Good job!! Im very proud of you!

In the 1800s communities on the coast were concentrated on river banks and estuaries. They commanded trade and collected levies. Ijaws were the middlemen and brokers between coastal people and the hinterland. The Chiefs at the coast had large population of Ibo slaves who could not sail because the trade in human cargoes had been banned. Many were retained as domestic slaves and or engaged in errands up and down river to distant villages trading in oil on their master behalf.

So while the Chiefs at coast were entering into diplomatic treaty with the crown, Iboland was an asset of Royal Niger Company which held rights to the territory. Iboland had no treaty with anybody, the territory was purchased by Britain.

Up to 1890 Ibo was a minority. After it was bought by crown and joined to the independent kingdoms of coastal Chiefs Iboland and its people remained minority in the protectorate. In 1906 when the Colony and the Protectorate were merged, Calabar was Capital....Ibo remained minority. In fact Ibo was still minority in 1914 when North and South merged and became Nigeria.

So how, between 1914 and 1945, did Ibo become a majority?

It happened with the help of christian missionaries.

Before British Governors were posted to Nigeria they usually have served tours in India, Kenya, Palestine, Ethiopia....and these places typically speak one language, sometimes two...but no more. This made administration very easy for whites.

Nigeria was a nightmare! Every village had a different language from next. So they aggregated communities and cultures.

Any land Hausa was spoken, whether they were Hausa people or not...were branded as Hausa North. Its why places like Benue, Kwara and Kogi were placed in North and the capital moved from Lokoja to Kaduna. Any place where Ibo was spoken was tagged Iboland. Hence why Rivers, Cross River, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom were lumped to East...and the capital placed in Enugu, instead of the old capital in Calabar. They took rulership from the independent kingdoms they had treaty with and then created phantom kingdoms headed by warrant officers to become the go between white man and the people of Eastern Region.

This factor I described above was the political one.

There was a punitive one.
Oba of Benin was regarded the crown over all lands from Bini to Calabar. This is why after Oba Ovorhamwen was exiled he was taken to old capital in Calabar. They deposed him from throne but left him in his domain and under the caretaker of a British administrator. Their own bias and false estimation of Oba of Benin's territorial domain on the coast came from written journals of exagerrators like Olfert Dapper, a Dutch writer. True, Oba had an extensive stretch which included all way to Onitsha but its hinterland.

So why wasn't Edo language the majority, since they were the origin of all monarchs hinterland from Bini and everything inclusive to Onitsha?

Now, not only did they punish the coastal chiefs and hinterland chiefs but they now promoted a slave stock and gave it majority.

You follow me so far?

You might wonder why I spoke about North and East but left out Yoruba.

Yoruba in fact pioneered language aggregation. Bishop Crowther had many patents to his name and for which his descendants ought to reopen for recognition and proprietary rights.

Bishop Crowther had worked in mid-1800s and standardized Yoruba to the Ibadan lexicon. Therefore all lands that spoke a dialect of Yoruba naturally coalesced into a commonwealth ruled by same dynastic origin. So Yoruba was a natural identity that did not suffer the misplaced cultural origin or heirarchies suffered in North and East. The only exception was Benin, whose Oba was persuaded by Ibos under him to rebel against Western region and demand his independence. Soon as he succedded getting Mid Western region their land grabbing ambition accelerated to 5th gear. They did not let him rest until forcefully they occupied his kingdom, planted a flag and declared it domain of biafra.

All Obas were grouped West, all Emirs and Sarkis were grouped North.

If Bishop Crowther had not worked on uniting Yoruba under one grouping, we would have ended with similar fate as they now have in North.

Gowon broke the mixup in East when he created COR and had he not declared No Victor, No Vanquish at end of war, Ibo would have gone back to being a minority. Rivers State was already in that direction to reduce Ibo back to its slavery status. Gowon saved the day. Ibo must forever give him a hero's salute.

There is another factor that made Ibo majority in East. Christian missionaries came after British administrators. They considered Bishop Crowther's work a major accomplishment. Missionary work is marketed on the notion that Southern Nigeria is a paganland. So there is legitimate reason to evangelize and win heathens for the Church. The missionaries were dying from disease. So a quick and fast approach is to ignore dialect and ignore culture ....wherever you have a widespread use the language to quickly penetrate and teach cathechism.

Bishop Crowther's son headed the Niger Delta Church. He discovered that Ibos were up and down the river. Made sense....they were in large population during slave trade, and as messengers and menial laborers to wealthy Ijaws and Kalabaris they had settled along river banks during oil palm trade and some of them even became business owners.

