The nsude pyramids are way older than those in Egypt but was destroyed by the Oyibo. There is an upcoming Igbo forum that will soon be launched strictly for enthusiasts that must be igbos. Shiver99: How very disheartning, hopefully the new spark in igbo conciousness/nationalism I'm seeing recently can trigger an Igbo renaissance. Mine started during my secondary school days in the north. Nothing happening in Nigeria today surprises me because I've been able to project the dots due to my discoveries of our history. Ndigbo must do more than we're doing today. The work before us is very enormous such that we must perish any little bragging that we so much crave. The work is very big but the reward is bigger. Most African Americans including other new world Africans are desperately looking for a home to be proud of. Among all the others, we've had a good record already even during the many revolts of the slave trade era. They just want to hear a good news from our home to latch on. We owe them this. The reward for us standing up tall is so great that I wish my brothers will perish every thought of parochiality and focus on nation building. We must be ready to sacrifice our all for this project. We must start by building our home first. |

Shiver99: Can anybody say that there are any solid Pan - Igbo, Igbo nationalism/renaissance focused groups that are focused on investing in research about Igbo history?
Does anyone here have any suggestions or ideas on how local archeaologists and historians can be energised and funded in order to undertake this important, significant and extremely necessary task? Unfortunately, I don't think there's any at the moment. The most prominent of all the Igbo archeologists is Prof. Onwuejeogwu from Anioma. He did excellently well to prove the links between different Igbo clans and show case the beauty of Igbo tradition and historical chronology. Other notable archeologists are Afigbo, Elizabeth Isichei and Caroline Acholonu. These people were rare assets that the Igbo nation have been unable to replace. Till date, most Igbos don't know that there was a pyramid built in Igboland. That heap of slag from Iron smelting I believe is in or around Nsukka and most Igbos youths don't know about it. Since Nigeria has failed us, I think Igbo social study teachers should make it an effort to study these archeological works of those people I mentioned earlier and use their findings to teach our young ones the achievement of our ancestors. This will go a long way to boost their awareness and creativity. We have to be passionate about Igbo nation by researching stuffs ourselves. |
Politics › Re: Forty Fulani Facts Most Yeroba Muslims Do Not Know by Yujin(m): 8:27am On Aug 12, 2020 |
Frankdoz9: FORTY FULANI FACTS MOST YEROBA MUSLIMS DO NOT KNOW
Fulani feudalism is real and it is why we cannot reason same way. What Islam means to FULANI is ‘OCCUPATION AND USURPATION OF THE CONQUERED BY FULANI OLIGARCHY KINGDOM’.
But what Islam means to others is Religion. Beware of the two-headed snake! Thus, 1. the Fulani MUST lead the prayer over Hausa or any other tribe.
2. Fulani must be respected anywhere as the SHEHU even among the blind in Lagos or BORNU or KANO.
3. Till date, the Fulani may take the sons of Hausa, castrate them and use them as domestic guard over his harem of women. No Nigerian Press has ever inquired into this. 4. Till date, it is sacrilege for Hausa to raise his voice over or against Fulani man.
5. Hausa man’s luck in anything must come from Fulani. Else, he is a SLAVE forever!. 6. Every Fulani is encouraged to speak also Hausa but Hausas hardly learn Fulfude. 7. Till date, FULANI claim the right to belong or rule any Northern State or territory. 8. Till date, Hausa has no right to own land only as a tenant of the local chief.
He must pay rents in form of produce every year! 9. All Emirs are Fulani. Most Governors and Senators in Hausa populated territories are Fulani. Most ministerial and juicy appointments under the current government are systematically handed to people of Fulani extraction who are residing in different states in the North. Fulani would rather support Igbo or Yoruba for the office of President for fear of Hausa rising to position of power and influence that will alter the status quo. Fulani will never gamble with this.
10. Before the conquest, Hausas were never Muslims. They had their cultures & traditions like us. But now, IT MUST BE FORGOTTEN mostly.
