Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by yimiton(f): 11:30am On Jun 09, 2017 |
Hello guys, I'm not very knowledgeable in these things so, I will appreciate clarification to my question. It would appear to me that it's better to invest a good amount of money for shorter terms and re-invest it at the end of the term. Eg, If I invest 3m for 87 days at 17.3%, and re-invest it for another 87 days at the end of the tenure, won't I be getting a total of 36.4% in less than 185 days as against 17.3% that I'd have gotten if I'd done a straight 185 days? Thanks. It would appear then that it's better to invest a good amount of money for shorter terms and re-invest it at the end of the term. Eg, If I put 3m for 3 months, and re-invest it for another 3 months at the end of the tenure, I'll be getting a total of 27% in 6 months as against 17.2% that I'd have gotten if I'd done a straight 6 months. Please clarify, I'm not very good with all these financial stuff. Kontagious: |

This is so informative. Thanks for taking your time to break it down the way you have. Please I will appreciate your response to the questions below: 1. Is TBill acceptable as PoF? 2. Does fixing it for longer guarantee more interest? 3. Is the interest paid into my account from day one or is it added to the capital? Kontagious: |

It would appear that the visa officers are over-worked and no longer as detailed as they used to be. Someone had this same complaint in another forum that I visited today. The application was cancelled for not submitted the marriage certificate that she had already submitted. You may want to send them a letter of explanation with evidence that the required document as uploaded. Aka2003: |

Na wao, $2000 just to fill forms and $1500 just to submit, abi, did they write IELTS for you? Yet they didn't even give you updated information and didn't recreate your profile before it expired. Sorry about your baby, I know one never really moves on from such tragedy but I hope you've been able to accept it and looking out for the rainbow. Your story is an inspiration. Jalzy29: 2 Likes |

I chose 'standard' and received the hard copy in Lagos about 2 weeks after I received the soft copy. I hear you can use the soft copy for post ITA, so, I don't see any reason why you should choose the more expensive option. petemail2all: |

Hello, My apologies, been a busy period. Per the NOC,I chose NOC 4423 (by-law enforcement and other regulatory officers) I am a regulatory compliance specialist in telco, so, it might be very different from yours. For the CRS tie, it simply means that if 5 people have 422 and the cut off point is 422, meanwhile, CIC wants only 4 people, the order of first come first serve will be deployed. Which means, the guys that entered the pool first will get ITA while the last person will not get. ysmd: |

For people waiting for the profiles to be updated with siblings' point, your profiles will be updated automatically but it might take days. See below extract from CIC website. DEPARTMENT OF CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION Current instructions last amended on June 6, 2017. Notice: Amendments have been made to the Ministerial Instructions for the Express Entry Application Management System and came into force on June 6, 2017. The Ministerial Instructions were modified to: Add Comprehensive Ranking System points for at least one sibling in Canada: 15 points for at least one sibling in Canada who is a permanent resident or Canadian citizen, residing in Canada and 18 or over. Add Comprehensive Ranking System points for good French-language proficiency: 15 points for test results of the Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) at level 7 or higher in all four language skills in French (listening, speaking, reading and writing); and, Another 15 points for test results of the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) at level 5 or higher in all four language skills in English, in addition of test results of NCLC at level 7 or more in all four language skills in French. Add a new approach to rank candidates with the same Comprehensive Ranking System score: The Express Entry system will continue to rank candidates by their CRS score, but where a CRS tie exists, all tied candidates will then be ranked based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profile. For consistency and clarity, the Ministerial Instructions were also modified as follows: Note: All changes are in place since June 6, 2017. Some foreign nationals might not see their Comprehensive Ranking System score change for several days. All scores will be updated before the next round of invitations to apply where the Express Entry system detects that points are changed. There are no new questions to answer in the Express Entry profile. Foreign nationals do not need to update their profile unless they wish to provide new information related to these changes. Applications for permanent residence for foreign nationals invited to apply before June 6, 2017 will be assessed based on the previous Ministerial Instructions. |

WES usually sends transcript back to the issuing institution to verify the authenticity of the transcript. You need to follow up with Uniport to get them to reply. Unilag usually replies by email and it doesn't cost a kobo but it's possible Uniport will rather use courier, in which case you'll have to pay for the courier services. bigbroda: 1 Like |

I just received an LOE from Ontario and wondering whether I should accept it or wait to see if I'll get ITA. My points presently is 405 but that's without my spouse's IELTS. He intends to apply for and write IELTS as soon as he gets his passport, which he's hoping to get next week. He has also started his ECA and it's still pending with WES. With his ECA and IELTS, we should end up with about 430 but we don't know how long it will take to get ECA and we're not even 100% sure that he'll get his passport next week. We fear that points might just keep increasing. We also have siblings in Canada and by June , we'll get the extra 15 points, which will further increase our points. So, my question is: should we accept LOE from Ontario or wait for IELTS and WES and pray that we get ITA subsequently? Seniors in the house, abeg lend your voices oh. |

No, you can't because you will be required to provide the date on your ECA result and your reference number. prospecthomes: |

They would have communicated the time and date by now if they were having a draw today. From all indication, the draw will not hold today. My take is that they're stalling to see if they can get more people with high points so that they don't have to go below a certain point. HTC2017: 3 Likes |

True. You'll hit that mark if you get a job offer from Canada but I hear it's very hard for foreigners in other countries to get confirmed job offers. olugere: |

emmsana: From the information you have provided, it is almost impossible to get up to 450 even if both you and your wife take IELTS and get the maximum possible scores. Nevertheless, the ways you can get your desired points are: Option 1. Get a provincial nomination. Maybe Sasks, Manitoba, Nova Scotia etc. Option 2. Wait will June 6th 2017, both you and your wife ace IELTS, you also write the French language test and pass it well and you have a close family member in Canada. Close family is like parents, siblings. The English and French will give you an extra 30 points and your relation in Canada will give you an additional 15 points. But this will become effective from 6th of June 2017. So, if you can fulfill these options, you'll get even more than your desired scores. 1 Like |

Seriously, why isn't anyone answering my questions? Is it that there are no answers or have I asked questions that have been dealt with? Please I seriously need answers to these questions to avoid misrepresenting or keeping serious information without even knowing it. I have filled and submitted my Expression of Interest and received an acknowledgement email but I'll like to make changes where necessary before it becomes too late. My questions once again: 1. I only assessed my Master's degree and filled only my master's degree. Do I also include my BSC which I didn't assess? 2. I have spent more than the required 3 years in my present job and my previous job has closed up. Do I still include the previous job or just list only my present job? I beg, experienced members, I need your assistance here. |

Guys, please I need some clarification. I have just received my ECA from WES and currently filling my application/profile form. I only assessed my Master's degree. Do I fill only my Master's degree there or do I include my BSC even though I didn't assess it? My spouse' ECA is not out yet, do I leave his pages blank? Your assistance will be highly appreciated. |