Bishop Crowther Jnr found the original Ibo is in Owerri area. Other Ibo speaking areas had variants that were not interchangeable and made understanding difficult between Ibo communities. At river banks however you find people who because of trade up and down water and into different lands spoke variations and therefore were recruited as interpreters by church. This is how Isuama Ibo was standardised by Crowther. Missionaries took his work and used it to teach cathechism. Hence helping to even spread the language deeper past its cultural homeland. If you wanted to attend school you learnt bible in Ibo. If you wanted to be favored by missionaries and colonial administrators you profess Jesus. So ignorantly the missionaries helped Ibo spread into non-Ibo cultures in their ambition to win christian converts.

These three factors
1- political expediency for indirect rule
2- punitive action against Benin and coastal Chiefs
3- missionary ambition to eradicate paganism

.....is why Ibo, a minority in 1914, has become majority by 1945.

Rivers State came close to returning them to minority, but for Gowon declaring No Victor, No Vanquished!

Save this and put in your back pocket as weapon to teach landgrabbers lesson.

I have more than this...but I cant say it all here. I have to reserve and maintain monopoly on the background and root of Ibo in this country.

Na small small....Ibo go learn to humble itself, by fire by force. They have the sharp mouth...we have the historical blade. We go see who sabi slice and cut pass.
I've always known that the brain behind this thread is a Yoruba and the aim is Biafra. Cletus77 maybe Annang like he claimed but I believed he was heavily motivated by a Yoruba to open up such a thread so as to create animosity between Igbos and Akwa Ibomites. We've always been a United people and where we disagree among ourselves it doesn't usually descend into mortal violence. The Yorubas always try the much they can to hem Igbos at all sides by accusing us of land grabbing and further instigating neighbouring tribes against us. I wish all Igbos can really understand this so we could face them squarely and place mines for them too.
I did state that there were some Igbo communities in Akwa Ibom but I couldn't back it up with evidence because I couldn't find it again. Thankfully, 'Ikechunna' brought them out. I can faintly remember that Ohaobu community. There was a time their traditional leader one Eze was complaining of neglect. That's all I remembered.
See the rubbish 'MetaPhysical' posted against Ndigbo. See how he's twisting history to push an insulting narrative. The rabid Igbo hater said Igboland was purchased by the Royal Niger Company but didn't tell us who they bought it from. He said the coastal communities had written agreements with the European colonists but Igbos had none but was so foolish to notice that Igbos stood better chance at exerting their freedom anytime because they never signed any binding documents they never had any input in their formation. It was our hospitality and peaceful nature that made it easy for the Royal Niger Company to succeed in our domain without need for deceptive treatise. It was just do your thing and go. Of all the kings that troubled Europeans in the whole Southern Nigeria, after the Oba of Benin, it was an Igbo king- Jaja of Opobo. Which Yoruba Oba was a known resistance to the British? Rubbish! This critter called Igbos minority who rose to prominence but failed to realize that the 'live and let's live' mantra of Igbos is what actually pushed our language farther than our area. Igbos never sought to dominate anyone. Just come and do your thing was our way of life. No one conquered us. The worst that happened to some of us was when a warring neighbouring tribe tries to be over ambitious and attacks part of Igboland. They may succeed at the beginning but will soon lose steam and be pushed back or forced to acculturate. That's what happened to both the Benin and Igala invaders in the northern and north western parts of our land. Non of our land was taken from us and renamed. Igbos were never land grabbers and still aren't land grabbers. If your land is favourable to us, we simply buy them off. We have no time to forcefully take things from people. Our cosmological beliefs had equipped us to succeed in our business endeavours which enables us to purchase want we desire.
Finally, Ndigbo are a great people who I believe a presently passing through a formative crucible meant to bring out the best in us. Our nation will be renowned world over when we establish Biafra. Non of the riff raffs from Nigeria can stop it. You can continue with the hatred - it makes us stronger and reinforces our resolve.

There's an indigenous Igbo communities in Akwa Ibom state. I've read about that on the newspapers not quite long ago. The title of their traditional ruler is 'Eze' and his name was Igbo. I'll google it again.

OP asked a simple question which we can just use to while away time. Our main goal is to leave the shit hole. Regional alliances can be built over time. The evil hearted men here who think other West African countries hate Igbos the way they do are only jokers. The emergence of Biafra will expose the true nature of Nigeria as a feather weight fighter in the region. Ghana is at present the most respected country in West Africa and it's not gonna change any sooner. We in Biafra will just fly over their airspace and land in other friendly countries in West Africa. They can plant mines and all sort of weapons at the boundary we share with them. They can't do more than that. Hateful bunch!
I won't elaborate on our choice for now. Operation leave the shit hole first.

Well this is one man's opinion but I know that a lot of those ones here on Nairaland mocking IPOB for pushing the Biafran restoration will one day come to us cap in hand to beg for association. It will happen as we gather momentum and it becomes clear that our mission has become fruitful. Unfortunately, we will never accept them because it's suicidal aligning with a snake. They don't worth it. The best bet for them is to seek Oduduwa Republic. My wish for them is to remain in Nigeria with the Hausa/Fulanis they seem to love so much. They can support the creation of Biafra today so we can equally support them in their future quest for Oduduwa. Biafra is sacrosanct!

