Kamsy10: In church today, you'll find the consciousness of tithing more than the consciousness of dressing.
What the pastor emphasizes in church is very important.
Dressing of harlot was mentioned in d old testament, and so was tithing. But today, tithing is upheld while the other old testament laws are considered outdated and old fashioned.
You cant go wrong with decent dressing(covering your body properly) at least on rapture day u can be sure that God wont reject u based on dressing. . Sadly we tend to cover ourselves better when going to work these days than when going to church. Lets not overstretch the grace of God
It's well with Christianity. I pray none of us miss heaven
For it is written in the Holy Scriptures that 'darkness will cover the earth and THICK darkness the people but for those who took time to study His word and abide therein, a bright light shall break forth for them'. There's nothing anybody can do about it. Gradually, those thìngs we totally abhor shall systematically be ACCEPTED not just allowed. It's all man to himself as the Bible rightly recorded.

Emmadani: i dey tel u.But d question is,who wil suffer it most?North south east west?
It doesn't matter who suffers most. Do not rejoice at the thought of others suffering. All we want is the respect of life, equity, justice, peace, progress and accountability. This is what you CAN NEVER GET in this Nigeria. This is why we refer to Nia as an empire and not a nation.
Why would some people think they can hold others hostage by making the a 'one Nigeria' ungovernable for a fellow citizen who is highly eligible to contest? Why was this same person initially denied his constitutional rights of assuming the position of an acting president since the then president was evident indisposed to govern given his health status?

In my dialect, we use 'ghu' for 'bu', 'gu' for 'gi'; arunshi for alusi etc.
While going through my genealogy, I came across a name 'Nwanri'. This got me thinking wide... possible Nri connection. However, some of my people say its an arochukwu warrior that founded my town but if so, why is it called Umunze when it is clear that the Aros did/do not practise the nze titleship?
Again, the large Ikoro (about the size of 2000ltrs GP tank) found in each of the villages that constitute my town was said to have been carved by some men from Umudioka(whether that of Awkuzu or Dunukofia, I know not).
Generally, communities that are close tend to have that sense of kinship because interactions over the years help shape their separate dialects to be more similar hence the Idemili/Oshimili similarity, Orumba/ Isuochi-Okigwe similarity, Uratta-Mbaise/Etche similarity etc.
Finally, their are many dialects in Anambra but we are comfortable with Onitsha dialect or Igbo Izugbe yet when we converge in our local assemblies, the common dialect rules.

pazienza: You are getting it all wrong. What we are trying to do,is to remove the importance most igbos have come to attach to states of origin. We are exposing how stupid and naive it is,when people try to hold unto artificial creations like states of origin

I have met most igbos that when you ask where they are from, they would simply tell you their state of origin, and would feel more related to you,if you are from this new artificial identity of theirs.

States in igboland are as heterogenous as hell, with many different igbo tribes, placed on the same state.

As an idemili man, i am more related to an enuani man from delta state, than to an umunze man in orumba, who himself is more related to okigwe groups and umunneochi groups in imo and abia state.

It would be stupid for me to start wearing anambra at heart, seeing as anambra is but an artificial creation that not long ago, included ezza, izzi and even nkanu tribes.

Not long ago, there was just Anambra and Imo states in south east, myopic people rallied around those two artificial creation to create divisions in igboland, those days,to reduce the friction that was building up, the saying that anambra na imo bu umunne became a mantra, funny that immediately those two states were divided, people rallied around their new found identities of Enugu, abia, and ebonyi, while the remnant of the old imo and anambra, still held unto those two artificial creations.

A better approach for me would be,to give all those identities away, and wear igbo at heart, seeing that one way or the other, all igbo tribes are bound by one destiny.
thanks for this contribution. I wrote that to dissuade some ignorant ones who want to cast aspersion on their kins.

