Thanks a lot. You're very correct. The thing is that we were bold enough to actually use it. Now we know it's acceptable. 40manlappy: Glad to know that it worked for you. I recall the debate on the previous thread about how 25% may be used as a support to POF and the suggestions that were offered.
Sometimes, all it takes is for one or two people to be convinced about a cause and forge ahead. This may be how gift deed emerged even though it is not listed explicitly on IRCC's website.
Once again, congrats on your PPR |

I took 6 months' statement of account. 3. Pension – N...,483,.... - $....,170 CAD The balance in my pension account as at 14th August, 2017 is N....,685 (Please refer to my Stanbic IBTC RSA Funds statement of account). 25% of this amount which is N....,...421 will be accessible to me within 4 months of resignation. Part III, Section 7 – (2) of the Pension Reform Act 2014 corroborates this fact. Please refer to the attached reference letter from IBTC Pension Managers to confirm this fact; and the link below to access the Pension Reform Act 2014. Also was the pension statement for just a month or 6 months? Thanks for your detailed information. |

Lol!! Abeg no vex oh but huuuhhhh...after PPR, GCMS again?? Shouldn't we just be happy with the knowledge that pension is definitely acceptable? I'll try sha, but nothing promised ajiifixing: Nice One Yimiton, I would (on behalf of people still looking for ITA) want to ask you to request for your GCMS so we can see how CIC commented on the use of 25% pension fund. This would be a guide to future applicants who would like to use same.
Na beg I dey beg on their behalf o. |

Yes, God is indeed awesome. We're looking at January and will be landing in Ontario (coldest time in Ontario...I know!). We still have quite a bit to sort out, so we do not want to rush things Your blog is so informative. I have visited it several times and taking notes like I'm preparing for an exam. impish: Congrats sis!! This is an amazing timeline!!! God is awesome!
When do you intend to land in Canada? December?

The 25% covered about 20% of my POF. I don't see any reason why you can't use it really. So long as it's clearly stated that the funds will be available to you within 4 months. Investfirst: Congrats. Pls regarding the use of pension as Part of pof, could you pls state what percentage 25% RSA covered. Am about to use same and just want to be sure, the portion am using pension fund to make up is not so much eg having 4m and using pension to make up balance for a family of four? |

I tried to reply your mail but it kept bouncing back. For my Tbills, I had some money with my office cooperative, which I withdrew and put in T.bills for 182 days at 18%. I used First Bank and I collected my interest upfront. The Tbills was done in July and I got ITA in August and submitted same August. First Bank prepared my letter in the CIC format and they included my Tbills. I had very little money in my regular account (about N300k). I then did an LOE explaining the source of the funds and attached my pay slips to demonstrate that the money was deducted from my account monthly. I also attached my statement of account, highlighting where the Cooperative paid the money into my account. For the Pension funds, I prepared a letter, asking my Pension Administrators (Stanbic IBTC) to write to CIC confirming that I have retirements funds with them which I can assess within 4 months of being out of job. I also requested that they should attach my retirement statement of account of 6 months. They did as I asked without any hesitation. I picked the letter up the next day. I explained the Pension funds in my LOE and refereed them to the relevant portion of the Pension Funds Regulations. I hope this helps? You can send the mail again, let me respond and see if it will make any difference. jonababa: Please can you explain your experience with POF esp25% pension and Tbills.
NB: u sent you a maik. Will appreciate if you can reply.
Thanks and congrats |

And that was what I did too. Why take unavoidable risks? Ehrnie: Hi - my advise: If the valid passport has no stamps on it and your spouse has travel history with relating stamps on the old passport, I will advise you scan pages of the old passport and submit that too. You only need pages that have visa markings and stamps.
This is what I would do ......better safe than sorry. |

enocoded4life: Hello everyone, I have been following this thread for sometime now and have really learnt alot. I would like to hear your thoughts on mine and hubby's profile and the best route to take to increase our chances. My profile : Age : 33 Degree: BSc & MSc in Anatomy ECA: ongoing with WES Occupation : Lecturer (for 5years) IELTS: RSLW 9, 7.5, 7.5, 6.5 Please do you think I should rewrite the IELTS or apply for a remark of the writing? This is the lowest I have ever scored in writing. My previous scores were 8 in academic writing and general. You absolutely have no business thinking about a provincial nomination. If you get better scores in your writing (7)and listening ( you will get about 447 points if your spouse decides to assess his BSC. If he doesn't assess his BSC, you'll get 439. With both scores, you're almost 100% sure of getting direct ITA, so why will you want to consider provincial nomination? Please either you ask for a remark of your IELTS or write another one. |

Hmmmm.....this is a good question. We stocked up on Vitamin C and prayed, and left it at that. It also helps that we hardly ever visit the hospital in Nigeria.
I am not certain that this was the right approach.