Is an average South African lazy? YES! That said, I do not support to name callings we throw at each other.
To the main story, the author is very correct. If Nigerian government had got their acts right, only few Nigerians will want to stay in SA. If you're hardworking in SA you definitely will be fine because lots of infrastructures are in place to aid you. As for the criminal elements from Nigeria, only the SA government can stop them unfortunately, the average SA society sort of embrace criminality. Drugs, prostitution and fraud is endemic there. Nigerians didn't start any of those there. The major problem is that the criminals from Nigeria are loud and uncouth. Their indiscretions are their undoing. If the SA police will really do their job, most of these criminals will be forced to adjust or leave SA. That said, SA is a beautiful country with lots of potentials if a reasonable government comes into power.

Unlike a woman who simply is, a man must become. And every man thinks of himself as the perfect embodiment of the term "man". It's what makes him wake up and ready to slay dragons. It is his primary source of motivation.

"The male ego" is simply the intrinsic need to feel like kings (even if he's not) and hurting a man's ego is simply reminding him that he is no king (that they're greater men) and denying him recognition for his achievements in turn starving him of the highest validation he needs.

If he can't be recognised for being "THE MAN". Then he is no man at all.
You captured the topic philosophically. You just summarized a man's ego in the most basic way. Most men have to suppress their ego to fit into lots of positions else it would be war everywhere. The animal kingdom clearly exposes the male ego in full display and surprisingly balances the ecosystem but humans have had to create laws to put lots of men in check. While might is right still rules in the animal kingdom, it doesn't in the human kingdom. Rather, natural selection in the human kingdom has seen other survival instincts at play. This is where politics and intelligence come in to galvanize the law suppressed ego of men. The more a man is politically inclined; the more intelligent he is, the more likely he maximizes his ego.

Before it was believed that the Hausa/Fulani are the majority tribe in Nigeria followed by Yoruba then Igbos, Efik/Ibibio before Ijaws cam fifth.

It was during the regime of Goodluck Jonathan that they start counting only single ethnic group which put the Ijaws fourth and Ibibio fifth after Efik where saperated from Ibibio. I wander why Nigeria is still recognizing the Hausa/Fulani as a single ethnic group who are very different both in languages and occupations, we all know that Fulanis are majorly headsmem and they speaks fulfulde whether in Nigeria, Sudan, or Niger
While Hausa's are majorly farmers and they speak hausa. Yoruba's are the second largest ethnic group in Nigeria so taking away Fulani from Hausa will make the Yorubas the largest ethnic group according to population follows by
Hausa then Igbos, Ijaws, Ibibios, Fulanis etc. Is it the that the Yorubas are so timid that they don't want to take their rightful position as the no. 1 Single ethnic group in Nigeria?
All record by the British colonialists have always put Igbo population above that of the Yorubas so I don't know where you're getting your Igbo being third in population. Until a credible census bearing ethnic groups is done, no one can say for now exactly who is what. Forget population size and focus on the development of your people.

THE JEWS WHO STABBED GERMANY IN THE BACK
Seventy-nine years after Kristallnacht, ‘A Deadly Legacy,’ a new history of German Jewish soldiers during World War I, traces the origins of the European scapegoating that would engulf the continent some years later

“Once said to be lost, it was,” Charles Krauthammer wrote in 2004 in a New Republic article in which he fingered Walter Cronkite, “the voice of the establishment,” as the culprit behind America’s defeat in Vietnam. While the Vietnam stab-in-the-back argument is now largely dead, the idea persisted for decades that America could have won the war if only the military hadn’t had its hands tied by politicians, or the media hadn’t been so downbeat, or the hippies hadn’t turned the country into a clown circus. This notion was born from sheer bewilderment: America had never lost a war, the myth-making went, so someone, somewhere must have decided we weren’t going to win.

A similar bewilderment afflicted Germany at the end of World War I. The first stab-in-the-back story—Dolchstoss in German—happened when the German army returned home in defeat in November 1918. The reason for their surrender was obscure to many Germans: the enemy had never touched German soil, and both at the beginning and the end of the war—at least according to German newspapers—the Kaiser’s forces appeared to be winning. So there was only one possible explanation: Germany had been betrayed by Socialists and (you guessed it) Jews, 1918’s equivalent of the traitorous Sixties counterculture.

Historians have often remembered that right-wing Germans let their Jewish compatriots take the rap for Germany’s defeat and for the shame of Versailles’ punitive peace. They have been less inclined to remember that for most of the war German Jews and gentiles stood proudly together in defense of their country. Jews welcomed the war as a fight for justice, freedom and, most important of all, German culture.

