Thanks for taking out the time to comment. I wouldn't like to sound like I'm defending myself here.

1. I had tried to teach her to drive but no success and she doesn't have the time to go to driving school

2. I recently upgraded my washing machine to manual to fully auto so as to avoid the stress of rinsing and drying. And I do 100% of the laundry at home.

The only reason I can consider a housemaid would be to take care of my kids after school which to me is as same as them being in day care. Why do we underestimate the importance of parent care for children at their early stage in Africa? Anyways, your point is made. Thanks again
You had solved the problem yourself by suggesting to open business for her. Except she objected to that idea, I don't think you need worry about that again. Set up a business for her, so that she can have enough time to carter home and your children. Women are better off doing business or teaching during their productive years.

He knew the truth, just looking for attention. Those defecting has thousands, if not millions who are directly or indirectly benefiting from them that must follow their directions. That is why majority is superior in any democratic setting.

Aside that, majority of them are crook or corrupt politicians that know how to bribe electorates on election days. APC I know will also use security forces to allow only their side to buy votes or merciless rigging.

Around 2022, I almost got killed by one way traffic violator, I was watching the only side vehicle are coming, not knowing he was coming from a wrong side. I don't even know how I escape it, all I know is that, I found myself landed heavily on the road side and sustained injury in both legs and hands.

Traffic violators are potential killers, it is an offence that should attract serious jail term. This particular person violated the rule, and at the same time running like a thief. Go and watch the video and see yourself.

And the Father who's supposed to be a good role model to his son should be jailed also he failed the boy...

What happens to following the traffic laws what lesson his he teaching his son?
I will blame the father the most, the only offence of that officer is unprofessional conduct by misfiring the tyres of the car. He used his stupidity to cut short the life of an innocent boy.

I was sentimental unti I saw the video of his reckless driving even when the police and FRSC mounted a barricades to stop him. He behave like kidnapper or arm robber who want to escape arrest in that video.

You can search for it on Facebook or any other Internet site.

I don't have any friends or know anyone who has the right papers and left his wife back home. You could say my circle of influence is not much nonetheless, I know over 70 married Nigerian men who are here with their spouses.

Why would you want to leave your wife in Nigeria? Is she some piece of furniture or artefact meant for decorating your house?
May God bless you.

No man will willingly leave his lovely family behind if he has the opportunity.

Those claiming they can't are mostly singles or are having bad relationships with their wives before the opportunity comes.
FamilyRe: Why Do Nigerian Men Leave Their Wives Behind In Nigeria? by yemmit90: 4:43am On May 21, 2025
Temitunz:
There’s a growing trend among Nigerian men relocating abroad while leaving their wives behind, sending only money home as if that’s enough to sustain a marriage. Financial support is important, but is it really a substitute for presence, partnership, and emotional connection?

Many of these women bear the weight of running the household alone, raising children without a father figure, and dealing with the loneliness of a distant marriage. Some endure years of waiting, hoping their husbands will return or send for them, only to face broken promises and fading love.

Marriage is more than just financial responsibility. If you're leaving your wife behind, are you also leaving behind your role as a husband and father?

Let’s talk what are your thoughts on this trend? Is money enough to sustain a marriage? #MarriageMatters #Relationships #NigerianMen #LongDistanceMarriage
Do the said men have chances of taking them along and refuse? Forget about what people are saying here, in reality, no man would be happy to leave his lovely wife and children willingly, he took the biggest sacrifice because he want better future for his family.

Majority of those leaving their wives in Nigeria are doing so because they don't have choice . You can't be gambling with poverty or uncertain future in Nigeria and say you won't move because you don't want to leave your wife and children.

You must be a loyal servant to lead, you can't be arrogant and go far in life. Your success would be limited, if you can't bow to your superior men along the journey of life.

This is the main reason Atiku failed to be President today. Same go to many politicians particularly from South East. No one entrust you with power if they sense you can't be submissive to them when you eventually get the power.

Infact to them, 1 vagina is worth more than a billion dollars.

As cruel as it may sounds, they are actually doing men a favour. Women may enjoy sex as well but they have innate gift to suppress the urge than men. A woman can stay months or years withiout sex, while you can hardly see an able body man that will stay off sex for months.