After watching the documentary, get emotional and after a while go back to your default state.
Nigerians have seen nothing yet. Such a revolution most of the youths crave CAN NEVER happen under the present political structure. If the parrots here are serious, organise and go after the past leaders that embezzled the common wealth. Most of them are alive(Shagari, Obasanjo, IBB etc. and they have lesser security. This will pass a strong message to the present ones and may likely cause a change. Is this possible? NO.
Let those who believe in Nigeria go out first and die for it in their large numbers, then those of us who do not believe in it can be convinced that indeed many people really want a positive change for EVERYONE irrespective of tribe, region or religion. Meanwhile, no Igbo man whether from SE/SS should join the first batch of revolutionist lest some people turn around when the heat is on and label you a felon as was the case before. Dede1: It is unfortunate that the chickens have come home to roost. Again, it is unfathomable when most people think they can eat their cake and have it. I am not perturbed one bit about what is happening in northern region of Nigeria today. Blame the government of Nigeria which ironically the so-called middle belt sons and daughters have assisted to foist on Nigerians.

Where were the middle belt jokers when their bedfellows allowed the Hausa, Fulani and Kanuri to acquire military styled weapons? It is very sad to watch a young Fulani teenage girl in northern region of Nigerian openly brandishing AK-47 in public when the people in middle belt and southern Nigeria can not openly carry bow and arrow without a question from the Nigerian authorities.

The fear of Biafra is driving Nigeria to a suicidal limit. Nigeria has given away Bakassi and now Islamic northern region of Nigeria is armed to the teeth while middle and southern Nigeria are not allowed to carry walking stick.
Well said Dede. The fear of Biafra is Nigeria's albatross. Most people of Nigeria do not know that justice, equity and fairness is what drove Ndigbo for Biafra: provide these and see the quest for Biafra fizzle away.
@topic,
Some of my teenagehood days was spent among Biafran war veterans of Middlebelt origin. Some of them were seriously deformed. Those men seriously regretted what happened and admitted that they were deceived. I was even given a piece of land by one of them now of blessed memory. Peaceful people I must tell you. One thing I noticed is that most people esp. Christians understand a general threat to their lives only when they have become victims themselves. To a degree of certainty, I can say that any MB man here on Nairaland who still insults Ndigbo has not been a victim. But my question remains: must we all (Christians) be victims before we identify the real enemy of freedom and peace here in Nigeria?

The key to reducing the concentration on Lagos is developing other coastal towns and cities just as is done in other progress oriented countries. Onitsha, PH and Calabar should come to mind. Today, if Lagos is attacked, Nigeria is finished. Its only a matter of time before BH hits a target in Lagos and nothing will happen. All I pray for is that the innocent will not be af3ected.

Reference: What if as part of conditions for cease-fire under amnesty BH asks Mr President to step down. What if they ask for the restoration of on-shore/off-shore dichotomy. What if they ask for the end of derivation and a halt to the PIB. You can't do anything cos you've agreed before negotiation the one and only outcome. What if they ask the President to pose nude before live t.v.

On a serious note because these people remain faceless and their only demands so far are considered extreme and unrealistic any grouping can hitch a ride on this amnesty gravy train to demand for anything. And my thoughts are simple. If you can elevate the stakes so high as to ask for the islamization of Nigeria then political issues and concessions will readily be accepted when tabled.

I'm 95% certain this is the end game. This is the Art of War. Those behind this terror group know their game well. The government is showing its hand too early. But they can gain the upper ground if they play their cards right. All might not be lost.
exactly! It is indeed the Art of War and I must say that the brains behind BH know their onions so well. However, its their last card they just played.
If GEJ must win this war, he needs the massive support of the people of Nigeria from other regions outside the core north. Notable groups and persons must launch direct attack on the northern elders seeking amnesty by proferring solutions that will threaten the positions of those boko haram sponsors seeking amnesty. Let them see threat and feel threatened. Then, you will see how their organization will be scattered. Personally, I suggest cutting off the boko haram endemic states from the rest of Nigeria and relocating the Christian minorities out of those states. I tell you, results will begin to surface. Let people from other regions not criticize GEJ if he does this but give him total support and I bet you results will surface.
If you allow another give you conditions in an issue between both of you, you can never win.

