PoliticsRe: Cement Decrease Very Difficult - Dangote by youngmonie: 6:00pm On May 18, 2011
Theres one thing i dont see people talking about COOOOOSSTT!!!, To me I dnt think its just the prices of cement, if you look at the rate of inflation generally in Nigeria is just jumping higher and higher, from cost of electricity to cost of fuel to cost of transportation to cost of employment everything add adds up to business cost whether fixed or variable. Hence it has to be passed on to the consumers unless( The government is ready to subsidies, of which they do not have the money) and again if you look at nigeria as a whole i think the pries of cement should actually be coming down because there is so much demand construction here and there, but u kno ppl like dangote would like to cash in on it, Would also like to correct one impression that people say DANGOTE IS A MONOPOLY, ? The man jus got economies of scale, if you do something better than your competitors it doesnt make u a monopoly, does it>?

violent:
It's in the interest of the party, the populace and democracy at large, if a party, along with its flag bearing members speak with one voice and operate with the same ideology/values.

In Britain, the Conservatives adheres to philosophy of conservatism and British unionism and they form their policies to reflect such, the Labor party on the other hand embrace a socialist ideology and believes in free market policies.

It makes no sense that PDP stands for nothing!
Thank God der r still people that have sense on this forum!!

PoliticsRe: Proscribe CPC now, Prof. Omoruyi tells INEC by youngmonie: 10:26am On Apr 23, 2011
Beaf:
Yes, he did. And he kept at it to the extent that the FG had to warn him twice, on the last occassion, threatening him with arrest. I created a thread on that subject and a horde of wild CPC zealots came on saying GEJ dare not arrest Buhari for whatever inciting things he was saying.
We don't have short memories, there are clear as day pictures of both Buhari and Bakare conducting CPC rallies with spears in their hands. They could have passed the same message with AK, cutlasses or daggers. Buhari is famous for telling almajiri's to lynch; Bakare is famous for his "wild-wild North" as well as telling CPC supporters to go vote with kerosine and matches, as well as telling them to be ready to self-immolate like the guy in Tunisia.
Buhari, Bakare and Odumakin repeatedly told the World to expect a Libya, Egypt and Tunisia all rolled into one.

CPC entered the contest like a party spoiling for war and bloodshed. Today, the result is clear.
No ohhh, he said they should lynch anyone "caught trying to rig the election", nt trying to exonorate him nd his extremism, but from d way i see it, if all this talk about zoning or no zoning hadnt come up, do u think all this would have happened ( some northern elders in PDP I believe should be investigated as well, d like of ciroma and IBB)
PoliticsRe: Proscribe CPC now, Prof. Omoruyi tells INEC by youngmonie: 9:46am On Apr 23, 2011
Wait I just like to ask one big question. DID BUHARI EVER TELL HIS SUPPORTERS TO GO OUT AND KILL PEOPLE?, DID HE NOT CONDEM THE VIOLENCE WHEN IT BROKE OUT?, so all this rant about buhari being behind all this violence in the north I just dont get it
PoliticsObasanjo, Pdp Linked With Post-election Crises In The North- by youngmonie(op): 11:30pm On Apr 22, 2011
Governorship candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change in Enugu State,Osita Okechukwu has said that the current spate of post-election violence in some northern States, were fruits of former president, Gen Olusegun Obasanjo’s ‘mischievously sowed evil seeds’.

He also linked the crises which have claimed lives and properties to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, explaining that the core element of the anger in the North could be traced to the zoning convention.

He said, “For the present crisis, it is important that before President Goodluck Jonathan sets up the Judicial Commission of Inquiry to unearth the immediate and remote causes of the political inferno and post electoral violence; one deems it necessary to appeal to our dear compatriots to embark on introspection and recall how the fault lines, the contradictions and the anti-thesis which are the metaphor of the bloodletting today, were sowed mischievously as evil seeds by ex-president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and indeed the Peoples Democratic Party {PDP} in 2007.

“In genuinely unraveling what simulated the anger in the North, zoning convention is the core element; however we must remember the web-design weaved by ex-president Obasanjo when Nigerian patriots vehemently rejected his 3rd Term gambit.

Chief Obasanjo never forgave Nigerians, especially the North for denying him the opportunity to elongate his tenure via constitutional amendment. There and then, he triggered off a chain of activities and encouraged a lot of Nigerians, mostly governors especially Northerners in the spirit of the zoning convention of his party – PDP, to succeed him.”

He noted that political violence remained prevalent in the country due to the people’s resistance to electoral fraud in Nigeria.

“Political violence at different degrees has been the bane of electoral fraud in Nigeria - 1964 Operation Wetie, 1983 violence in the South West, 1993 June 12 Crisis, 2007 violence in the North and the present inferno; all had their root in peoples resistance to rigging.
Neither the CPC nor Buhari by any stretch of imagination can be linked to the anti-thesis or the remote cause of the political inferno in the North.

