BusinessRe: What Happened To Me At The Bank Today by yemmit90: 12:27pm On May 04, 2024
Proudman1:
So, I received a good amount of money into my first bank account.

And they automatically freeze the account.

Something less than 100k.

So, I went to the bank to find out what the issue was about and they said I need to do KYC documentation.

My NIN and BVN are already with this people and I've been using this same account since 2015!

Ok, let me do the KYC na, they say my name doesn't match and I need to swear affidavit.

I went to court to do affidavit and then they submitted it and ask me to come back next week Wednesday.

The thing sha weak me because I no get any money to sustain myself till that Wednesday.

But the worst is the utility bill requirements. The support ask me to come with NEPA bill. I told her that I stay in the university hostel.

The next thing she said was that I should go to the university management and collect their NEPA bill and bring it to them shocked

I was like how in hell will that be possible? 🤷

Right now, I don't know what step to take sha. Because who for school management go gree give student school NEPA bill to go complete the student's bank account?
This happened to me back then with UBA, I got alert of 200k, went there to withdraw the next day but my account was already blocked

They asked me to bring another set of documents because my account is student one. I said no problem, but I needs to withdraw some money today to solve an urgent issue but they refused. I said well, since I was totally ignorant about this before, and they denied me an access to my account, then I will like to close it immediately. I was about to create a scene but quickly tell me to go to the inner room to meet someone. I explained to him about my ignorance of the whole stuffs and the needs for me to get some cash today. At the end of the day, he opened the account for me, and I withdrew what I needed. Infact I used the account for 3 more years withiout taking the documents to them, because I've already knew I can't have more than 200k in it.

It is very wrong of them to denied you of your money when they know you are totally ignorant of the issue. Next time, don't leave until you collect your money.

When you vote for your Yoruba presidential candidate, as it has always been since time immemorial, it's not tribalism but when the SE votes for a candidate from the SE, you get agitated and shout tribalism.

You are an ethnic bigot, LegendHero

The south east will always remain the most detribalised ethnic group in Nigeria and your f**cking opinion will never change that fact
You can't accuse any region in Nigeria in regards to tribalism. Every region tend to vote for their sons in any presidential election.

Ibo has no candidate in major parties before Obi, so you can't really say if you are triblaist or not. Besides, in 2003, PDP massively rigged all states, and Ojukwu that supposed to be a face of Igbo are very weak candidate and was rigged out as well.

In my own understanding of politics, SW is the only region that has a swing voters in Nigeria. But I must really commend SE for their loyalty to PDP since 1999, it was so unfortunate that the key players from the region were not that smart politically like SW to have used that to their advantage.

Let stop being tribalist, Nigeria need each region to function separately in their own ways.

That is why I always angry whenever some people praise our past leaders. Nigeria are not blessed with good and visionary leader since her political independence. The only person that would've made a little difference was chief Obafemi Awolowo, and they did everything to denied him.

Only those that witnessed fuel scarcity back then will know this current one is just a child play. So unfortunate that Nigeria is still the same after 30 years.

In this life not everybody you see really deserves a helping hand. I can tell you that some poor people are proud than some elites.
We once had a neighbour who we were very close to. As in family-friends. So one day i saw the trouser that my friend was wearing, the trouser was under-sized for him because he had grown taller than the trouser's length. And that is even one of his best trousers he wore to church.

So one day i picked some of my favourites clothings and jeans trousers even palm shoes. I ironed the clothes and some trousers and presented it to him. He was very glad and happy and showed his mum, the woman pretended to be happy about it sha.

But till date, i have never seen my friend wearing anyone of them. The thing pain me o because i still loved the clothes and shoes i gave him. I am even confused maybe it is my friend or his mother that are ingrate. What do you call this type of attitude?

Happy new month!
There are some gifts you don't give people irrespective of their situations to avoid unnecessary interpretation.

How do you feel comfortably giving out your used clothes to your Neighbours. I don't think that is right thing to do, you should have taken him to boutique and buy one or two brand new pairs for him instead. Aside your siblings, family members or friends that took your clothes out of love, the only people you should give used clothes to are beggers or lowest of the low in society.

It tells alot about the way you see him, you simply don't respect him or feel he doesn't deserve better at his situation.

