RomanceRe: A Special Message For Unmarried Women by YoshiMaster: 2:07pm On Oct 07, 2013
lekpalicious: It seems a lot of men have misunderstood this topic. Its not about preference as every one has a different preference and what works for one will not work for the other. This topic is about unmarried women being so desperate that they settle for someone(who they would not normally have) just for the sake of getting married. When a woman is very desperate, a man can see that and will treat her anyhow as he knows she wont go anywhere. Whether it be cheating, abuse etc. What op is trying to say is women should avoid this. Its not then end of the world if you are not married. Your friends may have gotten married at 23, perhaps your time is 30. This is not about being too picky and refusing good guys. This is about not just settling with a bad guy because of desperation.
Good points, I never saw were the OP made points about women being too choosy.

I mean what gal would wanna be with an abusive guy?

Just the same way us guys shouldn't be desperate and end up with the wrong type females.

Being choosy, is not being able to make your mind up when you have many 'suitable' options.

nkenu: This is no laughing matter, because this can cause an accident which will end ones life on planet earth. I have a very similar experience this morning when i was travelling alone with my car from Jos to Bauchi at a speed of 160km, a very big monitor lizard just appeared from my dash board towards my trousers, i almost had an accident and as i am writing this the idiot is still somewhere hidden in my car. I used insecticide to spray in my car to no avail. Pls who have an idiea of what i should do? Your suggestion will go a very long way in serving a life pls.
On a more serious note though, you need to use the insecticide directly on them, and not just in the air around them.

Spraying it directly would paralyze its nervous system, allowing you to dispose of it.

Here's what you do, pull over and buy some food for yourself and the lizard, Haba! Did you stop to ask yourself if the lizard has eaten today?

Don't be selfish.

What do you mean by mannerless?

Abeg my guy, don't start rubbishing lizard on this thread o.

Don't you see the way lizards always bow their heads in show of respect?

Every time I see one, they bow their heads in acknowledgement of my presence, so please don't call them mannerless.

@Op, do you have a dog? Does your dog use the bathroom in your house? I'm guessing no.

When you watch Nat Geo or Discovery channel, do you complain when animals poo and urinate in the Jungle?

If you do not complain then, why complain here, when most have refered to Nigeria as a Jungle.

Animals in any jungle act based on instinct.

My final take is that there is also a sense of pride students will have when they get the right infrastructure, that inculcates civility in them.

By infrastructure, I mean "standard" infrastructure.

That means:

-Shower Running, so no need for fetching water.
-Toilets flushing, so no need for fetching water.
-Adequate waste disposal
-Enclosed sinks, as in sinks with casings, not sinks where you actually get to see the plumbing.
-Usage control, so to speak, there should be bathrooms on every floor of a hostel, so that there is not overcrowding of one specific facility.

These things should also be consistent, for instance there shouldn't be a two week stretch were the toilets are not flushing, or water isn't running.

If students are given a bathroom like the one in the pic I posted above, and cleaners are hired on the cheap to clean daily, and maintenance is carried out periodically, I just don't see how it will collapse to the point of looking like the one posted by the OP.

Google, that's the typical form of school bathrooms I have seen in other developed countries.
EducationRe: LUTH Medical School Female Hostel Idi Araba, Lagos (Pictures) by YoshiMaster: 4:06pm On Oct 04, 2013
I know the students might deserve some blame, but common guys, the institution deserves the most blame.

In some countries, they even have workers that clean all toilets in schools.

Now even if the girls mismanage a toilet for say, one semester, there is no way one semester can cause such havoc.

During the break, isn't school management suppose to at least "detail" the bathroom again, and if need be, students can even be charged.

This is mediocrity of an institution, and can't really be defended.

What about inspections, even weekly inspections.

Even as a Parent, there is not way you would let your Childs bathroom reach this state before you interfere.

So please, lets not appropriate the majority of the blame to the students, you can even see buckets everywhere, so we don't even know the infrastructure level of the facility.

In some secondary schools in Nigeria, they simply allocate an open space for students to bath, isn't that just wickedness? So tell me how the such students in that case will manage an "open space" bathroom?

Chuzzyrules: 10mbps...... thats nice enough.may consider it.
whats the price like?
Not sure, the guys that are setup at palms mall said they would start selling today, going there during my lunch break to find out the price.

Up till now, they just put a tester for people. So I used speedtest.net for the tests, it was really impressive. I can finally beat all them gamers in Japan with a crisp, lag free, network.

Sunymoore: Didn't he said fiber? Did wired telephone in Nigeria starts at a higher price?
That's my bad, re-read it, he did say fibre.

