Politics › Re: My Question For Ikwerre, Epkeye And Anioma Groups. by Yujin(m):

So why do you think they were not carved into Imo and Abia? During the regional government when the Igbos were at the helm of affairs, did they see and treat these people as Igbos? Do your research and find out the atrocities these people suffered in their hands. Till now do they really see you as Igbo if not for their political convenience because they feel it's what gives them the right to say that they must include the South South in their Biafra instead of the true Biafra of the 5 Eastern States.

I would suggest that you make effort to convince the rest of your family members to accept being Igbo first before addressing other ethnic groups just based on your experience at Yaba polytechnic.
Son of the fallen demon... always seeking for ways to sow discord among Igbos. The thread was for Igbo groups but a smelly ewedu gubbler like you couldn't bear it hence you had to jump in and continue causing problems. The same you wish among Igbos will be in multiples among your people.

Who's even responding to the notorious impostor Meles Zenawi? What concerns a fulani with Igbo issues? You guys must stop giving him any attention. Fulanis are vampires sucking blood since 1804. Any where they set foot will soon come to desolation. Don't indulge the impostor and let the thread die.
Igbos are proud of all their brilliant people and Mercy Chinwo Nnenda is one of them.

In my first post, I did acknowledge Arochukwu and some Abia clans, but does that qualify the entire Igbo tribe as culpable?

U have to consider that Igbo were their victims.

U further have to acknowledge that the idea came via Efik and spread to Kalabari which is still Calabar extension circling the igbo hinterland.

It was no accident, they were specifically in search of Igbos from the hinterland as slave.
STOP WRITING WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW!
It was some Igbo groups that raided other Igbo groups for slave trade. No non-Igbo groups dared to enter into the hinterland for slaves. Mind you, there was slavery actively existing in all of Africa before the Europeans came. This type of slavery isn't like the barbarity the Europeans forced black people into in the new world.
Aros were the chief slave traders in the eastern flank of Igboland. They sold both to the Efiks and to the Ibanis at Bonny.

Lol. All the comments above points to one single thing... No respect for the opinions of the minorities in the South. Can any of the above posters tell the world how the over 60yrs of oil exploitation benefited the region from where the oil was drilled? No infrastructure, no development and no even clean environment for the region. How then can the new exploitation of the gas to be tunneled throw the north to Morocco going to benefit these minority tribes? Industries will be built up in the north where workers from the source of the gas will be less than 5%. I wonder what manner of people support the on going in Nigeria.
The late Adaka Boro revolted because an oil refinery was built in Port Harcourt. He accused his cousins for not building it at the site of the exploration and thereafter started fighting them. He even supported strangers from the Sahel against his cousins in a war to 'liberate' him and his family. Today the strangers have built two refineries in their own land hundreds of kilometers away from Adaka Boro's region where his family will never be able to get a job. They've polluted the land and water of his family and left them in abject poverty. Few of his children who struggle to make noise will be given crumbs to jostle among themselves. Other times, they're given security jobs for guarding the pipelines and surprisingly they're content with it. Now I wonder what Adaka Boro would say if he was alive.
To the topic, it's a good thing that the Ijaws, Itsekiris and Urhobos are uniting for this cause. Don't let any stories create division in your ranks and above all else, think about the future. Nigeria has no future for you. Non of the request you made will be granted so why waste your time asking/begging for the same things? Think about your future.

Britain has been in alliance with Fulanis since independence. Britain are using Fulanis to hold Nigeria back.

They know the potential of Nigeria that it can be world power like USA. So they r intentionally undermining Nigeria using fulani thirst for domination.

USA wanted to come to our aid, but they saw the handwriting of their mother England. They back off.

You saw how Buhari was welcomed in Britain before 2015 in election. Some people don't understand the alliance between the Brits and Fulanis.

This is awful you know.
Couple of days ago the BAUCHI governor said more soldiers are needed in the fight insurgency in Nigeria. What came to mind was lambs being led to the slaughter.

