Mr. Bruce may God strengthen you in this rough path you want to thread on. I know you must have known that the task is a heavy one but be rest assured that many are with you and are even to lay down their lives for the good of everyone. I hate injustice. If I had my way I'll kill as many evil politicians as possible. Why would men have billions in their various bank accounts while many hunger and thirst around them? Its evil. God gave resources and wealth that would be sufficient for everyone but men's greed will never allow everyone to partake in such free gifts.

The whitemen successfully brainwashed ur heads to the extent that you only see the bad side of ur fellow Africans. Had this violent incursions been made by europeans, it would ve been simply expansion. The great Britain, France, Spain, etc did worst to ur fellow blacks than the Fulanis.
Pls read history books written by Hausa-Fulanis. The ones you read re misguided & aimed at spoiling the image of our heritage.
If you believe my brain has been whitewashed then I've nothing to say to you. The history of the Hausas has its own share of battles but it wasn't with wanton destruction like those of the Fulanis. I once came across a fulani man's diary where he recorded their raids of peaceful communities with the number of prisoners they took and all that. The descriptions were quite gory. I don't celebrate people who conquered others by force of arms but I respect those who govern others by superior reasoning and strategy. My mentor taught me that the best form of victory in warfare is in which no life was lost. It doesn't breed animosity. You're uncomfortable because I spoke about your people's brutish past but I'm not looking at the past now. What are your people known for today?

Etche is a pure Igbo group. I've interacted with some of them who were students and that just left Rivers state for the first time. I understood clearly except for few words which is typical of various Igbo groups. I've been to Ozuzu-Etche and the Igbo I heard there is the same with what is obtainable in other communities in Imo state bordering Rivers in that axis.

you knew nothing about Hausa history. You read misguided literature on our history. The Hausa people were muslims even before the grandfather of Danfodio was born. In fact Usman Danfodio himself was entirely educated in Hausaland.
The issue is not about who educated Dan Fodio but about who introduced the violent form of Islam into Hausaland. Even before the days of Queen Amina of the Zazzau kingdom Hausas have been Muslims but they were still not usurpers of their neighbours lands. However the emergence of Dan Fodio brought death and destruction to many tribes and lands in the north. The Adamas of Yola, the Buba Yeros of Gombe the Yusufs of Bauchi were fulanis who destroyed the real owners of those lands. Heck even the Kanuris had their original capital Ngazargamu destroyed because of fulanis' pugnacious disposition.

OP whatever you say will not change the wicked view of men whose conscience have been dead by Igbophobia. To them the Igbos should forget and move on while they should not aspire for anything good to come to them. Anything they manage to get they should be extremely grateful to their benefactors and they should not even rejoice at their individual achievements as that would be termed chest beating. I only laugh at such people because a whirl wind is brewing and they surely will be caught unawares if they insist on forcing a people whose population runs into tens of millions against their will. Sanusi the emir of Kano said it loud and clear in his popular write up titled Yorubas are the trouble with Nigeria that the oppression of the Igbos may likely bring a huge problem in future as they will demand for a change from the statusquo which is actually hard handed against Igbos. What they don't understand is an oppressed man can do anything for freedom worst still an oppressed Igbo man. Let me just say one thing to help them understand what we are talking about. Presently I personally will not feel pained if an atomic bomb is dropped on a location where hundreds of thousands would be obliterated just to get to the proponents of this evil one Nigeria. We cannot be held oppressed for ever. Its not possible. We are watching.

Wow nice one but must everything end with "anci" Please any hausa in the building should tell us the meaning of "anci"
That suffix 'anci' signifies speaking as in this Hausa group speaking. You will notice that the 'anci' comes after well known states or locations in hausaland. For instance Kannanci means Kano speaking dialect. Also turawa means Europeans so turanci means European speaking which equates to English language. However this should not be confused with 'iskanci' which was written by AnanseK. Lol I'll leave him to explain that one.
Hausa is a beautiful language and the people i.e the original Hausa people are not more different from the minority tribes surrounding them. The advent of the belligerent Fulanis and the retrogressive religion changed the once peaceful and friendly Hausawas to the present nightmare that they've become.

