bennyefosa19:When you say "brief period of time" how long is this brief? |
kingcolearchive:Please what does it use? I have tried looking for a said video on the use, none seen so far. |
francisisking:This is a first hand experience. You don't need to install many apps on it for it to start lagging. After purchase, the front camera will start lagging during use. We know, we know. We know. But I might be lying, so any user should prove me wrong. |
Chiemezueajuzie:Which is/are? |
Gwandana:Are you using it? |
The Internet was created to be an assistant towards getting better options for things and advertise before purchase. But due to the spread of fake news, info and misleading marketing techniques by a lot of organisations and their marketers, going for help has become an open door to people ending up wasting their money on disappointing purchases rather than meaningful buys. Take nairaland for example, here used to be a place to get better advice on all front, but due to the misleading nature of a lot of dubious entities, it's become a den of thieves and a place of weeping for innocent buyers. time to take it back. From now and onwards, if anyone suggests any device to you, your first and only question should be "Are you using it?" If the person's answer is, my brother, my neighbour, my uncle or all sorts of such misleading info is using it or has used it, then tell him or her to ask those people to come and suggest it on nairaland for you. Otherwise don't buy it. Because it's only reasonable to ask someone to spend their money on items if you would spend your money on such items. And if you will spend your money on such items, then spend it before advertising to anyone to go for it. Please everyone, be wise and let us rid ourselves of misleading miscreants. If I suggest Huawei prime or Xiaomi note 8 pro to you. Ask me if am using it. I said "if". Because I did not suggest them. |
Dlee1:You welcome bud. We have to be asking them, too many people have fallen victims to transission's wayward scheme of tricks. Their marketers won't spend a dime on their useless devices. But you see them on every thread saying "great device, awesome camera, battery is wow, smooth operation" anyone can be mislead into thinking they use it. But when in actual fact, all they possess is a lying tongue and an aura to deceive. Go to any tecno phantom 9 thread, if you see comment you go say the phone don sell finish for market. But ask for a personal info on the device, not one person go fit reply you. Because no human on nairaland dare touch that device, it's an embodiment of substandard components and outdated specifics. |

investigator007:Are you using it? |
Chiemezueajuzie:On the contrary, it's trash that's why no body is reasonable enough to buy his waste for 25k. |
knikole:The problem is the processor of the device, it's not well optimised, so little tasks can be very difficult for the phone to handle and retain. It has nothing to do with the ram, that processor with a 9gig ram will be unable to keep Facebook lite in background process. When choosing your next device, do a little research on the devices chipset and resource management. If possible, stay away from anything tecno, infinix and itel. |
zotorux:Don't be unceremoniously deceitful. The Samsung A2 core will offer 600% more value for money than that dump of zesus-knows-what itel is calling a smart device, and the last time I checked it cost 24k. While pushing people towards this door of combined waste and dissatisfaction, ask yourself this "Would I buy this phone I am asking others to buy?". |
[quote author=AliuYusuf[/quote]I will attempt to understand your burden and dare to be sentimental in this case. I was once a tecno user, in fact. No one on nairaland's early days will be foreign to my ID when the name "tecno" is mentioned. This deceitful act you are suffering right now, isn't new to tecno. In fact, if anything, it's their model of trade, if they should publicly admit so. I was among the first 100 people, if not fewer who owned the tecno r7 then, one of the reasons was because tecno officially stated in their Facebook page it will be upgradable to the android kitkat [4.4.2] from the jelly bean [4.2] it was launched with. To cut that painful story shut, if anyone still has that phone it's stuck on jelly bean. For tecno's lack of integrity I blamed mtk as not giving their chip enough room to be upgraded, until I saw a cubot device getting upgraded from one android version to a higher one, guess what it was powered by an mtk chipset. Here on nairaland, and anywhere else, I have made it my job to discourage any potential buyer of tecno, infinix or itel devices, not because I hate tecno, but because there will be more like you in future, and the only way to stop the spread of depression being cultivated by transission holdings is to discourage anyone who cares to listen to not purchase thier wayward offerings. Just to tell you how adamant and disrespectful tecno is, they ply the tecno camon 12 as housing a triple camera of 16+2+8 configuration which sums up to a total of 26mega pixels, but in actual technical fact, the helio p22 powering the camon 12 can only power a configuration of 21mp at max. So if tecno can lie about something that vivid, what else are they lying about in the camon 12? Your guess is as distressing as mine. The earnest truth is this; buying anything from the transission holdings is nothing short of plain wastage. |
