nuelzy:The Processor of a device[a smartphone in this case] is the brain. The processor designates different workload to different cores of a smartphone. The processor is the engine room where all activities are accessed[rom], processed[ram] and transmitted[cores]. |
Androidking:This is the problem. The tecno phantom 9 of 78k, is practically inferior to the least xiaomi phone launched this year, am talking of the redmi 8. the phantom 9 cost 78k as against the redmi 8 which costs 47k. If you can, as a smartphone user justify tecno's phantom 9 78k pricing as against the redmi 8 47k Nigeria price, then transission devices are not a composition of outdated and poorly assembled low leveled java devices being magnified as smartphones. But if you can't, kindly stop advising Nigerians to keep dumping their hard earned money into wasteful endeavours like buying a transition device when something more affordable and superior is readily available I am talking of brands like Samsung, huawei, xiaomi, lenovo and realme. |
Androidking:What you call attacking I call enlightening. No xiaomi user sees an infinix or tecno user and starts throwing stones or harmful objects at them. Xiaomi makes devices so good we that have used transission devices get disgrunted and feel burdened to never allow anyone go the transission way. I am in 2019, what year are you in? Because xiaomi is not only locally in Nigeria, but it's also present in offline stores, with more than 8 after sales service centres already installed in Nigeria, xiaomi has been in Nigeria unofficially for more than 6years, but has been in Nigeria officially for less than 2years, and the local mobile industry in Nigeria is feeling everything xiaomi. So where you get your deductions that xiaomi is not in Nigeria locally is beyond me. Tecno or infinix products are not priced unreasonably because they are here locally, tecno and infinix devices are more expensive in India than they are in Nigeria, it's so because there are persons who are still gullible enough to purchase a transission device with the excuse of it being here locally. When the truth is, there is no good product you want in Nigeria that you can't get. The prices you see on jumia are placed by merchants and sellers just like on aliexpress. When you want an official price of a xiaomi product on jumia, always look for the one being sold locally not from abroad. |
alkene007:For now, I would advice you check the slot branches in Ibadan. |
Sunnybabe:I am talking of the redmi 8, not the redmi note 8. |
Androidking:When you say "what most Nigerians will look at is Ram and storage and cameras and ba3 right (by default) people hardly check GPU and CPu.." are you implying that most Nigerians are ignorant technologically? because we on the this thread are most Nigerians and we have refused to be blinded by expensive storage devices that are being publicised as smartphones. What makes a smartphone is the gpu and cpu. Someone I suggested the Samsung A2 core to few days ago, just bought it few minutes ago, for 25100naira. And it's just 1gig ram and 16gig rom. Yet no tecno or infinix device is comparable to the Samsung A2 core when considering the price bracket, in terms of usage and productivity, even if the transission device is 6gig ram and 256gig rom. The xiaomi redmi 8 with 4/64gig is priced 47k in Nigeria and 44k on aliexpress you can't compare it to any transission device from 50-80k and not have the redmi 8 thumping it all round. It's why it's the duty of every well thinking Nigerian here on nairaland and offline, to enlighten every potential phone buyer to go for affordable devices that meet every possible standard in terms of the hard earned money they are spending on the smartphone. For every price range tecno or infinix or itel has a device, there is a better offering from xiaomi, realme, lenovo, Samsung and huawei. So don't be quick to encourage people to be wasteful because you expect smartphone users to be mindful of only the storage composition and not be worried that they are spending their hard earned money on scrabs. |
chelseamann:Now I undersit why that guy say "don't buy transission device and later come and be disturbing us on nairaland with neatly used tecno pouvir 3 air for grabs |