Please I need help oh.
Having received our PPR (still feeling the euphoria of that email) we're trying to decide when to make the move. Our decision will be based heavily on our 3.5 year old son's school.
Being that he will be 4 in February, will he be allowed to start kindergarten this year? If yes, when does the academic year start? If no, when do we have to register him in a school district and when can he start?
We intend to settle in London, Ontario. |

I simply went to my pension administrators (IBTC) with a letter requesting that they should prepare a letter addressed to CIC to the effect that I will have access to 25% of my pension within 4 months of resignation. I also asked for 6 months statement of account, which I scanned and added to my other proof of funds. I did an LOE in a tabular form at the end to show the different amounts. Lamgirl: Congratulations... Pls I will like 2 know how u use 25% of Pension? Wat 2 do? Really need d info. Thanks |

No, not at all. We didn't notice any refusal based on previous declined visas. What we noticed is that people who have had previous visa denials tend to stay long on NA2, which delays their PPRs as compared to people who have never had previous denials. We concluded that they conduct more stringent background check just to ascertain why their visas were previously declined but at the end, everyone gets their PPRs. Lamgirl: I don't understand dz earlier visa refusal issue? Does dat mean one will be rejected becos of it? Even though hubby is d PA n has Neva bn refused but I was once refused wit my son while trying 2 hv my daughter over dere. Anoda thing is dat I didn't state den dat I was pregnant, even though dere wasn't anywhere 2 fill in dat but dey will surely knw nw dat I had my daughter 9 weeks after refusal. Pls is dz a prob? |

From the analysis we conducted in a whatsapp group, that seems to be the case. So, your husband's refused visa might be the culprit. Noviolence: Never had any visa refusals before, but my spouse had,and we answered "yes" to the questions as well. Could that be a reason? Maybe not. It's just a theory though. |

Hi Guys, my PPR is here and I really want to thank God for it.
Our application wasn't in anyway perfect.
Things we were scared we didn't get right:
1. We used 25% pension to complete our POF 2. We didn't upload my spouse's IELTS but raised a CSE about 2 days after AOR 3. Used LOE to explain that the part of the POF which was in T.bills was withdrawn from my cooperative savings account
Timeline: CRS: 438 ITA: 9th August 2017 AOR: 23rd August Medical passed/IP1: 6th Sept NA2: 8th Sept IP2: 15th Sept PPR: 15th Sept Family of 4
The PPR mail landed at 3.01am but we saw it at 9am today.
Our status still hasn't updated but hey, we have the mail.
In all, we give God the glory and we recognise that He alone made this happen. |

I wonder why they'll wait that long before transferring it if they decide to. Have you had any visa refusals before? It would appear that they do that mostly to people who have had prior visa refusals. Maybe they just want to conduct more thorough checks. Noviolence: This LVO file transfer after close to 7 or 8 weeks at the CIO is more or less the trend these days. We're not staying in LVO for that long this time around. Say amen. |

Congrats! folamingo: Hi guys, finally application approved, COPR and Visas on hand. The journey came with its delays, from waiting to get medical passed to BG status changing to IP2 and the wait for the Golden email to the finally getting passports on hand but God saw us through it all. Hallelujah!
AOR - PPR - 116 days PPR - COPR - 42 days ....delayed partly because I did not send my kids US passport initially (sent only data color page), they later requested for it which you saw in the timeline and also Pick up mail wasn't sent out the next day.

Please forget Manitoba and apply to express entry directly. Your 458 is more than enough to give you an ITA. Azy123: Hi all,
Asking on behalf of a friend.
- I would like to ask if it is advisable for hubby to apply for Manitoba nomination now. The information I have is that they have not nominate for about a year now.
My CRS score when I checked the CRS tool ( assuming 8,7,7,7 LRSW ) is 458. Hubby CRS - 406
Should I go on and start the process or wait for Manitoba Provincial nomination to begin as my hubby siblings are currently living there. |

If your wife gets this your IELTS score with her MSC, her age and 3 years job experience, your CRS will go through the roof! you'll get ITA like yesterday. smslive2: See my IELTS Result below... Highest Education: BSc
Awaiting Wifey's IELTS, she has MSc and age 28.
Hopefully she would be the PA. |
