Hmmmmm, I initially look so stupid so many times in the united states because africa is so backward and attached religion to all things.
Firstly, who certified him dead?
Nobody, but from the clear look of things in the video, that boy was clearly far from life. Did you not see how sprawled he was on the floor?
overseasnbeyond:
How many Nigerians know about CPR?
A lot of Nigerians know about CPR, but what has CPR got to do with the boy here? Are you saying the pastor performed a CPR on the baby or what?
overseasnbeyond:
I train and work with people in the United States and realised we are far away behind in technology and religious leaders are capitalizing on Nigerians weakness of lack of information for exploitation.
And what's out business with the emboldened? A lot of people on this forum are in the United States as well, and that doesn't change anything. The creator of the forum is in Nigeria.

The boy was probably not dead but they thought he was dead. Such situations occur sometimes more like being in a comma
You have a point, but even at that, what he did should not have resuscitated a boy in a coma. I mean, even if the boy was not dead, that act of the pastor should not have brought him back like that, it could even probably worsen the case.

Slay queen!

The second most abused words after "I love you"

A slay queen is one who oozes confidence, a go-getter, one who set goals and smashes them.

It's not all about putting on the right clothes and makeup.

Really? Is "slay queen" now a phrase in standard English that can be defined, or where did you get your "authoritative" definition from? See how the urban dictionary defines "slay queen": https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Slay%20Queen

I know how to deal with them;

- tie them to a chair
- use pliers to remove their fingernails and toe nails one by one
- use injection to suck out the juice In their eyeballs
- then insert long office pin in their dick holes
- then attach a 50V AC supply to their teeth for 2 hours intervals...
- more in stock for them..

My opinion: the worst way to kill a man is to starve him to death. Just lock them up in a room and leave them there till they die of lack of food and water. That's a tougher way to die than what you listed.

This is the kind of comment I have been waiting for. Thanks bro. I applied for asylum. Hired a lawyer who helped me with the asylum application. She is so good. I waited till January 2019. Saw it in my mailbox. It was granted. I screamed so loud. I have received my social security card, gotten my state id, gotten my work permit, applied for college to start nursing program this summer, my church here is assisting with scholarship. On 14th January of next year i will be eligible to apply for green card and receive it in my mailbox within a month. Once i get it i'll pause college and join US national guard. One thing with Nigerians is they are so quick to call someone a liar. This is a public forum, I dont know any of you here so why will i lie to strangers? See how this young man congratulated me and I took my time to explain to him. The othjer person called me liar pants on fire telling me to post proof. I should go and snap my USCIS letter and show to you because you are an immigration officer. I could have started raining abuses on you but as an American(Pennsylvanian to be precise), I will never stoop so low.

Well, this is very unusual. Asylum takes to long that it is currently taking up to two years, but congratulations to you on your unique case!

bro this is really nice..congrats once again..wuick question pls..i know f1 visa is valid for the duration of study..so if along the way u leave school due to some reasons does it mean u fall out of status?

It depends on what you leave school for. Do you mean drop out or just a temporary leave? If you drop out, then yes, you're out of status. But if you leave for reasons such as medical (medical leave), then you are not out for status. For a medical leave to be granted, you need a doctor's report, and the maximum duration for which you can be granted a medical leave is one year. Endeavor to do your best not to fall out of status, because it doesn't always end well like in the story of the person you quoted.

I lovw the job i do as a correction officer in the detention centre.
I make average of $2650 after tax every two weeks but do not want to kill myself any longer because they see me as workaholic.
The job is cool and steady

Mann, that's a lot of hours. Do you work weekends too? What type of job is this? This is one problem with Yankee life: you need to work really hard to make ends meet. Initially when you move from a country like Nigeria having experienced severe poverty, it seems cool that you have the opportunity to work multiple hours without rest. You seem to enjoy it and try to save as much as you can. However, after spending some years here, you begin to feel it's too much labor, and your interests begin to dissipate. You cannot stop otherwise you rake in too much bills and debts. Welcome to the American life!

