From the report itself you can tell the side of the reporter. Are boko haramites militants? When you call demonic terrorists whose stock-in-trading is marauding and mindless destruction of the innocent and suffering masses, what can we call you? |
So far, the contributions have been expository and honestly, I have learnt some things. As for the torkaka guy, he speaks against the SE with sentiments. All he sees is the SE lying low while the C/north pounds her. Again, it is not difficult noticing that he underestimates the Igbos so much as to single out the SE among other areas that would be attacked. What people like him fail to consider is that every aggressor has a motive. What is the motive of the core north attacking only the SE? I will not discuss our offensive strategies here. |
I surely will come back to this interesting thread when I'm chanced. But let me pen down some points to enable us analyse better. My points are based on the core north being the aggressors. What actually will be their target? 1. Access to the sea only? Yorubaland will be the likely route. 2. Access to oil and the sea? Igboland and the ND will be the likely route. 3. Arable and mineral rich lands? The MB will be their aim. Point number 2 seems to be the most difficult for obvious reasons- more population and a viciously lethal enemy to face. More to come. |
Nobleval: friend? Your friend not mineUnderstandable if you are still a teenager but if you are in your mid twenties and still entertain this fear, then you are not ready to face the world. Friend, death is inevitable and the fear of death makes you avoid taking risks. If you don't take risks how then can you be successful? Without risk how can you discover something new and reap any benefit thereof? Look here; read books about great men and you will notice one common thing about them. That thing is the banishment of the fear of death. |
Nobleval: No 1 is the bomb. Others are nonsense. I hate death! I'm scared of death. Death is my nightmare! I wish I will not die...God you made a mistake when you allowed man to be dying. My friend with this mindset you can never be at your best. A man must overcome the fear of death so that he can do the impossible. You are scared, you will die; you aren't scared, still you die. What then is the use of being scared? Listen friend, death is a friend and it should not frighten you. |
I will surely come back to this thread. Present day Africans are actually cowards. |
This is piece of kulikuli. The 'minimum' number of times two look at the marbles in the box is once i.e one time. Since they are wrongly labelled, just open one of the boxes and determine the content. By eliminating that one, exchange the labels of the other two boxes and 'viola' you get your answer. |
quid: I agree with you 100%Exactly, this has been my summary of the whole war game with brains behind bh. It is a game of the wits; if you are good in draft or chess. The essence is just to buy time unfortunately, the puns to sacrificed cannot be reassembled on the board again. Anyway, it remains just 7 months to the D-day. Ehen, lest I forget- two hundred mortar shells from the NA are still in the hands of bh. We are watching. |
I jus dey laugh. Later una go say aboki no get sense. First time na Chibok wahala dem use dey turn una like kpuf-kpuf for inside hot oil. Today 50 escapes, tomoro na 8 escape. In the night boko don recapture 46. Dem just dey play kpakpangolo for una brain. Chai!! O weh! Now Ndume don give una another assignment make una dey solve. Me I just dey focus for 2015 when Buhari say dogs and baboons go swim for inside blood. Na dat one be my assignment. |
Over 325 views with just 5 comments. Hmmm, this tells a lot about the present psyche of the people of Nigeria. Meanwhile, RIP to the innocent dead. Indeed, 2015 will be interesting. Let's go there!!! |
barcanista: Wiwa fought for Ogoni cause, he was entirely pro-Ogoni which we the Ijaw respect. He resisted Biafra as well as wrote to the world on the multinationals abuse on Ogoni soil...Rightly said about Saro-wiwa and I'd want to ask if you knew about his regrets when his page was closed. He realized rather too late that what he was fighting for was unattainable at that moment. Mind you he also complained of the Ijaws purported dominance of the old Rivers state and lamented bitterly. Imagine every ethnic group in the ND jostling for a country of theirs. He later sought the hand of Ojukwu and that is from the famous appellation 'good morning this afternoon' was birthed by the Eze-Igbo Gburugburu. I never expected you to list out where and where you have been to. I was curious to know if you've transversed Nigeria and lived in other cosmopolitan cities outside Lagos. I think it will