Ode the VAT is it your kinsmen that contributed to it, check this below tell me what Yorubas contributing, I just pray this country will divide for you guys to see how empty you are, you don't even have gas to power your region, everyday you guys rant over the tax revenue because they use Lagos as headquarter but you guys are so dumb to know gas that power those three power plants in Yoruba land doesn't come from your region, I just pray quick desolation of this country then you will know the real meaning of barren grin

If not the companis own by others, tel me what Yoruba contributing? These are top firms that contribute to Nigeria tax revenue, mind you GTBANK is UK firm

Shut up. SE are the poverty capital of the south.

Do you want to tell me those banks are not in other region? Is UBA only domiciled in the SW? Why are they not generating the same source of revenue from the SE?

SE is a barren land that can’t generate nada.

Yoruba have the ability of attracting foreign investments, of Nigeria break up, it will only give other foreign players the ability to come and invest in the Yoruba region and that will complement our local investors.

Barren SE can’t get any patronage coz even your own people are running away from your land like it’s a war torn area.

How fraudulently talented Nigerians are in twisting information is spectacular!

if you didn't know how VAT works, you would think these states volunteered their IGR to share with the rest of the country.

In reality, they were only points of entry as seaports or International airports of the federal government. Whereby most of the cleared goods are transported for use in other parts of the country where consumers actually pay the real cost for the good!

Are Kano and Kaduna also the seaport and international airport entries?

SE are parasites that contribute virtually nothing to the National purse. Oil nothing (just few cups in Imo and Abia), Agricuture (Nothing spectacular), economy (Nothing), nothing nothing.

Most of the SE folks doing well are domiciled in other regions. SE contributes nothing nothing!

Majority of the Igbos\other tribes are living there and they pay their taxes there as well

That’s not my question.

The question is what does the SE region contribute to the National purse?

I think SE are the real parasite in Nigeria and not the North. They contribute nothing which explained why they always link themselves to the SS every time.

Stop spewing ignorance..VAT is an end user tax and is actually borne by the last user or consumer of a vatable product or service , so trying to attribute VAT collected at entry point doesnt make sense , for example Lagos being the primary entry point of most goods into Nigeria will erroneously claim to contribute the highest tax but while in reality people in yobe ,zamfara or abakiliki who end up being the last user of an import actually bore part of the VAT charge ..

Although this news is 2017 so it’s old but I have an observation.

What exactly are the Igbos contributing to the National purse? Na then Dey first abuse the Northerners as leeches but yet Kano is contributing more VAT than any SE state.

Agriculture Export too also showed that the SW and the North are the largest earners for foreign trade for Nigeria. Sesame seed and cocoa are the two largest cash crops Nigeria export.

The SS majorly contribute the oil money for all the zones. Infact Ondo produce more oil than Imo and Abia combined. So don’t even mention Oil that can’t fill a cup as their contribution.

What exactly is the contribution of those 5 SE states to the National purse.

My take from the video is the last sentence of the Oyo state speaker.

He said:
“As you can see we have more vehicles, and we are even gonna purchase more vehicles in order to support them and to give them all the things that they need to support the life and properties of the Oduduwa people”

That is a strong message there. Emphasis on that Oduduwa people.

Hello people in the house. I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask this kind of question.

Can someone get a Uber trip from the Lagos Muritala airport if the flight land in Nigeria by let’s say 3:00am in the morning?

I read something online that the airport authorities barred Uber drivers from the airport so I’m confused about that.

actually i have seen she's yoruba buh all the same Giwa is edo name andnot Yoruba name. Only Owo people bear the name and i guess it's because of the influence of the then bini empire.
Example is Dele Giwa and lot more.

Giwa is a Yoruba name. I have numerous people bearing that surname that are not even from Owo or Benin.

You should understand the Yoruba and Benin share some connections and you cannot even use a name as a determinant for a tribe by saying Benin owns that name. What if the Benin borrowed that name from Yorubas?

You should know the Yorubas empire preceded that of the Benin people and it can be argued that the Benins are an offshoot of the Yorubas.

Go on Facebook and search people with Giwa as surname and you will see we have lot of them scattered around Yoruba lands.

Yemo Osinbajo, a presidential material.

However, having a good heart is not the only prerequisite to rule a nation like Nigeria, you need to be ruthless in dealing with some politicians and make sure you have people loyal to you to a fault.

Jonathan will be in a better position to tell him why good heart alone is not enough

NYSC / Re: MURIC To NYSC: Review Camp Training Now by YorubaHero12: 7:35pm On Nov 14, 2019
Endowed595:
Its like some people are mad. If you can't see the sense in what they said, am sorry for you. I am a strong anti MURIC and muslims person in general but this is one of the most sensible things i have seen in recent years. What exactly does the NYSC bring to Nigeria, money that could be used to build better hostels at the Federal Universities or pay salaries of teachers is being allocated for a scheme to give youths a last opportunity to engage in meaningless sex and frivolities. The scheme was created by a military regime and that comes with a military mindset, how many youths get to use the military training after the scheme. The scheme should be scrapped completely. That money could be better allocated to better the hostels at the various federal Universities or build industries to create jobs for said Nigerian graduates. Nigeria is a joke, some people commenting rubbish here need their heads examined

This thread makes me feel sorry for Nigeria. We are chruning out people with a defromed mindset and everyone always think they are literate just because they how to read and write.

MURIC gave a very detailed explanation of why NYSC camping activities is wrong. I have always wondered also why we need to take drills, March like a zombie everyday, Climb rope, etc. Please what is the usefulness of that activities in the camp when most people will never be in any paramilitary organization forever. It is not even a health exercise coz people collapse and some even die from the stress.

The soldiers in camp oppress corpers anyhow and give rubbish drills that do not contribute anything to the national development.

MURIC state the way forward and also said that 3weeks can be used for something importatnt like re-orientating youths, anti-corruption crusades, giving youth hope so as to remain patriotic to Nigeria coz most people are already tired of this country.

Nairaland is fast turning to a forum of people without critical sense, they don't contribute anything meaningful, everyone from page 1 to this page are saying rubbish except you and few other people.

Walahi, I just see the reason why Nigeria will find it hard to excel coz the bulk part of the population (Youth) are actually daft.

Osinbajo has always been like that. He has even improved from his 2015 stature.