11. The ease of inflicting strong archaic Sharia by the north is a ploy to retain the CHAIN over the Hausa.
12. Those who chose to stay in the South most early are mostly Hausas, but a Fulani would soon come and colonize them as "Leader" or shehu. So, they lose their freedom mostly. 13. Only few Hausas are able to escape totally and blend into other tribes through marriage etc.
14. As such, CASTE system is being run in Nigeria by Fulani against the Hausa.
15. When a Fulani starts a trade or business including transportation, wholesale of goods etc, ALL HIS EMPLOYEES are mostly Hausa who are regarded as slaves and dare not steal or refuse to labour cheaply.
It is a sacrilege for an Hausa to rise against him in competition. 16. When LAND & liberty is not inherited from your 3rd or more generation, do you still wonder the result of POVERTY among these Hausas rightly labelled as TALAKAWAS? It is a caste system.
18. Each time you struggle for the NIGERIA project, the preoccupation of the Fulani is how to preserve the North from being snatched away from them.
17. All your governmental apparatus mean nothing to Fulani. For example, you know very well how HAUSA is dying in silence under Fulani stranglehold.
18. If Fulani perpetrates gargantuan political CRIMES over you, and you shout HAUSA ? or at best Hausa/Fulani. It please them because that’s the name they coined to mask who they really are. It is now that people are waking up to these deceitful strangers.
19. In psychology and sociology, MASTERS/ CONQUERORS have no feelings for anything they do against their SLAVES! So, next time you see anyone gets away with dastardly acts, know that he is either a Fulani or working for Fulani interests.
20. How to make it in Nigeria? Simple, put your head under Fulani oligarchies as Arisekola, Danjuma, Uzordimma, etc did. They will throw Nigeria's money upon your laps. You will be blind to your environment and oppress your people to suit Fulani schemes. Thereafter they will ROB U OFF when they feel like!!!!
21. By the time people like OBJ are gone, Yorubas will start to smell their true odour in hell fire. But if anyone expects that OBJ will support Yoruba race openly more than he has done, that will be a mistake.
22. Greatest evil in Nigeria is that the entire Hausa race are oppressed without any ray of hope, yet others mostly from the south never know or care about their true identity and suffering.
23. The greatest offence that Awolowo commited was not anything more than saying: "I will educate the TALAKAWAS" (Hausa "slaves" and they will realise themselves and rise against you". Jonathan joined in the mistake when he announced his Almajiris program!
24. The only intermittent respite experienced in Nigerian political space is only when a Fulani Ally is fighting Fulani interests as in the case of Abacha against the Caliphate when he tried to change the oligarchical power and control in the North from Sultan of Sokoto to Shehu of Borno (of Kanuri tribe).
25. You now know WHO & WHY THEY DO NOT WANT YOU TO STUDY HISTORY IN SCHOOLS AGAIN!!!! Nigerian Professors of History know more about Europe and America than Nigeria.
26. You can now know why no one is encouraging the ALMAJIRIS to be educated and liberated. They are young slaves in the hand of a Fulani Imams who discourage them from going to school!!!
27. Next time you see POVERTY in the North, take a good look around to also see that there's an alhaji nearby in sprawling wealth! He OWNS them. This is how it works for them.
28. What about the emerging powers of even the Normadic Fulani? Uthman Dan Fodio invited them from Futa Jalon in 1804 to fight the battle that conquered Sokoto.
The allegiance remains that they protect the interests of one another. GREATER THREAT IS THAT CHILDREN OF NORMADIC FULANIS (Cattle rearers) NOW WANT TO SETTLE DOWN.
The recent killings and land grabbings by Fulani herdsmen under the watchful eyes of the government is a pointer to this.
29. *One Nigeria project?* Yes, its OK inasmuch as Fulani control is not jeopardized. Who do you think are the Forex traders? And their slaves abound to serve them.
30. In as much as it enriches the Fulani your conquerors, how dare you expect Nigeria not to SELL her labours cheaply every week and NAIRA diminishes in value EVERY DAY since almost 30years ago!
31. You now know WHAT *LAW AGAINST HATE SPEECH* IS ABOUT! Just like attempt to remove history from schools!
32. Let your children know the NIGERIA they are born in and her political consequences. *There's nothing like RELIGIOUS consequences in Nigeria.* (Know this).