If the Buhari government put the Oodua Nation in their rightful place and take over the APC, I see the SS and SE forging alliance with the whole North against the Oodua Nation in 2019.
What I don't understand is why the North always turn out victorious in every political game.
#ILoveTheYorubasShaa
The answer is very simple. The check mate the strongest southerners by creating hatred between them and other southerners and their victory will be guaranteed. The hatred against the Igbos was created during the civil war where southerners were used to fight the Igbos and the Yorubas were used to do more damage. Fast forward to the present the bitterness and suspicion between these two major groups down south gives the north an easy way out of the political quagmire. As long as we fight against each other the north particularly the far north will always win. The worst nightmare of the core north is the 2011 formula. They convulsed at what they saw. This is what southern unity can achieve. Unfortunately the Yorubas would not want to see the Igbos rise beyond their immediate post war position in Nigeria's politics so they sold out to the north who were about to deal out their last card and now we are back to the 70's. Unfortunately for the whole south, the core north are at the moment trying to consolidate on power that will give them at least half of the political say of Nigeria's politics. You may ask how. Ok all the fightings in the middle belt is for them to clinch the governorship of those states from where they can control the politics of the state for the presidency. Nassarawa state is a typical example of where an Al makura from a minority group controls the whole state and directs the politics of the state for bigger politics. If they can replicate this in the other middle belt states they already get half of Nigeria. This already is in progress while the Igbos and Yorubas are at each others throat. Education is surely not wisdom.

This is what I've been shouting about for years now but only few pay attention. Its quite surprising that our well known loquacious media failed to extensively write against their evils. These groups of marauders in my estimation are worst than boko haram. They have the support of men in government both political and in the military. These people are actually not majorly herdsmen as their mode of operations show a well trained execution of their barbaric acts. Unlike boko haram they take no prisoners- a point to be well noted. All is game for them and this happens under the cover of the army. They wreak havoc and when soldiers are deployed still go ahead to kill some security personnel and this action will be turned around and blamed on the indigenes of the locality. More soldiers will then be moved in and whole communities will be wiped out in a purported revenge mission by the army. These have been going on in the middle belt for over a decade. These guys are worst than terrorists in that they mask their intentions so well. Even politicians from their stock are lobbying for them to be given legitimate occupation of other peoples ancestral lands all in the guise of grazing routes all over Nigeria. Some of these guys are even foreigners from neighbouring countries. It is quite shameful that the people of Nigeria who pride themselves as enlightened and sophisticated become dumb when this issue is presented to them. No group of people have taken it upon themselves to create a strong awareness against this wickedness happening in more than half the size of Nigeria. Communities are wiped out and occupied by these same usurpers of land and no one is speaking up. I guess we are all under a spell. I as an Igbo man say that any Igbo community which has been a victim of such attacks and couldn't track and destroy these attackers should be wiped out. If you don't have the logistics to do that why not reach out to your neighbouring communities for assistance? They are not spirits and we are not cowards. Don't give any chance to oppressors especially in your ancestral lands. Don't wait for the Nigerian army as they their shield most times.
Now that their grand patron is the president of Nigeria what do you expect? An upsurge of course. The worst you can think of about all these is that they are normal clashes. When something goes beyond a region then it is a well coordinated plan. If it is just a usual herder/farmers clash why then are whole communities wiped out women and babies inclusive? Why their community leaders are holding peace and reconciliation meeting with the victims their militias are wrecking more havoc while their politicians are trying to legitimize their occupied territories as grazing route. Only a daft person will not see the game plan from plateau and kaduna down through nassarawa and benue. Unfortunately igboland is impregnable. We are watching.

Bro, you're smart. I've read through all your write ups and I must say, I'm impressed and I've learnt a few things.

But there is one thing I won't accept, "the reason why Africa is in poverty is because of whites". I live in Nigeria. I was born here. I went to school here. I don't have one single caucasian friend. I speak the language and as I type this, there has been a power cut for more than 3 weeks.

I believe it's our fault that we are where we are. Contrary to what you believe, I'm well informed about the roots of Africa and I do have sufficient knowledge of Africa's past glories, if I can put it that way. But at the end of the day, even majority of Africans aren't aware of our rich history. Our leaders will rather spend billions from the national budget on their salaries than on education. And, like the great Tai Solarin said, Ignorance is darkness.

At the moment, Africa is but a shadow of what we once were. There is a we-will-never-grow mentality here. Everyone is only concerned with filling up their pockets. We have reviewed our educational curriculum in, well, let's just say never. We have lots of natural resources but there is a lot of poverty due to mismanagement.

