You need prayer, you shouldn't make biafra you should be left in the north after its emancipation now i agree with Yujin on all he said i dont think you're igbo you must be from the north
You lie through your teeth if i could block peeps on nairaland you will be the very first nairaland i block,
Nothing you will say on nairaland again both on culture thread and off culture thread would i take serious you lie to yourself, you should be feared

You're a northern i can see through your message
Now watch him avoid you. Fulanis thrives in putting a wedge among neighbouring tribes so they can easily have their way against each of them. It has been working for them for long. Do your research about the fulanis' foray into northern Nigeria and you'll be amazed at the type of people the people of Nigeria are playing with. They fear the Igbos so much because we're the backbone stopping them from taking over Nigeria.
His other names are Meles-Zenawi, Julius-Malema and a few others I can't remember now but I always notice his signature when he uses any moniker.

Yes it's all about your Biafran agenda and not genuine conviction that Ikwerre is Igbo. You need a platform to keep you attached with the South South.

You don't want to be in Nigeria but want to force yourself on the minorities because you feel you'll be in a position to do what you are accusing the northerners of doing and even worse. All those people you mentioned should also decide who they are and where they want to belong. Countries are not formed strictly by lumping the same ethnicity under one umbrella. Luxembourg, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Belgium and some other European countries still have native French and Germans but they are in different countries. Start your Biafra with your 5 Eastern states or even a few local government areas first then when you turn it to your Dubai as you claim, the rest of Nigeria and not just the South South will beg you to join.
We don't listen to the suggestions of our enemies.

As for the language can an ebony man understand the language of an IMO state or anambra man?
Seeing as they don't understand each other that means Ebony people are are not Igbos. undecided
Do not put your mouth in what you know nothing about. Have you ever in your life go to Ebonyi to listen to how they speak?

There are more similarities than you know for now because you don't even know the culture and traditions east of the Niger. You can visit their during ceremonies and festivities to observe for yourself. What are the common proverbs particularly from your town? Say them here and see that majority are found in almost all other Igbo clans.

Lol. What makes Kalabari to be Ijaw? Do they speak like Ijaws from Bayelsa? What about the Andonis? Do an Ijaw from Bayelsa understand him when he speaks? Yet you can call all of these groups Ijaw but want to call Ikwerres something else from Igbo. It is that same similarity that connects Kalabari to Ijaws in Bayelsa that connects Ikwerre to other Igbo clans.

If my community rejects being Igbo and identify as Japanese, everyone should respect their right to be Japanese. Lol

Lies!

Ezeh Obi Ossai of Aboh kingdom was the first Igbo king that met the British, and he clearly told them he and his people were Eboes and that the rest of the Eboes were across the Niger.
Simon Jonas an Igbo slave from Sierra Leone served as the interpreter between Ezeh obi Ossai of Aboh and the British.
The British even named Aboh as Eboe town and many speculate that the usage of Eboe to refer to all other Igbo speaking clans was forged and given birth to by the whites at Aboh. Once they started calling Aboh Eboe town, they decided that everyone else who spoke similar dialects as Aboh was Eboe.

Below is a link to colonial report on visit to Aboh and encounter between Ezeh Obi ossai, his son Chukwuma and the British colonial masters.
http://www.archive.org/stream/narrativeofexped01alle/narrativeofexped01alle_djvu.txt

Unlike other lying Igboid groups. Aboh history was well documented by the British, so it would be so hard for you lots to change history overnight.

Ukwuani happily identified as Igbo until 1970. That's the truth.
Oh so you know this yet you still occasionally accord some confused people from certain quarters cook up rubbish about Ukwuani here? All the Igbo clans will be referred to as Igbos by me until a referendum is done and they vote against Igbo consensus. Thereafter their fate will be sealed. Until then, certain elements no matter how influential they be will not make me reject the whole clan. Not to talk of the many serpents here from the Wastelands camouflaging as members of those clans. I won't pay attention to all those.

