Jobs/VacanciesRe: Is A Nigerian Salary Earner Of 500k Per Month Considered Rich? by youngvito: 6:37pm On May 27, 2022
Thats 30 million naira a year, lets be realistic, u earn more than 99% of Nigerians , you can live comfortably in most locations in d country, your kids can go to a good private school, u can afford an overseas trip, u can afford support staff( driver, cook, cleaner)... a lot of Nigerians would consider u rich truthfully speaking.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Is A Nigerian Salary Earner Of 500k Per Month Considered Rich? by youngvito: 1:43pm On May 26, 2022
500k below average in borno? What is the chief justice of born state's monthly salary? What is the highest paying establishment in borno state? What does the VC of UNIMAID earn monthly? What do commissioners earn as salary in borno? These are spurious claims and should never be taken seriously. Even in Lagoa, 500k is a more than decent salary in 70% of neighbourhoods, let alone Borno.
SamuelAnyawu:
500k is below average for the working class here in Borno state
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Is A Nigerian Salary Earner Of 500k Per Month Considered Rich? by youngvito:
Lets be clear, the term " RICH" is relative...Generally speaking, 500k is a substantial salary when you consider the fact that only few private companies can pay that every 4 weeks, and you must be highly experienced to earn that in most private establishments. Only select few businesses in Lagos can pay that sort of salary at any rate. There are 35 other states, the average salary in these 35 states combined is probably between 50k-200k. That's a lot less than 500k, meaning u earn between 7-10 times more than most workers in all other 35 states aside from Lagos.

The CBN recently published a statistic that says only 5% of Nigerian Bank accounts have over 500k as bank balance, it says a lot about where Nigerians are economically.

The government accounts for 60% of the Labour force, and the average employees for what its worth, earn peanuts.
500k a month would not make u rich in most big cities, especially in some parts of Lagos, but when u take that to bauchi, Ekiti etc.. thats a whole lot of cash ,and most residents in these locations would consider you at least VERY COMFORTABLE if not rich.

If your girlfriend is loyal to you then it's a privilege, its not binding on her as there is no form of obligation or formal arrangement. You cant report her to your pastor/ Imam or take her to court. If you spend on her also, your money is gone...deal with it

It's really sad that a man would accost a woman on the streets over infidelity even when they aren't married. The tag " GIRLFRIEND" has no religious or legal implications to justify such public display of irritation.

Men need to understand something, if u want to feel entitled then marry this woman, at that point u can make a case for unfaithfulness otherwise you should be wearing a wig and a big red nose cuz u are just a clown.

The man just displayed he childishness by requested for an iPhone and chain, really? He doesn't even deserve a decent t woman with an attitude like that

I have spent the last 45 minutes trying to make sense of Cubana chief priest's comment and nothing reasonable has come to mind.

A. Fayose can probably still afford a private jet
B. Some Nigerians have a phobia for " sapa" , it would never find them due to their extensive network( Fayose is one of those Nigerians)
C. Fayose by default has no problem with associating with the common man, check his antecedents.
D. Fayose is not a trust fund baby, his background was humble , meaning riding on an okada is not completely alien to him.

CelebritiesRe: Seun Kuti Tells Religious Leaders To Stop Praying For Nigeria by youngvito: 12:22pm On Sep 13, 2021
It's ridiculous how much Nigerians pray about practically every situation. When are we going to take our destiny In our own hands and adopt a different approach? You would think by now we would be the most successful nation on earth with the incessant prayers/ fasting.

Unfortunately, most of the successful countries lobally don't have a culture of praying religiously. Instead they take take the bull by the horns and put in the work neccesary to achieve greatness.

I am not discouraging anyone from praying , the fact is this approach has not worked for the nation ... for christs sake we are the poverty capital of the world and a country plagued by armed robbery, extrajudicial killings, banditry, kidnapping, illiteracy, corruption etc and we the citizens have been praying for over half a century!!!! prayer wont resolve these pressing issues to be honest

The middle east has some of the most religious and prayerful Muslims globally and yet it is the most volatile region on earth.
CelebritiesRe: Bobrisky: Money Is Far Better Than True Love, Don’t Settle For Less by youngvito: 7:17pm On Sep 08, 2021
How did we get here for Christ's sake, we now take dating advice from Bob risky ? Sigh!!!!!
His take on this subject is totally mediocre. Granted women act like money is everything, but there is still a place for affection, loyalty, Commitment and compatibility. If you are looking at the big picture then you can't prioritise money completely when it comes to dating, it's suicidal and says alot about the women's intellectual barrenness.