Abiodunspectre:If there is any relief to be given, is it not to advise others to fall into the same ditch the op is trying to climb out from? The op is clearly a Tecno user, and might still be if tecno wasn't ran by people like you, who are unsympathetic and distant to the sufferings of others just to advocate your financial needs. Not to be plagiaris-tic in my approach, but instead of advising people to continue to patronise a brand littered with so much discomfort by her consumers like tecno, why not take a stand with the op, to stand for value and affordability even if it means losing a few bucks now, and be assured that the money of your loved ones like the op will be well placed in future purchases. |
livebyday:Are you confused or you are trying to be confusing? Are we in 2018 or 2019? Why are you posting forbes report of 2017/2018 to back a post made in 2019? |
MISTAICEY02288:These are the few reasons you won't see a device with latest android version running on 4gig ram, 64gig and uses an mtk p22 chipset. 1. The mtk helio p22 has a maximum input of 4/6gig ram and 64gig rom, which translates to extreme utilisation of the chipset mechanical power in terms of memory configuration. 2. The 720p max support of the mtk helio p22 means the chipset falls on lowend phones not even midrange like other mtk chipsets try to achieve. 3. The Ai capabilities on the device are 5% to non existent due to low resources being generated by the chipset during use. 4. The latest you can find any device using the mtk chip is between May to November 2018. 5. The second device to launch with the p22 was xiaomi redmi 6, and not even jumia or aliexpress has it in stock to sell, as it's a 1year old device with a third generation replacement already in works [redmi 8]. 6. The p22 chip only supports max rear camera mp of 21mega pixels, which no company would invest in, in this current time seeing the minimum for low-midrage devices now is triple camera configurations. So you can clearly understand that this tecno camon 12 with triple camera of 16mp+2+8 is in real life 13+2+5 and the figures being marketed by tecno in terms of camera configuration are just over exposed picture enlargement. 7. No company is as wayward as tecno, infinix or itel in the mobile industry to actually go back in time to use a chip that even the manufacturers no longer support its maintenance. 8. Tecno has no billing right to price the camon 12 higher than 30k, due to these facts; nothing is innovative about the device. No quick charge, no usb type c, helio p22 is over a year old and unlike snapdragon, mtk stockpile not maintain already produced chipset. I have no plans to buy anything transission in the near future, but I do enjoy exposing tecno's ignorance in the mobile industry. Seems to help realise they are no smartphone maker, just a featured-phone-smart maker, these reality helps them cut down price of their phones every year. If you still need more reasons as to why you won't see any latest device with helio p22 selling for 30 or less or have any prof that the details I provided above are false, please let me know. |
PhenomenalMorgan:Wickedness in nairaland places ![]() |
samueloyem19:It's clear we are not in the same planet. Which planet are you in sir? |
Jung:Too far. A snapdragon midrange chip, is 15% better than a highend mediatek chipset. There is a big difference between "manageable" and 'awesome". How this posters are trying to make manageable better than awesome with their words amazes me. Atleast the only marketing strategy transission holdings marketers had before the arrival of xiaomi were "failed CARLCAN' T" and "parts being available"... This oppo people above, I don't see their point. |
And someone will have the audacity to compare a snapdragon chip powered device to a scrap from tecno powered by the most useless mtk chip in mediatek. This is another overpriced powerbank from tecno. I like the diversity in transission holdings. Tecno [overpriced powerbanks manufacturer]. infinix [overpriced data storage manufacturer]. Itel [confused]. |
Yakade:Did you just made a reference to snapdragon 855 as not performing better than mtk G90t in terms of connectivity during gaming? Personal opinion. This redmi note 8 pro, is a failed market strategy, xiaomi shouldn't have broken the sales of the note series just to suit mtk. Even the sd 712AIE would have been a much better option than this, Never change a winning team. Waiting for the note 9 pro. |
holina:If you like have the best maintenance culture, if you use a death-on-hold device, it will not last more than 2 months, and that two months; it's guaranteed to cause you constant pain. |