change your perception. The first Ijaw man I met in Northern Nigeria as its very rare seeing them there shares a parallel belief from yours. I met him at Abuja and his views were quite encouraging. When I first visited Rivers state, I heard one of the most disturbing info that was quite devasting- how whole communities were made to swear before shrines not to have to do anything with Igbos (having South Easterners in mind). Some of those communities are presently suffering the consequencies. So, when I see the Amaechis, Sergeant Awuses and their likes, I'm not surprised. Like I said to some stubborn ones, if Nigeria continues like this then we will relate like animals in the jungle aka survival of the fitest but if we synchronize and utilize our synergy, then we will respect each other. |
barcanista: basta@rd son... At no time DID I question Jonathan's Ijaw loyalty BUT his style of Governance. Stop Whipping cheap sentiment. Jonathan's Interest is NOT synonymous to Ijaw's Interest . The Presidency is ONLY a bonus as it is NOT part of our agitation at anytime. Why the insult my friend? You can still counter my points without being uncivil. I'm not being sentimental like you erroneously said, rather I was being factual and my intent was to make you see the bigger picture which Saro-wiwa saw just when he knew the date of his death. Lest I forget, you never answered my question and I ask again: 'how far and wide have you travelled?'. Your response will determine if I will continue this discussion with you. |
barcanista: we will kip avin problems as long as some certain tribe don't want to "mind dia business"@OP, If I may ask; how far and wide have you travelled? I believe it has a bearing on your choice of spectrum. Of the groups in the ND, there's non with much mixture with the Igbos like the Ijaws, yet they are the most antagonists. Why? Asari a well respected Ijaw man who is well versed in history and politics has all those things to say yet you couldn't decipher anything! Thesame you wrote away GEJ as an inconsequential personality in the Ijaw nation nay history. Even though he has some flaws as we all do possess, you failed to connect the dots in his superficial disposition as some dogged tactics. Underdogs don't take the bull by its horns. Becareful, you and your likes are not towing a different path than Ken Saro-wiwa did and I believe you know his regrets albeit they were late as he had already burnt the bridges that connected him to his allies. You should have no fear of the Igbos. We are not vampires nor are we oppressors. Think again barcanista. |
To be forewarned is to be forearmed. Embarassment is preferred to regrets. In times like this, no stone should be left unturned in the course of forestalling any suspected talk more of attempted act of terrorism. |
himkers: He is a young man with bright prospects, Nigeria is no good place for such visions and dreams. He took the right decision.Go Nasir, go! If he had chosen to represent Nigeria, I would have insulted him. Nigeria does not worth it. Restructure the damn empire or divide it outrightly. Death to this Nigeria. |
This is the Nigeria some people believe in. A jungle were nobody fears the law. It is written in the Holy Bible that 'when a crime goes unpunished in a land, it later becomes a custom'. Nigerians, I dey greet o. |
s3nn2x: I don't see the possibility of creating additional states. I was even expecting that the number of states in Nigeria should be reduced. State creation is not our problem in Nigeria.'Airegin'? Hahahahahahahahahaha... Chei, anwuo m ooo! What a meaningless name and to imagine it was spelt backwards means going far more backwards than the present. Changing the name of a dead empire will never solve the problem. The world can now laugh at Nigerians and mock them even the more. If you doubt ask Econet, was it Celtel or Zain. Ye, ye, ye, ah, ah mo ti ku o. A chamelion remains a chamelion no matter how many times it changes colour. Nigerians changed their state-owned electricity company from ECN to NEPA yet it remained thesame. From NEPA to PHCN and the problem persisted, yet the never learn. Wayo, na mutu! 'Airegin' = Air + gin(ogogoro) LWKMD, man pikin neva laugh like this tey tey . |
Chillisauce: Packet of rice for peoples vote.It would have come with some chillisauce but I guess they forgot. |
Well, to win an online debate through falsehood and deception is more valuable than the on-the-site results for some. Ndi Anambra shall not concede any of their lands to greedy folks. |