RELIGION as far as Fulani is concerned is a political tool of oligarchic and political control. 33. You now know why Shehu Shagari, Shehu Kangiwa, Shehu Malami etc had to get modal opportunities, even at Barewa College. When next you want to liberate Nigeria from the Fulani, or cut away part of it, remember that FULANI is the owner, and has FOOT SOLDIERS! 34. Fulani tool of oligarchy is rife: For example, ask yourself: HOW MANY FULANI died at the stadium trying to get employed in the Customs?
35. How do Fulani get employment - since they don't write application letters? *Meditate* on this. When you gain admission to NDA on quota basis for example, they retire as many others at the rank of major. Whosoever sails through has to do with whom he/she knows. 36.
Every Fulani is SPONSORED, but you sponsor yourself. So, know why you don't try query him at work or try make him follow the rules.
37. Every Fulani or their allies born outside Nigeria can come here to get more rights and privileges over YOU!
38. Which customs officer will dare search a rich Fulani alhaji at the borders? 39. There was one Alhaji Mandara in Sokoto in the '70s, he trafficked petroleum products by the Sokoto -Illela axis. No customs officer dared stop his illegal fleet? 40.
I was classmate to as many of the Fulanis in the North. Till date, none of them is on the Alumni platform. They know we are not equals and we cannot understand. So, we continue to claim Oyibo certificates. They know who will get NNPC or CBN jobs. They know who will get Jumbo contracts to maintain Port Harcourt Refinery the way he likes not caring if it breaks down irretrievably due to non-challant maintenance? The answer is in Yoruba adage: "Ti ile kan ba n toro, omo ale ibe ni ko i dagba" (if a house is at peace, it is because the bastard there is not yet grown up). Tell your children. Don't let them continue to make noise over the Nigeria Project that is not working. It is simply because we come to roost with strange bed fellows. Succinctly put! I couldn't have written this better. One question I have for any person with doubt to this article is this; when last did you see any politician from the north address himself as a Hausa man? The least such a person can do is to call himself a Hausa/fulani. The Hausas have been silenced in their ancestral land. |

Because the article said they were in nsude so I used google earth and as I was going over a forest. I found a clearing in it where I saw something that looked similar to a stepped pyramid. Could it be true, I’m not sure but if it is. Please forward it and retweet so it can reach the rightful people. If there is more in the surrounding area this could be one of the greatest archaeological finds in not just nigerian but also igbo history. Imagine what other artifacts could be laying around it. So please help me. You’ll have to zoom in to be able to see it I've also wondered if those pyramids we're still around. Sadly, I'm not near enough to embark on the search mission. Culture › Re: Why Is Motherhood So Important To Igbo And Yoruba Culture? by Yujin(m): 2:53pm On Aug 10, 2020 |
onesouza: Hi, I'm from Brazil. I'm a researcher in Literature and Culture and I want to open my mind about other cultures. I want to learn how important is motherhood in other cultures. I'm Igbo and will write to the best of my knowledge. Firstly, I'll welcome you in Igbo by saying "Nnoo". Now, mothers occupy a very important part of the world and life among my people. In fact, Igbos believe that motherhood is very essential for the survival of both the individual and community. From the earth goddess 'Ana', 'Ani', 'Ala', 'Ali' who is regarded as mother of mankind, the provider of all crops that sustains life to the mother that begets a child who's seen to protect and nurture her child both in life and death. It's no doubt why all Igbos hold their mother's in high esteem. The earth goddess, 'Ala' was once highly venerated with shrines and houses built in her honour and invocations done in her name for the prosperity of the land. The Igbo concept of burial is believed to be the return of the dead person to the bosom of the great mother for a peaceful rest until he's reincarnated to the world of the living hence not every dead person is seen to be fit/qualified for burial. People who's activities while alive were considered abominable to 'Ala' fall into this category. People who's death are seen not to be 'proper' also fall into this category and are not committed into the earth. They're cast into the evil forest where their spirits wander about restlessly. This religious aspect has waned drastically as Igbos are mainly Christians today. Socially, the concept of motherhood among Igbos is one that has survived to this very day as mothers still play very important role in the life of the children and family in general. Igbo mothers are expected to teach and equip their children with skills to keep the home going smoothly and these skills most times are irrespective of gender. They're expected to instruct their