i remember when my cousin from my mother's side was staying with us; then i was about 8 .after cooking she asked me to get the plates while sitting on the kitchen stool.i brought the plates asap and while still holding them i told her i had brought the plates instead of dropping them .she askef me to place them on her head which i did! oh my God! the woman pounced on me and the plates.ewo! i still remember the beating.i even had to remind her of that beating last year..

Three sisters were reportedly burnt to death as midnight fire ravaged some shops on Friday morning in the Mechanic Village area of Oke Afa, Isolo, Lagos.

According to report, the three sisters were aged 5, 7, and 12 years and were of the same parents. Their names were not ascertained as at the time of the incident.

DAILY POST gathered that it was difficult for the girls to escape the inferno as their guardians had reportedly locked them in a shop before the incident.


Director of the Fire service, Dr. Razak Fadipe, who confirmed the incident, said efforts were on to put out the fire as two fire trucks from Isolo and Ikotun branches of the Lagos State Fire Service were seen at the scene extinguishing the fire.

Policemen from the Ejigbo Police Division were said to have removed the corpses.

The police on Monday recovered a day old baby abandoned in a carton along Adelodun road, in the Government Residential Area of Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

It was gathered that the mother allegedly dumped the day old baby at a bus stop in the area.

The baby was said to have been spotted by some residents who consequently put a distress call to the State Police Command.

A patrol team from the A-Division police team was said to gone to the scene and evacuated the baby and was taken to the Civil Service Clinic for medical attention.

A police source said, “The baby was abandoned this morning at that spot. A good Samaritan called the distress call number of the Nigerian Police, Kwara Command and a team from A-Division was sent to the place.

“When our officers got there, the fresh baby was found neatly packed inside the carton. And we took the newly born baby straight to the office and then to the Civil Service Clinic in Ilorin here where he was given medical attention.”

A source from the Civil Service Clinic said the baby is in good condition and will be handed over to the Social Welfare Department of the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

“It is sad that a lady would freely throw away the gift of the Almighty. It is one of the ills of our society. It is so unfortunate at a time when some people are praying fervently to God to bless them with a baby that their prayers have not been answered,” the nurse disclosed.

The State Police command’s spokesperson, Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the incident.
