You only need to assess your MSc. Even your BSc is not necessary and definitely, your SSCE is not necessary as well. Note that whether you assess both BSc and MSc or only MSc, you'll get the same points in education, so its unnecessary to assess both. funshobabs: Hello house,
Just visited the WES webpage and there's a section to upload WEAC result. I want to get my MSC and undergrad degree assessed, must I do an assessment for WAEC?
I don't have my undergraduate certificate just transcript pls house is transcript sufficient or I must get my certificate?.
Pls house help me answer these questions. Thank you. |

Thanks Blackbuddy: Yes, it is advisable to obtain and keep evidence of any/all large inflow of funds into your account that serves as your POF. AVO has recently started requesting explanation of source of certain POF from Nigerians. I believe it has to do with the recent upsurge of fraudulent POF documents presented by applicants from Nigeria. |

I'd also done the maths and totally agree with you. Converting it will be better in the short run. However, we're reluctant to change our POF to Naira because of Naira's volatility. We're concerned that if Naira crashes again, we'll be left with a whole less than we'd be making if we leave it in dollars now. Besides, we'll ultimately change all our money to dollars if and when we get PPR being that Naira can't be assessed outside the shores of Nigeria. We'll think about it critically again and decide whether or not to change it. Thanks for your suggestion and analysis. Kontagious: In another case of yours, I was thinking about POF in foreign currency, then felt it might be a disservice if you provide POF in dollars especially if the funds was gotten at black market rate (regardless of when it was gotten). I'd give a scenario and a check to buttress this opinion; Using USD for my analysis, assuming you have $10,000, this at present black market rate of N367/$ implies you have N3,670,000 but to the VO using official rate of N306 to a USD, your $10,000 is worth just N3,060,000! Remember bulk of your POF is in Naira, now with addition of some in USD, I'd want to assume the VO will convert all to a base currency, more like Canadian dollar. To the check, see for yourself on oanda what "N4,000,000 + $10,000" comes to in CAD, then check what "N4,000,000 + N3,670,000 (assuming you change the $10,000 to Naira at black market) comes to in CAD... You'd see the latter gives you more value than the former. In fact, almost 2,000CAD more!. In essence, if your dollar you got at black market rate is changed using official rate, my dear, you've lost significant value! Thus, it will be to your advantage to change back that foreign currency at aboki's rate then present a N3,670,000 than a $10,000. PS. All figures and rates used are hypothetical, i don't know what amount you have nor applicable rates. Others can throw more weight. |

You're correct and based on the highlighted below, I changed my NOC entirely. Fortunately, I also do some admin work in my department, so I chose NOC 1221 and will be building my reference letter around that NOC. Telecoms Compliance specialist is not provided for in the NOCs. Chisosin4now: Hello yimiton. I am new here and still reading through the pages. I saw somewhere you quoted that your noc is 4423 i.e by-law enforcement officer and it draw my attention because it's also related to mine roles in the office....but I just saw that noc 4423 falls under skill level C which is not eligible for express entry application. Please clarify if am wrong. Thanks

Are you using a Naira denominated debit card? If yes, you need to get a dollar denominated card to successfully pay. If you have a GT bank account, you can get one immediately. You'll however, be required to fund the account with dollars. Just walk into a GTbank and ask about their Pre-paid dollar card. Information on it should also be available online. superdoll: I have tried iqas payment like 10 times. I get the response 'sorry your payment did not go through' Any idea what is wrong? Pleaseeeee |

I presume you're single and without a sibling (sister or brother) in Canada. If that is the case, your CRS is 413 if however, you have a sibling, it will be 418. Considering that the last lowest ranked candidate invited to apply was 499, 413 looks small. However, before the introduction of sibling and French scores, 413 was the lowest that was invited. We believe the required CRS will keep reducing, so it's possible that 413 might quality for an ITA in a months or even weeks' time. Alternatively, you can accept to apply to Ontario when they send you their interest letter, but you'll be required to pay a fee of $1,500CAN. My advise is that you should go into the pool immediately, make your proof of funds (POF) ready and start gathering required document. I think you'll need $12,000CAN for your PoF. I am confident that you'll get invited soon enough. You can use this link to confirm your CRS. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp Blitzenkreig66: Hi Ladies and Gents,
could someone please Kindly help compute my FSW points. I keep getting 66points out of 100 meaning I am 1 point short of eligibility to apply.

WES sends email and regular snail mail to Unilag. Unilag responds to the email although, sometime, they'll claim that they haven't seen it. If you have a contact there or if you can afford to go to Exams and Records yourself, go there and follow up. They can send the response within a week if you follow up closely. WES is ok with an email response. And one last thing, if you can personally follow up, you don't need to pay anyone. They'll check in your presence to confirm whether or not they've received it and tell you when they'll respond. philip3: Hello. just received a mail from wes that unilag has been contacted for verification. just wanted to find out from anyone if it is sent by mail or email and is unilag responsive to such requests? cheers. |

Thanks a million! I really appreciate your response, particularly the part about explaining the PoF in a table. That will make it much more straight forward and easy to understand Kontagious: Yimiton, please stop worrying yourself. Sometimes back, someone uploaded a section of letter of rejection (I think). In the letter, it was clearly stated that they are aware the applicant is entitled to 25% of the pension fund. Thus, they have calculated and added that portion to the POF, yet, the sum didn't come up to the required amount! If it was stated that, they are aware of the 25% then why worry yourself? Again, I think in this referred instance, the VO added the 25% on his own thinking without the applicant mentioning it. I would advice as its been stressed before, that you do a simple calculation (in tabular form) in your LOE stating what amount is coming from Tbills, your dom account and the pension fund. Then remember to do a Total column and probably add another column for required amount. I believe the details in tabular form will give easy and fast understanding, back this up with a worded explanation. If i were in your shoes, my dear, I will worry less about having required amount. My opinion. |