offsprings on their social responsibilities including the famed interpretation of the numerous proverbs, idiomatic and figurative expressions that characterize the everyday Igbo life. They're expected never to abandon their children but rather do everything to bring them up into being responsible members of the society. They'll toil and deprive themselves of luxuries just to ensure that their offsprings are giving the proper provisions to aid their success in life and in turn, their children are expected to give them their respect and loyalty till the end. The offsprings are to start the gradual appreciation of their mothers when they get married and procreate by inviting the mother for a 'nurture visit' popular known as 'Omugwo'. Here, the mother of either of the couples will visit them after a safe child birth to aid the recently put to bed wife with house chores and post natal treatment of her body for quick recovery including cooking traditional cuisines that have over the years proved to be helpful. At the expiration of her visit, the couples are expected to shower her with items and gifts of appreciation as she proceeds back to her home. The Igbos captured the value placed on motherhood with this common name that Igbo women bear "Nneka" which simply means 'Mother is supreme. While in the school hostel during my undergraduate days, I noticed that most Igbo boys myself inclusive had a piece of wrapper(a large piece of loose cloth most Igbo women tie round their waist) that we use to cover ourselves before we sleep. I did sense it was symbolic of we carrying the warmth of our mothers with us as we sleep. In Igbo tradition, it is abominable to drag an erring child out of his mothers grip/bosom irrespective of the crime he committed. Whatever the case, the child having succeeded to run into his mothers hands must be left untouched and his crime discussed and punished another time. Finally, it is worthy to note that the family of any mother(Ikwunne or Ibenne) among Igbos is considered the last sanctuary for her child. Whatever pursues a man from his father's compound, kindred or clan and he seeks refuge in his maternal family home is expected to cease the pursuit. This is interpreted as him running into his mothers bosom for safety. There are special names a man is called in his maternal home and that relationship is highly respected till date. I do hope this helps in your research. You're welcome to ask further questions on any thing about Igbos that you don't know or understand. |

ebbo: Southern kaduna people are the only one that can stop the killings going on in there place, by avoiding any confrontation with the fulanis and stop the killings of Fulani's and their cows secretly after little misunderstanding. By allowing the law to take its course when a fulani man commit an offence not generalizing every fulani man as a criminal. If not, southern kaduna natives or the security agents wont be able to stop the fulanis at all because they are the masters of the bush path. They ve the resources, cooperation and knows their ways around the bushes which we don't know about. You are a fulani and aiding the criminality of your goons makes you complicit. There's a saying that if the passage of a man in any locality is accompanied by tales of woe, then the fault is from him. These present bloodbath in Kaduna has been witnessed in Plateau, Taraba, Adamawa, Benue, Nasarawa and even Southern states and the recurrent name has been fulani. It's not difficult to see that the problem is from them. Therefore, I want you to bear it in mind that your day of recompense is coming fast. After watching the video of this brave man, I'd wanted to laugh at his naivety but on a second thought, I decided to applaud his courage. We need courageous men like him who prefer to fight than just run away. He made an appeal to Nigerian lawyers to join him in the battle yet non so far have come out in his defence. However if it we're a case of attacking IPOB, these so called lawyers will be falling over themselves in the bid to quote all 'quotables' on why Biafra shouldn't be allowed. Corporal Martins just joined the ranks of revolutionaries like Chukwuma Nzeogwu and Gideon Orkar. He unfortunately didn't study history to learn from the mistakes of these men. If he did, he won't have ended in the hands of the vampires at the helm of affairs. While Chukwuma was betrayed by some of his colleagues, Gideon left loose ends untied before going to make his ascension public. It hurts till date that those men failed. Corporal Martins should have known that Nigeria has no soul and majority of people within her subconsciously aware of this hence they can't stake their lives for it. He should have championed the cause for the middle belt and not Nigeria. He should have visited Sowore and Deji for lessons. I feel for his family. I'll definitely remember his courage. He should have done a physical damage... That would have been more effective. Nigeria is not worth fighting for. |

MetaPhysical: Im glad you find it funny.