Having watched alot of foreign action thrilled movies, I've come to know that to truly defeat terrorism, its not necessarily by combat but by intelligence gathering. But what do i know, its Nigeria we are talking about. A shit hole country
You got it right... sacrificial lambs. Now let me give you a twist to the whole game. When most of the non-moslems avoid the NA, what then does the NA become? It becomes a complete Hausa/fulani army with the vast arms and ammunition of Nigeria under their control. No one will be able to know the logistics of their plans. It's a double edged sword at play here. Kill them in numbers using boko haram or let them refuse to join so we control the army completely. Remember the Yoruba general who complained about the happenings in the battle field? He was promptly transferred out of the theatre. The Hausa/fulanis have seen the weakness of the other tribes entirely and they don't even fear anything more. Southerners in the army will always say that they're are not been given good weapons to use in fighting boko haram whereas Shekau will show videos of how his boys overpowered a military barracks and took away sophisticated weapons yet foolish southerners can't connect the dots.
Let this be clear today to all ethnic groups that are still confused on the present happenings in Nigeria. The Hausa/fulanis are after complete subjugation of Nigeria. They can sacrifice anything for it including millions of their people. The reward is too great for them to think otherwise. Part of the reasons why there's killings in their region is to make you confused into thinking the insecurity is general. Don't be fooled by them. Think firstly about the survival of your ethnic group and region. Make alliances that can guarantee you this and work towards achieving protecting your land. Failure to do this will make you and your people lose your lands and become refugees forever that's only if you survive.

It is very possible. Yorubas are the martyrs for Nigeria survival. To make the situation really bad, naturally, yorubas have large heart they accommodate people and trust easily. IBOs hate Yorubas with passion. Hausas don't like Yorubas because they see Yorubas as threat to domination of Nigeria.

While IBOs come online to insult Hausas, in the real live, they are the Hausa slaves. From Abuja to Maiduguri, from NNPC to NPA and Federal Secretariat to Parastatals, you find IBOs licking the boots of Hausa/Fulani, becoming willing slaves to Hausas. They are the best of friends. The IBOs blackmail the Yorubas to make money in FG MDAs and Northern cities. I often wonder if Hausa / Fulani don't read online news or don't visit social media.

On the issue of this guy being shot for killing Boko Haram, it is possible. On the issue of resignation from the military, it is possible, they call it 'discharge' in the military. There is discharge on completion of the required service years, discharge on medical ground and others I don't want to enumerate. I have lost so many people to Boko Haram fight. Some of them, our communications before loss of communication which means they are gone without notice of casualties were very emotional and pathetic.
Igbos have said they want Nigeria divided. The Hausa/fulanis have shown they only want a country were they dominate everyone and do as they please. The Yorubas are after a Nigeria where they can get crumbs as long as Igbos are out of the equation. If it isn't so, with all the happenings today you Yeribas should have known that no group of reasonable people would be proud of getting crumbs from the land of their ancestors.
You left the topic and start insulting Igbos. How does that address the challenge at hand. It's better you and you people face reality and join the mission of breaking Nigeria so all regions can control their destiny. A stitch in time saves nine.

Ayegba Abdullahi is suffering from small tribe syndrome.

To him, if there's the slightest mention of Igala in the traditions concerning a community, it doesn't matter whether or not there is corroborative evidence in support of those traditions, it doesn't matter whether the community speaks Igala or identifies as Igala, that community is Igala and must be counted as part of Igalaland.

That is the most pitiable indices of ethnic group membership that I have ever heard. Imagine, Bida the heart of Nupe ethnicity being listed as Igala territory because of a tradition that Tsoede has Igala roots? By that same logic, Idah is Igbo because Ebulejonu found an Igbo man (Achadu) there when she came.
Lol. This is really funny. One thing I noticed is that Igbo's and Igalas did really mix for sure. Northern Enugu and Anambra, Eastern Anioma especially down to Ukwuani. There are two names that I assume are exclusive to Nsukka and Ukwuani in all Igboland viz Ossai and Alumona. Do you know anything about this?
I've also got some ideas from this thread. It never really occurred to me that the Ukwunzu's and Ugbodu's could have Igala links and not really from the Yoruba side like it's been assumed. Igala language is Yoruboid and it's closer to the area than Yorubaland. What's your take on this?

Because they fear and hate the truth. The moderator who removed it is a youth and he was full of hate for my matured and altruistic way of responding to Arthur Eze especially as the post started to rack up likes. I know the mode who did it. He usually goes to my previous posts and deletes them quietly. When I checked my 'mentions' page, I saw more than 40 deleted posts in the last 5 months. He's threatened by my posts as it contains ideas to galvanize Ndigbo towards seeking for our own good.
I've always warned Igbos who still believe in Nigeria about the frenemies that surround them. Some of these people will prefer to remain slaves or even die in suffering just so that Igbos won't have a breathe of fresh air. It is very evident in their posts and actions.

My post directed at Arthur Eze devoid of a single insult was removed by a so called moderator. I have to be very frank with you fam, two things become very obvious from your comments:

A deep-rooted ignorance spiced with an over-arching self-consuming hatred.