Gertrud Kantorowicz wrote in August 1914, when the conflict broke out, that “the war itself is pure greatness … my being relates to Germany as a life’s breath relates to the body out of which it arises.” Gertrud was the cousin of the historian Ernst Kantorowicz, who earned the Iron Cross on the Western front and after the war joined the Freikorps, the right wing militia that battled Communists and Socialists in the streets of German cities. Both of them were Jews, and proud Germans.

Ernst and Gertrud Kantorowicz were typical of German Jews, Tim Grady demonstrates in his new book A Deadly Legacy: German Jews and the Great War. They were passionate nationalists, as völkisch as you could get. Like other Germans, they celebrated the outbreak of war as a momentous chance for national renewal. The late historian Fritz Stern remarked that the passionate German response to the war went beyond mere patriotism. Many intellectuals, especially, saw the guns of August as a triumphant release from dead-end bourgeois culture, a call to a new nobility and manliness.

In summer 1914, during the first frenzy of battle, even German Zionists declared that there was “no difference” between Jews and other Germans. Martin Buber wrote enthusiastically in August, “Never has the concept of the Volk been such a reality to me than during these last weeks.” The Jewish politician Ludwig Haas remarked that Russia, when it entered the war, had committed “the greatest crime in world history.” Never mind that Germany had in effect set off hostilities by giving a green light to Austria-Hungary’s attack on Serbia. Germans were eager to cast their fatherland as the victim of France, England and, most of all, Russia.

Russia had a deep meaning for Jews worldwide: it was their oppressor, their enemy. And so for many German Jews WWI became a holy war against Russia. The Zionist Jüdische Rundschau proclaimed that Germany was fighting “to free Russia and the world from unprecedented tyranny.” Jewish artists like Max Liebermann drew fierce caricatures of the bloodthirsty, slobbering Russian beast.

German Jews were prominent supporters of the army’s efforts to colonize the East. The territory won from Russia, they argued, properly belonged to Germany. Since the Ostjuden spoke Yiddish, a dialect of German, they were Germany’s racial compatriots.

Not that German Jewish soldiers felt a kinship with Russian Jews: the invaders were often appalled by the squalor of shtetl existence. These were exotic foreigners, alien to German Jewish culture. When refugee Jews from the East began flooding into Germany, Grady remarks, German Jews mostly recoiled from them instead of welcoming them with open arms. Grady quotes Victor Klemperer’s comment about eastern Jews: he did not “belong to these people,” Klemperer wrote: “I thanked my creator that I was German.” In spite of this cultural friction, Eastern Jews mostly welcomed the Germans who had delivered them from Russian rule.

When the Germans marched through Belgium in 1914, the Allies were quick to promote tales of German beastliness: the Belgian baby speared on a Hun’s bayonet was an image guaranteed to rouse indignation. One French journalist claimed that the Kaiser’s troops had cut off the hands of 4,000 children. Faced with such made-up atrocities, German Jews, like other Germans, leaped to the defense of their nation’s soldiers. They also went on the attack, inventing atrocities of their own. The Jewish writer Arnold Zweig published a short story about a Belgian farmer who cuts the throats of three peaceful German soldiers, then butchers them and feeds them to his pigs. In October 1914 the Jewish playwright Ludwig Fulda drafted a petition claiming that Germany had not destroyed “the life and property of a single Belgian citizen”; and he added, “We shall fight this war to the very end as a cultured people to whom the legacy of Goethe, Beethoven and Kant is as sacred as hearth and home.”

Fulda was mistaken in his defense of Germany’s soldiers. Although the German army didn’t cut off hands or shish-kebab babies, they did often murder Belgian prisoners and civilians, as the historian Max Hastings has shown. “How could [German soldiers] expect to be shot at from windows and cellars?” the Kölnische Zeitung asked in 1914, tacitly admitting that Germany had broken the rules of war. Out of self-defense the Kaiser’s troops had to “adopt punitive measures, burn houses, execute civilians,” the newspaper concluded.

In August 1914 the German army was riding high, and Berlin was convinced that the fighting would soon be over. Then came the stumbling block of the Marne in September, which stopped Germany’s advance and turned the war into an excruciating game of attrition. Now Germany was fighting on two fronts, cheated of its fantasy about quickly defeating France. The horrendous specter of trench warfare arose, and with it the desire for new weapons that would deal the enemy a decisive blow.

Grady recounts the well-known story of the German Jew Fritz Haber, the Nobel Prize winner and inventor of chemical weapons. Shortly after the Germans first used Haber’s chlorine gas in defiance of the Geneva Convention in April 1915, Haber’s wife committed suicide; undeterred, he traveled to the eastern front the next day to oversee more gas attacks. Haber’s godson Fritz Stern wrote that Haber was “German in every fibre of his being, in his restless, thorough striving … in his very soul and spirit.”