How does a woman just date a guy for something as common as " money" ? It still beats me to be honest because that's the one thing anyone can acquire by hook or by crook.
PoliticsRe: IBB At 80: Obasanjo, Saraki, Prominent Nigerians In Minna, Journalists Barred by youngvito: 2:45am On Aug 18, 2021
Whether or not you love this man....IBB, after leaving the presidency 28 years ago amongst controversy and widespread criticism over embezzlement, corruption and the June 12 1993 elections annulment is still the most influential Nigerian of the last 30 years.

There is something about his personality that attracts people to him from both far and wide, his relevance in Nigerian politics till date is a testament to this as well as the calibre of guests from far and wide at his 80th birthday.

Happy birthday to him at 80, thats a milestone age.

SOME PROBLEMS THE NIGERIAN YOUTH CURRENTLY FACE
Unemployment
Poverty
Business startup capital
Bad governance
Lack of good healthcare
Drugs/ alcohol abuse
Insecurity

For Ohaneze to even think of bringing up BBN amongst the plethora of issues staring us in the face just reeks of ignorance and insensitivity.

BBN is Rated 18, clearly for mature audiences and can be coded on request by multichoice.. there is no obligation to watch the show in any way , shape or form

To be honest, the average Nigerain has low moral standards.... Bribery, looting, corruption etc are the bane of society and a norm in modern Nigeria. the youth have 99 problems and BBN ain't one.

FamilyRe: Please "Go And Marry" Is It An Advice Or Insult? by youngvito: 6:15am On Jul 06, 2021
Nigeria is probably the only country in the world where marriage is considered a major achievement. A court gives you a signed piece of paper and u can start living with your spouse, thats marriage. There is nothing out of this world about this union, good, people, bad people, rich people. Poor people, ugly people , beautiful people etc all get married

The fact is this, you are not in any position to tell anyone outrightly to "go and marry". Not everyone is keen on marriage and saying that to a lady just makes u look intrusive.

As the topic implies, I recently told it to a girl whom I felt was way older than the lifestyle she was forcing herself to live, I noticed that her mood changed and she went into a rage and said I insulted her... please house look into it, is it an insult?

And why do many girls see that statement as an insult?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigerian Private Sector: 10 Things you must know by youngvito: 1:35pm On Jun 09, 2021
This is easily, one of the best posts I have read on nairaland in a while. The nuggets of knowledge and information in the article is priceless.

Thank you.

VickypediaPHC:
It has become imperative to discuss some happenings in the Nigerian workspace, especially in the private sector, that constitute the bulk of the labor force in Nigeria. Why most Nigerian private sector has clearly shown its unfavorable dynamics to Nigerians, we won't overlook how it has supported and sustained most families regardless of their poor remunerations. If you are working in a private organization or company, you must be mindful of the points below;

1. Nigerian private sector jobs must never be your long-term goal, but rather an opportunity to garner experience and plan for the future.

2. There is no job security in the most private sector. Apply for other better opportunities elsewhere regardless of your job satisfaction, comfort, and structure. This will help you avoid CAREER SHOCKS.

3. If you must be paid handsomely, you must show results for the huge pay. You must be extremely good at what you do to warrant good pay and multiply the value of your pay in monetary terms to your employer.

4. If you can't take shi*t, insults, unprofessional conduct from a superior, please avoid the Nigerian private sector. A lot are very toxic. Consider entrepreneurship or government jobs.

5. Most people, not all though, that work for private organizations have NOTHING to should after years of hard work and service for their organizations.

6. Don't believe you are too important or irreplaceable. Anybody can be sacked, fired, and replaced. In an event of death, the company or organization will move on.

7. Improve yourself on the job. Get certifications, postgraduate degrees if you can, and ensure you improve and enhance yourself as much as possible. Prepare for growth and to match up with current trends in your industry.

