@All: Some pple r lucky with their MIL while plenty are not so lucky. take a poll and the response will tell you what i mean. in all honesty i wish to treat her like my mother but she never gave me the chance. How do u expect at this time and age for DIL to come and sweep ur home and wash ur cloth wen she's just settling into marriage life and struggling with her pregnancy ![]() @Mummy3: tnks for ur words, it's comforting to know someone somewhere wears my kind of shoes ![]() |
let's stop going back and forth on dis issue. If you want to help, go ahead. if you cant help, keep it to urself. sometimes our opinions dont count. u giving ur child d best might not mean the same tin to me as giving my child d best (one man's meat will forever be anoda man's poison). |
interesting thread OP: Congrats on ur lil one. May the Lord grant you safe delivery. u owe no one no explanation. in my own case, i actually bought cot but my lil girl never used it. we had to pack it up. I was a lil disappointed thinking of the stress i went thru getting the cot cos i was abt 7mth preg wen i went shopping for it and started bleeding the next morning but God took control. concerning used cloth even grown-up where them. dont be bothered. i got some for my daughter then. i washed well, rinsed with dettol disinfectant, ironed and it was good to go.all the best darling, enjoy ya pregnancy, |
All hail mummy3, great job you are doing, definitely, she'll have plans for the future and you need cool cash as capital to establish any business of your choice. i will all working mums in this situation well and pray God to grant them wisdom in raising godly kids, |
U cld also try some boiled irish potatoes march with butter or u add boiled titus fish, remove all bones & marsh potatoes or very soft yam. U can give beans too ( d watery part). U can break up d noodles while still in d pack completely then boil with fish. Blend ur ewedu with locust bean & add ground crayfish with amala. I recommend amala over eba & co cos it kinda softer. Pls don't try rice yet till abt 9mth in opinion cos they are still learning to swallow. Hope u find dis helpful. Cheers*** |
Wo!!! Sweethrt, don't worry ya self. "Aye la aba". All men are wired d same way & all have d tendency to slip in marriage. For now, i know you are hurt & all that, but d most importance thing right now is u & d baby. You need to get dis issue out of ur mind & focus on d baby delivery. Like someone mentioned "Abo wa ba loro tie". Divorce is not the solution too. It won't solve the problem. It cld be that God is trying to show you some things in d marriage. In Marriage, as women we tend to relax easily & these men, they don't. They think with their "u know wot", so babes, plan to step up ur game as soon as the baby is strong enuf. Take care of ur self & looks, concerning weight, if u've got excess baggages hanging hε̲̣̣̣̥rε̲̣̣̣̥ & there, try to manage d weight well. U cld also try ɑ̈ new look-maybe ɑ̈ new hair cut or hair style etc. Feel good abt urself. Pray that God shld touch his hrt & return his affection back to you & the kids everyday. Do ur bit as ɑ̈ virtuous woman, A̶̲̥̅̊ṁ̭̥̈̅̄ sure with the wisdom from above, He'll show you how to handle the situation & everything will be alright. Wish you ɑ̈ safe delivery darling. Happy sunday & L♥√ع to ur kids. |
I don't think you shld tell them depending on their age you can explain to them that you'll need to cut down on d expenses so as to provide the basics in worse case scenerio. & also always pray abt it so that God can intervene. At some point, we all pass tru financial difficulties in our homes but we can sail tru by setting our priorities right all over again. The Lord will help us all |
I have ɑ̈ girl of 2yrs & all ready she knows d body part, she bath togeda cos i think she's ɑ̈ girl. Is dis also wrong ![]() Her dad doesn't dress in her presence but she's curious & ask question abt d dad's private & even calls it "police" |
@ Poster: I read thru from page 1- 8 and am quite impressed with the advice given by some people. I know you are tired of the whole situation and want out but one thing you must remember that marriage is "for better and for worse" "in sickness and in health" "till death do us part" As individuals, i wont be shocked tat we share deferring opinions on life and how we handles matters. You might be young in age but must have garnered some experience on life. Pls dont leave ya husband ooo. It is only death that shld separate a couple according to the vows that we took when everything was going well. Pls, i think you need to stop seeing divorce as an option. . if you think he is just been lazy then ask God to give you wisdom. Wisdom on how to talk him out of his comfort zone and you need need say it all the time cos it is obvious for us to see. This is your cross though it seems heavy but YOU CAN bear it. Prayers can move mountains and turn situation in your favor. It may take a while but your desired change will manifest as much as you confess and believe that it can be achieved. We are humans and down moment will come but learn to shake it off as soon as possible. God will intervene in this situation. My prayers are with you. |