Unlike African-Americans in the American army, German Jews were integrated into their country’s forces, and anti-Jewish insults were rare. Grady writes that the Bavarian List regiment, “which counted fifty-nine German Jews as well as a young Adolf Hitler, showed few signs of harbouring any form of anti-Semitic spirit.” Rabbis served the religious needs of Germany’s Jewish soldiers and, military circumstances permitting, they were allowed to return home for Jewish holidays. Kaiser Wilhelm had decided that Jews could become officers, and so they did, though the higher-ups were sometimes reluctant to promote them.

But as the war ground relentlessly on, anti-Semitic rumors started circulating among the German people: Jews were shirkers, they were profiting from the war rather than fighting in it. The Wehrmacht gave in to the anti-Semitic canard with the census of November 1916, designed to find out how many Jews were serving at the front. The military insisted, implausibly, that the census had no anti-Semitic intent. Jews, who were fighting and dying for Germany like any other Germans, were disheartened.

Grady writes that Jewish and non-Jewish soldiers fought together on the German front lines with very little tension. But on the home front, the imaginary Jew was culpable for Germany’s loss.

In January 1918, strikes broke out across Germany; workers demanded peace, more food and more democracy. Two prominent Jews, Hugo Haase and Kurt Eisner, were among the leaders of the strikes. Afraid of a revolution like the Bolsheviks’ in Russia, the government quickly arrested the striking workers—and sent many of them to the front. In Berlin, flyers were handed around blaming the Jews for the uprising, though most Jews—and most soldiers—had little sympathy for the strikers. One Jewish newspaper, the Allgemeine Zeitung des Judentums, proclaimed that the strikers had “weaken[ed] the army’s military clout” and added that they were “stabbing the frontline army in the back.” Jewish writers, like other Germans, freely employed the fatal figure of speech.

The last gasp of Germany’s wartime ambition occurred in the spring of 1918. The treaty of Brest-Litovsk had awarded a huge chunk of Russian territory to Germany; the war in the East was over. In the West, German forces under General Ludendorff pushed the British and French armies back thirty-seven miles, but their advance cost half a million casualties. The French counterattacked in the summer, and by September the jig was up. Ludendorff, a broken man, admitted privately that “victory is out of the question,” but the German public still found defeat unimaginable. When news of the armistice broke in November, Joseph Levy, an orthodox Frankfurt cantor who led services in full military uniform, was like most Germans deeply shocked. The fatherland, he lamented, was “lost.” But who had lost it?

The main gift of Grady’s meticulously researched book is its lesson about how poisonous and long-lasting a stab-in-the-back legend can be, and what damage it can do to a country. In 1922 Weimar foreign minister Walter Rathenau, who had put Germany’s economy on a war footing in late 1914, was nicknamed “Gottverfluchte Judensau” (“goddamned Jewish pig”) and killed in the streets. Rathenau had just signed the Treaty of Rapallo with the Soviets, which gave up Germany’s land claims from WWI. A few years later, the idea of Jewish betrayal during and after the war paved the way for a political party that saw Jews as not merely traitors, but a poisonous, subhuman riff-raff.

Stern in his book about the intellectual roots of Nazism, The Politics of Cultural Despair, wrote that “No single idea played so powerful and so pernicious a role in postwar Germany as the notion that an undefeated army had voluntarily laid down its arms in the hope of a just peace. Because of it, Germans were able to feel that the Allies had tricked, not defeated them,” and that sinister elements of German society had aided this betrayal: “socialists, liberals, and Jews.”

The Weimar republic had been “fathered by traitors.” And so when the republic was swept away by the Nazis, Germans swallowed their reservations. They were certain that, whatever Hitler’s shortcomings, at least he would never double-cross them and lead their homeland to ruin.

