Car TalkRe: Death-Traps Along Abuja Airport Road (photos) by YoshiMaster: 2:20pm On May 07, 2013
I would say pedestrians aren't catered to well enough in this country.

Yes some people crossing the highway might seem crazy, but maybe we need flyovers at every major bus stop, so that people wouldn't have to walk 8 miles to find one.

For the people crossing these highways the way they are now, I will urge them to do so very carefully, and not to be like some who just expect the drivers to be so focused and caring, to slow down for them.
GamingRe: What Game Are You Currently Playing? by YoshiMaster: 11:00am On May 03, 2013
Hey guys, don't forget that you can get most of your games at Just Consoles Nigeria (www.justconsolesnigeria.com).

Personally, I think the coolest new game I've played so far is Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

My Marshall Law and Yoshi Combination is damn near unbeatable.

TravelRe: Dead Traffic-Lights & Blocked Drainage In Abuja by YoshiMaster: 4:04pm On May 02, 2013
This is unacceptable, there should be minimal down time for amenities like traffic lights, especially in a so called modern city like Abuja.

Isn't there a traffic monitoring grid? even if there isn't, I'm sure this has already been brought to their attention.

Traffic lights are very important integral parts of traffic decongestion. Any of us can attest to the chaos present at busy junctions were there are no traffic lights.

Should we have to protest, kneel and beg, just to get regular maintenance on our amenities?

Someone up there should have some pride in their work for crying out loud, we need people that would look at their accomplishments (not their loot), smile, and say, "yes we did it, we changed Nigeria".

mymz: "World" of mouth? shocked
you mean the "world" is actually in your mouth? and this sells the above mentioned products? shocked
Chai! English oooo grin
Well the advertising "world" is made up of netherworlds, like pay per click world, radio and tv campaign world, and of course, word of mouth is in a world of its own...

So yeah, I guess the "world of mouth" can be quite effective.

Sorry double post

salt 1: The men who don't cheat on their wives have the following values
1. they respect their bodies: AIDS is just one of numerous stds. Some men have such a regard for their bodies that they won't engage in any risky sexual behaviour
2. they fear God: they actually believe that adultery is sin and won't want to offend God
3. They respect their families: non-cheaters actually value their children's love and opinion and wouldn't like to indulge in anything that will cause their children to look down on them. Have you ever seen the grag-gra on the face of a married man accused of having illegitimate children? Non-cheaters love their wives and mothers very dearly.
4. They value their reputation and wouldn't destroy a child (a maid) who's been thrust into his care

What's my point? That cheating isn't a reaction to circumstances! It is a decision taken by a person independent of the surrounding circumstances. The only value of op's post is to tell wives not to furnish husbands who've already decided to cheat with EXCUSES to carry out the act
True, true, but people do fall though, so as it is stated "Lead us not into temptation".

For instance, yesterday my house help wore some tight, tight pants. Actually felt a very real chill run down my spine, but then U just gotta be able to look just a couple minutes into the future, when the future you gives you a very dirty slap, I mean just nasty, and kicks the s*^t outta you for following through.

PoliticsRe: Banning Of Daytime Movement Of Fuel Tankers And Trailers In Nigeria Campaign! by YoshiMaster: 2:43pm On Apr 28, 2013
KokoBeware: Also you hardly see any road markings....
also everyone just pays 5k for driving license most people dont know anything about traffic signs not to talk of lane discipline
So how do we fix lane discipline? This should be the question.

In the U.S, trailers do drive in the day time, but LANE DISCIPLINE as you so succinctly put it, ensures the safety of other road users.

Trailer movements are usually confined only to the right most lane (slow lane).
PoliticsRe: Banning Of Daytime Movement Of Fuel Tankers And Trailers In Nigeria Campaign! by YoshiMaster: 2:33pm On Apr 28, 2013
pekelepekele:
ANSWER IT'S BECAUSE THERE IS A BIG POT HOLE THAT CAN DAMAGE A VEHICLE AT WHERE I PAINTED RED THAT THOSE TWO VEHICLES AT THE RIGHT ARROW ON THE BELOW IMAGE YOU POSTED IS TRYING TO DODGE, THAT IS NIGERIAN ROADS FOR YOU NOT ALWAYS THE DRIVERS FAULT
lol, you actually cracked me up, but there are a couple holes in your theory.

First even if the road is bad, i.e. there is a pothole on the road, the current lane user must still turn on his signal and SLOW DOWN before entering the other lanes (hence respecting the Lane users on the left). What you find mostly is these dudes just start changing lanes, with speed, without signalling, and it is left to the Lane users to the left to avoid being hit by them.