The one that pay for it is the one that enjoy or needed it the most. It is a simple logic some men don't understand.

Just take a look at someone talking about development that want to look into security before food.

What is the major causes of insecurity if not hunger and poverty. Perhaps he was talking on account of recent herdsmen problem, because I don't understand how an intelligent person will say security is important than food security.

Africa will forever remain underdeveloped, until we are able to solve our physiological needs like developed countries do. Food should be the cheapest thing in the land that even unemployed people can comfortably feed on good nutritions. Remove hunger and see how people will become so innovative and shun crimes.

Nigeria has never for once being blessed with intelligent leaders.

Not only grains, government need to do this on cows, goats and rams too.

An average big cow is not less than a million naira now, the same cows these Fulanis feed on people sweat and blood. Same go for the rams and Goats, an average big ram today is not less than 400k, while small goat that use to be 30k is now selling around 100k.

One of a great injustice and wickedness in this country is doing by Fulanis. They are making hundreds of millions on these cattles, yet they refuse to built ranches for their animals.

The propose "forest guard scheme" should be made to be under state or local governments. They should be mandated to cease or kill any cattle roaming around our forest and farmland. The big men and politicians who are the owners of these cattles should be prove and made to face the wrath of the law.

Nigeria Defence Academy has all you are talking about, it is almost the level as university with different courses( including intelligence unit and Health science). Perhaps you take those illiterate recruited combatants for those that went to NDA.

Besides, soldering is an art, and not what you just join withiout undergoing special training. There are qualified personnel among them but corruption has dwarf every effort made by good ones among them. The infiltration of locals and harsh desert terrain always make it so difficult for armies to defeat insurgents in the North. These guys are more sophisticated than you think, have they support and link to get more modern weapons and finance from advance Talibans, Hamas, and ISIS. Also, there are many informants among Nigeria soldiers that are sharing from crime proceeds perpetrated by these extremists.

Government should as matter of urgency declare a state of emergency in affected areas and seek more help from more experienced desert combatant Ecowas armies. By this, they would be thoroughly dealt with and push them back to Sahara up North Africa.

Love800:
Is match-making the same thing with arranged/referral marriage?
Not the same thing. Match making is modern way of connecting two strange people by a neutral or professional person who may not know anything about them. It is often doing for business purpose.

Arranges/referer on the other hand is a situation whereby a close relative, friend or parent recommend someone to you base on their personal relationship with that person. This is often doing for love, and they are most like not to recommend a bad person because they must have had a good relationship with that person or the family the person came from.

Majority of women going to match makers to find husbands for them are retired prostitutes, divorcees, greedy women, very bad character women, etc, while majority of men you see there are mostly looking for sex or rich ladies to dupe and turn to single mother.
RomanceRe: 7 Wrong Places Young Men Look For A Wife By Elonaires by yemmit90: 9:38pm On May 12, 2025
pansophist:
The best way to get a wife is through referral (AKA arranged marriage).

Let someone you know, that you trust, and have your best interest at heart help you search for a wife. If you choose a wife yourself, you are more likely to choose base on wrong reasons.

A woman that you find attractive can easily pass as a good wife. Especially when she knows you want a wife, and she may act as a camouflage of a good wife-to-be.

With referral, there is something called ''third-party accountability''.The referral has a sense of accountability to the outcome of your union, and it is in his best interest for the the relationship to work.

Also, referrers can see things objectively, they know you, and your potential wife, and can vouch for the suitability of both parties. A referrers will not look for a wife through social media for you.

It most likely will be a girl they have known for long, and everyone knows who she is. So you will have no fear if you are marrying a repentant public property. Referral by design will filter the rubbishes out.

The area that you might have to compromise on is on attraction, because a referred wife might not make your preek stand

But in the end, we will all settle. It is up to you if you want a beautiful marriage, or a warzone because you married a lady with a big behind.
That is why the marriage of our parents and forefathers last through the ages. In those days, it was a responsibility of parents, relatives or family friends to find partners for their children from reputable families.

I disagree with ur number one point
Church is one of the best place to find decent ladies.

I also disagree with schools and professional event, these are the places to find a career driven woman that will help u soar. Events are the easiest place to find connections and a lady who attends professional events already has connections.