8. While salary is the biggest motivation for most employees, money should not necessarily be your highest priority. Go for growth, career fulfillment, job satisfaction, and jobs that offer you spare time to recuperate to avoid poor mental health and stress, while it allows you to spend time with your family.

9. At the early stage of your career, you tend to work more and earn less, as you progress, you tend to be paid your real worth or value on the job at the mid career level. Then as an expert or highly skilled professional, you tend to work less and earn more. This doesn't apply in all cases though.

10. If possible, everyone needs to have experience in the private sector in Nigeria. They challenge you, they teach you the good bad, and the ugly, they make you stronger, they shape you to experience the difficult side of the labor market. Whether it turns out to be good or bad, appreciate the experience. You tend to see both sides of the coin and become a better Man-manager in the future.

I hope this is informative and is helpful to someone.
CrimeRe: Stop Jumping Through Barrack's Fence - Jaji Military Cantonment by youngvito: 11:50am On Jun 04, 2021
I thought the absolute same thing. If scaling the jaji barracks fence is a crime, the right thing to do in the circumstances is to prosecute the offender.

A military man has no right to take the life of a private citizen simply because of a trivial crime like jumping over a fence.

Thats the level of backwardness we are currently experiencing in Nigeria and its sad because the government would tuen a blind eye and do absolutely nothing about such a bold statement by the military

NwaAmaikpe:
shocked

I've never seen such a brazen display of arrogance by an Institution on it's absolute disregard for man's fundamental right to life.

How did we get here?
So the only punishment for not entering a barracks through the gate is to be killed?

Even scaling the fence of the White House will not warrant you getting shot at sight but what the hell do I know?
PoliticsRe: Six Years Of Buhari: How Ebonyi Has fared Since 2015 by youngvito: 9:53am On May 13, 2021
Honestly, it really breaks my heart to see that the average Nigerian's definition of development in 2021 is the same as 1975 ( tarred roads, street lights, drainage etc), these are not hallmarks of development in 2021, the average city is expected to have roads, lights and the likes.. its similar to a phone brand projecting " Bluetooth technology" as a special phone feature in 2021.
When you take into account all global indices of development, Ebonyi and indeed Nigeria performs woefully e.g
Birth and death rate
Literacy rate
Life expectancy
Infant mortality rate
GDP per capita
Education index
Income index
Technological advancement
Access to quality health care
Emergency services
Security
Employment rate

These factors is the reason why the world has acknowledged certain countries/ states as developed. All these pictures are just mere propaganda and delusions of grandeur. Ebony is still extremely backward by any yardstick.

PoliticsRe: Gumi: CBN Should Pay ₦100m Greenfield Students’ Ransom Before It’s Too Late by youngvito: 8:35am On May 05, 2021
This is a brilliant take.
Sirjamo:
When all of us (Including Buhari) are ready to fight insecurity, we would remove that useless and corrupt subsidies on PMS and electricity, reduce the cost of governance by 50% and use the money to recruit more security personnel; buy more equipment and send thousands for world class counter terrorism training abroad.

South Africa of 50m people with no active terror group spend $5b on security annually.

Nigeria of 200m people with many active terror groups spend $2b on security annually.

If government is deceiving me that it has the capacity and resources to secure this country, I cannot deceive myself. The policing system is practically non - existent due to poor funding, and it should be leading the fight against terror.

I know some pathetic wailers will see this as a defending Buhari, but, Boko haram as seen 3 presidents and 40 service chiefs, this is beyond incompetence, it's systemic incapacitation. We need to overhaul and completely re - energize the system and in doing so, both the government and the citizens must be ready to make sacrifices.

RomanceRe: My Girlfriend Has Changed Totally by youngvito: 6:28am On Apr 14, 2021
Dude, there has to be a reason why she isn't communicating anymore, give her the benefit of the doubt, She might b going through some sort of depression. There is no excuse for bad behaviour and it should never be rewarded. If she isn't reaching out, please give her time and space, if she's remorseful she would make amends herself and work her way back into your life, if she doesn't do this then her interest level is veery low... at that point you have to move on and cut your losses.
Women are like that sometimes, they exhibit erratic behaviour and show low emotional intelligence, its your duty to see the writings on the wall and ultimately quit with your dignity intact.
