Frustration all over the land. It will only get worst unless something drastic is done to shake Nigeria. This type of suicide is cowardice. Majority of the youth are pent up inside. Some cool of by taking to drugs; others by going the violent or dubious crime way and the least go suicidal. Only two groups of people can shake Nigeria and they are; various associations of elders from the various regions in the South and Middle belt through their decisions or brave youth from the aforementioned regions through their actions against the state. Apart from it, Nigeria will only get worst. Soon people will start to drop dead on the streets. You'll say I said this.

Fulanis think they are smart. Cause a problem and appear to provide a solution. Whereas the solution is the original intent. We can see through your strategy. My anger is that other regions are foot dragging with this fulani provocations. I warned several times but all I get is insults and bans from nairalanders and moderators. Nnamdi Kanu did the same and everyone hated him. Today, you all have seen it with your eyes yet the lethargy persists. I said it that since the Hausa/fulanis were able to demonize Igbos as the enemies of everyone to other people of Nigeria, I knew that Christianity has been weakened in the contraption. This is what Gideon Orkar saw before he led that coup... only if he had succeeded. See how one ethnic group are slaughtering people in their hundreds all around Nigeria yet other ethnic groups just stay on the defence wishing the fulanis will just stop. Wishes never solve problems! It's been proven that the Federal government led by Buhari fully supports the fulani militia deceptively called herdsmen in sacking communities by not arresting and prosecuting those murderers. He hasn't even issued any order to enforce the seizure of assault rifles from them but he wants to seize the licences and guns people use to protect themselves. The NCEF has spoken, socio-cultural groups have spoken, women groups have demonstrated half naked to vent their frustration yet nothing has been and the killings persist. What remains before WE ACT? Action is needed at this point. Form a uniform defensive force for your regions against fulani militia and term them with that name. Let the FG know that it has failed in it's paramount duty. This will force Buhari to act. Let all the affected state governors have a meeting and form local defence force against herdsmen. Stop being politically correct. Buhari himself isn't politically correct. Your people are dying and being traumatized from those sons of belial. ACT NOW!

Agent of confusion, we've seen you. Go tell your fulani people that their strategy isn't working. Igboland will resist all your techniques and Yorubaland will do the same. Coming here to set SE against SW wouldn't work. Afenifere condemned it in the strongest of terms yet you still found a way to involve Yorubas. You never mentioned the provocateur. Shame on you.

It's a usual thing now in the shithole. What's the worth of the blood of a Nigerian? I guess no worth! Boko haram kills them any how. Those that escape fulani herdsmen slaughter in their own ancestral land. The Nigerian Police continues from there gunning down any decent looking youth. Nigeria is now a nightmare turned real. This goes to show that leaving initial problems unattended doesn't solve it, rather it compounds it. We are watching.

Boycotting cow meat is very small compared to the task ahead. I suggest a sudden visit to the various forests where their camps have been located and the slaughtering of everything in there across the whole affected states to bring a national state of emergency. This will bring all these attacks and kidnappings to an abrute end. I know their spies are here on Nairaland but theirs little they can do if this is done within the same day. Enough is enough. The foolish southerners must stop mocking fellow southerners over the attacks in their domain. It doesn't solve the problem. Go for the fulani marauders and see how peace will return quickly.

Again, if it's necessary, of course.

See my problem with this our whole culture and tradition thing - it seems to serve little more than to give people reason to be angry about something. If he washed his dishes, would he suddenly drop dead or lose all his money.

A father thhat loves his kids would not put his ego ahead of their well-being. He would also listen to and do what they ask if they make their request with respect and politely decline if it's something he can't do. It's insecure men that would go into a rage and start screaming disrespect.
Ok. You see this phrase 'if necessary' is a big blanket covering all manner of events that can justify such requests but outside it, nothing justifies such stupidity. The story would have indicated what might have precipitated here request but it didn't. This shows that nothing prevented her from doing it and I want us to accept that nothing prevented her from doing it. In this scenario, what will you have done as her father?
I know you want to sound different from others but you have to understand that others considered that nothing hindered her from doing it or postponing the dishes as opposed to her asking outrightly.

This is just your friend and you still added 'If necessary'. Then, if it's ur 'aged' father would anything necessitate you to ask him do his dishes?

The article even said she asked. Not commanded. Not shouted. Asked.

How fragile is your ego that being asked to wash your own dish would make you stop paying your child's fees? From food she probably cooked and served him.

Unless there is more to this story than we are being told, then I do not see any wrongdoing on her part.
Wow! If your friend visits you, do you ask him to wash his dishes after eating?