Look, I love people that hold their leaders accountable. Did you read the whole article?
They did not investigate and clarify positions. The bags of rice is at police station according to Ezike. He believes he was harrassed injustifiably. Thats different from seeking accountability. We see the trait and know it to be common in Ibo. A penchant to accuse wrong person of wrongdoing before understanding the full story. The same way these autonomous villagers concluded here that the rice was misappropriated, Ibo has concluded that the bullion vans at Tinubu's on election day were stolen money from public treasury.
My brother, would you like eba and egusi as well? Ikpeazu is very generous. Lol. Stop throwing jibe at my ethnicity and still call me 'brother'. I'll also like you to to write my ethnicity properly. If you spell it wrongly again, I'll do like wise to yours. That said, the protesting people are still very correct. Whatever action that will ensure that those palliatives get to the intended people is welcomed. They weren't meant for the police hence should have galvanized the people so together they can accost the police and demand for it together. His failure to do so incriminated him. This is how Igbos understand things. You see that our reasoning is deeper than yours. At least the villagers can now demand to know why the rice is rotting away at the police station as against it being shared. See the beauty of their protest. Accountability at it's best. We'll likely hear the outcome soon. As for Tinubu, you can't defend him especially with respect to those bullion vans pix. It's absurd to even attempt it. Imagine bullion vans driving into the home of Peter Obi or Ibori; what will be the interpretation? You must slow down your hatred for Ndigbo for your own good. |

Igboid: We are strong enough and don't need Ikwerres for anything.
Are you not aware That Igbo denial in Rivers state is driven by Ikwerres.
Ikwerre Igbo hate is mortal and inbuilt. No Fulani or Hausa man caused it. If you have lived in Rumu villages in PH, you will know this.
My problem with IPOB is that you lots run away from responsibilities, you prefer to fight foreign non existent enemies than the in-house enemies whose damaging effect is more visible.
Ikwerre issue is not caused by any external forces. It might have been started by external forces, but it's currently being generated, amplified and distributed by Ikwerres. Ikwerre must be held fully responsible for their Igbo hate and every one of them, must be visited by equal measure of hate by Ndiigbo.
When we are done dealing with them, then we can look back and see how the outsiders played a role.
It's akin also to how IPoB and NK have refused to hold looting Igbo governors especially Abia state responsible for the immediate marginalization of the region by embezzling the little funds allocated to them, but are more interested in chasing Buhari and the FG.
You lots like to put the cart before the horse alot, and it's no longer looking bearable for Igbos like myself.
Ikwerre is fully responsible for Ikwerre Igbophobia and must be held fully accountable for it by Ndiigbo. No amount of blame shifting to make villains look like victims will work.
Dalu. While I agree with your statement about them sustaining the bad blood, I'll still disagree with your timing of we dishing them same treatment. It will be to our(all Igbo including Ikwerre) own loss. Do you try to understand why it's been sustained? They harbour the fear that hinterland Igbos will come and take over their political power and relegate them. This is their interpretation of the term Igbo to them. We from the hinterland have bounced back and exceeded everyone's expectation that's why the Ikwerres fear the Igbo association. Your mode of resolving the problem will worsen it. Our inclusive nature without any demands from them is been critically weighed at present among the new generation especially as economy of Nigeria is dying now. With too much suffering in the land, associations grow. If you reciprocate in kind, you're making it impossible to resolve. Was Julius Agwu not seen and accepted like every other Igbo? What about 'Wene Mighty'? Mercy Chinwo kwanu? Are these not proud Igbos? I don't even want to mention politicians from their side. Let me tell you their expectation. They expect other Igbos not to use the Igbo tag and enjoy any benefit from PH. They'll easily be convinced if you tell them that though they're Igbos, other Igbos won't participate in any politics of their territory nor seek job or derive any benefit from the association. However, they don't know that by so doing, they'll deny their own clan the benefit from the larger Igbo nation and territory. This is the bone of contention. This is why we insist on including them in our project so that when faced with that option, their eyes will open. We're more exposed than them and should respond better than the negative vibe they're emitting. Finally, that Amaechi claims to be Igbo and hence should be the choice in any political option for Igbos can't be correct. He being Igbo remains the same like other Igbos vying for the same position. What will determine Igbo consensus will be ones track record. What benefits has any Igbo vying for a post brought to Igboland in general? Ponder on what I wrote. |

Igboid: Nwanne. I disagree with you.