Joe Ajaero isn't being reasonable. If Nigeria starts paying workers what he wants, it means that government will even borrow money to pay salaries while everything else is abandoned.

The biggest illusion we have in this country is to think that Nigeria is a rich country. I don't know how a country that budgets less than $50 billion for one year for 220 million people is rich. To date, I don't know what we are doing with two legislative houses.

Anyways, NLC and TUC should ask for something that is sustainable. Those who earn less than 100k should get 100% pay raise and those who earn more than 100% should get 30% pay raise.
So, someone earning 80k should get 100% increment to 160k, while those earning 110k/120 should get 30% increment to same 160k?

For instance.

Coca cola has more indirect employees and businesses than itself. If they close down. Those businesses will not dislodge the business created by Fanta.
Shifting base is not a big deal as far as business is concerned, so, I am still wondering how that will lead to unemployment. If business leave a particular location and lose its current employees(who could not follow), it will employ another set wherever it relocate to.

Or what do you think?

A lot of idiots have access to microphone in Nigeria. This writer has not been to a beach before.

There are more that 100 businesses that offer products and services in a moderate beach without any investment interest not to talk of 200 million dollars investment.

When a company of these size goes down, a lot of other smaller businesses that offers complimentary businesses and services go down.

The smaller businesses may have 5 to 10 employees but when you multiply it by the number of such businesses, you will understand the after effect of such businesses going down.
Don't you think that the affected businesses can easily relocate to another beach side or shift base after the area needed for road is marked?

Is demolition of business premises means the end of such business?

Though I would have prefer government use this money to fund electricity generation but since the contract has already being awarded, we dont have choice than to hope for its success.

Your answer to the above would determine the way you think... And I sincerely hope you can think well before answering.
This is not necessary, because from my previous replies to you, you should've known the direction of my thinking. And of course, I will take students responsible for the mass failure, not lecturer. Politics is a game of numbers, once majority of key players are against you, there is little or nothing you can do. Power has limit, besides, you can only exercise it through the key players you have. He started the fight too early, a wise politician would've endured until he got his second tenure or at least win majority of key players to his side .

Fubara is not foolish as you think, he can't do more than what he is doing. As a leader in democratic settings, the only power you have are majority that can work and die for you. Ambode back then would've got away with his 2nd term but majority of key players were not on his side.

Somehow you think it's the fault of the 95% who couldn't score above 250? Bro, the result is a reflection of the educational system, stop using your experience to judge the situation.

Normally, with your score of 248, back then you wouldn't be able to gain admission into certain courses like Law or STEM courses. Now imagine a situation where the vast majority like 95% couldn't make it up to that score of yours! This isn't about unseriousness, 95% is almost everyone bro!
Yes I will say, it is their fault, parents and probably the channel in which the exams were carried out. Go and check jamb questions from 1980's till now, you will see it is still the same syllabus and questions throwing out every year.

As for the computer base test, you don't expect a student who have been so used to screen for entertainments purpose to concentrate when reading or answering question on the same screen. His/her subconscious mind would've divided into partially visualise the jargon that is already in memory. These students would've performed more than this on old paper format.

248 back then was not cheap either, Law, medicine sc, pharmacy, architecture, are all above 250 but people still use below 240 to gain admission on supplementary and VC lists.

Though I buy your idea of enrolling them in A level class for a year after secondary school.

The ministry of education is to blame. As funny as this sounds, let me break it down:

Most JAMB questions are based on A-level curriculum and for students to pass convincingly, they must read thoroughly, much beyond the scope of O'level syllabus covered in secondary schools. In the UK, students are meant to attend 6th form college where A-level courses are taught, thus preparing them for A-level exams and further studies.

We have an exam that is too advanced for most school leavers, but because the majority of students who pass have always depended on EXPO, we refused to talk about it.

Instead of the FG to have students stay at home up till 18, maybe we should add A-level colleges to the academic system so that students can either chose to write JAMB upon finishing secondary school or enter through A-level/Direct entry into 200 level.
That is not probably the case sir, I don't know how they do it now but during my time, everything you can see in jamb questions are what you could easily find or read in many secondary school text books.

God bear me witness, I don't even have time to read during my time because I was working then, and i scored 248. Maybe my brain was too mature for jamb thing back then than children of these day, I don't know.

