Ijele-igbo: 1. Do not depend on your parents' wealth. Someone may come tomorrow to dupe you and you will lose everything. Learn to do things on your own.
2. God has given everyone a talent. Pray about yours, discover it, and work on it. Then it will work out for you.
3. Do not just sit down and ping, tweet, facebook while others are making money with their talents. Be wise for once, the owners of these social networks are using us to make money.
4. It is good to appreciate good things, but learn to appreciate it wisely and stop arguing unnecessarily about footballers and Celebrities. When will people argue about you also? Think about!
5. Don't feel like a Don for sleeping with too many ladies, they won't make your destiny fulfilled as some are filled with bad luck.
6. Learn to get an Industrious lady close to you. Remember behind every successful man, there is a woman to be. (note a lady not just some girl)
7. Learn to solve problem on your own, it is a good way of making it in life. Don't copy others, tap little from them and modify it.
8. Stop drinking and smoking too much as it may damage your life. If you must do, Do it socially.
9. Learn to have a good heart, help people around you and they'll use their heart to bless you.
10. Think about impossible things, try to make it possible. Bigger people started from somewhere. No Rome was built in a day.. Oga at the top will soon send his boi boi to ban you for 8 months with hard labour lol. Nevertheless, good advice from a brother. |

kulyie: Well thats the sad reality happening in lagos and other parts of nigeria.anytime i buy things from this youngsters i leave the change with them as a way of helping them because i usually feel sorry for them.you or i could have been in their position but thank God for God and thank God for your parents.i remember when i was on leave few years back, there was one little girl that usually hawks packs of maggi and other cooking things around my street and i had to call the little girl,i asked her how old are you she said 8,i said dont you have parents, she said they do,i said ehhen, where are they, she said they are at home watching t.v,i said oya take me to your house, she entered the car with her things, while at it i called the enforcement agents that arrest people that traffic kids and use them as labourers when they should be in school.anyway they came and met me where we were and as soon as she saw the officers she started getting agitated.she said aunty what did i do that you are calling police for me,i said you did nothing, they are not arresting you and she started crying aunty dont let them take me away and then i said ok they wont.just be calm,i told those guys to drive behind me and follow me to their house.when we got there,we actually met them watching tv,the mans leg on the table drinking dry gin and tying wrapper to his waist while the mother was tying short wrapper sitting idle,i said oya guys do your work.the man asked what is our offence,as typical of police, they said when you get there you will know,to cut the long story short, they claimed it was poverty.they were asked to write statement and they will let them go but be monitoring that girl, the next time she is found on the street when she is supposed to be in school, they will be arrested.that was the last time i saw that girl there.if i didnt take action, thats how the parents will destroy that girls life all in the name of poverty, before we say jack robinson, one hooligan will lure her with 1oo naira to an uncompleted building and rape her there, before she is 15,she is a female tout or prostitute constituting a nuisance to her country.its just very pathetic.things like this breaks my heart Naija mentality. Must everything be shifted to poverty. He has the cash to drink and watch tv while his mates are out there struggling. If I were the government they will be send to 2 weeks in prison. Useless family. FG need to do something, this is getting out of hand. If you can't afford to train a child don't give birth to them period . The one that always annoy me the most is that the world richest men always have 1 or 2 kids . But poor niggas will like to have one dozen, isn't that stupidity. Our FG should look into the way poor niggas produce children because that is child labour which should be abolished. God bless 9ja. |

BENIN CITY— THERE was confusion in Lampese Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, which shares a boundary with Kogi State, when two children of the same parents, identified as Omolayo Ojeifo(25) and her younger brother, Taiye (20) reportedly lured their mother identified as Mrs. Itowo Ojeifo to a farm road and killed her.
It was gathered that Omolayo has had a running battle with her mother, whom she accused of being the reason she had not prospered in life and also being a witch.
She was said to have apologised to her mother few days to the dastardly act and pleaded that she was misled into believing that her problems were caused by her, but unknown to the deceased, she was being tricked into her untimely death.
Vanguard was informed that the suspect, Omolayo, had last Wednesday, appealed to her mother to accompany her somewhere and despite her mother’s refusal that she was busy at home, she was able to convince her mother to follow her, as the deceased abandoned the cassava she was peeling and accompanied her, not knowing that her children had perfected plans to kill her.
She was said to have been led through a bush path to the farm and midway, the son brought out a machete, which he used in “cutting their mother.”
An eye witness, who was said to have been threatened by the suspects that he would be dealt with if he reports what he saw was said to have rushed back to the community, where he reported the incident, but before people could be mobilised to the scene, the woman had been killed by her children.
Confirming the incident yesterday, Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, Moses Eguavoen, said the incident happened on July 3 and that it was the former husband of the deceased, Mr Sunday Itowo that made a formal report to the police on the incident.
He said the victims ran to Uzebba in Owan West Local Government Area but that the covert intelligence of the police led to their arrest.
“The case will soon be transferred to the state command for further investigation,” the police said. Source |