Ikwerre are not Igbos and must be treated as such by Ndiigbo.
It doesn't matter what our detractors do or think. What matters is what we do for ourselves.
The non Igbos are not responsible for Ikwerre or Ogba Igbophobic ways. They are even helping us bring these Igbophobes to the limelight so that we can sensitize our numerous ignorant people about them.
We lose nothing from purging Igbophobic groups (Ogba, Ikwerres and Co) masquerading behind our language and names, from us and relating with them strictly on official and non emotional basis. It's to our own benefit.
Any Igbo speaking group that turns Igbophobic is a danger to the rest of us as must be cut off and baracaded from infecting or injuring the rest of us. We can always agree to disagree.
Udo. As insignificant as they appear they're still important. Timing is very essential in everything. Trust me bro, IPOB is playing a big role which some of you don't understand. Do you notice Orji Uzo Kalu's trajectory? Do you know why Ohaneze was deregistered? They just had an understanding with IPOB shortly before the hatchet. The idea is simply the quash any point of a United front. They'll encourage individualism which they expect to work to their favour. Same old strategy. The Ikwerres fell for it; why do you want to repeat the same mistake? We should know better having been more exposed than them. See how the Southern Kaduna people are being wiped out gradually... No middle belt group is talking. Is this what you want for any Igbo clan? If the middle belt have a United front, fulanis won't dare it. Leave being emotional about their obvious tomfoolery. It's sapping your intrinsic energy already. Now, any Igbo or clan who decides to join forces with our enemies will be treated worst even than the enemy. Therefore, overlook it and focus on the bigger task. |

24SEVEN: Are you close to Nnamdi Kanu. If you are, pls tell him to stop brainwashing illiterate Igbos. One Igbo boy from Nkwerre has refused to renew his driver's license, refused to apply for National ID and has broken his voters card some years back. Recently, he needed to submit a very important form with a means of Identification and he couldn't. I really felt for him. Nnamdi Kanu made him miss a big opportunity. Same Nnamdi Kanu is chilling overseas. It's a shame. Lol. If your stories are true, then the guy is foolish. You can't destroy your present form of identification while your dearest country is yet to be re-established. Nnamdi Kanu is not to be blamed for his folly. IPOB is a just organization fighting for the liberation of the oppressed people of Biafra. We're are also open to alliance with neighbouring groups who think they're being enslaved in Nigeria. So far we've endure the killings of our members by the Nigerian government while people like you cheer them on. Everything is noted for revisit in the future. Your Nigeria is dead at present and the stench is too much but your senses have been deadened by hate. Soon you'll be the victim of the fulanis you presently cheer. How many of your likes have died so far? |

@Igboid, did you even notice that the thread has no verifiable source? Even at that, how can an unknown person who's obviously not Ikwerre warn Amaechi about his claim of ancestry? That's madness. |

Igboid: You are someone I respect. So I will stop insulting IPOB for your sake in the forseeable future.
But nwanne, Ikwerre should be dealt with by Ndiigbo, that handshake has gone up too much.
I have been on this forum since 2007 so I know that not all who claim Ikwerre here are Ikwerre. But the truth is that they all repeat exactly what real Ikwerres I have met in Ikwerreland and on Ikwerre forums do.