I blame parents and children for the massive failure. You may be surprise that majority of parents and students are no longer interested in books but entertainments.

The right question to have asked is whether a family that is looking for money to feed will prefer to buy chicken or substitute with fish, bush rat meat, or other protein sources?

As a broiler farmer, there is a limit to which you can set prices or you price yourself out of the market. Consumers have choices.

So instead of buying a bag of feed for 20k, the farmer will opt to use his money elsewhere.
You have said it all, this is how you know people who have been there before.

Only those that really understand the dynamism of Nigeria market will understand better. Even me that own frozen store know better despite my little advantage over many farmers. Chicken is still consider luxury among teaming population in Nigeria, about 85% only eat it during festive period, while the rest can easily find alternative in meat and fish if the price is too high.

This is not to discourage anyone, this is reality on ground. That is why many big farmers prefer layers and POL sales.
AgricultureRe: High Cost Of Day Old Chicks. What Is The Cause? Any Solution? by yemmit90: 1:24pm On Apr 29, 2024
epainos:
That 20% is part of it. The challenge with you is that you don't see droplets of water as a possibility of forming a mighty ocean. Lol. This is why everyone looks at this issue the same way in Nigeria.

Despite the cost of feed here, the possibility of selling DOCs is still there at a very small scale. So, instead of 10%, I may shoot it to 40%. Droplets of water form a mighty ocean. All I gat to do is talk to one of the marketers and supply at a good price. That's it. I won't pay for DOCs, and I make extra profit. Who doesn't want to make more money. Just a little production. That's all.

This is the reason I can sell extra DOCs. Lol.

The way you command things confidently is funny. Lol.. smiley You are using a tiny microscope to view the whole paparazzi. You have not yet fully explored all areas. When you realise that over 30 million people live in Lagos alone, then you know there will always be a market for it. Shikena. All you have to do is sit down and think.

I have mentioned the principle of retailing as my newest strategy. This is the only way you can make it in this economy. Go and check...you can only make it as a supplier if you produce massively so you can cut down drastically the cost of production like dangote. But supplying as a small scale is not worth it. Just struggle to move into retailing to maximize profit.

What you are thinking of is live chicken sales... and frozen chicken. Are these the only horizontal lines of production in poultry for over 300 million people? Think very well. Move down the lane of production.

Like I said....I am not doing supply. Supplying in this economy is not worth it. Selling to direct customers is the way out. So, think... how can you sell your products directly to consumers? Retail them. And what is the capacity you can sell? This will determine how to go about it. Snacks, fast food, additions to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, etc.

If you have to move into cooked food, why not?

Those buying frozen chicken, what are they doing? Research the ones you can do and start. You may need to downsize the production of meat on your farm. And at the end of the day, you will make more money.
Ok, let assume you are right, so that you can have practical experience of what I am telling you today when you eventually started.

The fact that you are looking at population shows you have never been there before, because if you were, you won't use that as yardstick in judging market situation in Nigeria where over 85% only eat chicken during festive period. All those barbecue, snacks, lunch, etc only exist as good idea, it doesn't work or sustain you as average or big farmer because you can't keep broilers in your pen and be selling on tiny portion withiout incurring loses.

One thing you should know is that, you can never ever have competitive advantage in poultry business due to perishable nature of the products.

Let die this matter.

AgricultureRe: High Cost Of Day Old Chicks. What Is The Cause? Any Solution? by yemmit90: 10:17am On Apr 29, 2024
My assessment as someone in the game;

1. Chicken is very scarce now due to high cost of production, which already cut off about 50% of farmers and quantity in the market.

2. Demands for chicken is still very low but still enough for few quantity in circulation. alot of people can't afford it, but due to the fact that only few farmers are still in the business, the price is moderately ok.

3. Opening or closing of border doesn't hindered supply of frozen food, the major problem is exchange rate of cefa to naira. Except dollar come down to around #700, local poultry farmers will still have competitive advantage in the market.

4. If the price of feed is not come down, and dollar drop hard below 1k after opening of border, majority of local poultry will shut down.