So Bubu has d strength to visit Mali.
The people of Nigeria are either suffering from selective amnesia or are overtly foolish. The body double Buhari went to Mali because fulanis are being handled properly there. The other tribes give fulanis doubt trouble for any one they bring. Fulanis are losing big time there hence the fulani elites from Nigeria sent him there to speak for their people. That is the only peace that makes sense to fulanis. When their people are dying more in numbers, it is then they seek peace. Here in Nigeria, they're winning hence no need for peace. Thousands will be killed before the end of this year to confirm what I'm saying. No fulani will talk about peace as long as they're winning.
Don't just agree with me... Google about the fights in Mali to understand better.

Have they ever travelled to any fulani territory to attack them? You can only fool people here on nairaland who don't know the reality on ground. Well said! Igbo political elites are yet to figure out the game maybe because of greed or due to ignorance. Who in his right mind should be discussing about being the president when you clearly will be frustrated and rendered useless? They've forgotten how GEJ was really battled until his wife even cried openly on the media. Even Goodluck himself seem to have forgot that they fought and ensured he didn't have the peace to carry out his plans. Nigeria was designed to fail and it has failed woefully. The more it lingers, the more destruction it does to its inhabitants. Some southern elites know this but because they're scared to be involved in the fight to free their people, they just shut their mouth and join in the loot. All of them will regret their present silence soon. Who would believe that the men held in who were once held in high esteem will have their statues brought down by mind in USA and even other western countries? It is the cries of their victims that have been heard. The actions they committed 100s of years ago are been condemned today. You elites who know the truth but remain shut will be condemned soon and no one will have any good memory of you.

Let me give you an insider information. The current Igbanke mainstream are breaking away from Ika tag. Their politicians and their lackeys in Edo government led by Gloria Adagbon are pushing for establishment of Igbanke ethnic nationality, distinct from Ika.

The idea is that claiming Ika is making them outsiders in Edo state, and tha their claims to Ika doesn't sit well with the Binis whose Bininization drive on Igbanke are on steroids.
Igbankes also feel left out and not being carried along by Ikas in Delta state.

So any Igbanke that tells you he is Igbanke, is actually political. Because that's the current political decision of the people. The apolitical ones among them will tell you that they are Ika.
Ok. At least the Ika nationality proponents will understand what pan-Igbo nationalists are saying.

I've met an Okpe guy who told me he's not Urhobo. I asked him what the difference was and he couldn't give me any clear answer. Personally, I see both Isokos and Urhobos as the same people. After reading a lengthy piece from Obaro Ikime on the subject matter, all I could get is just the overbloated need for recognition of clan identity mostly for political expediency. It was difficult for me to understand why a brilliant Professor like him will stick to the dichotomy but then it's non of my business.
One thing all these tribes in the South are doing don't know is that they appear foolish before others just because of leadership failure. No big tribe is made up of one clan. Even the Jews who could trace their history to one man- Abraham later became 12 tribes of Israel with dialectical differences. Remember the 'Sibboleth and Shibboleth' story they used to identify one specific tribe? Even they later had the Samaritans different from the Jews but today the story has changed. They're looking all over the world for their people with a DNA match to claim. No more you're this or that.
When danger lurks, all these divisions will cease.

Itsekiris are quite different from Yorubas and they've always been like that for over 200 yrs now. They're among the first people to meet the European explorers and their history is clear enough. In the 60s when a vote was cast to remain with the Yorubas or move to Midwest, they choose to leave the Yorubas clearly because they're not Yorubas. Their language is Yoruboid though.

And the current Ohanaeze secretary general is an Ikwerre man.

I'm not trying to force the Ikwerres into the Igbo group though
No one is forcing anyone to be Igbo. You don't choose your ethnic origin. You can choose what group you identify with though. Today, the opportunities that come with identifying as Igbo is so enormous that any Igbo clan that does otherwise will be suffocating itself. The few Ikwerres that have left Rivers state will easily see this just like Amaechi. Even outside Nigeria, all these Igbo clans easily blend in and make things easier for themselves. Only local folks domiciled entirely in Rivers still revel in those post Biafran war tales of survival. Igbos have risen to success all over the world through sheer hardwork and the grace of God. It's obvious and audible to all. Therefore, our saying that Ikwerres are Igbos isn't borne out of anything apart from ancestry and language. For God sake, what do I gain from claiming Ikwerres are Igbos? Nothing. It doesn't put food on my table nor open doors for me. Why didn't I claim the same for Ogonis and Andonis? Simply because they're not Igbos. The Kalabaris despite the level of intermarriage are still not called Igbos because they're not.