Ikwerres hate towards Ndiigbo must be neutralized by a highly concentrated hate from us towards them. After 50yrs of dealing with their nonsense, most of us are fed up. If you have the ears of IPOB hierarchy, try and get our message across to them. Rational Igbos can no longer tolerate Ikwerre.
It's that simple. Dalu rinne nwanna. I'm very conscious of the pitiable vibration from our Ikwerre kins and it's quite annoying yet I see it best we endure their folly. We are a blessed people and any group of people who associate with us become progressive which clever Ikwerres have noticed. Only the local and timid ones exhibit such brazen denial/ self hate. I have some of them as acquaintances and we do chat. Sometimes we speak Igbo together and I've discussed this particular issue with one of them. He's quite conciliatory and blends in with other Igbos. Another one I know even participates in Igbo soccer competition and relates well too. One thing you should bear in mind is that once faced with the bigger picture, the Ikwerres suddenly realize that the little difference isn't sufficient to dissociate themselves. They're Igbos and that's what they'll remain in the foreseeable future. You must know that what you see a good number of them display is an institutionalized denial backed-up with an oath in the shrines especially the immediate generation post Biafran war. It's not easy to just break all of a sudden. If we must unite with them, we must continue including them in our affairs despite the rejection since they're yet to officially reject Ndigbo in a plesbecite. Civil war hangover/survival instinct is really brutal. You can imagine what they're going through battling with themselves as they reject their own in the present time of peace. Any of them who leaves Rivers state quickly changes that venom because reality faces him. He may contest being Igbo but won't be hard about it. Many of the new generation are questioning this paradox I tell you. Our steadfastness will pay in the long run. I can't say everything here our enemies lose sleep just to see ways they can stop our glory. They're scavenging for everything they can use to put a wedge among us. If you bear this in mind you'll be more cautious when discussing our sociopolitical involvements here on nairaland. Politics is very deep. If you're good in board games like Chess and Draught, you'll understand what's happening in Nigeria. Some moves are not necessarily for your own plan but they're made to cause problems for your opponent. This is the concern of all these non-Igbos who create topics everyday seeking for Igbo clans that they'll encourage to reject being Igbo. Do they love these clans? No, yet they'll still encourage them. We must persevere in building our nation bearing in mind all our clans including those with identity crisis until after a plesbecite. Nigeria is dead already; her carcass is smelling at present. We remains is her disintegration which will happen so soon. Let's be on the watch out. |

Igboid: The bold is my stance. It should have started long ago. Starting with expulsion of all parasitic Ikwerre persons in Ohanaeze Ndiigbo and all Igbo organizations outside Igboland. And then open hostility to counter their hate towards us instituted.
But IPOB with their senseless Igweocha propaganda and Ohanaeze Ndiigbo who are going senile from age, are getting on the way of getting this project on track.
At least you are now getting my point.
The Igbo need a better leadership, Ohanaeze and IPOB are failed organizations who have bitter Igbophobes as members. They can't even identify Igbo interests let alone defending them. Nwanna, you're very intelligent I must say be your problem is that you're emotional and more of an idealist. You still have a lot to learn about politics especially the type at play in Nigeria. It will be wise of you to avoid insulting IPOB. You're giving riffraffs the courage to insult us. I know you didn't see it that way but it has played out in this thread. The OP is a fulani terrorist who's studying and following Igbo sociopolitical stance with the aim of creating a huge crack. You just gave him a boost to insult us further. Nwanna, were ire gi guo eze gi onu. |

Rawhumper: Nobody has come to the aid of the ibos right from Biafran war till now.
They were abandoned by other tribes, that war was fought totally by the ibos stil it lasted for 2 and half years.
Uptill now the marginalization of the ibos has been viewed by others as a good measure to checkmate the excesses of the ibos.
But time has proved and shown who the real enemy is,after the using and dumping of other tribes by these sect of people.
Remember during the war yes Ojukwu made mistakes but u have to note that we developed bombs that devastated the nigerian troops at Abagana, also fantastic weapins with limited resources we had cos of the blockades.
From this little excerpt, one can see the advancement in d economy and technology as well as scientifically of Nigeria if the igbos are given the chance.