In my initial response to this post, I did say, "black Americans should come back to Africa". It really does sound unrealistic but with careful scrutiny, you have to admit that it is actually possible. But that's another story.

Yes, whites ARE thieves bro. Wherever they go, they steal knowledge, land and go back to develop their countries. But Africans steal from Africa and take it to Europe and America. When an average politician/civil servant/leader is will, they travel abroad for medical treatment and spend millions. But the average Nigerian, where I live, is deprived of clean water.

Maybe you need to come over here for a visit to really understand what I mean. Whites might have sown the seeds of poverty but blacks are watering it.
Now you're talking. Our present shameful state in Africa is as result of leadership failure. I can confidently say that Africans especially we the blacks are not very critical. This I'm ashamed of.

Music? Did you just mention music as an achievement? I am pretty sure that by music, you are referring to hip hop and RnB, right? Do you realise that classical music, rock and roll etc were all existing before hip hop was created in the 1980s. For your information, the richest hip hop artist isn't as rich as an average rock and roll group/band. Do you even know what goes on behind the scenes? The equipments used are all made by whites. The enabling market for such music to grow was created by whites. The whole "hollywood" glamor was created by whites.

Even here in Africa, our music only thrives because we have "copied" what works in the western world and even at that, the quality of our music is still relatively low and cannot be marketed to the world.

As far as the "inventions" go, blacks on African soil have not been able to achieve such feats. At the end of the day, without the enabling environment by the whites, blacks still wouldn't have invented the wheel.
You are writing jargons. You clearly don't know African history and so there's no need discussing the achievements of ancient Africa.

If you doubt, try simplifying the right hand side of the equation
You my friend got it wrong. You're quite correct on the theorem of 'the difference of two squares' but you failed to realize that what stood before you was not two different numbers. The theorem states 'x' and 'y' but there its only one number x. The x is 10 and the y shouldn't be 10 too. This actually is what made his proof wrong.

Prior to this, the tension in Jos was so palpable, the struggle for the ownership of Jos North between the indigenes(Berom) and the Hausas(settlers) got to its crescendo and the once spoken about most modern market in Africa became the victim of this inordinate ambition of the Hausa-Fulanis.
Though rumour also has it that the indigenes may equally have a hand in the disaster, whatever, the face of Jos will never be the same again.

Good one OP. A journey of a thousand mile starts with a foot step. However any process of reconciliation and attempt at unity must involve the declassification of eastern Nigeria as an abandoned area. Without this nothing can engender any of such hypocritical unity in your phantom one Nigeria. If you want the Igbos to forget the past then you must treat the wounds of yesterday against a people visited with much hate and angst. Failure to do this will render all efforts an exercise in futility. We are not dumb as we see the deliberate neglect of our region by the FG. Some of us hate Nigeria not because of we are ethnically jaundiced but because of her hypocritical nature which so stinks. When we rejoice at our individual or group success others say we are too proud of ourselves. Tell me: who will not rejoice at his success when all he hears all around him from other people has been messages of him being a failure? A lot of evil have been said of the Igbo such that a lot of them hate themselves and try to distance themselves and groups from the Igbo nation when in reality all those stories have been false. You can't just wake up and tell such negatively projected people to move on as though nothing happened. As an Igbo man I'll say we have moved on but not in your own context or that of a majority of Nigerians. Before you argue with me I have a question for you: have the Israelis moved on from the prejudice they suffered in Europe and the Middle east? If yes why then do they not take it lightly with any one who makes as small as anything deemed an insult on semitic stuffs? If you've been there you will understand. While I believe that a restructured Nigeria is the best option for all constituent parts that make her up today I still will clamour for the interest of my people until I see a sincere will to make a nation where everyone enjoys equal rights and privileges. Death to all retrogressives.

Once again, I bless God for GEJ's defeat at tthe last elections. For in his defeat, there's a huge victory for the SS/SE; in his loss, a huge gain.

It's a question of time till this nation be restructured or disintegrated; the Lord Lugard's experiment had a beginning, and it must have an end.

It may appear like as though all these self determination talks are brewing up now that GEJ lost. No. It's being a latent desire of every SS/SE politically mature person to see this nation restructured for justice, equity and fairness. We have come of age to understand our position in the grand scheme of things; it doesn't appear bright at all.