But in case you wish to be enlightened, then consider the following simple and straightforward information:

(1) The Ijebu defensive wall system (The Sungbo Eredo) dates to centuries earlier than the Benin defensive wall system (The Iya).

So, if you choose to insist on the weird idea that one group influenced the other, then you should at least be consistent enough to say that the Ijebus influenced the Binis (at least in this specific sphere of architecture).

(2) Moreover, defensive wall systems are found all over Yorubaland in pre-colonial times, and some of these are observed and documented by Captain Clapperton and Richard Lander during their travels through Yorubaland in the 1800s.

Mary Ann Barber's "Oshielle, Or, Village Life in the Yoruba Country (1857)", also contains some descriptions of "The polished walls ... [which] shine ... "like the rain clouds, beautifully black,"".

BTW: The general Yoruba words for "town-wall" are "Odi" or "Ìyàrà".

Lol. I'm not in ignorant man on the history of West Africa and certainly not not foolish to have a hatred of a history that doesn't concern or affect me.
With regards to the Sungbo Eredo moats, even the name gives a hint. Moats are quite different from walls. Kingdoms can afford to build walls as can be seen in other Yoruba and Hausa kingdoms.
The question any intelligent man will ask is for what purpose was the moat built in Ijebuland? Who was the greatest threat that the Ijebus faced to have built the moat? No Kingdom builds a moat of such magnitude just for normal security. It is an empire styled construction that requires thousands of dedicated workers (slaves from vassals) to build. Even Ife can't boast of such. Only Benin or another empire that preceded it could have built such. The 'bilikisu' story is just funny and a clear case of a concocted fairytale. What does 'eredo' mean in Ijebu dialect?

"History of Dahomey" by the European slave trader Archibald Dalzel who lived in Dahomey in the 1700s recounts Oyo's ascendancy over Dahomey and others.

Attached below are some interesting screenshots from the work.

cc: Trinitykey
How does this prove Oyo was an empire? I'm aware of this history where the Oyo kingdom at its height forced Abomey to pay tributes. This lasted for about 40years until a new Fon King emerged and called off the bluff of Oyo. That was the genesis of the famous dahomean amazons. Oyo no doubt was great but it never grew to become an empire. The distinctive features of an empire is having a number of diverse nations under the control and use of their conquerors. Oyo was not so. If there's any description of Oyo's political domination of numerous nations incorporating them into the organisation of her political stratagem, state it here and I'll apologise and keep shut.
There are reasons why some strong kingdoms who's army defeated numerous of their neighbours and collect tribute from these defeated nations are not classified as empires. Find out about what I said then you'll understand why Oyo was never an empire despite it's successful stint among few small tribes around her.

Lol. I guess Olaudah was far smarter than you are today. It takes an extra intelligent person to manage to buy his freedom in days many were afraid of how to survive on their own. About 100 years after Olaudah wrote, when slaves in America were finally freed, many remained with their former slave owners as workers.
Intelligence is from childhood.

Funny that everything about igboness Olaudah wrote are credible, but the mention of Benin makes suddenly not smart enough at 12 to know.

You guys are very funny. You forget that Olaudah later travel widely as a free man and slave abolitionists. He had the wherewithal to cross check his childhood memory and could have edited his book if it wasn't all correct.
Of course Olaudah was a very intelligent man no doubt but geography is something that is learnt and not just thought out. Without well detailed maps, anyone could get lost.
The map of West Africa even at his time wasn't detailed so he couldn't even as an adult pinpoint exactly where was from.
Why am I even wasting my time on you? Ukwuanis in present day Anioma didn't have Benin political influence talk more of crossing the Niger. Aboh was a force to be reckoned with as at the time and you must get passed towns like Aboh on the western part or Onitsha, Nnewi and lots of other Igbo towns to get to Ihiala which shares boundary with present day Imo state. Do you see how improbable it is for Benin to have had any political influence on Isseke? You can check Google map to understand better. This is my last reply to you on this topic.

80% of history of my dual roots, I knew before the age of 12. Including royal & imperial oral history. In those days, prayers at shrines may have ended with "oba ghatokpere, ki ade pe l'ori or the equivalent in Igboid language where Olauda was born and raised. Also stories about affiliation with Benin are not things beyond the comprehension of kids under 12. Having awareness of sovereignty of the Oba over areas in the West & East can't be that hard.
Certainly not in his days. We're talking about 300 years ago when communication and interaction was minimal. Stories of the might of the empire would have been widespread but a 12years boy of those days won't be able to tell for certain the political commitment of his village. Use your head. There's no record of benin activity close to the River. Their activity was mostly around the Ika and Aniocha north axis of Anioma.
