Celebrities / Re: Dbanj's Interview On Why He Didnt Occupy Nigeria & Others Issues by yemmyma: 9:29am On Feb 20, 2012
I like D'banj as everybody does on this forum, but i will say this, his music should only be listened to for free on radio and not bought.

Why?

He made a song for Oga Jona, yet he claims he is not a politician
He did not support Nigerian youths during the fuel subsidy and claimed he was unaware
The question directed to him was not too bad as a youth ambassador yet he decided he needed to evade those questions
He was asked questions that directly affects the ability of the fans that are paying for his music, but he claimed he only wanted to promote his show.

Nigerians, please rally round, don't make this man take us a fool, if he doesn't make music, i am sure we will survive with other talents. If only i had my way i will make a Occupy Nigeria to ban his music everywhere around my space

Education / Re: Nigeria: 118 Students Graduate From Unilag With First Class Honours by yemmyma: 1:25pm On Feb 18, 2012
Unfortunately, i had to share my thoughts on this ,

When i was studying in Yabatech, we had around 86 students in my dept, and in the first year, about 21 students had Upper Credits (3.00 out of 4) and one distinction.

Three students left for Unilag from our class,

2 of them who were not even with upper credit suddenly started their GPA with 4.00 out of 5.

The only student who has distinction amongst us who also went to Unilag unfortunately started out way poorly than them but that doesn't take away my respect from him as I know him to be a genius.

I myself with my upper credit from Yabatech went out of Nigeria to study for undergrad, trust me I did not graduate with 4 out of 5. If I had to work my ass off and stay in school at the same time which i was not doing in Nigeria.

The morale of the story here, sometimes comparing schools incomprehensibly can be a big mistake. Only a genius is a genius anywhere, but a good student in one school can be an average student somewhere else and vice versa. Remember, there are lots of factors that determine how well you perform, take the type and styles of lecturers for example.

Jokes Etc / I Invite You To See Emeka by yemmyma: 10:05am On Feb 12, 2012
Emeka told his Oga at the shop to wait at the gate and pick him up after his Commerce exam at the Commercial Secondary school where he was registered.

He was given Commerce Exam question paper and the only question he could answer was question number 3 and it says:
''Differentiate between a Warehouse and a Shop.''(20marks)

After much thinking he smiled and wrote his answer:
Warehouse is at Ojota while shop is at Alaba.
Then he submitted his paper and went to meet his Oga at the gate.

Oga : Emeka , how did it go?

Emeka: It was so simple Oga, question number three says: Differentiate between a Warehouse and a Shop.

Oga : And what did you write ?

Emeka: Well I wrote that warehouse is at Ojota while shop Is at Alaba.

Oga : So is that all you wrote ?

Ebuka : Yes .

Oga : Common go back and put the phone numbers and Complete address, stupid boy! That's how you lose customers, idiot!!!

Culture / Re: What Aspects Of Our Nigerian Culture Should Be Abolished? by yemmyma: 3:43pm On Feb 08, 2012
my personal opinion.

The Nigerian culture of over respecting elders should be looked into. In a lot of cases these elders have always taken us for a ride and that is why the youths have not been able to raise their voice in contributing to the country. Although things are changing, with the likes of Omoyele Sowore of Sahara reporters any Nigerian youth that feel cheated by an elder should seek justice immediately.

Education / Re: The State Of The English Language In Nigeria by yemmyma: 8:16am On Feb 05, 2012
As far as we are Nigerians, our English skills can only deteriorate because of bad teachers around. Of course, our older people seem to speak it better because of their closer rapport to the our colonial masters. But these days most of our (especially the uneducated) parents do not speak to us well in English except the ones we learn at school.

Most Nigerian youths speak their native language more often when they are in a closer group. Why? because their mates make fun of them when they make mistakes.

English is a more universal language but don't live in most countries in Europe except U.K thinking it will save you. Learn another language either French or German and see how far you will go.

Unfortunately for the ibos on this thread

@Dayokanu has answered all your grievances.

You all claim to be united and brave, yet you can't find an individual that is worthy to be put forward for presidency? You all must have brain tumour.

Is the reputation you have created for yourself that good that other tribes in Nigeria would envy?

@yemmy did you just say "sincere posts". That's very funny! Trying to paint yourself as an innocent bystander and at the same time pointing fingers and making some accusations. Very very funny!