Secondly: You have made the assumption that all roundabouts in Nigeria are UNIVERSALLY bad, but we both know that this is not the case. What about the roundabouts at Lekki Highway, or the newly constructed roundabout in Lekki phase one with clear lane markings that people still do not adhere to.

You can sugar coat this all you like, but the truth is most people in Nigeria do not yet respect the idea of adhering to their lanes, and you keep seeing them swinging through lanes all over the place, only for them to tell you WAKA, when you do the right thing and stay in your lane.
PoliticsRe: Banning Of Daytime Movement Of Fuel Tankers And Trailers In Nigeria Campaign! by YoshiMaster: 2:09pm On Apr 28, 2013
Biim: It shouldn't end with banning their movement during the day (most of them will definitely default and they may be involved in accidents, driving at night isn't that safe and easy),the government should construct separate roads for them.
No need for seperate roads, or even driving at night.

What we need is strict enforcement of driving laws (and the laws need not even be that crazy, just fines would do).

For instance, in the more developed countries, you feel safe when you are in your lane, your lane is precious, it is yours... So of course when someone just enters you lane willy nilly, it becomes a risk for a grave accident.

We might as well ban DANFOs also, cause these guys cause more accidents, just that there is no mass leakage of fuel involved.

LET US START WITH THE LITTLE THINGS LIKE ENFORCING STAYING IN YOUR LANE.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE PICTURE ON THE RIGHT BELOW?

NEXT TIME ANY OF YOU IS AT A ROUNDABOUT, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO HOW EVERYBODY DRIVES LIKE THE PICTURE ON THE RIGHT BELOW.

TELL POLICE TO ENFORCE THAT FIRST.

Upcoming Projects:

Mega-Plaza (sorry already completed)
Mega-Mall
Mega-Cassava Bread (if you thought the size was okay, thats because you haven't tried the MEGA size yet)
Mega-Man (just like the video game, All Mega-Men will possess MEGA powers)
Mega-Mega-Drive (Mega drives are indeed so last decade, we are building the world first MEGA-MEGA-DRIVE, which should be available at any MEGA-Plaza, or MEGA-Mall near you.)
Mega-Planes (we are inventing the first mega plane, that is able to carry an ordinary size plane inside. Some people ask us why we are building a plane just to carry another plane, and we just shake our heads at them, those killo and centi minded people would never understand our MEGA-Plans.)
Mega-Mega-Plaza (Because Mega-Plaza just isn't MEGA enough.)

NEW "ULTRA" projects to be announced soon, please stay tuned.
CrimeRe: Lagos Police Smash Kidnap Syndicate And Arrest 6 by YoshiMaster: 3:19pm On Apr 26, 2013
I applaud the police if this is really true, however who really knows?

I am talking this way because just two days ago, police was accusing me of being an armed robber/kidnapper, just because I used another car to fix my broken down car (trust me it was as frivolous as that)

Thy then proceeded to confiscate my phone, even when I told them that all I needed to to was make a phone call to clarify the issue.

After seizing my phone, hence making sure that my only comm link was gone, the said I was to follow th to th station, which I adamantly refused, telling them that that is the equivalent of kidnapping.

Now here is where it gets real interesting. After all the back and forth, the then said that I had insulted and roughed up a police woman at some junction. This broke my heart, as I had not even talked to a police woman all year, talk less of insulting one, talk less of harassing one.

It was then I knew that these guys ain't no joke, they can fabricate shit just like that.

Long story short, I had to threaten them with loss of their jobs, lol, to retrieve my phone, made some calls n guys came to retrieve me before they could kidnap me.

Anywho, I do not trust police at all, but kudos to few good men who strive to uphold justice in our society.

Hey guys, does anybody have one that is not jail broken?

I jail broke my iphone once upon a time, and had a boat load of problems, including the inconvenience of having to boot it up with a PC every time the battery died, or I had to do a reset.

lol, it is mine.

I am kinda techy, but not so much as to remember specs of a laptop I have not used in a while.

As I said, the best I can do is to try to research the specs from looking at the body, which I will do later this morning (verrrry sleeeeepyyyyyyy!@@$@**^$)

braine: It looks good. Configuration?
I am not sure, usually I check system details my going to windows-All Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System information, but since the screen is cracked, I can't do that, and I really can't remember.

All I know is I bought it new and then it cracked a couple months after, so I just immediately reverted back to my old lappy, since my old lappy is still relatively new (technology wise).

I will see if I can pull up any system info from the body, or may research the model no if it is stated on the body also.