All the more reason why we shouldn't expect cheap uncapped plans from current wireless technology in Nigeria, i.e, 3G, 4G.

With regards to price, it's a well known fact that service providers strive to recoup capital investment first before reduction of price follows. Further reduction of prices is also facilitated by adequate competition.

A company in Abuja is presently laying fibre in select communities, and I got a chance to look at their "cost recovery plan", the first few years are aimed at recouping massive costs for laying fibre.

Btw, I just tested swifts wireless 4G LTE, and got a result of 10mbps, I'm about to jump on that.
PhonesRe: An Open Letter To Nigerian Internet Service Providers by YoshiMaster: 11:31am On Oct 02, 2013
iyobs7: Until unlimited power supply is guaranteed in Nigeria, we should forget about the cost of internet going down. I am studying in India with a population of more than 1.2billion people and they have uninterrupted power supply. I am using fiber broadband internet of 15mbps with Fair usage policy of 50GB after that the speed drops to 4mbps unlimited and I pay just 1100 rupees per month which is not even up to 3000 naira. Let the government fix electricity issue then you can talk or you want them to burn fuel or diesel then layer give u cheap internet?
I find this quite hard to believe, but if its true, then obviously you may have failed to elaborate on some things.

For instance I'm sure that is a wired connection, not wireless like most cell carriers here.

Secondly I'm sure they started with higher prices first to recoup investments of laying cables.

With that said though, that has to be the cheapest price for Internet in the world.
PhonesRe: An Open Letter To Nigerian Internet Service Providers by YoshiMaster: 11:19am On Oct 02, 2013
@OP, you can't expect to get uncapped, fast Internet for N2,000.

If it was your business, would you do that? You would lose all your money just to please ppl.

I think a price of about 7-15 would be ideal for uncapped Internet, depending on the speed.

mr_king: Honestly! I think Nigerians are †ђξ most difficult people to deal with! Did anyone force them to voluntarily join †ђξ CJTF? Before this pronouncement, they've been fighting this cause without pay and formal training. So I believe †ђξ Governor has actually done †ђξ right thing to have officially given them a sense of belonging and formal training as part of security Agents of †ђξ State. Atleast, they'll be meaningfully engaged! No body is forced to join this Group! This Group was born out of their patrotic zeal to flush out bokoharam in †ђξ state! Now, †ђξy'll be entitled to monthly salary, insurance, and other benefits! Unlike before! So you'all should just shut up! And embrace this move by †ђξ state Government. Except you have a Better offer for them!
Well, all the pay and fringe benefits you mentioned won't be enjoyed for long by them if they are put on the front lines, so to speak, with just sticks and stones.

I do like the initiative to officially involve them in matters of security, thereby enabling them to receive benefits, hence bettering their lives.

I however would have preferred it if they were enrolled out rightly into the army, as maybe an intelligence gathering group, or somn.

As much as we can spare, lets give to them when we can, to encourage and help their morale. N50 is small but when 4 people give them that a day, its a load off their head.

erad: I use illustrator CS4... I derived the 'A & V' from a letter 'V'.
Nice one, so the 'V' is inverted, cool beans. So what about the edges, you just appended those manually?
Art, Graphics & VideoRe: Is Quality Worth Its Price In Branding? by YoshiMaster: 10:49pm On Sep 27, 2013
Also, did you start with an organic "A" first and then clip off parts and add the edges, or did you draw that from scratch.

I really like the edges on the "A" and the "V", trying to replicate it using CS6.

erad: I checked my cousin's DP on bbm couple of days back and saw a logo there. He said the logo belonged to a friend of his who runs a clothing business. I wanted to if the design was done for him free of charge but I decided against it. I'll come back to that later...

Its sad that many Nigerians don't knw the importance and value of branding to their businesses. Some end up realising only when its almost too late and a lot of damages has been done to their businesses already. You give a potential client your business card and he knows within himself that he's neva calling back, the card is even so unwelcoming and unprofessional that he can't bring himself to look at the phone number under... That's what bad branding does.

If you have to be cheap about anything relating to your business, please don't let it be your brand. You'll live to either bless yourself for it or regret it forever. Your workers will come and go, your supplier will come and go, your location can always change but your brand(identity) is forever. Help yourself to look for an experienced designer that will see into the vision of your company and help you make that brand that'll leave an everlasting impression on your clients' mind.

...Back to my cousin's friend's logo. I made two different revisions on my own of the same logo. They are attached below. The 1st is the initial logo I saw and the other two below it are my revisions. Be the judge, which of the brands will you love to be associated with as a potential clienthuh
Dude are you using CS6 for your graphic design? If not, what software are you using?