Also friends suggestions is not bad, my brother's wife was suggested to him by a friend and he married her as a virgin, very beautiful and well behaved
Olosbo full Church on Sunday, I know many of them in my area that don't joke with Sunday service.

Though, he got it wrong with school and professional events and friends suggestion. Friends suggestions are always the best.

Social media and match making are the worse of them all. That is where retire hookup girls look for husband.

$4000 might looks too big to us but probably not to this couple. Besides, some people prioritise their happiness over all goodies in this world. It is when you have this money that you will realise money can't buy peace of mind if you don't have one.

Only a dumb person will chose money over his/her family, money can come and go, but the one close to your heart will stand by you in happiness or sorrow.

@ iLegendd

Even in advanced countries, places like China and USA, people work on the farm and other people work with different sectors.

I don't get the ideology behind always condemning academic certification.

You people hype agriculture like it's the only thing that can give you a path to wealth.

Lemme tell you, one of the reasons India is poor today is because most of their citizens are farmers, they spend most of their time on the farm and agricultural produce is their main source of income.

Almost all the countries have embraced self-dependent agricultural practice, this is not the 20th century when one particular country is dependent on another for food.

Too much of harvest will paralyse the price of agriculture produce.

Everybody cannot be on the Farm.
Some people need to keep your money.
Some people need to fix your machines that you use on the same farm.

Some people need to supply the fertilizers that you use.

Some people need to study on the best climate and water level to ensure maximum harvest.

Some people need to provide good roads to transport produce to where they can be sold.

Shelter is man's basic need. Some people need to study how to build good structures. All these things require academic certifications.

This is not rocket science. When there is too much harvest in the market, the price of farm produce drops and that's a loss for the farmers.

Farming is not for everybody, the same way white collar job isn't for everybody.

From 2009 to the fall of 2015. The price of cassava dropped very woefully at the markets in Oyo State. Do you know why?
It was because prior to 2009, cassava was sold at high price and many people because of that went into cassava farming in large scale so much more that there was a sudden influx of harvest into the market and the price dropped.

What about pepper? In 2013 to early 2021. A 50kg salt sac full of pepper sometimes was sold at ₦200 in shasha market because there was too much harvest.

I've been into crop farming and fish farming.

A certain individual came to me for consultation on fish farming so I took him to my uncle because I wasn't making any production that period.

My uncle had been raising fishes for about 30 years now. And lemme tell you the truth, last year he went about looking for a white collar job.

Farming can give you a very huge kind of money that you never expected in your life in one year, and take back all the money and even run you into debt the next two years.

I'm not saying white collar job is better than Farming. I'm only saying everybody cannot be at the same place.

Agriculture will give plenty of food, yes of course. But it cannot sustain the economy. People will be well fed, but they will be poor.

Look at India and Mali where 80% depends their livelihood on agriculture yet they are considered poor both by global and regional standards.

If you wanted to destroy Africa it is very easy.
I agree with the religious tactics.
The other thing you can do is to sow a seed of greed into the heart of everyone and see how we'll wipe one another out in less than 10 years
The only thing i can agree with n your write up is your emphasis on diversification.

The fundamental problem of poor Africans is not but inability to solve our physiological needs. For a country to break a chain of underdevelopment, food should be the cheapest thing her citizen should worry about. You can't succeed as country withiout robust human resource. It is humans that drive the economy and not the other way round. Foods and good nutritions are primary requirements to promoter better human resources. You cant be hungry and talk about development. Development is a collective endeavour that all citizen must be Carrie along. This is the secrete of developed countries that dumb Africans fail to copy.

For Nigeria or Africa to achieve a meaningful socio-economic development, we must first past through Agririans societies in a modern way( because our forefathers had miss out on this ladder of development). Mechanised farming should be our main focus in Africa. Food should be most cheapest thing to obtain that even unemployed person can comfortably feed with all round nutritious foods.

As absurd as this may sounds, we have no business with modernity brought by developed Europe and America if we want to succeed in Africa. We need to start from Agririan communities, to technological advancement.

Note: when talking about Agririan societies, all citizens are not expected to farm, what it means is that, majority of our needs and focus will come from the nature.