A great piece I must say and a herculian task it is. Where shall start from when our oppressors have mastered the art of subjugation. Is it the economic plundering of our lands or the pilfering of our bright minds through awards and accolades that will warrant them to abandon Africa? The introduction of deadly diseases which are hitherto alien to our people and lands plus the pitching of our people against us through devilish politicking has remain one of their greatest weapon. Even the Great Achebe couldn't resist the temptation of staying in their land after he battled them in the literary world. It is obvious to visionary negroes that our race is one that is an endangered specie. From the total eclipsing of North Africa and the sublimation of East Africa by the Arabs down to the annexation of Southern Africa by the Europeans. West African on the surface appears untouched but on critical examination, one would discover that it has been placed on lockdown by atleast 50% by no other country than France. With over 50% of West African countries being Francophone and in reality vassal state of France, one can tell that West Africa is in a mess. Nigeria which boasts one of the brightest minds in the world from history to date suffers from one of the deadliest venoms of the enemy known as 'divide and conquer'. Now, the land mines set by those 'patients of negrophobia' has approached detonation point while we, the target are wallowing in foolishness being blinded by parochial sentiments watch helplessly as their decendants- well known vultures drapped in the dress of the colourful butterflies hover above us. It is quite heart-wrenting seeing a problem, knowing a solution but being unable to solve it as a tree does not make a forest. At this juncture I say; only God can save the black race. |
cutiepie01: i beg u to pls dont give up,I respect ur personality. If u give up now,u'll always want more,pre-marital sex is just like a bottomless pit,it takes d grace of God for one to stop once you start, its better not to start at all.If u av kept it till now,why not continue?I believe U've already overcomed the most challenging phase of ur life, that has been my motivation and God too.God bless u.Thanks for the encouragement. |
kennygee: @Op, try this experiment. "get a beautiful, well cultured, God fearing and sexually appealing woman, she will get the attention of many guys, start a friendship and when the "no premarital sex" issues comes up, watch him beat Usain Bolt in sprinting". Like you will also stay.VERY TRUE: I am an exception to this your postulation. There's no lady I've wanted to have a long-lasting relationship with that have never desired sex even when I clearly state that I am not for pre-marital sex. As a matter of fact, they rarely believe that they are the only one as at each time I was with any of them. I think I know why it is so. Most be because of my looks, physique, composure, charisma and swag. Honestly, I believe most ladies on nairaland will fall for me if they spend just a week around me. I don't boast about it but I cherish it. Just still hoping to meet a young, beautiful and FAITHFUL lady that WE would share our 'first fruit together'. Though, for now I'm almost giving up because loads of beautiful ladies are already annoyed with 'this tamed lion' and myself, mehn, the pressure is too much. |
The belief that Ndigbo are of Jewish origin is not exactly true. We might have some Jewish blood but are certainly not Jews. Firstly, I'd say; 'no people are exactly made up of one homogeneous group'. It is normally a mixture of different people with just a dominant group given the whole mix an identity. Even the Israelis as at Jesus' time were already a mix people but chose to retain their traceable lineage(Judah) in history. As for present day Ndigbo, we can say we have Jewish blood running in us but we remain Ndigbo just like some group of Ndigbo could say they have bini or Ibibio blood in them but remain Ndigbo. Those of us who feel strong the ties with Israel should celebrate it(if it deserves celebrating) but shouldn't be to the detriment of our present identity. That our forefathers practiced circumcision on the eight day prior to the advent of the europeans speak a lot. That a man can inherit his brother's wife if she is bereaved still being childless(same as the Jews) so as to help propagate his brother's lineage is not a coincidence. There some other ones I can't remember now. All in all, the present Jews are peopled by many europeans who have no blood-link with the original people. Those part of our ancestors didn't originate from these ones hence I see no reason why some people say 'inferiority complex'. So, those people hurling insults on Ndigbo should desist as even the claim itself does no harm to them unless there is something I to know. |