holina:When you realise you have become a penywise-poundfoolish custodian, is when the reality of spending 13,500naira nine times in 6months done on you. i will rather spend 650k once on a device I can get support, repairs and constant follow up on for the next 7years, than 20k or less on a device that is dead on arrival, and be frustrated enough to keep spending that figure every 2 months. |
There are some things you don't prolong discussion on. I know this post is aiming to promote the oppo brand, and to array their motivation behind using an mtk chipset to be anything other than to make a higher percent gain by choosing an mtk chip, instead of making profit by using the snapdragon chipset. Which am willingly going to sabotage, because I hate what I don't like, and don't like cheats, especially when there are so many already in Nigeria, we can't have more. To you all claiming the brilliance of oppo because they use mtk inferior chips, tell me. Which oppo flagships uses an mtk chipset? Other than these overpriced midrange junks they are trying to shove down into the already dilapidated crapnophone mobileeco of Nigeria. Even xiaomi will feel the impact on sales of the note 8 pro due to their choice of chipset. You don't pick "okay" over "great" and expect to sweet talk people to making the same unwise and wasteful choice. |
The soon to be launched xiaomi redmi note 8 pro, was 100% on my todo list [pending the availability of funds for leisure spending], but as soon I got alerted it will be coming with an mtk chip, the desire for that device has ran low faster than Nigeria budget funds, from 100% - 21% and still going. Because when it comes to dev access, maintenance and usability, the snapdragon chip is at least 78% better than any mtk chip within its competitive range. I know you are speaking from personal opinion and a marketing strategic point of view, but if you will choose an mtk chip powered device over a snapdragon device with eyes open, then you are technologically disoriented. Mtk is still coming, I do respect their pace and grinding towards the top, but while typing this, mtk powered devices are close to crapnophone. |
stanboy28:Buying anything infinix, tecno or itel, can only be advised for the excessively rich and careless money spenders. Otherwise, its a wasteful decision to buy any of the above brand, because in less than few months you will be wishing you never did. |
Buhairy already said jobless they were. |
The simple truth is this, why other countries even in Africa would treat their customers and business partners alike with high esteem and regard. In Nigeria, customers get toss around. It's amazing how after registering your cell number and providing details such as, your name, fingerprints, mother's middle name, your facial print or passport. When your simcard gets damaged or missing, you still get to provide your national identity card, court affidavit which according to you now is now regarded as useless to mtn. My question is, why all the demands of these details when, when it becomes necessary to use them they are ignored? I have no regrets being a Nigerian, but I will say this. In the next two years, things will change, Nigerians brace yourself for impact. |
It happened to me too... I don't want to go into too much details. But if there was one person mtn didn't need to pick an offence with, that would be me. Just like a master with a puppet, I am willing to shake mtn down. |
timay:The issue tire me sir, Facebook is an American owned universe, yet na everyday court case and billion bills them dey pay over privacy of users being sold. We never hear say weibo dey court for China, or Baidu sell users details to enhance a particular party's winning chance in elections. China ban her citizens from using Facebook, whatsapp and Google apps and the world saw why when the public prosecution of Facebook privacy theft and abuse was published. Up till now, the security threat wey Trump say huawei pose, till today na only Trump and a selected few Americans dey see the threat, e no let them explain, they no get proof. Even in America court or any foreign court huawei don sue them to, them dey lose. They just wan end every competition like Facebook buying Instagram and WhatsApp just to Stunt any competitor. |
LordAdam16:That is not really a talking point, no company in any country doesn't have a link with their country of origin. That will be like saying infinix doesn't have a link to China, glo doesn't have a link to Nigeria when operating outside Nigeria, or mtn doesn't have a link to South Africa. So it's kind of aweird concepts to deliberate on. You not taking anyone seriously because they are not claiming ignorance of the Chinese companies having a link with China is actually worrisome and really disturbing. Where should the Chinese companies have links to? Cambodia or Zimbabwe? In other words, your claims so far today have been based on wrongful oriented opinion. Be open minded in any issue, because if you stare long enough the circle becomes spherical. |