I doubt if you are Etche because as a Rivers man from Ikwerre, i know and have etchie friends who know their history which is not related to Igbo.

If you are truly etche then you’re a disgrace to etchie people. You went to the university in Lagos, instead of you to form your cultural group, you decided to join igbo cultural group. The etches in Rivers state universities do they have their own cultural group or join the igbos? Of course they have their own cultural group in Rivers state universities but yet you went to Lagos to betray your people that is why i doubt if you’re truly Etche.

Another thing is that, you lack true history. If you don’t know your history, then you don’t know where you come from, and that is your problem.

Ikwerre,Ekpeye, Ogba and Etche people are not Igbos and have never been Igbos.
But Chibuike Amaechi said he has Igbo heritage. What's your response on that issue?
Politics › Re: My Question For Ikwerre, Epkeye And Anioma Groups. by Yujin(m): 6:31am On Jul 22, 2020

I've always maintained the fact that people are who they say they are whether or not they're playing politics with it and that is why for a while now i've come to accept Ikwerres as a distinct ethnic group because they're far gone and nothing can make them Igbo again. Infact, some of them have resorted to lies just to push this non-Igbo narrative but it's still acceptable, afterall there are are ethnic groups in other parts of the world that have similar language and culture.

Now for other Igboid groups in Rivers and Delta States especially Etche/Omuma, Ndoki, Aniocha/Oshimili, i've always wondered why they would deny being Igbo when they're the most Igbotic of the Igboid groups in Delta and Rivers state. For some reason, i can give a pass to Ikwerre, Ekpeye, Ukwuani, Ika and Ndoni but the former groups i mention are unmistakably Igbo and not just because of language and culture but because they are contiguous with Igboland and if not for state creation that took them to a different state, they would have naturally been in either Abia/Imo or Anambra.

I like the fact that the OP opened his mind and did his research and come to a logical conclusion which is what many people cannot do because they want to take their current narrative to the grave. Even though i don't think you need a research to see that you are Igbo. By your language and the culture/traditions you practice, it should be seld evident.
I've known you for long on nairaland and have understood your position on this issue. I just want you to always bear in mind whatever you're writing here doesn't go down well with a lot of evil minded people when it is pan-Igbo. Stop trying to be academic for anyone. No Igbo clan is more Igbo than the other and the only group that can be considered Igboid is Ekpeye. The Ukwuanis you see are one of the most famous Igbo clans of old that European explorers met and interviewed their Obi at Aboh yet you're referring to them as 'Igboid'. The Ika that you speak of is one of the strongest Igbo clan I've studied so far. Despite their proximity to Benin, their language structure remained Igbo with dilutions of bini words. They have the Ikenga cult and the wooden statues are clearly similar to those East of the Niger. What makes them Igboid? Nothing. The Ndonis are just an extension of the Ukwuanis just like Oguta people in Imo. The Ikwerres are also not Igboid. Their dialect is clear enough to make them just another clan. The bini story is very ridiculous as not a single thing connects them to Bini. Their denial like OP said was for survival so that the leeches nearby won't have to claim their land. It will be nice if you can see it this way; always maintain their Igbo ancestry no matter what and discuss their politics as the case may be when the need arise. Don't dance to the tune of our numerous enemies. All Igbo clans remain Igbo despite their denials. Fulanis will still call a similar traditional tribe in far Senegal thousands of kilometres away as fulani but you're calling a contiguous Ikwerreland a lost case. I wonder how some us do things. So because one of your brothers decided for any reason to deny your family, hence you'll join as say likewise of him? Let's think and write bearing a lot in mind.