Congrats babes!!! The journey is long and rough but you can survive. It is an academy that you dont graduate from. You have to stick to it through thick and thin, I wish you the best of marital life, It's a thing of joy and blessing, Enjoy it!!! ![]() |
I think you shld talk to ur MOM, at this point in her life she shld cool down for ur dad. if she can come dis far with him and the marriage, then she ought to have master the act of how to handle him by now. She shld ignore most of his negative words and actions if she still wants to stay with him and if she can no longer cope she shld decide now so they can both live long to eat the fruit of their labor and not cause each other bodily harm. |
I will act like i never heard, wont asked but will sit back and think if it's another pointer that i shld sit right. Considering, they are still living in a rented apartment, the babe shld chill and save for the rainy day, No let all hell loose, waste of energy. conserve it and just wait and see |
i think some posters have said it right and we'll continue to have deferring opinions on what will make a marriage long-lasting. In my opinion, i think it is a lot of work and dedication. Because if not, you might find that things are falling apart even b4 it takes off. I strongly believe in God and prayers cos Prayers can move mountains and turn situations in my favor so that's number one. Tolerance plays a huge role too especially for women, you have to learn to "hold your tongue". Yes, it'll be tough if you are someone that likes to get it all out and say it as it is. I don't mean that you shldnt talk but you have to learn to know when to say it and how best to state it. Two wrongs can never make a right. You have to learn to ignore in some cases negative words and actions. Just assume it wasn't said and deserves no response. Always be at your best- kind word, loving action even when the person doesn't deserve it from you, take time to take care of urself very very very well- from your hair, skin, nails even toe nails and dress sense. Money has a role to play but shldnt determine love and affection in the relationship. You shld love deeply without holding back in good and bad times. In some instances, the bad times could be more than the good times. You need to be courageous and pull urself together cos you will not be the first person in that situation or the last. The solution lies in how you handle the situation and most of the times, the solution is right in the middle of the crisis. And again be careful, who you consult with during ur down moment. First of all, look up to God and ask for the Grace to go on. And if you have taken certain decisions in the past, that made unpleasant things to befall you, then it is time to change from the old ways. All in All, it gets better over time with more work on the relationship. Adjustment on your perception of the other person and your response to situation. I learnt from my experience, you can never get a perfect person but can work on being the perfect person, which will over time influence on the other person. Give as much as U can and dont expect or demand unusually so U don't get disappointed. ![]() |
@Prritty gir: hε̲̣̣̣̥rε̲̣̣̣̥'s wishing you d best of life as you continue in ur search for "your true love" which i don't believe is Serubawon. @Serubawon: i think you been ɑ̈n amazing dad & ɑ̈ wonderful role model. I wish you d best always. I also support considering ɑ̈ single mom who shares your views on life & have some things in common with you. All in all, i leave you in d hands of the Almighty. Do find time to drop by for the update. @Spoilt: glad you had ɑ̈ restful wkd with ur lil man. I know how it is with young babies. To y'all, enjoy d rest of d wk. |

@ Bandie: Tnks for the kind word of encouragement. How often you're tempted to be unfaithful and how often you fall . I refuse to be tempted, Despite all the challenges he's my number one man. How long you think the marriage will last. It's going to last for till we grew grey and till death do us part by God's Grace |
Be lifted high Lord above all circumstances and situation. To you alone be all the Glory Halleluyah!!! |

