That cannot be true. Although Igbos form the majority of Nigeria's Christian population, Igbos don't make up 80% of RCCG members, especially as RCCG is very conservative. Igbos might form a significant number of Winners Chapel members as it's more liberal than RCCG, but certainly not more than Yorubas. You forget that these churches are formed by Yoruba men and have more branches in the SW than elsewhere.

People are overlooking one aspect: states dominated by Christians are advancing in education over states dominated by Muslims. This tells one thing: Christianity promotes free thinking, pursuit of excellence and pragmatism. Any region whose Muslim population continues to rise is at the risk of falling behind in educational pursuit.

You can accuse Christianity or Christians of anything, but one thing is clear; it's the major religion in the world that promotes prosperity, free enterprise, pragmatism, right to choose, right to inquiry, right to criticise, rule of law etc. Non-Christian regions who are prosperous or innovative, such as India, Japan, China and Korea (has the highest percentage of Christians in East Asia) adopted Christian values, especially the Western version.

In summary, if you want your region to be prosperous, adopt Christianity or Christian values. If you want to be poor and belligerent, you know what to do.

Sorry, but the north WILL never top any list or ranking that has to do with western education or civilisation. The north is ingrained in Islamic studies, not western education. Even if the north graces top five or ten, it would be dominated by Northern Christians.

This is what many haven't realised. When I saw Akwa Ibom on the list of states who got admitted to study Medicine even before other South West states, I sensed religion is the reason. As the South West gets more islamised, expect educational attainment to plummet.

This is entirely untrue. Nigerian women and even across West Africa are more conservative than Southern African women. Southern Africans are more sexually liberal than other parts of sub-Saharan Africa.

Considering the effect of the civil war, Igbos have done well. The culture is enterprising and pragmatic.

Knight Frank, Savills and numerous reputable real estate firms exist. These places are used to international buyers, their governments are keen on attracting foreign investors, they depend on tourism (countries with high dependency on tourism are have okayish public sector efficency) etc. For an Igbo man, better Ghana than Lagos or Cape Verde. After the previous elections, I don't get the do-or-die or I-Must-Invest-in-Lagos-Real-Estate-Industry mentality. Okay to rent, but not okay to invest in. There were posts by other Nairalanders of the bureaucracy involved in getting Lagos state governor's assent for residential properties, especially if one is non-Yoruba.

I am no longer interested in investing in property in Nigeria. I am now looking at South Africa 🇿🇦 along with a few other partners. Things seem properly done there. My team and I are touring with similar property buyers from America, mainly African Americans soon. Better prospects in my opinion.

This is the thing that befuddles me - well-to-do Nigerians, especially those who aren't Yorubas dying to invest in Lekki or Lagos real estate industry, whereas there are equally other good locations to invest in across the continent and even beyond. Why Lekki-Ajah axis instead of Barbados or Bahamas? Must it be Ikeja when Cape Verde dey? If they don't build in Lekki, but in Accra, would they die?