investigator007:The term flagship in relation to mobile technology or the smartphone industry, has to do with attributions of a particular device having the most recent and advanced technological components currently available or yet to be seen in a smartphone. Take for instance the redmi note 8 pro xiaomi wouldn't be fraudulent enough to term that device a flagship of any kind. But tecno and its marketers being deprived of an form of knowledge as concerning the words and the severity of the statement they make when advertising their outdated compositions that is absent of smart in any way. They can recklessly apply any sentence to deceive potential buyers for profit purposes, as a result, anything goes. The mtk p35 cannot even power a midrange device, let a lone a flagship of any kind. Yet the misleading title of this thread is Tecno Phantom 9: A Budget Flagship If the tecno phantom 9 is a flagship of any kind, then that phrase flagship should be renamed to overpriced storage device with poor display and outdated 32bit android system because that is what the phantom 9 from tecno is. If you think I am lying, check the whole of nairaland, you won't find 3 users of that wayward crap called phantom 9, yet it's 77k. But you will find over a 100 users of the xiaomi redmi k20 pro here on nairaland, and it's twice the price of the useless phantom 9. No be only flagship, na flugsheep. |
Babanhajiya:Alright bud. Good decision. |
Since no one has asked, let me. Op which phone did you order and received? |
Pierced:Please, Were you able to get 3G, 4G network reception in Nigeria during your use of it? Did you buy it here in Nigeria? |
osayuwamwen:So to you. Is the infinix hot 8 worth its price or do you regret getting the device? These questions are not for me, but for potential buyers who might be interested in getting the device. |
osayuwamwen:Thanks for posting the clarification images concerning the hot 8 having mtn, airtel 4G bands. But I have few questions to ask. How does a xiaomi user go back to buy an infinix device? |
There is something really funny right now. I remember years ago, as far back as 2012/2013 when the first tecno android devices were rolling out. Tecno is the only company that will put apps like opera mini, whatsapp, es file explorer among the specs and features of a phone. These apps are neither made by tecno nor are they exclusive to tecno devices. It's 2019, and infinix is practicing the same deceitful and manipulative scheme. Why should I waste my money on an outdated and dejected device like hot 8? To have access to Google's Go Files app? I can easily get much better devices at more affordable prices and simply install the app. Even better, install a much better cleaner app from the play store. Stop advertising something not exclusive to a device, it just makes the device look pathetic which it is. Xiaomi recently talked about the dust vent on the redmi 8. And a lot of people are paying attention to the redmi 8, and some techies are planing to disassemble the redmi 8 to verify xiaomi's claims. Xiaomi don't talk about the ir blaster on the redmi 8 because the ir blaster is now a trade mark on all xiaomi devices. Doogee created the pop up camera idea that is now being acknowledged by most flagship smartphone makers. Yet someone created a thread to talk about an app installed on infinix hot 8, as though it's exclusive and or its an advancement made by infinix. Close the thread for your own good. |
tafat:Even with the evidence before your eyes, in words, pictures and illustrations. You don't see any faults with tecno pouvir 3 plus? Quick question, is your phone screen blind? |
Realboygenius:If by all sort of miracles; you are implying having the basic and needful sensors that makes up a smartphone yes, it should perform those sort of miracles, or tecno should stop pricing their lowend java phones as smartphones. You can't ask to be called a lion, eat a lion's food but when there is a lion's job to do, you want to be a cat. |
gloriaunobi:Just like every company that has Nigerian to it. Airtel is not here for Nigerians but here to extort Nigerians. Its about time, we Nigerians help bring to publicity brands that are here for us, irrespective of our personal interest and profit margin. |
pappybarry:Two major things that revolt me about the transission marketing schemes. 1. They would rather stick to hardwares that have little to no advantage during the time of launching their devices just to make profit, without paying attention to the segment and functionality of the device being launched. 2. Transission holdings spend too much effort in trying to deceive potential buyers. If the energy, finance, time and enthusiasm transission burn on trying to sell their composition of outdated and wayward device to innocent buyers is spent on funding innovative researches and sponsoring creative ideas, tecno, infinix and itel would be taking the world now. It took xiaomi 2years to change the entire India smartphone economy, tecno, infinix and itel have been in India for over 4years. Guess what; the lowest earning Indian won't pick a transission device even with the airtel bundle of 1gig daily. Nay, just like every establishment that has Nigerian to it, the goal is; profit first, profit second, profit last. Who cares about anything else? To correct your statement Transission does not make devices for people in low class to feel among except when you say feel among, you meant feel among the depressed. If you are opportuned to compare any transission device of 30-80k to a device from any