https://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/130706151317-san-fransisco-plane-crash-02-story-top.jpg (CNN) -- A Boeing 777 operated by Asiana Airlines crashed while landing Saturday at San Francisco International Airport, an FAA spokesman told CNN. Flight 214 had flown from Seoul, South Korea. Anthony Castorani, who saw the flight land from a nearby hotel, said he saw the plane touch the ground then noticed a larger plume of white smoke. "You heard a pop and you immediately saw a large, brief fireball that came from underneath the aircraft," he told CNN. "It began to cartwheel." Video taken soon after the crash and posted on YouTube showed dark gray smoke rising from the plane, which appeared to be upright. That smoke later became white, even as fire crews continued to douse the plane. The top of the aircraft was charred and, in spots, gone entirely, according to video from CNN affiliate KTVU. The plane was on its belly, with no landing gear evident and the rear tail of the plane gone. Fire trucks were on site, while first responders could be seen walking outside the aircraft. Evacuation slides could be seen extending from one side of the aircraft, from which there was no apparent smoke. There were a few clouds in the sky around the time of the crash, and temperatures were about 65 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Winds were about 8 miles per hour. The airport is about 12 miles south of downtown San Francisco. Asiana Airlines is one of South Korea's two major airlines, the other being Korean Air. CNN's Dana Bash, who was heading to the airport at the time of the crash, said she noticed smoke emanating from the runway. She said she had not noticed any arrivals or departures since the crash.

Education › We Can’t Continue To Graduate Unemployable Students – ASUU by Youngzedd(op): 8:05am On Jul 06, 2013 |
NATIONAL President of Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Dr. Nasir Issa-Fagee, has said that the Nigerian universities will not continue to churn out unemployable graduates because of lack of training facilities in the institutions.
The ASUU President, who spoke to Saturday Vanguard in Abuja, said that though the strike affected both parents and students, there was the need for sacrifice by all the stakeholders in order to ensure that Nigeria graduates competed with their peers in other parts of the world.
He noted that the agreement which the union entered into with the federal government in 2009 was due for review in June 20th, 2012, regretting that many years after the agreement it had not been substantially implemented.
Declaring the indefinite strike as total, the ASUU President said that though the strike had affected academic calendar, the universities cannot continue in the old way of doing things that was not beneficial to graduates after their long years in school.
He said, “The academic calendar had already been affected. For the fact that students were graduating they do not even perform well when they get into the labour market.
“I don’t really know what is our priority, is it that we just continue churning out graduates with certificate who may not perform because they have not been trained adequately because of lack of training facilities, research, laboratories, workshops and adequately equipped libraries.
“ This is an agreement that was signed in 2009 and it supposed to have been reviewed in 20th June 12 last year, I hope we are now in July, 2013 that is one year after, we have not substantially implemented that agreement talk less of commencing the process of review.
“So I think that is the key issue. If government is serious, it would have substantially implemented the agreement before June 20 and commence the process of review of that agreement.”

