SniperInADiaper: IndeedThat is exactly why your skills are so necessary in the force, a true sniper, seeing between details. The 5 naira union leader issued the following statement: "My fellow notes, do not let your faces collapse in shame when they despise you, when they go after notes with more zeroes appended to them, But, raise your faces and band together, for together we are strong, together we can achieve great things". |
An0nimus: How much change Sir?Haba, An0nimus! Haven't you seen those one naira coins, very beautiful. I use those coins, thank you very much! Although people at shoprite don't like me, I don't blame em though, it can be quite annoying counting out 50 coins to pay for my gala, but what am I supposed to do? |
@OP, I do not understand this your question. Everytime I spend my 5 naira, I am expecting change. |

Policewoman: Kini big deal? Afterall they give worse punishments in the academy. With all due respect ma'am, this ain't the Police Academy. |
josite: let us be fair to covenant university. You cannot be faulted with your logic, but truth be told, it will come back to bite them at the end of the day, trust me. It's just like an arrogant service provider that tries to cheat their customers, because they know they are the best in town, and if their customers don't like it, they can go to another provider. One day, a provider will emerge with just the same, or even better service, and guess what, they won't try to swindle their customers. Obviously this provider would thrive, being rewarded for their insight and competitive advantage. So at present, you can say "at least people graduate from Covenant on time", but I tell you this, in the future when the FG shapes up, when more private universities spring up that value the independence of adults, universities like Covenant would surely see a drastic reduction in students seeking admission, unless they adapt. That my friend, is a FACT! |
bamto: Which bible says 'spare the rod and spoil the child?' You can't find that in the holy scripture."Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them" Proverbs 13:24. Although they've taken this way too far, as you can clearly see. |
P.Stacks:I can't believe those are the only options available to the Nigerian students en masse, damn! "Stuck between the Devil and the deep blue sea", or maybe a small river, as is the case with Covenant. |
The only thing left is for the University to start serving B.reast Milk during Lunch, nonsense! So I ask them this, what if the student was a 40 or 50 year old? I have heard of older people who go back to school to get an education, some are not successful and need it, while others are already successful and just want the degree. So I ask them, would they punish such students? Nigerian attitude it seems has even permeated the University walls, somewhere that intellects should be high, and ignorance low. That is how some people will justify a soldier telling a civilian to frog jump, like they can't find another suitable, non physical punishment, like detainment. Police officers too slap citizens anyhow on a daily basis, and nothing happens, its a Nigerian thing. |
What happened to Walkmans? What happened to floppy disks? What happened to timberland boots? What happened to eight tracks? What happened to cassettes and cassette players? What happened to Dialup? What happened to Cammo? What happened.... Same thing happened, evolution baby, and blackberry just didn't evolve quickly enough! |
Ikpediarukevwe: No commercial without this one is a crap.Lol, that one wasn't bad either. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrdKr-p3fWc Basically she is saying: You are undressing me with your eyes, Poor you, You wish you could take me home with you, and make me yours forever. |
Animals running amok, animals in human skin, animals that failed to evolve, stuck in the evolutionary gap between Ape and Man. These animals should be locked up, and checked for flees, freaking homo |
Sincere 9gerian: Here they go again comparing a country with one-off attack and that under perennial attacks. Does the president of Iraq or Pakistan issue statements after every terrorist attack? I used those unfortunate examples because we must compare like with like. If the leaders of countries under perennial terrorist attacks start making national speeches every time there's a terrorist attack, then it means the whole country will grind to a halt. The president of Nigeria is not only the president of Borno and Yobe. He is also the president of Enugu, Lagos, Katsina, etc. Notwithstanding terrorist attacks in a few states, he must provide jobs for the teeming unemployed in relatively peaceful states, power, build roads, etc. He has also responded to the troubled states by deploying troops. I wonder what else would be done in this circumstance. But certainly the father of 36 children cannot because of 3 troublesome children abandon the rest of his kids or be striped of his fatherhood.True, the president can't be making speeches after every attack, it will actually become mundane. However, as the CIC, hearing stories like these should make him boil, causing him to step up and demand that his generals do the same. I am just saying this because we both know that simple radio communication, as a previous poster stated, would have been enough to request for back up, and for the military, there should ALWAYS be backup in your own country (it's not like they are stranded behind enemy lines in a foreign country, we control the airspace). |
solomon111: How is serving your country stupid? Are you really advocating the NYSC scheme in Nigeria? So you are okay with Engineers and Doctors that should be acquiring relevant knowledge in their respective fields, spending 1 year of their lives teaching in villages? Not to mention that teaching is a profession that they were never certified for. Do you think that's how top schools across the globe just pick teachers willy nilly, to impact knowledge on students? What a joke of a scheme. Israel is an exception because it is a country under constant threat. They even go as far as having "Iron Domes" to repel Pakistani missiles. Lastly don't get it twisted, military training in Isreal, Uk, U.S.A, all involve the exposure to high tech machinery and scientific methods. In short, nothing to be compared to the training of "teaching in a village". |
ruffneck: My guy u no sabi the diff btw Wish and Compulsion again?Lol, here's my post: "However it still remains a "mandatory requirement" for skilled employment in most of the private sector and the entire public sector." I said it is required for most of the skilled employment within the private sector, not all. The likes of shell and Mobil would ask for NYSC. I also said it is required for the entire public sector. I don't think you can get any skilled government jobs without the NYSC. So you see, your example had already been covered by my previous post and you're not telling me anything new. Btw, does that mean that he will never get to work for the likes of shell, even if he is technically qualified, just because of some steeewpid scheme? |
ruffneck: Read d. Very first paragraph of d link below:First paragraph: "NYSC Registration Requirements For Foreign-trained Graduates The following are the requirements for registration of foreign- trained Nigerian graduates wishing to participate in National Youth Service Corps:" They used the word "wishing" because at the end of the day, no one has to do the NYSC, there's really no gun to anyone's head. However it still remains a "mandatory requirement" for skilled employment in most of the private sector and the entire public sector. |
ruffneck: It is not compulsory for foreign trained nigerian gradutes to do NYSC to get a job in nigeria.it is highly optional. On the contrary, foreign train students still have to enroll for the NYSC. The NYSC scheme is so 2000 B.C. |
ruffneck: What point are u tryin make sef?Yes, it is quite difficult for me to understand why a university graduate would be ineligible for the already steeewpid scheme. So what is he supposed to do now, become a laborer? So all the years of college would be in vain? These guys should free our graduates. In every scheme, wether good or bad, some people would benefit. So of course some few people would say they found work with NYSC (like if they scrapped it, people won't find work), they met their spouses there (as if NYSC is the only place to meet a spouse), they taught students well (as if they are professional teachers or should be teaching in the first place) and so on. They should scrap this scheme so that the majority of graduates can benefit from this country. |
ruffneck: Oh really?d law isn't working?NYSC is not meant for everybody? The nerve of this dude! So it's not enough that the steeewpid policy is a requirement to find a job, but only a select people get to be enrolled in the program? Wow, talk about double filtration. Wow I guess success stories that involve trials and tribulations would be foreign to you, since in your opinion, to get a job in Nigeria you have to start being smart right from the womb, nonsense! |
The NYSC scheme should be burnt in the deepest darkest part of hell. To all the smart Nigerians on this thread I salute you. What a country we live in, what kind of policy is this, that can't even encourage human growth. In my university days, I spent my freshman year being a C student, but then I got inspired and ended up graduating second in my class. So you see humans are capable of change. They might as well ask for his primary school cert while they are at it. I wave my middle finger to the NYSC, backward a*s*s policy. |