of these companies Huawei, xiaomi realme[oppo], vivo or lenovo. You will know that transission devices are for the ignorant and less technologically aware individuals. No one with above average knowledge of the smartphone ecosystem would spend their hard earned money on a transission device and think he/she is a budget cautious spender. Whatever you buy from transission in terms of hardware is already 4years old. If you buy a transission device today the hardware of the device is 4years and few hours old. Other companies are making phones powered by kaos[Google feature smart os] having 4G network connectivity. As usual, tecno made theirs and guess the obvious. It's on the outdated 3G network, yet it costs 9.5k on jumia, when jio phones running on the same kaos in India cost less, with better storage and chipset, while having a 4G network connection. So transission is not for Nigerians, it's against Nigerians. Anyone supporting that company has no morale right to complain about this current administration. |
TeddyKelly:Helio p22. |
spyglaxx:It is a phone but it's not smart |
hayjhay:Until this comment, I have never seen a comment so pointless and out of sought like this. Them dey talk say two devices pitted against each other na crap vs outdated you run come dey blame the spirits and ghosts wey dey talk of ram and ram size, then conclude with an ignorant and deceitful claim. Gently carry wetin dey vex you go the next compound. |
hersee:A picture tells a thousand words. Buy transission device at your peril. |
hersee:Kindly Post the sensors department |
Timileyin1234:I don't think the op is looking for phones that support those sensors, if he was, he would have asked around and did an extensive research before buying a tecno device. And yes, there are bunch of phones which support at least more than half of those sensors on that list of sensors. So you don't need to buy an extra gadget to support those sensors with an exception to transission holdings. There is a reason it's called a smartphone that's why when you are planning on getting a smartphone you must be smart enough to understand that tecno, infinix and itel are not smartphones but lowend java phones with touchscreen. |
jackest1:For you to have called those sensons trash tecno and its likes are made for persons like you. So why bother explaining the importance of something you already inclined to trash. |
Olanivalue:I can't be certain what you take or do during leisure times, but I would advise you to quit it. It's not as enjoyable if you can't control what you post online. I do care about you, so quit it. First, there is no sd chipset with 445, and if one was made, it doesn't power any device in my lists. Secondly the xiaomi redmi note 8 is powered by sd 665 the same chipset as oppo A9 2012. The redmi 8 is powered by sd 439, do us who care deeply about you a huge favor. Stop taking and typing. |
Branzy:You are worse than the previous commentators. It appears you are more clueless as regards to these devices that are being debated about. How can you say the sd 665 is outdated? Then went further to expose your inerudite nature concerning the matter by calling the chipset in redmi note 8 outdated when its the exact chipset present in the oppo A9 2012. So I ask; are you so quick to make a point you hurriedly exposed your pointlessness? |
yungsmart:Except you have kept your point unsaid all these while, while analysing other issues, then you have made your point and your point has been dealt with by me. Or you have a point you are yet to make. |
chumsfortech:Your point will only be valid over his, if you are using this device so I ask. Are you using the oppo A9 2012? |
Branzy:Let this fact dwell in you, that the xiaomi redmi 8 is 50% more feature riched, 20% more technological advanced and 30% more affordable than the oppo A9 2012. If xiaomi redmi note 8 sells for 53k, then the oppo A9 2012 has no technological authority to sell for anything less than 45k to be competitive. Because not you, or even oppo can justify why the oppo A9 2012 costs 46k more than the redmi note 8 at 53k. Or would you attempt to justify the pricing of the Oppo A9 2012 over xiaomi redmi note 8? |
chumsfortech:6gig ram at 53k. That's a flagship killer killer. The oppo A9 2012 with 8gig ram is not worth the extra 46k not in any sense. |
yungsmart:Indulge me. What gpu is the 439 using and what gpu is the 632 using and how do they differ in performance? Just to be exact. Have you seen a detailed gaming video review of a device housing the sd439 vs a device being powered by 632?. So you know, the 439 or 632 are not made for midrange or high-midrange devices expecting either of these chipsets to do well while playing heavy games means you have misplaced priorities when considering a device that is powered by these chipsets. There is a reason why lowend devices are powered by these chipsets and not midrange devices. |