Poor girl has really suffered. Small washing plate will make him to stop paying school fees? Such a little thing and he is taking such drastic actions. Was it really that deep? probably thinks she won't survive without him so feels he can do anyhow he pleases to her over little issues. That's why such a little thing warrants him to stop paying her school fees.
I'm glad she has her mum supporting her. I hope she does away with such a Draconian "father" the way he has done away with her and finds her way without him.. Topics like this come up yet people keep wondering nonstop why it seems mothers are celebrated more than fathers.

Ps
Can't believe people are supporting and making excuses for his actions , using feminism and "teaching her good manners" as an excuse and as their scapegoat.

Edit.
To everyone quoting me crying about this comment.
Tbh I think you guys are right. What he did is even small. He should even have disowned her to teach her a lesson.
After all. There is no such thing as a too harsh punishment.

Smh undecided
I'm really surprised at thoughts like yours. As a matter of fact, I'm appalled that an adult can reason like this. How can a healthy child still under the care of her father ask the same man to go wash his plates? Chai! It's the highest of disrespect. It shows that the mum with whom she's staying has failed to make her see the value of the father. This is the man's anger and I support him wholeheartedly. I still believe the man did it to send a message across and would revert back to initial setting if those corrections are noted. For your information, even the westerners we credit such behaviour with don't go to this level. Let stop making excuses for nonsense attitudes. If he was to excuse it today, it won't be surprising to hear the same girl pass her own dishes for him to wash another time. Men out there most stamp their feet immediately they notice such obnoxious manners. Those who refused to do so later regret it as they never get that opportunity again.

Sometimes when people talk about God's benevolence, I just feel like slapping all the teeth out of their mouth

I mean...what sort of God allows some humans come to this world to suffer so much pain and anguish while some who come to this world will never know lack or anguish till they die?

The same God who provided for the kind of life the Queen of England has lived on this earth...is he the same God that has sentenced this woman to to such destitution and pain? huh

Besides, after serious pondering...I think being born an African or Nigerian is a prison and hard labour sentence for a serious offence committed in a previous life sad ......If life will be this hard, why did God even bother allowing us to come here? huh ....and to think he will even have the temerity to send us to hell if we 'sin' huh....

Sometimes I think God, if there is one, should be tried for 'crimes against Humanity'....None of us asked to be born.....so if not for his own morbid amusement, why bring some humans to a life of so much pain and anguish? huh
Deep philosophical thoughts. No one chose to be born yet it's said that it's abomination to call it quit. Life's unfair. Meanwhile, let's just trudge and forge ahead until the lively air departs our nostrils.

Practically speaking, no Muslim president of Nigeria can islamise the country. Also no christian president can christianize us. It's just politicians looking to play on the intelligence of gullible Nigerians.

I think Buhari should always consider Nigerias best interest when forging and executing foreign policy. Why throw away a promising relationship with Morocco because of ordinary Shawarma republic. It doesn't seem smart to me, except maybe the FG is using this as a means to force the hand of Morocco into a more better deal for Nigeria. Just maybe.
I see naivety all over your comment. Even with the name James, I still doubt if you're a genuine Christian and not just one born into a Christian home.
Let me just give you a slight assignment. Go read up on the history of Lebanon and return to this thread. Most of Nairalanders never knew that Lebanon a couple of decades ago was a Christian dominated one but today, just the mention of it and every concludes it's a Muslim country. This is the route Nigeria is going at present. Outside Nigeria, people are starting to think Nigeria is a Muslim country. What confuses them is the dominant religion of the physical Nigerians they see which is Christianity. So a lot of them asks questions to that effect. You have to ask yourself why virtually all the top security positions are occupied by Muslims which have never been so. Do you know that no Christian has been the Chief Justice of Nigeria before? Continue in your naivety.

Anyway, I wholeheartedly support their quest for independence after watching a documentary on their struggle. They once fought a war with Morocco and it was technically a stalemate after which UN intervene promising them that a referendum would be convened which never happened till today. This was far back as the 1980s. Today, part of their land is under occupation by Morocco while the other part is free and governed by their people. I guess this president from the free side of Al Sahrawi country. The land though a desert is rich with mineral resources which Morocco wants to tap and also use the big size of it to enlarge Morocco as a country.

OKKO:
We have less than 5% of the Nsukka as Muslims.
We don't have any know mosque edifice in Nsukka. They are mainly Roman Catholics, and Anglican which together make up over 80% of the population.

Nsukka (Enugu North Senatorial district) is made up of 7 LGA out 19 LGAs we have in Enugu State. They constitute about 35% of the population of the State.