Well did you not see the title of my post? Whatelse do you want me to state?
Politics / Re: Ojukwu Burial, Is It Worth The Hype? by yemmyma: 4:57pm On Jan 30, 2012
Thank you everyone for your post, of course i did not know there are so many igbo people on this thread coming out to show their anger at my sincere post of governors squandering Nigeria's money.

If you want to know, his burial ceremony is termed: Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Friday hosted the National Funeral Committee of the Late Ikemba Nnewi, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, pledging the support of the State Government to the Committee to ensure a befitting burial for the former Military Governor of the defunct Eastern Region.

The bold word says it all for all of you asking if Nigeria is going to a stand still. The Governor who said the Late Ikemba Nnewi was as much a Lagosian as he was a Nigeria, also pledged to handle directly from his office the logistic challenges that would be posed by transfer flights from Lagos to Enugu for foreign dignitaries transiting to Enugu for the final funeral event of the deceased on February 29, 2012.

Remember, you people did not come out to fight with us when we were protesting for fuel subsidy. Yet our money and tax will be used to transfer foreign dignitaries to Enugu right?

All of you who just came out to exercise your english prowess just to yab me, you are not ethnicomentally straight.

This your thread would start a shitstorm. I would have voice my opinion but then again, Imma let it slide for now. I couldnt be bothered about his funeral.

At least your name shows you are igbo and you said you are not bothered why are these people taking things the other way?

Valon4ego:

alas! Your true motive for creating this tread! I wonder why we are so hypocritical in NL! Look who's talking and calling others "ignorant"  lol!

Well my true motive to ask why the whole Nigeria should be at a standstill for a burial that don't impact on the other parts of the country?

I really don't want to answer you.

Which foolish opinion do you want people to share? You know nothing about him, yet you feel there's so much hype about his burial.
E be like say you no get work.

You seem to be angry but i refuse to be carried away by your ignorance. It hurts you so bad that not all Nigerians are concerned by the burial of Ojukwu.

executinal:

use your google, read abouth OJUKWU, then come back and ask your question again. case closed angry

Seriously, i really don't have interest in knowing much about him. But I hope he rests well wherever he is.
Politics / Ojukwu Burial, Is It Worth The Hype? by yemmyma: 9:53am On Jan 30, 2012
I have seen the whole preparation behind the burial of the late Ojukwu. Apart from the fact that i suspect many Governor's in the east to use this as a cash siphoning avenue, i also would want to know if there is really any need for this larger than life burial ceremony?

PS; I guess i don't know much about him to be asking this question, but for those who know, does it really mean that the whole Nigeria should be involved in this whole burial or just the East should be concerned?

GIO,

Do you currently work in Supply Chain? Do you have 3 years experience? If the answer is yes, i don't see why you won't get full membership with CIPS upon graduation provided your school has accreditation from them.

Hope that helps. But, I don't know if their experience is post Ms degree or can be pre Ms degree

We create beautiful place like this for foreigners to come and enjoy, while sufferness is made for our own citizens despite abundant resources.

Obudu cattle ranch won't save Nigeria of her mess. Develop the whole country and people will troop in large numbers.

Programming / Re: Female Programmers Stand Up And Be Counted by yemmyma: 3:34pm On Nov 22, 2011
My observation about this topic is that women are not generally much in the Computer programming industry and this is not only peculiar to Nigeria. It has just been a male dominated sector. But the truth is, any woman who tries to get into the field will almost not go hungry because there will be an emotional thing attached to her either when she is looking for work or at work. Even if she is not that good.

I live in Europe and i can tell you this same thing is presently been discussed around here. So maybe spare Nigerian women on this one.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Christiano Ronaldo Vs Messi by yemmyma: 11:54am On Nov 10, 2011
I recently saw Kaka's interview on who should win the FIFA footballer of the year award and he said that Messi is great but Ronaldo has an edge.

What actually caught my eye was that he said Ronaldo is the best player he has played with and that Ronaldino comes close.

And now my confusion: Who is the better player in their prime, Christiano Ronaldo or Ronaldinho?

Please help me with your views because i used to think Ronaldinho was better than both Ronaldo and Messi during his time just that he had a short time at the top and then consequently toyed with his career.