5. The few that are left in the business are making good profits now than before.

Additionally, alot of Farmers are just giving excuses of high cost of feed and materials as a major reason they shut down, the real reason is that, they have used the business capital to survive Tinubu economy grin grin. Is it a family that is looking for money to feed that will use about 20k to buy a bag of feed? Dey play cheesy
AgricultureRe: High Cost Of Day Old Chicks. What Is The Cause? Any Solution? by yemmit90: 9:52am On Apr 29, 2024
epainos:
Lol. You aren't getting it. Maybe I think more forward than most people. Many hatcheries will close down more when imported frozen chickens flood the market. Most of these farmers still buying day-old chicks at above N1,000 are still enjoying Buhari's ban. By the time Tinubu's unabanning these products start showing them pepper, over 90% of them buying now will stop. So, who will produce chicks for me that time? Yes, there will still be, but adulterated products flooding the market is a possibility. I need to guard against this. Plus, no matter how you see it, removing the cost of buying day-old chicks is smart. Only that most people cannot get it right. But I will.

Also, why do you think I can't have a cheap setup? Must I run a commercial hatchery for my scale? So, don't jump into conclusion of what you really don't understand.

This paragraph is based on your level of marketing and sales experience. There are various ways of doing it better than this. Of course, you have not covered the market well. The only grace is NOT selling live chicken. No. You are wrong here.

Now, I like this. And if you can think out of the box, you will realise that there are still channels that can open up even when imported frozen chickens flood the market. Only those who can think out of the box will make it during this time...and they will make it big.
You don't seem to understand my post sir, let me break it down for you.

If market is already saturated with cheap imported chicken, there is no way you will break even with the high cost of feed, drugs and other materials. Besides, feed amount to over 75% of total cost, so tell me how will you break the market when you produce only 20% of total cost of production? Remember you will still feed this patient stock and pay hatchery fees as well, so this bring you down to only 10% of total production cost. And contrary to your opinion, major hatcheries in Zatech, CHI, Agrited, Amo, Sayeed, Tuns, farm support, Finance, etc, can never shut down, and they contributes about 90% of DOC supply in Nigeria. If you want to get a parent stock, just sell your DOC weekly and rear only when the price is poor, that is the only way you can enjoy the business because DOC only contribute 20% of total cost of production.

Finally, can you mention other channel you can sell your mature broilers?
AgricultureRe: High Cost Of Day Old Chicks. What Is The Cause? Any Solution? by yemmit90: 5:40am On Apr 29, 2024

Yes, you are right. Overall, production has dropped, but the few farmers still buying have more demands than the leftover hatcheries. Well, since the borders have been opened for imported poultry products, it is a matter of time....the whole business will soon collapse. So, I am getting ready for such a day, and it is why I am starting my personal hatchery. I
Lolz, your personal hatchery won't help if cheap imported frozen chicken flooded Nigeria market as majority of Frozen chicken buyers prefer imported ones with tough meat than what we produce locally. The only grace that would be left by then is selling of life chicken to those who loves fresh meat, and in this arrangement, only middlemen take bulk of profit and not farmers. Like you've rightly said, the whole business may soon collapsed, especially if the price of feeds and DOC dont come down significantly.

To excel in poultry business, you must have a market channel that will bring you to final consumers.

The demand can not be higher now because the cost of feed is high. Nope. The demand actually dropped because many farmers japa. However, the demand is higher than supply. It is a different thing for dd to be higher than ss, and dd now lower than before. The few farmers still producing cannot get enough chicks. Sellers have downsized, too. That feed issue made producers pack up.

The price of imported chicken is reducing cos dollar has reduced. It was sold for N4,500 per kg around my neighbourhood but has come down to N4,200.

So, it is low production. How many hatcheries are operating now. Go verify it. Most of them are out of business presently.

How can demand for broilers be high now when feed cost is extremely high? That feed cost drove hatcheries out of business. And how many farmers can afford to buy feed now? The demand for local has not gone over any rood sir. Still what it is. And people still buy more imported frozen chicken.

How many farmers are still operating on NL?
You might be right because alot of small scale farmers has left the business. The production capacity of farmers in Nigeria has dropped by almost 50% due to the high cost of production, particularly feed.

Though demand could partly be responsible for that but the current surge in price of DOC might be due to low production by the hatcheries. This is only way they can control the price, and it is very easy for them to achieve because they are very few in numbers.
