Yes
Power is always generated except the generating plants have issues and that is always solved with urgency sef. The quantity generated just differs seasonally, more power is usually generated during the rainy season cos there's more water to drive the turbines, but it seems we suffer power outages in Nigeria mostly during that season because of our old and weak distribution systems, can you imagine that ordinary breeze disconnected our line in ma area two weeks ago, and it took the mofos three whole days to fix after several calls and pleas.
I personally think one of the major problems we have with power in Nigeria is our bad distribution system, the personels inclusive.

Is Fashola saying that the distribution companies are the cause of unstable electricity? Is he saying that buying from generating companies will ensure stable supply to the masts? Someone should enlighten me.

Yes, it's exactly like you think, fact is that power is almost always available at the generating companies, but when the distributing companies buy power from them, they tend to ration the power in a way that will ensure they get maximum profit. It's all business for the discos.
