Okay let me do the usual.
The sd439 is less energy consuming because it was manufactured on 12nm semiconductor why the 632 is produced on 14mn.

The sd439 has a better architecture of big little chip arrangement with 4x1.95 and 4x1.45 cores alignment, this helps the chipset to designate proper work load according to demand. Tasks like calling, Facebooking and other less intensive tasks are executed and maintained by the 4x1.45 cores which reduces memory and energy consumption.

The sd632 has a more parallel core arrangement. With 4x1.8 and 4x1.8 cores, these core segmentation means the chipset is less memory and energy efficient, but can perform even the less demanding of tasks with high cores which enables the cores score those high ratings you found on antutu and other ratings.
But in everyday use, the 439 will do much better all round when compared to the 632.

I can go on, but when discussing about lowend devices the major focus is on battery and memory. And the sd 439 does it better than 632 or any chip from snapdragon lower than the sd636.

Like I initially stated, what worries you is the difference in figure and you confirmed it by quoting the the antutu score of both chipset then stopped there, forgetting every other aspects that makes up a good chipset.
Xiaomi is a global company, with a lot of things to consider before launching a device. The redmi 8 is coming to triple the performance of the redmi 7 by taking everything to a better level.
What am actually waiting for before I give the redmi 8 my complete support is the camera shoot out test against midrange devices powered by the sd655 and above.
But so far, I am not disappointed yet.
In fact, I will recommend the redmi 8 and note 8 to anyone, but I wouldn't recommend the note 8 pro to anyone because I personally don't see any edge mtk has over a snapdragon chipset in terms of performance and battery management.

The term hyped is used to describe an item not fitting its price. Just like the oppo A9 2012 is hyped.
The price of an item doesn't justify its performance just like the A9 2012 89k cannot be justified seeing the xiaomi redmi note 8 comes with the same sd665 that is powering the A9 2012 but with better hardware.

So the questionable should appear on the oppo A9 2012, because what makes it worth the extra 46k at 89k compared to the redmi note 8 at 53k?

The same questioner followed with a response asking how a snapdragon 855+ processor can be fast when its paired with a 3gig ram, and followed with unreasonable assertions.
Does the ram of a device limit or enhance the speed of a processor in a device? I ask you who is unreasonable and sentimental enough to ask me for an answer concerning a cunning and baseless question.

The snapdragon sd855 is a premium chipset any manufacturer who pairs it with a ram lower than 4gig ram is just underreaching and unnecessarily scandalous.

So how do I bring verified comparison of a device powered by the snapdragon sd855+ accompanied by a 3gig ram being faster than a device running a chipset of lesser quality accompanied by a 12gig ram which is the maximum ram available to a mobile device as of now?

Or you want me to do an imaginative comparison of devices not humanly possible like you have done?

You do know the redmi k20 uses the snapdragon 730 and k20 pro sd 855 but oppo A9 2020 uses sd 665 which is below the snapdragon 710, 712 before you get to the 730 on the k20?.

The oppo A9 2020 should have been better named oppo A9 2012 because it houses outdated and backdated specs.
The oppo A90 has a 6.5 inch screen, but uses an hd panel which is so inappropriate in every displaying sense.
At hd resolution, videos will appear pixelated and pictures will be dragged out of proportion looking entirely blured when attempting to be zoomed into.
The xiaomi redmi note 8 having a beautiful 6.3 inch screen would have been brilliant if Xiaomi had went with an hd panel like the oppo A9, but Xiaomi is a brand looking to tick every box available to the mobile industry requirements. Xiaomi being a careful and class oriented brand went even further, to use a FULL HD panel for the redmi note 8, guaranteeing a gorgeous display when taking videos or pictures and viewing videos or pictures

The oppo A9 2020 uses the ancient usb charging port just like crappy infinix hot 8, the washed out infinix note 6 or the nothingness camon 7 which was launched by tecno god knows when.
The Usb type B charging port on oppo A9 2012 is not only known for it's sluggish charging speed, it's also very poor when being used to transfer data from device to device or to an otg storage, don't even dare to use it for data transfer to a computer if you have used a usb type C before, because you go cry and lament at the tormenting slowness you will be greeted with.

Different people with different priorities.
Rational thinking to you might be absurd reasoning to another.

What is really important in the area of phone buying is budgeting>reasons for buying.

Your financial earnings is a major factor when budgeting for a phone.

If I buy a phone of 600k now, it might not be rational to you, because to you earning such figure and spending it on a phone is irrational.

To me. I bought the phone because my budget allows me to spend 600k on a phone once every 7 years, or 95k every year.
So you know, there are people who spend more than 600k on phone every 7 years.

Take for instance someone who buys an itel device 15k. To him/her that is a good way to spend on a phone.
In less than 2 months he spends another 35k on another itel phone because the first itel was poor all round.
In 3 months he goes for an infinix device of 45k, because the previous itel was poor in battery, charging and display.
In 4 months he dumps his infinix for Samsung of 150k because the infinix was just another regrettable buy due to its outdated components and poor assembly.

So let's calculate how much this person spent on a device due to poor choices and lack of budget management.
15+35+45+150=245k in a year.
Rationally that is wasteful to me.
But that same person if he sees my receipt of buying a device for 600k just like you, he would see an irrational individual, but he spends more in a single year, than I would in two years.

So difference between us is Budgeting.
There is no general rationality, or human rationality when it comes to phone buying.

There is only income>buget>choice.

It's a worthy downgrade for anyone wishing to go further down.