JEWS WERE KEY ADVISORS of the Versailles Treaty of 1919 which carved Germany into pieces just after WWI.
Rabbi Stephen Wise advised President Wilson about the impending treaty before Wilson left America for the Versailles peace conference. The Jew Bernard Baruch advised Wilson at the conference. British Prime Minister Lloyd George was advised by the Jew Phil Sassoon. French leader Georges Clemenceau was advised by his Jewish Interior Minister Georges Mandel aka Louis Rothschild.
Representing the American banking interests was Paul Warburg, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve. His brother, Max Warburg, the head of the German banking firm of Warburg and Company, was there as a representative of Germany.
By the Treaty of Versailles the German people were thoroughly humiliated. The old Austrian Empire was balkanized and divided up into allotments satisfying the political intrigues of the architects of the Treaty. The Weimar government was forced upon the German nation and the communist Jewish leaders Rosa Luxembourg and Karl Leibknecht were agitating for revolution.
The German people were not unaware that the Jewish role in the Bolshevik Revolution threatened their own national life. The historian Ernst Nolte and several other notable historians have argued that the Jewish role in the Bolshevik Revolution was an important cause in Germany’s backlash against the Jews.
The Weimar government was comprised of many Jews. From the outset the Weimer government was criticized by ordinary Germans who were of the opinion that the Weimer government was allied with international Jewish bankers in signing the hated Versailles Treaty.
The famous stab-in-the-back legend soon began to circulate which rightly asserted that Germany had won the war in 1914, but had been betrayed by Jews who struck a deal with Britain to bring America into the war in exchange for the deed to Palestine.
Middle class voters soon became disillusioned with the Weimar government. Weimar’s constitution was written by the Jew, Hugo Preuss. The Jews under the Weimer Republic formed leftist institutions such as the Frankfurt School. Jews were theater producers, newspaper owners, poets, artists, and writers in the Weimar Republic.
These are serious allegations that I have to seriously investigate. I do know that the Versailles Treaty was chiefly why Hitler was able to rally the entire German nation to war but to insinuate that Jews were behind it is another thing entirely. For now I won't argue with you. I'll research on it.

Correction...

Igbos are not third largest ethnic group in Nigeria.

https://www.nairaland.com/4848276/cia-revision-nigerias-ethnic-religious

Again, Igbos are not limited to SE
Exactly what I wanted to point out. Every Igbo person must always watch out and correct the wrong narrative some evil elements are projecting of recent against us. We are not the third largest and never limited to the SE region alone. We must never gloss over it wherever we see such lies. It's s deliberate attempt at reducing our capacity by our enemies. No census bearing ethnic groups have been conducted in Nigeria of recent. As for the regions Igbos occupy as indigenes, these are where we are found: chiefly in SE, great numbers in SS and small amounts in NC( middle belt).

Are you serious? I thought you were busy insulting Ndigbo and IPOB. Why not use your sophistication to stop them? Time is running out and we pity no one swallowed by the demons he has consistently supported in oppressing others. We are watching.

You can repeat this a million time and I will always respond same number of times I don't hate well-adjusted Igbos getting on with their lives. Just insincere Igbos like you disturbing the peace of Nigeria. IPOB is proscribed. IF they convene then the government has the right to quash them. Zakzaky, sharing the same religion with PMB, was not spared because him and his IMN movement are the real elements who want to Islamise Nigeria with violence and the help of terror-loving Moslem nation like Iran yet it is Buhari you Igbos will accuse of an Islamisation agenda to begin carrying banners for the dangerous Zakzaky to be freed. That is how much some of you hate Nigeriaa and PMB you are now campaigning for your future killers and enemies.

They seize serious hauls of arms always , destined for militant mullahs and usually originating from Iran or other Moslem nation, you guys have nothing to say about this. Countries like Iran want to cause problem on our soil using the likes of Zakzaky to actualise their fundamentalist beliefs and you Biafran saboteurs will be backing them and clamouring for the likes of Zakzaky, Kanu, Sowore et al to do as they please merely because you hate PMB and APC. God will disgrace you all.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-11765935
See how I boldly confronted you with facts you can't deny but you avoided it and rather focus on IMN. I won't dwell on them because everyone knows what is right and wrong. Extrajudicial killings of MIN is bad and condemnable by all reasonable people, so that leaves your state of mind in doubt. IPOB has told everyone that the present man in Aso Rock is an impostor. You can take that up with them in the court to do a great damage to their credibility. I challenge you again to write to Interpol and request the arrest of a person your government called a terrorist. If you don't then shame on you.
It's laughable how you used the term 'adjusted Igbos. Lol. Adjusted to accept the enslavement you and your likes want to force on Ndigbo? It can never work. We are too great for that. See how useless your Nigeria has become! Capital of poverty and insecurity despite not officially in war. See your infrastructures- decrepit and desolate. Are you not ashamed? Well, I leave you with this. Biafra will come. You and your likes will remain in Nigeria and any Igbo man who accepts the way Igbos are treated in this Nigeria, may he not see Biafra. IPOB as a group doesn't hate anyone but rather disagrees with the debasing treatment met on Igbos and other nationalities of Biafra and her neighbours of like mind. This evil Nigeria will either give way for a better one where everyone has equal rights or she's disintegrated in any in any way possible. Continue to stew in your hate while we continue our restoration goal. Time shall tell who's justified.

You guys are cretins and emotional illiterates always ignorant of the facts or dismissive of them because doing such suits you. The court has revoked Kanu's bail and declared him wanted. Yes he is wanted for contempt of court as he has not shown up to stand trial. Even before the formal announcement of the revocation of Kanu's bail the government has the authority to act on aspect of Kanu's behaviour that constitute a threat to the national security of Nigeria. The army sought to arrest Kanu because of the risk to national security his activities and that of his proscribed IPOB group posed to Nigeria.