If you continue taking time to explain, many unclear areas will be cleared, and more people will be able to learn that way. It will also lend more credence to your credibility, and help people make informed choices. Don't mind those ones telling you to ignore; not everyone is necessarily trolling, people just get confused and need clarification.

First of all, My mum actually earned a bit more than 130k. She worked at the secondary school of a well known federal university and she was working their for almost 20 years. So you can see the 130k is even small.
Now as per my mum wanting to rest, one thing you must know is that, Canada is very hard and Nigeria is very sweet if you have money. My mum used the transit system throughout and it was really stressful for her. The cold was not also to good for her but she bore it and kept pushing. Canada is a place where you may not find it easy to foster friendships because everyone is working. She wants to just go back to Nigeria and take some time off to rest and just do what interests her without going to work every morning. She doesn't need to work, because she converted her savings to naira and bought treasure bills in Nigeria. This gives her an extra 1.2 million naira every year.
As for me, yes 400k looks like a lot of money. But if you read my posts from the beginning, you will see where i said my PR visa was about to expire and i didnt think it would make sense to lose my PR status over a 400k salary. And also being a married man, Canadian citizenship is always good for the children, and trust me with the current state of Nigeria, foreign exchange ain't bad at all.
Lastly, i dont think knowledge of my age is necessary.Well, i am a still young man.

Very sweet of you to respond in this manner. You clarified everything well. The reason I asked about your mom's pay is that I know nothing about teachers' salary in Nigeria, but with the complaints I hear from them, I assumed that their pay would be nowhere near 120K, because I never expected someone earning that to complain as much as many of them do. But your explanation that she's been in teaching for 20 years clarifies everything. The other areas are also well understood, so thanks for responding!

What I'm confused about is what problem you have trying to analyze another man's mother. Well, Yes teachers earn over 130k in Nigeria even as a government worker level 13 upwards. It is her call and that of her family to go wherever and rest so wetin happen? Haven't you heard of people holding top positions in firms in Nigeria and earning that 400k or more relocating to Canada? It is not about luxury but a working country and trying to secure the future of one's children. Why didn't you stay back too..

Please quit trying to understand what is none of your business and let the guy be!

How about you take your own advice and mind your business? My post wasn't addressed to you.

The only area I'm very confused about is where you said your mother earned 120K as a teacher in Nigeria, and you earned over 400K. Then you capped it up by saying that your mom, now a Canadian citizen, wants to go back to Nigeria to 'rest'.

Sometimes I wonder if it's the same Nigeria I left years ago, but someone should correct me if I'm wrong: what sort of teachers in Nigeria earned up to 120K three years ago? Was she teaching at an international school like those British Lekki school or mission schools like Loyola? If she was, then, she must be highly qualified, so how come she struggled on arriving in Canada? And now, Nigeria is a place people go to rest? You even said she informed you that she is no longer intending to go into teaching -- does this mean she's intending to go back to continue life in Nigeria or what?

And if you were earning 400K per month in Nigeria back in the day, what makes you think you are making it more in Canada now? With 400K a month in Nigeria at the time, wouldn't you be able to afford all the same luxury you have now in Canada if you had this same amount of discipline? The bulk of Nigerians you see on this travel section willing to relocate abroad are not earning anything close to 400K a month. And your mom is in her 50's, so how old are you?

Note that I'm not accusing you of lying about anything, I just got confused by these aspects of your statements, and would be a good idea if you could clarify.

Yes i have that gofund link for months now but decided not to bring it out because it happened outside nairaland but when lucas99 asked the op to open gofund page i decided to comment because of what i know about him.

When i called him out last week on that did you see him respond to that? Did he defend himself even as i did not paste the details here, his responds was to insult me just like every scammer do when called out.
When you called him out last week, he didn't respond, but nobody knows if you had banned him at the time. How are we to know exactly the time you banned him?

justwise:
Accusing me of abuse of power is just nonsense because a lot of people disagree with me on this topic and in many other threads and yet i did not ban or remove their posts.
Exactly, so why did you ban him right now?

justwise:
Tell me those scammers and armed robbers you know here that i allowed to keep posting since you know them.

