Why don't they kwukwuma make a snake facial. "The snake wrapped around the face helps to tighten face muscles", the Dr. said. |
Maxymilliano: @Op, is that the bus driver in singlet poking his head out of the window?Dude, have you ever seen a sophisticated looking danfo Driver before? |
If Lagos is really serious about cleaning up these Lastma peeps, they should use undercover agents, for instance drivers in cars that have hidden cameras strategically placed. When you find a Corrupt Lastma agent that wants bribe, you have the evidence on tape, you prosecute him, enough said!! By the time they start ending up in Jail one by one, it is even them that will tell you they do not want your bribe. |
P.Stacks:I think Christians are doing just fine with our religion, I don't think anyone is really afraid to live in a Christian majority neighborhood. I agree with some of your points, but lemme throw the scenario you pointed out back at you, but with a little twist. Say they were fed a healthy diet of Christianity, during their dire conditions, and still with no education to back it up. Now say they followed the teachings to the letter, and then became "EXTREMISTS", as in, extremists Christians. What do you think is the worst that would have happened? |
Wait, so LIMPOPO is a place? Soooo, why does that guy say "oya limpopo", I am getting closer to unravelling these mysteries. |
They said write to the person above you, yet one Mrs princess and one Ms_ Steph have managed to highjack all the adulation, na wah oh. Just how many guys were directly under these women? hmmmm! ![]() Anywho, if a guy is above me now due to my slow phone typing, then all I can say is how far, good afternoon, if a woman, then imma say something like: Figure 8 oh.... Figure 8 oh.... Figure 8 oh.... Figure 8 oh.... Your waist, your waist, all I want is your waist. |
Standing5: Just what i was thinking also. Except there would be no Air Conditioning units in those airports, i see little sense in the project.@bolded, that was what struck me initially. All those typical big standing air conditioners we see in airports are usually rated at about 3KW at the minimum, I've seen some rated at 7KW. |
I guess what I'm trying to say is that you can't achieve such without: A: settling for a lower watt light bulb, and hence you light intensity might suffer, but on some streets this may be acceptable. B: adding more batteries, which I think would make the installations very cumbersome by having two or more heavy deep cycle batteries at each lamp; not very aesthetically pleasing. I just wish they would add solar farms at some certain places. |
Nice move, but who takes over the power plant once Power China is done with construction? |
Horus: https://images1.hellotrade.com/data2/DB/EC/MY-1540554/solar-street-lights-250x250.jpgGood idea, but there are often inefficiencies in solar panels and you may end up getting about 50% of the power. Also if the battery bank for this setup is contained in that little box below the panels in the pic you posted, then I am guessing the system features just one battery. I doubt high wattage street lights can run from say 7pm-7am on just this setup without the assistance of grid power. However I wish they could concentrate a larger array of panels at strategic locations with larger battery banks, dedicated to powering street lights as opposed to having one panel per street lamp. |
I opened this thread expecting to read some legal reasons why he claims the president can't contest, but then I read this: “The president himself promised not to contest in 2015 during his 2011 electioneering campaigns. Now a leader’s word must be his bond,” Heya! He might as well tell his mommy on the president, if that's the best reason he can come up with. |
"The IPP, when eventually ratified, would be powered by gas and the capacity would be 30 KVA for each of the airports and when completed the projects would be primary power supply to the airports while the present power project almost completed at the Lagos airport would provide secondary power supply during the maintenance of the IPP and other planned interruptions." Just 30KVA? isn't that too small? Thought an airport would need more power. |
The title is a bit misleading, at least most strippers strip voluntarily. This on the other hand is molestation, how do we mobilize to kick these bastards out? |
Gosh, that is disgusting. Has the police descended so low? Even for them suggesting that at all, they should punished. |
"An Igbo proverb says that you can wash the human anus with all the soap in this world and it would still smell of feces." Haba, this is incorrect on so many levels, try using tetmosol, or something stronger if this issue persists. |
You can dress a turd in a Tuxedo, don't make no difference. I guess at least it'll look good. |
Only if nairaland could form a political party, and then we could elect truly intellectual candidates, and genuinely brainstorm amongst ourselves about how to fix our Country. |
jude33084: Watch thais videoDude I didn't see a video, but I saw this pic, scary.