You bigots keep forgetting that IPOB is a proscribed and illegal secessionist group that must not convene formally anywhere in Nigeria. You keep defending their defiance of democratic authority Nigerians gave their mandate to. You won't condemn IPOB yet you save your venom for the FG that must move against a proscribed group or risk looking like a toothless bulldog every terrorist and militia group can rise against at ease. I hope you Biafrans and IPOBians know that Kanu's trial for treason is continuing in his absence? I will let you lawless folks guess his sentence if found guilty. We know you lawless people don't accept that actions have consequences but Kanu will certainly be made aware of that simple consideration.

https://todaypoliticsng.com/why-court-revoked-nnamdi-kanus-bail-ordered-arrest/
Posterity will not be kind to you because of your pure hatred of a people who are rightly fighting for their freedom. You always mention IPOB as a proscribed group by your useless government yet you haven't seen it fit to relate with Interpol to arrest Kanu who is walking freely all over the world. Is it shameful to you and your government? Fulani herdsmen regarded by international security organizations as the fourth deadliest terrorist group is operating freely and with the backing of your government till date is never your concern. Thousands have been killed and hundreds of thousands displaced by these same group but it doesn't worry you only IPOB- a non violent secessionist group is your headache. You deserve to be killed by the herdsmen. Today, your government is set to settle these terrorists herdsmen on lands forcefully taken from citizens and they are even including their foreign brothers to come partake of the loot but you and your children are never catered for. In fact, your taxes will foot the bills. Lol. You and your likes deserve such and even worst. IPOB is a formidable group renowned the world over and there's nothing you can do about it.
Nnamdi Kanu has responded brilliantly to all your accusations of him running away. He will still return to Biafraland at the right time. Hopefully, you will be hear it in ICU where you will be struggling to live occasioned by the mortal injuries inflicted on you by fulani herdsmen. We are watching.

First off I am not a Fulani. I am a Niger Deltan Muslim. I do not care much for Buhari. But I see in the Fulani the same thing that all good men see in Bedouins and other true inhabitants of the earth. The wodaabe fulani say that 'nobody owns the earth' and they carry themselves as such.

There's nothing any tribe can do about it. They will perish. The military leadership structure is firmly pro Fulani and northeastern. Nigeria might very well be a promised land. A true Dar al-Islam. You will learn to behave by force.
Shege dan fulani! Lol. Don't hide under Niger Delta, come open with your origin. Perhaps there's a force backing the fulanis to do any how they wish in Nigeria and go away with it. Fulani herdsmen from Chad, Niger to benefit from FG’s livestock plan

Fulani herdsmen from Chad, Niger and other neighbouring countries will benefit from the National Livestock Transformation Plan, the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has said.

Mohammed, who was a guest on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, said since Fulani herdsmen are nomadic, it would be inappropriate to deprive them from benefitting from the livestock plan just because they are not from Nigeria.

The initiative will be 80 per cent funded by the Federal Government while the states would provide 20 per cent counterpart funding and the grazing land.

The governor, whose state is among those that will be part of the initiative, said Fulani exist in many countries across Africa and share a brotherhood which transcends boundaries.

When asked how the government would ensure that only Nigerians benefit from the livestock plan, Mohammed said, “I think there is a lot of mistrust and misconception as regards the Fulani man. The Fulani man is a global or African person. He moves from The Gambia to Senegal and his nationality is Fulani.

“As a person I may have my relations in Cameroon but they are also Fulani. I am a Fulani man from my maternal side, we will just have to take this as our own heritage, something that is African. So we cannot just close our borders and say the Fulani man is just a Nigerian.

“In most cases, the crisis is precipitated by those outside Nigeria. When there is a reprisal, it is not the Fulani man within Nigeria that causes it. It is that culture of getting revenge which is embedded in the traditional Fulani man that attracts reprisal.”

When asked if it was right to allow foreigners to benefit from Nigerian taxpayers’ money, the governor said it was proper.

He said Fulani don’t actually have one single nationality since they are nomadic in nature.

Mohammed said “We are already accommodating them. Do you delineate and really know who is not a Nigerian Fulani man?

“They are all Nigerians because their identity, their citizenship is Nigerian even though they have relatives from all over the world. So, presumably they are Nigerians because they move all over and have relations all over. That is why our population in Nigeria is fluid.”

When asked if there would be any form of documentation for the Fulani herdsmen coming into Nigeria from other countries, the governor said, “Yes. This will give Nigeria the opportunity of having proper documentation and knowing the demography because the Fulani man settles anywhere he can feed his cattle.”

The livestock plan which is being championed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo seeks to put herdsmen and their livestock in designated colonies which will give them the opportunity of exploiting the livestock value chain.