The tectonic plates beneath Nigeria though faulty all the while is just about to slide. Expect an eruption.
Criminals and vampires rewarded(compensated) while traumatised law abiding victims are not rehabilitated talk more of compensated. As long as you allow another man give you conditions in an issue between both of you, you can never win. This is the strategy of the core north's elders and by default the psychological prowess of the Hausa/Fulani in politics. We know them in and out. Unfortunately, it has always delivered them their expected victory. Until the majority of the people of Nigeria realize that the present Nigeria was designed to make them slaves and hence seek freedom, the much expected peace, progress and unity CAN NEVER BE ACHIEVED. The bond masters here are majorly the ACF members. SE was conquered by war, SW was conquered by giving the condition of a one mile corridor from Offa in Kwara state to Apapa Wharf or to join in the unjustified war used to conquer the SE. The SS was conquered by trickery- they were deceived, used against there own brothers and dumped while the Middlebelt were long sold to the bond masters by Lord Lugard. Today, CAN Northern region is crying genocide but nobody seem to have a voice to come to their aid. Doesn't it tell you something? From Bauchi, Plateau, Kaduna, Nassarawa, Borno, Benue etc, the carnage remains thesame by one and thesame aggressors but nobody seem to have the balls to challenge the status quo. Now amnesty for renowed serial vampires has practically been shoved down the president's throat and no strong group has come out to register their displeasure. Its a shame. I repeat if you allow the Hausa/Fulani to have their way, the complete conquest of Nigeria would be the greatest conquest of africans by indigenous africans.
However, some of us will do our bits for the love of mankind and posterity.
Adieu Nigeria!

Prof Corruption: SA is more developed, Nigeria is more influential.
You gave a simple and direct answer which is very true.
I'll try to expatiate for the jejunely minded.
Nigeria is more influential with respect to other african countries. Is it militarily, politically and socially(entertainment nollywood, sports and music).
1. How many countries even within Southern Africa has SA helped to stabilize? The last they went to in Central African Republic was unsuccessful.
2. What's SA's record in sports popular among africans and how many notable figures do they have in sports popular among africans compared to Nigeria?
3. Apart from Lucky Dube and Brenda Fassie, how many of their musicians are renowned at least in subsaharan africa? Though their movies are of world class standard, how many have so attracted the attention of other africans?
Nigeria with regards to influence on other africans is more influential than SA.
However, developmentally Nigeria(with the present political structure) even in the next 50yrs cannot come close to SA. Abuja of recent cannot be compared to any of their top 5 cities in infastructures. Tufia!
Which do you prefer? To be developed or influential?

Ezeife has a point there. We all know the FG WILL NOT do that. In Igbo it is called 'Ka ana chu aja ka ikpe n'ama ndi nmuo'. We have said and already done the needful. Here is an altruisic saying: 'if you want to win you must be prepared to lose'. This we guarantee you will end boko haram. Though it sounds wierd and defeatist, it will spark up a response that will see to the demise of bh. It is the Gideon Orkar recipe for a new Nigeria. Give the core northern states an ultimatum to call their people to other because bh have only succeeded because they are being shielded by the locals and sponsored by the elites after which if they fail, they will be excised out of Nigeria. Let the core north know that their is something big to lose with bh. Let them be on the hot seat and not the FG being on the side filled with conditions.
Now this is what the brain behind bh want to achieve.
1. Islamise nigeria by ALL means(purely religous).
2. To intimidate both indigenous northern christians and southern christians living in the north(politico-religious).
3. To make Nigeria ungovernable for GEJ thereby making him appear weak and helpless before the people of nigeria hoping that it would make the populace discredit him(purely political).
4. To kill many christians and chase away southern christians residing in the north which will make it difficult for GEJ to get the precise requirement as he got in 2011(political for the elites) and the business ideas and positions identified and developed by southerners residing in the core north would be seized by the bh sympathetic brothers(economic for hungry bh supporters).
5. To intimidate and pressure the other people of nigeria into accedding to policies that would help the muslim north have a better grip on nigeria(economic).
The core north have never been threatened before that is why they act so brazenly because to them they have almost nothing to lose(the other regions South and Middlebelt cannot come to a consensus and threaten them.
Scrutinize this opinion with a clear mind and you see the magic.
FACT.
BH is led by a nigerian, sponsored by nigerians and operated by mostly nigerians with few foreigners called aliens. Lol, these same aliens become nigerians once it comes to elections. Its so sad that the people of nigeria are very gullible to believe that bh are mostly aliens(foreigners).
Finally, if the Igbos must leave the north enmasse, then it means Nigeria is no longer safe for their living. Therefore, they can petition the UN and as well push for their own nation. The core north MUST know that we understand them very well and crippling the empire is not a big deal. We are watching.
