Rasheed has done well for himself. I liken his company Saroafrica to Syngenta.

The men who married such women are to be blamed. Any woman who says that phrase - men are scum - should be avoided by sane men. Too bad Nigerian men are weaklings!

Those universities should shut down! It's the free market - companies/organisations that cannot withstand change should be allowed to close. Most of those universities were polytechnics previous governments changed their statuses to universities.

If a university cannot thrive even when foreign students enrolment has plummeted, it should close. Bankruptcy/insolvency is part of business. I doubt the likes of Imperial College, University of Exeter, Durham University, Leeds University, London School of Economics, Oxbridge, UCL, Queen Mary's University etc, are complaining. Alternatively, the affected universities should be merged with other struggling universities.

Trust me, any white man that has guts to contest election in Nigeria will win. Some of us are tired of our home grown politicians that have wrecked havoc on the country. If a well-informed white man, seeks an elective position, I will be more inclined to vote for him than vote a typical Nigerian politicians.
Story. If so, how come your fellow blacks are against a politician solely because of the region he comes from?

The power of working together

The biggest challenge we have here as Nigerians is that somehow we can't work together, due to our stupidity as a people

I lived in Hare hills for a while, and whomever is familiar with that side will know that they (Pakistani especially) have am entire Ecosystem there that has

After 50 plus years of moving here; I'll say that as a people; we have not done enough in doing same, instead we are shift hustlers.
I'm surprised by the bold. Does it apply to Yorubas too, considering they constitute the majority of Nigerians in the UK?

The problem with a lot of our people here is mental laziness

That can keep you going in a country like mediocre Nigeria , but in the west, if you no use your head; you will have yourself to blame.

Moving with Indian blokes (some born here; others from India) has really opened my eyes to a lot of things

We have a lot to learn honestly
Some of which are? It's important our people know these things too.

Many Nigerians have really abused the care worker scheme in the UK. Some are charging up to £10k to sponsor their fellow Nigerians and then they don’t have work for them or give them 10 hours a week, meanwhile the poor person is unable to legally work for another organization because they are tied by work permit.

And they have sold property, borrowed money etc. to fund this. By the time they pay £10k for certificate of sponsorship, pay for visa fees and NHS fees they are probably spending over £20k to end up with a shitty job with shitty wages or worse not even enough hours to pay basic bills.

On top of all that the pay for care workers is rubbish especially when you consider the work involved.

I know many Nigerians who went to UK on student visa for masters, MBA etc. who can only get care work after graduation because most companies are not willing to sponsor for work visa and there is a shortage of care workers.
There is going to be a generation of underachievers and demoralised immigrants in the future.

Not outright purchase. Rent for 10 years.
It’s a village in Igboora.
It’s the usual practice over there. They prefer to bring in laborers from there as they’d be fully focused on the farm without distractions as that’s what is bringing them to Nigeria.

I’m visiting my farm on Saturday, I’ll start a thread on the progress.
OK. Thank you. Apologies as I modified my post. The question is how do these Francophone Africans fight off Fulani herdsmen if encountered?

If all these farming was that lucrative and straightforward, you got to ask yourself while many more people are not into it
Farming is only profitable once there is associated processing. No processing, no profits. The alternative is to be an export trader. To make money in cassava, processing is mandatory. Also understand that agriculture is a long term stuff, rather than short term.

Omo 600k for cultivating 3acres round the year? na now i see why Nigerian politicians and elites are shouting that the young Nigerians should embrace argriculture while they send their own children to study IT, medicine, Business, Finance, Engineering
The money in agriculture is in processing. Alternatively, become an exporter and earn dollars. But to make it in aspect of agriculture as a player, aka farmer, processing is extremely important. Once in the farming aspect, to make money, process it. Better being an export trader man than a farmer without processing facilities.

I just started mine, too.
I’ve acquired 20 acres for 10 years at #400k
But my intention is to use the money I earmarked to it to the full extent it will go on the land.

I want to make sure it enters 10 acres and I can expand later when I get more money.
The labor will cost money. The guy I brought from Togo is asking for a brand new Bajaj motorcycle after a year.
But he will be the one taking care of the farm while I provide food and shelter close to the farm. That has been sorted.

My plan is to process it to garri, elubo, lafu, pupuru and even fufu.
I .
Congratulations sir. I'm genuinely curious, which state did you purchase that size of land at such cheap prices? Why are Francophone West Africans employed to manage farms in Nigeria? Also, how are they recruited? If these Francophone Africans encounter Fulani herdsmen, how do they cope?