Who was the greatest African? This is very debatable. Also, we need to define Africa and what it actually means to be African. Africa itself is so vague and vast that trying to define the term in a myopic way would obfuscate what it actually means to be African, and exempt a lot of people. And like Zuma, the South African president said a few weeks ago: "There's no Africa/African." A few other African academics share the same sentiments. Perhaps, we need to start defining it as "black" - to make it all inconclusive. So to call either Kwame Nkrumah or Nelson Mandela the greatest black person ever is a tad bit too generous IMO. However, we can debate who was more influential, more popular and more accomplished between the two icons. I'd say Kwame Nkrumah was more influential to the "African" cause since he was the face of anti-colonial struggle and he paved the way for everyone else. All the subsequent pan-Africanists came from his school of thought and they all studied him. But when it comes to popularity and accomplishment, as a black man, then no one is ever going to touch Nelson Mandela. If you want to use the creation of OAU as a yardstick to measure greatness, despite the non-achievements of the OAU - then Muammar Gaddafi also deserve to be in the conversation for creating the AU. Personally, for the greatest black person ever - I would lean towards Malcolm X and Steven Biko since they both provided blueprints on how to solve the unique problems of the black race. However, they never really accomplished much while they were alive, so we can't really call none of them the greatest. But some might argue that Jesus also never really achieved much while he was on this planet, but most people believe he was the greatest that ever lived. That's an argument for another day. All in all, I believe there's no greatest African/black person. They all contributed to black history and were icons. ![]() Edited. Hotep!
On point Imhotep- the great physician of old. |
Sloan: And you live in Ontario, Canada? Do the Canadians build their advanced economy which you proudly co-opted "Ontarian" by make-believe stories that are not backed by factual data? Your should be so ashamed of yourself! Did you ask for official sources for this information or you just read the topic, saw the Wikipedia entry and that is "official"?? If you were educated in Ontario, you should have your certificate withdrawn and deleted as I am sure no university worth its salt in the most remote parts of the world (let alone Canada) would accept a reference from Wikipedia as "official". Except of course, I know you accepted because it massages your ego, makes you feel more important or panders to that false sense of larger than lifeness of the ibo. That is why you hear things like "Ibos are doing well" whereas everyone and people in Nigeria doing so well on a world scale are the last to even respond directly to any question if they are doing well or not. Would you ever see the likes of the Americans, Canadians, British, etc or even the people who are ahead in Nigeria ever make a statement of how "they are doing well"?? I think the genetic make up of the ibo is mortally flawed! Why the hatred over a simple and harmless information about a language from Nigeria being recognised 'officially as a local language'? Or is it because IGBO is involved? Cheeeeiii! Ewu ata m igu n'isi. |
On point Mr. Asemota! Imagine some group of persons blaring that they are 'born to rule' and yet saying 'the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable'. In other words, they are telling us that we were born to serve and we have no choice. Never while we are alive! Restructure the empire or risk her disintegration. |
Afrobasic: A word they say is enough for the wise. This statement is valid only on one condition: 'stop thinking and acting in ways that make the old eastern region appear like a conquered region'. Is it for show that her people are leaving the region in droves to hostile and mockery lands of the north and the west? Rebuild, equip and encourage her to regain confidence in Nigeria and see the threat of secession evaporate forever. But until then, it is all man to himself. RIP Great Madiba. |
Cubeet: Nigeria without the North would have been greatCorrection my friend! Nigeria without the CORE NORTH would have been greater than some european countries. Uthman Ibn Hodio's Islam destroyed Hausaland and its surrounding kingdoms. Gideon Orkar's coup was a surgical coup that would have restored life to comatose Nigeria but regretably its precision was marred by factors unknown to me(fate?). Muslim north of Nigeria is a harbinger of retrogression and surprisingly their apathy towards this glaring observation is never comical for serious minded folks. |
manover: Nor be their fault all na way to survive job nor dey d countryTrue talk bro! Lol, all na hussling. |
