Political parties are majorly relies on structures (both humans and materials structures), and those structures control the masses and eventually bring more voters.

For instance (human structure), Adamu being a strong politician can have 1000 benefactors directly or indirectly under his pay roll. These 1000 benefactors will have at least 10 persons( their immediate family and friends), directly benefiting from them. These people under them(voters), will follow their direction because that is where they obtain their daily breads. And no one on earth will disobey or intentionally block his/her benefactors for uncertainty somewhere else.

The writer is not far from the truth, especially if you have to buy Turkey of 8k or more per kilo. You will spend around 15k to buy Rice, vegvegetable oil, butter, pepper and other vital ingredients.

Go and study some of the events after 2019 general election, he tried his possible best to stop Tinubu but could not succeed. Buhari want Tinubu out and at the same time want to use APC structure to install his anointed successor. He knows that Tinubu being a strong pillar holding the coalition, any attempt to pull him out will jeopardize the chances of his anointed candidate.

Like I said before, Tinubu being a smart and intelligent politician has forseen this for a long time. He knew withiout New PDP and former ANPP, CPC can't do withiout ACN or win any election, so his first move was removal of new PDP/ANPP, which gave him a chance to have a large share of party structure under him.

Besides, Buhari having notice that CPC don't have real party structure but solely depends on his personality, it would be foolish for him to trade Tinubu for someone that opposition can easily defeat. He also fear being probe by opposition government should his candidate fail to win.

As for Atiku and Obasanjo saga, the former made a lot of mistakes during his political journey. He lacks patient, wisdom and always believe he can have his way even against all odds. He should've simply stay in PDP and take over after 4 years of Jonathan administration. Or better still, form a formidable opposition party and took his large followers out of PDP before the end of Obasanjo 2nd term.