The conflict at kadunna sometime ago was borne mainly by the ibos when there was religious clashes, the ibos have reslly been the force checkmating the physical islamization of the country.
Yes there are very wicked and sabos amongst the ibos but i bet with the leadership of the ibos,BH shall be a thing of the past and herdsmen will relocate back to their countries this i can bet.
When Gen Ihejirika was appointed,we saw how the Boko boys became silent till B said attack on Boko is attack on the North so Jonathan had to remove him.
Do your research the Officer incharge of Military equipment production like armoured vehicles, weapons,Rpgs etc is an Ibo. It was gathered there was breakthrough after Buratai removed the previous officer incharge.
Brother what am saying in essence is that other tribes must realize that their survival in one Nigeria depends largely on the Ibos survival, nobody will be safe from the Hausa/Fulani if the ibos cease to exist.
If i didnt consider you,i wouldnt have brought tbis to your attention.
This is a clarion call to wake up before this cancer turns to something invincible.
Thank you brother for raising your observations and criticisms.

Explain how igbos being in Nigeria has saved other tribes. Igbo can't even defend themselves without the support of other tribes because of their acute lack of emotional intelligence Do not waste your time on these people who quote you. Nothing you say to the credit of Igbos will make sense to them. Leave them to their beliefs and opinions. Finally, think Biafra because that's where your survival lies. Shying away from to that name simply because people like those who qouted you earlier are unconformable with it makes you vulnerable to their antics. |

Dpharisee: You mean 'repentant' Boko Haram is attacking Magumeri? Any soldier who loses his or her life or gets injured trying to arrest them will die of shock watching them getting the best treatment while he nurses his injury unattended to in a rundown Military hospital ward. Imagine 40yrs from now when young men read about the present happenings in Nigeria especially things like this. What will they think of the southerners who just watch and appear helpless. Tufiakwa! |

vicenzo: Yes! Because some of us realized long ago that these groups have nothing really game changing to offer SE in Nigeria and post Nigeria. We figured out that the more you try to argue these things with them, the more they get a feeling and false sense of importance.
We also figured out that these groups especially the Ikwerre are only going to be a liability to us as far as our long term objectives are concerned. Now I am not going to say why we think so here. But I will let you figure it out yourself.
Let me ask you?
What would Ikwerre accepting they are Igbo do for Ndiigbo?
They don't have quality human resources in Ikwerreland.
Their crude oil is about the least in quantity in Rivers state. Its meagre They don't have sea access, as you would still need to pass through Ijaw controlled rivers to get to the Atlantic from Ikwerreland. An option we already have at Obuaku Ndoki Abia state.
Ikwerre has only one modern city, PH, which is shaping into another Jerusalem, because they now share this city with Okirika, who are aligned to Izons. Post Nigeria disintegration, PH will burn from clashes between the two if they don't find a common ground. Ph on its,own is a third world city not better than what we have in.SE which we share with no one. Do we really what to be involved with Ikwerre mess in PH when we can devote our time and effort at better things?
I see nothing to gain from Ikwerre and other Igbo denials by Ndiigbo. Really nothing. If I have my way,all Ikwerre persons would all be banned and expelled from all Igbo associations, whether they accept Igbo tag or not. And open hate directed towards them as a retaliation whenever they exhibit Igbophobia, by orientation of our people towards such goal. Every Igbo clan is blessed including Ikwerres. That few quality human resource have emerged from their will tell you that they're suffering from the level of self denial. Most Ikwerres don't even have confidence outside Rivers state. This is what that self hate has done to them. Their level of self denial grew beyond what other similar Igbo clans had such that it affected their performance. They will pick up when they correct this problem. It's not all about what you can gain from them or not. They're just one clan and their shenanigans shouldn't be taken seriously. That there is Igbophobia pervasive in a good number of them doesn't mean we must just toss them away. There are still a good number that are proud of their ancestry. This is why some of us insist on still sharing the same ethnicity with them. A referendum will clear all doubts. NB: while some of us are so eager to toss them away already, some others hundreds of kilometers are very interested in them being a minority group. Think about it. |
