How can a stock list newly and then the shares are not available to the public??
Isn't there a percentage that that company is supposed to make available to the public upon listing?

The only deal on MECURE since market opens was done around now with 102k single crossing in just one deal!

VFD on the other hand, they're deliberately moving it to their accumulation junction.....

There is this thing that sometimes happens with Morgan Capital. I'm not sure if it's them or the NGX.
1. You'd place an offer to sell or bid to buy at a certain price.

2. For all the orders at that same price, yours is the first.

3. However, when some investor buys or sells at that price with a quantity far less than your overall quantity, your order will get filled partially and then your position in the list will be moved down.

4. Wouldn't be a problem if the orders atop are higher or smaller than yours as the case maybe; but it happens even though the rest of the orders on the table are still at the same price.

1. I think it's the trading portal from NGX because Morgan and other houses are connected live to it.

2. The fact that your bid/offer is removed from up to down sometimes doesn't mean your first place has been removed or you've been removed from the first place.......I've also had same thoughts before, observed this overtime and realized it doesn't remove the bid from it's original number.

3. Cross deals are responsible mostly for the bid transactions, only the ones sold directly on the floor can get your bids/offers filled....

Going by the article, there's no more limit to the excess cash that banks can deposit with CBN through the SDF account........and earn interest on it. That's extra money for the banks.

* Lets hope CBN won't come up with another policy or story again once their eyes starts entering the excess cash.

only thing that can explain a FBNH price beyond N20.00 is a bonus. Can’t see them paying N2.00 dividend. And, even if the are to pay a dividend of say N2.00, the information will not be known yet by big money before the end of Q4.However, the need to widen the base may have already been raised about now. But I could be wrong. Probably makes a lot of sense for the big banks and a bellwether of what is to come. I am only speculating.

Even when FBNH paid 0.50k as dividend, the share price was trading ahead of ACCESS/UBA...
The forces behind the rally seems like it's beyond dividends we can see or we are seeing, and don't forget the billionaires are still on it's case......
Anyway, I'm also statiing my personal opinion here.....
Lets be watching what those big guys are up to.

Yes. Even more solid than Transcorp if I could say.
The listing price of 244.88 looks high but in actual fact, it's not high if we considered the OS.

It's just like AIRTEL and MTN. OS is the determining factor in the share price, if not, there wouldnt have been huge difference btw the share prices.

One positive news is what is needed to catapult it to the 300+ region.

If you see the list of stocks you mentioned, then you'll understand the pattern I talked about. Lol.

Did you check VFD's earning release and some investment explanations made as well?
They are of the opinion that things will be much brighter once the investments starts yielding as well.

I remember the terms then but i do not think the assertion holds mostly.
For example

BUA Foods got listed around N40 or so in January 2022
BUA Cement listed for N35 in January 2020
GEREGU is also an example

they have gone ahead to do better in a such a short time without looking back

VFD GROUP is another one I'm watching closely, that it may likely follow this pattern in the long run.

It's coming from the private section to public, the shareholders are still holding unto their shares I think.

There's a minimum requirement of free float (shares available to the public) which they must have met before listing.......in addition to other requirements.

With time, they'll have to release it for public trading on the floor......to accommodate more shareholders.

Same thing is still affecting VFD GROUP as well, it hasn't gone round......just cross dealings among themselves mostly for now.......except for the few shareholders that are bringing theirs out because it fell in price.

Think NGX needs to put some measures in place to ensure adequate quantities for trading as soon as any company is listed

There's a minimum to Cross Deals:
Must not be up to 100M on a single crossing, that's why you'll see something like 99,998,000 or thereabout in single crossing.....

The bid you're are seeing on top of the queue is not filled because most/all of the transactions you're seeing are cross deals......from one customer's account to another one (or to the broker's account).

@mcy and others thanks. The problem was with my chrome browser. I switched to brave browser and it is working perfectly. The thing blinded me through out yesterday and I couldn't follow the day trading

You can also update your Chrome browser, maybe you're using the old version.

Also, try and delete junks, caches, unused folders/files and old history of visited sites to clean and free space on your system/phone.