“Lets us be sincere and cast our mind back on how we came to this sordid scenario, especially on the germane issue of why the North is angry politically.

“In the contest for Obasanjo’s anointment were ex-governors Peter Odili, Adamu Mu’azu, Abdullahi Adamu, Ahmed Maikarfi, Donald Duke, and Professor Jerry Gana et al. The Chief deceptively kept their hopes alive until the last minute, when he anointed the terminally-ill late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

“In anointing Umaru Yar’ Adua of blessed memory, Obasanjo was fully aware that he was terminally ill and was not in the best frame to govern the country and was not healthy to fill up the Northern slot in line with the zoning convention of his party.

“Questions! Questions! Questions! Why chose a man who never canvassed to be president? Was the North fairly treated with Umaru Yar’Adua selection among healthy and loyal members of Chief Obasanjo’s party?

“This is the anger of the North, neither of CPC as a political party nor Buhari as a person; for which Chief Obasanjo should be held culpable.” He added.

I kinda reason along with this guy. In my own opinion if PDP did not bring about this zonning issue, all this violence would not happen. SENSIBLE suggestion s please, NO CURSING PLEASE, just state ur opinion

What zoning policy caused which problem? The policy is a PDP idea, is Buhari a member of PDP? How does PDP policy apply to him? where does the Nigerian constitution support zoning?

cmon use your head bro, Northern leaders in PDP didnt have their way with PDP (Atiku lost out on the primaries), they had  no other option than to through their weight behind buhari.  Please try and think outside the box, the likes of ciroma and IBB   supported buhari   if not he would not have won as he did in the north. He doesnt have  to be a member of PDP.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Barred From Entering Suleja by youngmonie: 9:34am On Apr 22, 2011
Ok this thing is begging to freak me out. We have failed to ask ourselves on big question, WHAT IS THE BIG CAUSE OF THESE PROBLEMS?, PDP AND ITS ZONING POLICY. Im sorry if there was nothing like zoning policy in the first place all this rubbish wouldnt be hapning. And for those blaming buhari, common he never said people should go around killing people and he even came out to condem the violence. So all this calling names  wouldnt help. And the Nigerian media itself has a role to play, alk blaming buhari for the violence

lol!!!!, aw noww, my papa no be politician ohhhh!!!,

But the fact  is it is all left to jonathan now!!!, there is going to be a huge pressure on him. He has to take one side, either the PEOPLE or PDP cos there are  going to be many contradicting issues and Nigerians would hold him to a very high expectation for who he is and what he promised to do before the election. Lets just see aw the next four years would turn  out to be!!! (That is when we will know the TRUE jonathan)

Im sure if i ask 98% of the people on nairaland why they are voting for any candidate, they will yarn balls. Its high time we begin to vote for policies and nt people, What policies are they going to bring if elected, how would it affect our lives and the future of our country, rather we jus start shouting GEJ all the way, BB 2011 , RIBADU for president. How are we going to hold them accountable if they fail at the end of the day?

People are4 getting one thing wrong here, to me i dont think its a bad idea for a GROUP of actor to come out and show solidarity for him, but when you now sai the whole Nollywood, then some 1 must be crazy. First of all they dont send the message out on why we should vote for him, no idealogoy, no policies, cmmon, its high time we wake up
PoliticsRe: Official Thread Of The Bon Nedg Presidential Debate by youngmonie: 8:46pm On Mar 30, 2011
To me i feel  he tried, considering the pressure on him. He tried  and we could also understand  the point of view of other candidates. It was a missed oppurtunity for them. But  there are certian questions that need to be asked.

1) When were theses questions set, was it before or after the other candidates  pulled out, cos it seems to me that that he just came to sell his manifesto there, there were no real tasking question particularly regarding some of the actions  and decisions by his government.

So going into agriculture is a terrible idea to get employed when there is a huge gap in food production and the ever increasing population. Provisions to huge necessities like food results into wealth creation. .

Wealth can only be created when you bring value to the market and agriculture is one of those my good friend
I am not saying its bad idea, but the issues i pointed out  in my post are key factors to job creation if these things dont work ders no way  there would be  enough jobs for Nigerians. Even if you go into agricultutre, they will still play a key role

PoliticsRe: Buhari, Ribadu, Shekarau Pull Out Of BON Debate by youngmonie: 11:46am On Mar 24, 2011
Some Nigerians should get their head together and look at the issues. GEJopted out of the first debatebecause of refusal to get the  questions  before the debate itself, how sensible is that?. When he saw Nigerians were clamouring for one and the neccesity of him  participating in one. It is only right  for the PDP led Government to organise and orchastrate their own debate. NIGERIANS ARE NOT FOOLS!!!, except for some pathetic  nad ignorant people that know that know the truth yet  make a mockery on themselves on here!!