Though I'm really baffled how some people still feel comfortable using tissue to wipe themselves. Even when they're bathing, they don't even bother to use water to wipe their ass when they're bathing, it really is a wonder.

The very reason why I'm never taken by a girl's beauty, never. They same reason I don't take any girl who have hair under her armpit serious. For me, that's the first red flag and the surest sign to body odour, hairy armpits.

One have to be clean both inside, and outside. Personal hygiene matters.
With the rate at which men complain of vaginismus in women and now, this sheet episode, I'm increasingly wary of sex, especially casual types. Na this kind thing dey make person dey faithful even when man doesn't plan to.

Konquest:
@CasualObserver,
What you posted is FALSE. Folorunso Alakija was NEVER a hair dresser. I see a lot of younger ones pushing this same false story and mangling history up. Let me explain more here to you and those reading this.

She trained in the UK as a professional secretary, returned to Nigeria from England and worked as a banker at IMB Plaza on Victoria Island, Lagos. She later resigned to take care of her small kids in the early 1980s and proceeded to establish the very famous company Supreme Stitches in Lagos State which was a top fashion design outfit for ready-to-wear clothes and many prominent folks in the society such as Mariam Babangida where her friends. These are facts that I personally witnessed in the 1980s through to the 1990s.

She comes from the wealthy Ogbara family who are indigenes of Ikorodu, Lagos State. Ikorodu is one of the 3 Ijebu LGAs in Lagos State and as you might know the Ijebus are one of the wealthiest subgroups among the Yoruba folks and in Nigeria. Her millionaire father even sent Folorunso Alakija and her siblings to school in the UK when she was not even up to 10 years old! So, she took a major risk by bidding for the deep offshore oil well in 1991 with her family members from the Ogbara family and her foreign technical partners and finally found oil in the highly risky deep offshore using FAMFA Oil as a vehicle.

I wrote about this fact just this year when some ethnic bigots and ignorant young ones here on NL (who were obviously NOT born in the 1980s and 1990s) defamatorily wrote that she slept her way with IBB or Abacha to get an oil well which to me is idiotic of these kids and an insult to those of us who knew Mrs. Folorunso Alakija right from the 1980s as a banker, oil mogul, ànd when she started the hugely famous Supreme Stitches which was the first in Nigeria to defined bespoke fashion designing and ready to wear for women. This is the reason why she is also the patron of Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN).

I hope this helps.
Interesting...

I'm curious, why aren't these histories well documented so that they are easily retrievable for future references? It's bad that to refute mendacious and to an extent defamatory claims by others, we rely on personal anecdotes.

But he's right na. The US and to an extent Canada largely because of its proximity to the US has more economic opportunities than the UK. It's unarguable and undisputed.

The US is the numero-uno in economic opportunities.

Even those students who change to care visas, they are saying their dependents ( spouse and kids) should go back to their countries because the new care visa does not cover their dependents . Not just the new arrivals. They want to start deporting people who legally entered last year as dependents. Those are the 120,000 he is talking about. If the dependents want to stay, they should also go and look for sponsorship.
You're right o. They aren't just targeting the ones in the system (care workers), but those who moved with their families on student visas. Then, in return, they increased the minimum salary required to employ foreign students, but didn't apply the same rule to care workers. Now, they've banned care workers from having their families with them. In essence, they have trapped people inside and the only way out is to leave the country.

Oyibo oooo shocked shocked shocked

This is a question I was asking myself last week. Why is it that Nigerians in USA and Canada seems to be doing better and buying properties in Nigeria compared to Nigerians in the UK.

I have sold Tens of New Houses to Nigerians in Diaspora within the past few years, 80% of Diaspora sales are majorly from Nigerians in USA followed by those in Canada. If the opportunities in UK are limited then why are our people moving to UK in droves.?
Because it's the easiest country amongst the trio to relocate to. Some people eventually relocate to the US from the UK, as rightfully stated, the UK has limited economic opportunities.

Has nothing to do with Nigerians.

Many European countries don't want the far right ruling them. And one of the things the far right uses for campaign is immigration.

Even in the UK, and many times it isn't against blacks. Even other Europeans are not welcome lol ( some far righters would even prefer a black English speaking immigrant to a white European who can't speak English).

Nigerians aren't even the largest contributor to immigration to the UK sekf
While that is true, we constitute the largest proportion of students who bring dependants alongside to the UK.

On the other hand, I'm curious how some far right Brits prefer blacks simply because they speak English over other white people who don't or can't speak English.
