saying excuse me. Then you must know your English is poor. I bet 97% of Nigerian excluding the northerners can't pronounce the words mentioned above correctly.

Bro, trust me, this is just about you. Since I came to the United States here, people have been asking me where I learned English from. Recently, I made a speech in my Public Speaking class, and someone walked up to me after the class to say, "I like your voice and the way you speak." In the peer evaluations, two of my classmates made excellent comments about my accent. I went for a job interview, and after everything was over, the interviewers started asking questions about my English. This has been a very common occurrence for me here. Meanwhile, take away the accent and I can assure you that Americans do not speak better English at all.

Good day everyone, I have a question to ask. I just got admitted into an American university in Illinois but the problem is I recently discovered that the course I applied for is an online course. I am so pissed because 2018 Fall resumption is approaching. Will it be written on my i20 that it's an online course and is it advisable for me to tender it at the embassy or should I apply to another university (which i'm already doing) to save me the embarrassment ?? Coz I am scared they might detect it's an online course.

International students are not allowed to study an online program in the US, so, your plan is out of it. In addition, international students are allowed to take only a maximum of one online class from twelve credits.
