This statement from PMB is an insult to over 180 million Nigerians. Are we fools or something?...

The outcome of the election is 50/50.

Buhari's bane is the economic situation of the country in addition to the high level of insecurity. Perceived double standard in the fight against corruption and looking the other way as regards the herdsmen are also other issues that might be termed his albatrosses.

Atiku's is solely corruption but his promise to revive the economy and improve the security situation are two strong points for him.

A hungry person prioritizes his belly, explaining the long-term benefits of the fight against corruption does not make sense to him, all he wants is immediate satisfaction, that perspective is what most Nigerians would bring to the table.

For me, Integrity comes first anyday, anytime and I'm not saying this to support Buhari but then, we all got our various opinions.

Few people understand what make believe really means. Its possible to smile with someone on set and even romance them wheras you are not a friend but you have to act that way due to work demand. The paparazzi keeps both wizkid and Tiwa savage the talk of the town and its part of publicity but many viewers fails to realize that. Lastly, I have worn both caps as well. I left a high paying job (by any standard), when I left, my friends and family were unaware for over a year, only my ex-colleagues knew about my exit. I had no explanation for them for my leaving because they would say "something is definitely wrong in your head" and truly, they would have been right, I had no excuse to leave but you see, that unscrewed knot in my head is the desire to pursue my dreams, if it was about the money, I wouldn't have left but my leaving was hatched in a plan of over a decade, it wasn't sudden or unintentional. Destiny called and simply answered.

Well said but even in career, climbing to the top of the corporate ladder can be equally hard, (you see people who have been on the same grade level for years without a promotion), sometimes you also need to 'compromise', whether it's sleeping with your boss(es), throwing a colleague under the bus, currying favours, ass-licking, or outrightly going fetish.

To rise to the top in life is not an easy ride either as a career person or an entrepreneur, most important thing is to ensure you get to the zenith of your chosen endeavor against all odds with a sense of fulfilment (actualization) which tops Maslow's hierarchy of needs.

Let us even limit it to Nigeria. 1.5M per month is 18M a year. Is that the kind of money you want to make? Let's even say you earn 4M per month, that's 48M a year, is that money?

Who are the highest paid salary earners in Nigeria? (Not the business owners themselves, I'm talking employee Managers here), most def MDs of Banks, Oil & Gas coys and Telcos? How much do they earn per month? Again, let's assume they make 20M per month (which I doubt, with the exception of a handful), that's 240M, is that money? Not the kind I aspire to make.

Can you become a billionaire as a salary earner in Nigeria? (Like you mentioned in another post "without compromising"

Truth is not everyone is cut out to be an entrepreneur, some don't even want to be one, it doesn't interest them. A lot of people are high flyers in the corporate world earning large sums as salaries and bonuses which makes them rich, comfortable and happy.

The truth however remains that to be stupendously wealthy and leave a lasting legacy for your lineage, you have to be an entrepreneur. Without a need to check and confirm, I can categorically tell you that 90% of the top 200 richest people in the world are entrepreneurs.

We can have this discussion going for months but in conclusion, it's ok to be a salary earner but being an entrepreneur provides more opportunities, wealth and fulfilment for any individual. Like the other poster mentioned, look around your area and tell yourself how many of the houses are owned by salary earners, maybe 5-10%. You can start out as a salary earner with a plan to transition to entrepreneurship which is ok as well.

Food for thought: If someone pays you N1.5M per month, you will 'kill yourself' if you knew how much the business owner truly makes for himself (or themselves)

On my way to work this morning I was wondering how many entrepreneurs can make a net income of 1.5m monthly. I know many people who earn that. And they are not even in top management.

The day I saw the MD/CEO of a very popular IT company desperately eye the job of a Microsoft employee in Nigeria, reality began to set in.

It is well.

Bentley, Porsche, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini and the likes, which category of people can afford them? Salary earners? Except of course you are an Exec with stock options and many other benefits in a 'Fortune 500' coy.