While many northern states have embraced it, their southern counterparts have rejected it.
Lol. I knew this all along. Fulani treat them any how you want. They don't deserve pity. Evil contraption with foolish citizens.

God forbid such an abomination. The fulanis have bit more than they can chew. As long as a steady supply of weapons and armaments are guaranteed, to hell with the demons.

My take on the subject in discuss is purely on the illusion of thinking that the western world actually cares about proffering a lasting solution towards a chaos they deliberately orchestrated.

As for every other assertions you made, they are all subject to conjectures and refutation depending on the school of thought an individual subscribes to and it has nothing to do with me being igbo or not simply because I differ with you on methodology on how to go about the age long issue's going on in Nigeria.

I have consistently maintained for over a decade on this platform that the solution to the issues bedeviling Nigeria is to enforce the absolute practices of true federalism and all these crap of state governors running to Abuja to sheepishly prostrate to the president becomes irrelevant because the states won't be at the mercy of the central government anymore.

I leave in a society where I'm yet to see a state governor going to DC to go visit the president for allocation or for one favor or the other and until such is replicated in Nigeria, the country won't move an inch towards making meaningful progress.
Conjectures or whatever you call them is the only reality here. If you truly love progress, you would have devoted time to study the peculiar state of Nigeria and discover what is possible and what isn't. The true federalism you mentioned can only be entrenched by a southerner. No northerner will do that and not even anyone from the middle belt. Now, with this well understood, do you see the southerners coming together and ensuring the true federalism through whichever way? Personally I don't. This is what informed our resolve on establishing Biafra. We're not naive enough to think that the powers that be love us that much to wade in and stop it. The first Biafran war taught us a bitter lesson a what the world powers value more. Ghaddafi wasn't speaking out of ignorance when he suggested the division of Nigeria. He spoke from a position of knowledge in what's in stock for the people of Nigeria. To say it in simple terms: true federalism isn't happening anytime soon in Nigeria and the southern politicians are too divided to force. Meanwhile, the fulanis are gradually gaining on their strongholds as we can all see. What's the fate of non Muslims under such scenario. Wake up Mr. We rather fight it out and get our sanity than hoping they devil depends and become peaceful.

That's an advanced business model that has been in play by the world power's for ages.

World Conflict Resolution= US sells arms to those fighting Asad while Russia sells arms to Asad to fight those buying arms from US to fight him.

Winner = US and Russia ( Arm sale = Generates Profits for US & Russia).

Losers: The innocent casualties in Syria.

Same conflict resolution model was applied in all the conflicts that occured in the middle east (Iran vs Iraq) (Iraq vs Iraq) and still going on. (Warming up is Saudi Arabia backed by the US vs Iran backed by Russia)

Same conflict Resolution business model was adopted during the Liberian civil war where armaments where being sold to the rebel's led by Charles Taylor and arms where also sold to Yomi Johnson as well as to the then president Samuel Dou.

Same is happening between India and Pakistan

All these crises went before the UN and the European parliaments as well and the outcomes resulted in more sales of armaments and millions of lives wasted yet the problems have still not been resolved.
You're quite spot on in your description of the international politics played by the world powers and how they cash in on the sales of weapons but you still have not proffered any solution to the impending slavery coming on all non Muslims in Nigeria. The quest for Biafra is not just political or economic freedom, it is all forms of freedom because the oppressors have a grand scheme on motion which your failure to act will only make it easier for them. If truly you're Igbo, you would have seen what I'm saying here. For me and majority of other IPOB members, we rather make life miserable for our oppressors than to just conclude on the inhumane politics of the world powers and watch helplessly as the demons from the sahel have an easy ride over our lands and people. Tufiakwa!
If you want to understand Nigeria very well, go and study Sudan's history and how the country was divided. North Sudan is the mentor of the fulani-led northern Nigeria. Do you know why South Sudan was created despite that international politics at play? Not all instances are the same. I'm studying the history and politics behind the creation(division) of countries at present and I'm learning a lot. If you know the plans against non Muslims in Nigeria, you will never talk against Biafra. All that's happening in Nigeria today I've already seen for over a decade now and have been saying it here on Nairaland before the formation of IPOB. You fail to fight because of that weapon sales policy, you're hounded and swallowed without the world battling an eyelid or you fight for a decade or more and stand the chance of freedom forever. You make a choice.
All those non Muslims fighting against Biafra will soon be forced into servitude. It's not my wish but that's what I see. By the time they'll realize it, it will be too late.

Words of advice- if you ibos truly want out of the union, just pack your bags whereever you are in the country and head back to your homeland and stay put to defend your ancestral land from those you claim hates and envies you.
Keep your advice to yourself. Igbos will leave your land en mass after the disintegration not before because no one will condition us on how to live. Our fathers left before and you gathered yourselves to our land. This time around we stay put wherever and slug it out until the division has been finalized with UN backing before we leave.