Politics › Appeal Court Dethrones Obong Of Calabar by Youngzedd(op): 7:41am On Jul 05, 2013 |
CALABAR — APPEAL Court sitting in Calabar, yesterday, confirmed a Calabar High Court ruling which, in October 2012, nullified the processes for the selection of Obong of Calabar through which Etubom Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu emerged as Obong.
The court ordered for another selection process to elect an Obong for the Efik.
In a unanimous decision, Justice Mohanmmed Lawal, Justice Uzor Ndukwe and Justice Onyekachi Okisi, the Appeal Court judges agreed that the selection processes through which Etubom Abasi Otu emerged to become the Obong of Calabar was not all inclusive and thus new processes should be instituted for all eligible persons to undergo the selection of Obong. *Aloma-Mariam-Mukhtar, CJN: Promises reformation
https://dvsl3w2q45hb8.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Aloma-Mariam-Mukhtar.jpg *Aloma-Mariam-Mukhtar, CJN
The judgment also disqualified Chief Anthony Ani, who is the first respondent from contesting since he was not a capped chief, which is a prerequisite for the qualification to contest for the post of Obong.
Reacting to the judgment, counsel to Chief Anthony Ani, Mr. Bassey Offiong said: “The court delivered judgment in part.
“So many issues were in contention including first, whether Etubom Anthony Ani was qualified to contest for the stool.
“The court ruled that since he was not capped, he was not qualified to contest for the Obongship stool based on the constitution of Obong council.”
He said secondly, the court considered the issue of natural justice and said Etubom Ani was not given fair hearing during the selection process because his complaints were not listened to and therefore another selection exercise should be conducted which is all inclusive.
Reacting, Etubom Anthony Ani said he would study the judgment before taking a decision whether to appeal.
or not. “Well, I was not in court and my lawyer just briefed me. So far, I see the ruling as 50-50 affair. I will look at it, see how it affects me and may be appeal the judgment.
“However, one thing we are sure of for now is that there is no Obong of Calabar because the judgment today has nullified the entire processes. For the Efik people now, there is no Obong”.
On his part, counsel to Obong Barrister A.A Archi of Nella, Lawal and Rabana chambers said the judgment is a vindication that capping is a fundamental requirement for a candidate to be eligible to be qualified to contest for selection, election or appointment to the Obong of Calabar throne.
“The judgment also upheld our view that a learned trial judge, with all due respect, sought to perpetually alter the standing and recognized customs of the Efiks which would have affected the lives and people of the community”.
according to him the barring of Etubom Ani from the selection processes is a vindication that the Obong of Calabar, was eligible to be selected and appointed as Obong “although the court nullified the processes but we are still confident that the he will still after due processes have been followed emerge as the Obong of Calabar”.
Chief Ani, the counsel said is not qualified and “will no longer be qualified to contest since he was not abintio capped while all others who are qualified will be eligible to contest.

Crime › Police Parade Gay Pastor For Alleged Rape Of Member (pic) by Youngzedd(op): 7:22am On Jul 05, 2013 |
BENIN CITY — THE Edo State Police Command, yesterday, paraded 26 suspected criminals including a pastor identified as Philips Ogbebor, alleged to have had carnal knowledge of a 20-year-old male member of his church (names withheld).
After the act, the pastor allegedly threatened to kill his victim if he disclosed the act to the public.
Speaking to Vanguard, Pastor Ogbebor simply said: “God will judge, go and talk to others” and kept on mumbling.
https://dvsl3w2q45hb8.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/gay-pastor.jpg
But his victim narrated his ordeal: “I told him I have never done this since I grew up, but he insisted. It was painful and I told him I will not allow it again. So after the second attempt, I told him I will expose the act. He then administered an oath on me, saying if I ever told any one, I will die.
“He carried sand and olive oil and poured them on my head, then he wore black garment, saying I will die if I ever leaked the secret. He killed a black fowl and gave me the liver and gizzard to eat at about 2 a.m., threatening that if I ever said it out, I will die like the fowl.
“But when I realised that it is a sin, I met a man of God to pray for me that God should forgive me and that I am ready to expose it since he forced me. There after I went to the church and told the congregation about the act. When he heard it, he threatened me by sending his younger brother and members of his gang after me. Since then I have been running.”
Other suspects paraded
The state Police Commissioner, Folusho Adebanjo, explained that among the suspects were two suspected cultists believed to have participated in the recent rival cult clash in the state and seven suspected pipeline vandals and operators of illegal refineries.
Others were two suspected robbers, from whom a Toyota Camry car they stole at gunpoint in Kaduna State was recovered; a suspect who was alleged to have demanded N20 million ransom from one Joseph with death threats and three others whom the police boss said were in possession of firearms without licence were also paraded.
There was also an alleged case of rape against two suspects who were said to have dragged a 20-year-old female victim into the bush. He also paraded five persons including a middle aged woman all from Ojah, Akoko-Edo Local Government council accused of burning to death, one Funmi Abiodun on allegation of being a witch responsible for the death of a relation.
According to him, “the war against criminality is relentlessly being waged against men of the underworld. The command is not leaving any stone unturned regarding crime and criminality in Edo State.
“This man who claimed to be a pastor defiled a young person. Another thing that is so common here and I don’t know why this defilement issue is so prevalent.
“I wonder if there is something about it. You see very old men defiling young girls who are five years, two years, and so on. We are not going to tolerate this and cases of rape are also increasing too but we will go all out to make sure that they are convicted.”