Thanks for taking your time to explain. I also felt that way and that was why I brought the case here for other people's opinion. MummyJaygirls: Cic says N100 for an applicant, u have N80 and want to make up with N20 from pension that is not readily accessible, cic MAY frown at that(as we've seen in some cases)
However, if u have ur N100 PoF complete and u also attach ur 25% pension money as jara, cic won't complain.
Just to be safe, try and get ur 20% balance from somewhere or someone, let accompanying spouse send it to the PoF account, attach letter saying it's his/her contribution to the movement. After u submit return the 20% to its original source.
It's better to be safe than sorry, but like I said "what do I know" na my own I talk. You may or may not do as I've suggested. Good luck! |

What is the difference between proof of funds and supporting funds pls? Pensions was referred to in the document that was shared in line with POF. I was thinking that being that we'll require it to make up only the balance of 20% and not the entire POF, that it might be ok. Do you mean even that might not be unacceptable. MummyJaygirls: Pension can be used as "supporting funds" not as PoF as it's not readily available. Anyways, what do I know make we all sha reach Canada be d koko |

Hello everyone, please does anyone have an answer to my query? I need to know if I can use Pensions as balance for our PoF.
No ITA yet but we are gathering required document in preparation for ITA.
We are a family of 4 and have gathered pretty much everything but Proof of funds is still a little issue. We have about 80% of the required funds (T.bills and domiciliary account) but we are concerned about the balance 20%. Can we use our pensions' accounts to make up the balance? 25% of our pensions is more than what we actually need to make up the balance.
Thanks for your anticipated responses. |

I actually made a guess of the certificate number before arrival by using 16 on my EE profile but got 2 things wrong, I had to go back to correct it. Two zeros were also added before the exam number, I added one. Yours might be different though. I think the exam digits should be six in number hence the reason for 2 zeros. It's 17NG0... once again.

Let your wife be the principal applicant. With her age, she'll have more points and stand a better chance of getting an ITA. Issyman: Good morning to u all, I have been a silent follower of this thread for a some months now and really want to appreciate all of you that have proffered solutions to other people and also to the MAJOR CONTRIBUTORS that are never tired of answering questions and giving suggestions on how to go about the process; KUDOS to you for the selflessness. This thread make me to believe so much that if our dear country NIGERIA is a given a chance, LOVE as shown to each other on this thread will solve all the problems the country is facing.
Please Sirs/MAs, I just to want to initiate the process from the scratch (i.e. from Int'l passports and rest) but I will require guidance from you all to put me through as I progress in the process. I have done a bit of research by visiting the CIC and other relevant websites for more information on the process but you guys first hand experience is much better. We shall get our Int'l passports (me and spouse) before the week runs out and that of our 2 kids later (i.e. after our English tests and ECA).
Canreach immigration have called me a couple of times but I believe with you guys here, there is no need for their services and there fees is too way high.
In conclusion, I need answers to the following questions from you guys for a start: 1-should I wait for IELTS result before paying for transcript and ECA, how long is the validity of assessment? Start both immediately, they're not dependent on each other. 2-at what stage do is the kids Int'l passports' numbers are required? When you've received ITA 3-at what stage do we need POF? When you've received ITA 4-the grading system for points as I really don't understand how this is calculated too well. I wish to get points for spouse language and education. You should evaluate your degree and write IELTS to get points for your wife, due to her age, she'll get way higher points than you if she does well in her IELTS 5-Canreach suggested Nova Scotia for PNP, please is the province ok? You don't need a provincial nomination. With good IELTS scores, your wife will get a direct ITA 6-Lastly, for ECA; which option is the best- WES, IQSA and the rest? I will always choose WES to IQAS, even with all WES' wahala. At the end of the day, you weigh the cons and pros of both and make up your mind.

Did you write your IELTS in Lagos on the 25th of May? Have you picked the hard copy of your result? If yes, what is the result number like? Did the result number start with 16 or 17? As in, is it something like 16NG0.....or is it 17NG0..... Your responses will be highly appreciated! MrOba: Hi Guys,
I have been a follower of this thread for few weeks and I have found it very helpful and informative. Big ups to all who are contributing to this platform. My IELTS result just came out LRSW 8.5/7/7/7.5 and I intend to enter the EE pool as soon as possible but a major stumbling block is my ECA. My School (LAUTECH) has been on strike for almost a year now and it doesn't look like the school is going to resume anytime soon. Is there anyone who is in similar situation? I only have my statement of result and from what I have read here, I don't think that will suffice. Is there anyway around this? Your input will be much appreciated.

Thanks. miella: No, higher tenor gives higher interest.
For example, If you invest N100,000 for 364 days at a rate of 18.65%, your interest will be N18,650.00 using the formula (PRT/100)
While for 91 days @ 13. 6% your interest will be N3,390.68
Now if you multiply 3,390.68 * 4 ( remember interest rate is calculated annually) your interest will be N13,562.72 (if you invest four times in a year for 91 days each)
So you can see longer tenor will give higher interest. Now imagine if you invest like N3,000,000.00, the difference will be very high
Also note: if you want to use your treasury bills as POF, it is better to go for longer tenor as this will also help to convince the VO . |