|
Men scary! So you're telling me even a knife won't do anything in that situation? God forbid. |
We really need a break down of police jurisdictions, you can still have federal police, but every state needs their own police if you ask me. Like the L.A.P.D, or the Dallas Police Department, or the State Troopers. I have so many ideas for our police but of course I am not in charge. We need new cop cars (not military like trucks), at almost every junction; though they are trying now with the display of police on most streets these days. We need a database, I can't stress this enough. Police officers need to be able access a drivers license database, referencing the drivers license number to pull up the drivers information. They need a police radio, I see some with walkies though, but they need a central command with the radio host being able to radio commands to various police radios simultaneously, they also need to be able to radio in troubled situations in their respective zones. This helps a lot with response, as the nearest police car can begin to proceed to a troubled zone, with the second nearest cop car proceeding to assist as back up. They need a livable salary. Lets be real, people charged with protecting our lives and the laws of the society should be paid well and be given enough benefits to suit the position they hold. A salary of at least NGN150,000 per officer seems reasonable. If they can't afford to pay that to everyone, then they should cut the size of the force accordingly. I would rather have 5 excellently trained commandos, that 10 amateurs brandishing weapons. With great power comes great responsibility. We need to assess the character and intelligence levels of every single police officer in the force at present. Those that don't meet a certain threshold should be paid off, because policing is serious business. Going forward, we need to uphold this threshold, by setting minimum requirements for entry into the force, like having a College Degree. Have you seen their Police Stations? Wow is all I can say, I once went there and saw two chickens fighting. I just thought, how is it even possible that in a CITY, in 2013, at a so called POLICE STATION, you are met with rural animals fighting as if the police station was some sort of farm. The lack of infrastructure there was ridiculous, I mean no computers, statements written in some sort of dungeon, no sight of technology what so ever. We need to rebuild these stations for crying out loud and equip them to the teeth. Express yourselves! As a way to check the police from any malpractice, we should feel free to air grievances we have with them to the courts, and also to the public via social media. That way they are never put above the Law. Finally their moral obligation. The moral obligation to Law and Order by the Police needs to be re-inforced in them. Quick example, I am driving back home one day, when I see a naked woman just sitting right in the median on a very busy street. Funny thing is you had so many police cars drive by, and not one of them stopped to assess the situation surrounding that incident. |
Ghost in the Picture: Hello, who is this? Ghost on the other line: Na me na! Ghost in the Picture:How far? Ghost on the other line:Omo I hear say dem dey send Ghost Busters come that side Oh! Nice one in embracing technology, even Jand buses accept e-tickets. They should keep striving to make the transport system better and more organized, i.e bus schedules, bus destination LCDS in front of the buses to show their destination(funny thing, I saw one of these in Nigeria used for transport, but it still had the German city name on top), organized bus stops, and ensuring buses stop at bus stops only. Good job guys. |
Yomieluv: If this has happened in Nigeria,so people would have been ranting rubbish blaming FAAN,FG,and so on,now it happened in oyinbo land, all we can say is "Thank God,no life lost". Imperial colonization mindset.Well what do you expect us to say? First of all, its the duty of citizens to offer constructive criticism in times like these. I am sure U.S.A blogs are going crazy now trying to get to the bottom of it, so do not blame Nigerians for trying to get to the bottom of the DANA Air Crash that happened in our own Country. Secondly, the response in Nigeria was too poor. My sister was driving that day, when she heard a caller on radio shouting that there is a plane crash somewhere and that people where burning alive, yet other stations where still playing music (maybe not their fault), but the propagation of the news, and commencement of help and rescue efforts should have been faster. All in all it is a Patriots duty to constructively criticize their government for the betterment of all. |
We just need spy pen cams on many people, you know, the ones that have cameras in them, very cool. I am planning on getting one soon. I will attach it to my shirt or in some low-key position when approaching any check point, that should be enough to get some attention. Also you can start some sort of petition and have people e-sign them. I think that is the first way to go about it, I would definitely sign a petition for police reform. Anyways, please people, expose all these check points and put them on YOUTUBE. They might make the Country look bad internationally, but in time, they may go viral and cause a stir in the Nigerian Government. Police issues are numerous, from the training camps, to their living quarters, their salaries, their police cars, lack of technology, etiquette.... So the government really needs to address these basic issues, while simultaneously, adopting new officers that meet certain criteria, of which a college education should be of principle importance. |