Our people were silent in the days of GEJ to ascertain the level and depth of oneness in the nation. Obviously the oneness is both fraudulent and shallow. And GEJ himself didn't helpIin the equation!

My deepest fear is way beyond the outcome of the 2015 elections. My fear is about the political future of our people, and future generations. The current system is skewed in their disfavour forever. Till the system is restructured, much won't change.

I'm a man of peace, but if there shall be war, let it be in my time, that my children shall live in peace- Tom Paine.

True some of the pictures online meant to show to the world what was happening in South Africa recently were erroneous. And yes the situation is a bit exaggerated but I believe it was good any way since it got your government on the hot seat. They were hitherto indifferent to the dangers foreigners were facing. Little effort was put up to control the madness your wicked scabengos were visiting on foreigners. It even appeared your policemen were in support of those crimes as some pictures revealed looting and arson persisted in their presence. For your information more than 20 people were killed in this xenophobic attacks. Your media mentioned 8 but that was just damage control. A Congolese known to me was burnt alive at the earlier stage of this ugly debacle. Don't try to divert the present attention from your govt who toyed with it at the inception.
Now in all fairness the govt has now understood the implication of their apathy as other African countries rose up in condemnation of such barbaric acts. Presently the situation is calm and security is very tight. Serious campaign against xenophobia is in full gear now as media organizations trade unions and associations make jingles in its condemnation. Nigerians should tone down as the message of tolerance is being preached all over.
And for the OP there's no scores to be settled between the two strongholds of Africa. Its just the lack of proper information that informed the numerous response of our people and also the little exaggeration of the media. If it served the purpose of waking your government to her duties then I am satisfied.

Igbos are doing well all over Nigeria, we have federal appointments and hold key positions (Ngozi okonjo iweala) but we always tend to. overlook all these to continue playing the victim. Forget what you see on nairaland, igbos and yorubas live in peace in real life.

no one likes an arrogant person. I'm igbo yet I get irritated at the attitude of some Igbo sometimes. Igbo call hausas aboki and Yoruba ugly, are they supposed to like that. respect is reciprocal, I respect other people and I know that they will respect me.

I still maintain that we should let go of the past and make something for ourselves in this Nigeria.
remain blessed
You must have spent most of your life in the South West. I spent mine in the north. I insist that Ojukwu is a hero. O yes you might not feel hated given the people you have been meeting but same cannot be said of majority of us. Igbos and Yorubas have no physical enmity like you said but when politicians and professionals are making frantic effort to hinder development from getting to your region what do we call that. You mentioned ministerial appointments as though you can equate that to tangible institutions lacking from our region. Let me ask you: why is Lagos the only operational seaport in all our coastal cities? Why should a highly commercial region like SE denied an international airport until GEJ's regime? Why is SE the region with the fewest number of states with comes with a lot of comparative losses especially the allocations? You might be comfortable with the little you're getting as an individual but some of us are cut out for looking out for not just ourselves but others too. Granted some of our people can be arrogant but is that enough to paint our people in with the same brush. The Yorubas present themselves as without flaws but tell me does the unreliability of a good number of them confirm them as unreliable people? Do we generalize all Yorubas as dirty people because a good number of them seem so untidy? If not then you should not allow others make you look at your people in entirety as arrogant people. I personally don't hate a group of people but I won't watch as they brand my people with all sort of bad names and use that as an excuse to deny us our entitlements. You for instance don't feel that their any problem between Igbos and Yorubas but wait until a critical position comes up that you're qualified to occupy then you will see an iota of that deprivation I was talking about. My brother this is the reality of our present Nigeria. The Yorubas view the Igbos with suspicion hinged on the assumption that Ndigbo hate them and would want to bring harm to them. To forestall any of such assumed plan of Ndigbo from materializing they would seek the alliance of the Hausa/fulanis at any cost. While it is true that Ndigbo are very angry with the Yorubas for the seeming deception or sabotage during the civil war no such coordinated plan to bring harm to Yorubas exist. How to get the Yorubas to accept this altruistic situation has proven impossible as they have sworn never to believe the Igbos. As such a majority of their elites prefer to go to the Hausa/fulanis for alliance to suppress Ndigbo even if they wouldn't benefit much from the partnership.