You admitted that he is a scammer and still you want me to allow him to keep posting and deceiving people?[/b]

It's either you don't understand me, or you are pretending not to. What I'm saying is that there are scammers everywhere including this forum, but you don't ban people because they are scammers in real life, you ban them because they have broken a rulle. Mark Zuckerberg will not delete your Facebook account because in real life, you stole someone's money; he will delete it if you break a Facebook rule. My admittance to him being a scammer not not is to lay emphasis on the question of why you didn't ban him at the very time he was scamming people using Nairaland? There has to be a Nairaland rule someone breaks at a particular time for you to ban them. If you knew he was scamming people at particular time using Nairaland, and you did not ban him at the time, then you did not do your job- that does not validate banning him at this time. Who did he decieve at this time? Who did he scam at this time? Why did you ban him at this time and then kept talking about him?

justwise:
Did you see me remove his comments about me? I can easily remove all his posts against me before many here will see it but i left it and still you are talking about abuse of power.

What it seems you are missing is that you think I am attacking you for banning him. No, if we agree that he is a scammer, then, has to be banned. My question is why did you ban him at THIS TIME? With emphasis on "this time"? You are sure that he attempted or used Nairaland to scam people at some point in the past -- yet you did not ban him then when he actually broke Nairaland rules-- so why exactly did you ban him now? Who did he scam now? What was his offence now? His opinion was not different from others, and you confirmed that others attacked you on the same subject, so why did you choose to single him out for banning now? I'm asking a harmless question, if you can give me the reason which is right, then I will keep quiet. Saying you banned him at this time so that he will stop deceiving people makes no sense, are you saying he deceived someone just now? Why didn't you ban him when he did? Or are you saying Nairaland gives people power to postpone people's ban to whenever they please?

Lol, it's obvious that Lucas99 or whatever has an extremely questionable character -- I remember him back in the day on the US student visa thread when he first started talking about depression. I initially pitied him then, but I later figured there was something amiss. And with justwise's revelation now, it is even more obvious that there are other shady sides of him that we don't know about.

However, let's be sincere; what exactly was his offence AT THIS TIME for being banned? With all due respect and sensitivity, I see justwise's action as an abuse of power! Someone created a thread about moving back to Nigeria, several people came here with different opinions. Like them, lucas99 also dished out his own opinion which was not necessarily different from the opinion of several others. The only difference was that lucas99 attacked justwise in respect to his conflicting opinion, claiming that justwise would rather remain in the UK but advise advise someone else to move back to Nigeria. Now, here is the question; does this action of lucas99 warrant a ban? Did he break a rule on Nairaland for that?

Yes, he is a scammer, he is this, he is that. Is he the first or only scammer on Nairaland? Aren't there armed robbers, ritualists, fraudsters, etc on Nairaland and on this thread? Why was he not banned at the time he was scamming people on Nairaland, is this the right time to ban him simply because he called justwise out? If justwise was not a moderator, would lucas99 have been banned for any offence now? How do you just ban someone today with a claim that they were a scammer some years ago and you were aware of it then; does that even add up?

Okay, and where is the part to giving people the freedom to defend themselves. The only sense I see in justwise's ban is that if lucas99 wasn't banned, he would have been back on this thread to respond to justwise and defend himself (and probably "expose" or accuse justwise of certain things too) and this thread would have been heavily derailed, otherwise, I see no legal right to ban him at this time. And if that was why justwise banned him, then, it is extremely unethical of justwise still be talking about him. It's like using your power to silence someone from defending themselves, and then damaging their reputation leaving them to helplessly watch you. That is gross abuse of power!

The bottomline is that lucas99 broke no Nairaland rule at this time and shouldn't be banned right now. He should be given the fair opportunity to respond to all that has been said about him. If I am wrong -- maybe I am not aware of some nairaland rules since I am not a moderator -- then tell me what rule he broke at this time to be banned.