Enugu Ezike (Igbo Eze North LGA) has boarders with Igalas in Kogi and Idoma in Benue. it is about the largest LGA in Enugu State. She has cross border trade and marriage for over 300yrs.

One family in Amufie (Enugu Ezike) the Adukwu family brought Islam in the area through his business partners, the religion is poorly developed in the area since about 50yrs of it's introduction, some of the worshipers then has lost their children back to Catholic Church.

I grew up there, I schooled there.

So the term Nsukka is bigger than what you think.
Good one nwanna. Thanks for the exposition.

And what right does a foreign body have to label a tribe in another country a terror group?

This is a slap on the face of Nigeria. It doesn't matter if Fulani tribes men carry out attacks but we must know that Fulani is still an ethnic race in Nigeria and therefore, the attacks could be termed an intertribal conflict.
Except the Nigerian Government declares otherwise.

How would it feel if Nigeria helps America to label the crip and blood gang who carry our murder on daily basis a terror group?

@topic, Igbos certainly don't hate Tinubu but they dislike his style of politics. Threatening and attacking physically a whole ethnic group is not a joke. I'm not one of those who pretend as though the vituperations being poured out here does end here. It is real despite how subtle it appears. The last election brought that to fore and the present Iyaloja nonsense is making the matter worst. Let me ask you this question. Who's the Iyaloja at Alaba Rago where Hausas sell cattles? None right? Ok o. What about other Hausa dominated markets? None. We clearly see what you guys are doing and will continually remind you that as long as Nigeria remains a single country, you're not tolerating anyone neither are you doing Ndigbo a favour in any guise. You don't feed nor cloth any Igbo man. We're not exempted from paying tax, so how are you tolerating a supposed fellow compatriot? That word tolerating is very insulting to say the least. We've always said it that when you support Biafra and it is established, any Igbo man you see in your land, treat him as you seem fit while we shall reciprocate to any of your kind found among us simple. Everyday you guys keep on insulting Ndigbo simply because we lost an uneven war. You feel we should bend with cap in hand begging all over Nigeria in gratitude for being left alive. That's a despicable thought! It's either you accept the fact that we are equal citizens in the present Nigeria and should enjoy the rights that come with it or agree to our secession goal and have the full right to use the word 'tolerating' when referring to us thereafter. Similar to how Danjuma and Co went to UK to wail and yet dragged igbo and the Biafra in his mouth (ironically, a man significant during the war shamelessly trying to push blame), the same too na the same.

Middle belter, the Hausa/Fulani did not make you people do Jack shit towards Igbo. I don't recall reading anywhere where it stated Hausa/fulani forced you people to kill Igbos when they were leaving the North, you people did that shit out of your own blood thirsty free will. It's shameless blaming the North for YOUR ACTIONS as well as accusing them off being responsible for Igbo looking at una with disdain. After all, when Nnamdi Kanu included the igbo parts of Benue to Biafra, emphasis on just the Igbo parts only oooo, you lots opened your diseased mouth insulting Igbos left and right as if he included you motherfuckers. Was it Arewa that forced una or decieve una to display that bigotry?

Stop mentioning Igbos in una nonsense cause let's be real, if the Fulanis aren't slaughtering una like chickens, you lots won't be here wailing about then decieving una and causing hatred between Igbos and una. You lots will be proud of your actions prior and during the war as you were prior to your Karma came to play. Shut the Bleep up and stop mentioning Igbos in una nonsense. Wail to whoever but keep Igbos out of it. We no send una
Lol. The mentioning of Ndigbo is simply important because one can never overlook our strategic position in Nigeria. The middle belts elites know this but the majority of their people don't. One common factor between us and them is Christianity which actually gives them comfort in the overwhelming cloud of Islamism pervasive in the north. The Yorubas aren't that present (strategic)under this circumstance. The day Ndigbo leave the whole northern Nigeria, it would seem the world has come to an end for the middle belt. Now instead for them to support Ndigbo in some instances to balance Nigeria religiously, they rather join the hausa/fulanis to oppress Ndigbo. It's only our resiliency that's making them not understand what we're saying all these years. Today, the dagger has faced them and they are crying. In the write up, you can see where he alleged that Ndigbo are too selfish for comfort. They somewhat prefer those that oppress them to those to push them extra hard for success. Same problem some smaller tribes in the Niger Delta have. Anyway, trouble has come and it needs to be tackled. We have made our expectations known to all. Let other ethnic nationalities cry out too. It's good for the ministry.