@Dante.A:thank God for revelationam first of all you & ur madam need to calm down. thank God for revelation. Now dat you have heard & seen ur family's reaction, i believe that u need to move closer to God & pray abt dis serious if u don't want to change ur partner that God shld go ahead & make all crooked way straight & also touch all hrts that are not in agreement to d marriage. & then believe God & give urself & family more time. & sure with all these God will reveal His mind towards ur situation. It is well with u. |
@Divab: congrats & wishing you ɑ̈ safe delivery in Jesus name, @All: indeed d Lord is faithful, we shall have cause rejoice soon with more members of this grp. It is well. Happy Sunday y'all |

Who proposed marriage, and how He did After work one evening and he told me he has some things for me. there was jewelries, wristwatch, mobile phone and there was also the ring. i didnt expect it. i was really happy. It was another first with him |
What attracted you to my husband I really cant say what the attraction was, lolzzz I loved his physique He was a complete gentle man, tall with broad shoulders and he wanted to spend every sec with me. |
How did we meet? Back in 2008, it was a new year, i was determined to enjoy my single status. I was out of my station working with my colleagues and some suppliers. Long story short for a Car launch in the Capital City, after the whole Event, our boss took everyone to dinner to compensate us for a job well done. We all were out till late into the night. one of the supplier walked up to me and we started talking abt what i cant remember now. we got back to the hotel and it continued. next day, we exchanged numbers and returned to base. we started talking on the phone for hours and he wanted a date which i refused. Finally we had a date some weeks after and he asked if i wld marry him. I was in shock because that was the first time anyone wld ask me such. I didnt want to commit myself because i felt it was way too early. He said he meant it and was here to stay forever. i liked that part ( me wey don read "Mills & Boon" tire) and he was a picture perfect of what i want in a man (Tall, handsome and more). We gave it a shot and that was how it all started. |
woooooow!!!! Nice thread. Very educative, enlightening and encouraging. My heart goes out to those that have lost their spouses, my prayer is that God will be with you and continue to be your strength. For those that are tough situations at the moment: @Kimibaby- Pray you find the strength to make good decision and remember it is better to be SAFE than SORRY. @Rosita 112- Infectious diseases are my concern for you, pls address this issues and i pray for God's wisdom for you @Wush- wow is all i can say but know that you are in my prayers. @Lostout- my sister, i believe God can move in your situation cos there is no mountain greater than God. I look to God for you. And for those that have it good and really going on, i thank God for you all and may the fire of love for you and spouses never stop burning. Yes my turn to tell my story. I'll be back ![]() |
deed done, He lied and they are married, end of story, no need asking who is to blame, what's d way forward ![]() getting back to school is not an immediate solution, if he can identify an area of interest that could bring in sometin, fine. my word to the woman, brace up it's not the end of the world, alot of things happen in marriage and you can either stay or leave, my advice STAY, cos it is not so bad, there are woman whose family depend solely on them, you wont be the first, with time, tables might turn and he will appreciate all your efforts and sacrifice to the family, With wisdom and good management, things will look up, i assure you. The Lord will not put you to shame, amen |
@Mogbomoya Weep not, haba, be Strong, Hope u r taking vitamins, It is well |
@Afrobaby, Congrats on ur wedding u r also very correct that one needs to be careful with what you take even some prescribed medications. i know a friend that once lost a 5mth old pregnancy after taking Fansidar anti-malaria which was prescribed by her doctor. I cant explain the connection but it did happen. good tin, she has a baby today. ensure you take ur vitamins and also continually ask God, He is able to do exceedingly above all that we can ever hope or ask for, we only need to ask. |
@Mattybaby I think it is possible for some woman to feel like you are expecting (preg.) almost every month simply because the early signs of pregnancy and AF. Anxiety also plays a part as well. if Sarah the wife of Abraham in d Bible could conceive despite her old age, the same God is on the throne. Let's pray and thank God in advance for answered prayers. For the ones amongst us that have conceived do not stop there, pray for other that are still trusting the Lord. I know the Lord will never let us down, amen |
