Rescript of Laicization
Prot. N. ___________________
Father __________________, a priest of the (Arch) Diocese of _____________________, has petitioned a dispensation from priestly celibacy.
His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, after having received a report on the case from the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith on (date, month, year), has granted the request but with the following provisions:
1. The rescript has its effect from the moment of notification made to the petitioner by the competent ecclesiastical authority, and inseparably includes a dispensation from priestly celibacy and, at the same time, loss of the clerical state. The petitioner never has the right to separate those two elements, that is, to accept the first and refuse the second. If the petitioner is a religious, the rescript also contains a dispensation from the vows. Further, the said rescript carries with it, insofar as it is necessary, absolution from censures, not excepting the excommunication which may have been incurred because of a marriage attempted by the parties; it also includes legitimation of offspring.
2. Let notice of the grant of dispensation be recorded in the baptismal register of the petitioner’s parish.
3. With regard to the celebration of a canonical marriage, the norms set down in the Code of Canon Law must be applied. The Ordinary, however, should take care that the matter be discreetly handled without pomp or external display.
4. The ecclesiastical authority to whom it belongs to communicate the rescript to the petitioner should earnestly exhort him to take part in the life of the People of God in a manner consonant with his new mode of living, to give edification, and thus to show himself a most loving son of the Church. However, at the same time, he should be informed of the following points:
a) the dispensed priest automatically loses the rights proper to the clerical state as well as ecclesiastical dignities and offices; he is no longer bound by the other obligations connected with the clerical state;
b) he remains excluded from the exercise of the sacred ministry, with the exception of those functions mentioned in canons 882 and 892, §2, and, as a result, he may not give a homily. Moreover, he may not function as extraordinary minister in the distribution of Holy Communion nor may he discharge any directive office in the pastoral field;
c) similarly, he may not discharge any function in seminaries or equivalent institutions. In other institutions of higher studies which are in any way whatever dependent upon ecclesiastical authority, he may not exercise the functions of director, or office of teaching;
d) however, in those institutions of higher studies which are not dependent upon ecclesiastical authority, he may not teach any discipline which is properly theological or closely connected with the same;
e) on the other hand, in institutions of lower studies, which are dependent upon ecclesiastical authority, he may not exercise the function of director or the office of teaching unless the Ordinary, in keeping with his prudent judgment and provided that there is no scandal, shall have decided to decree otherwise as far as the office of teaching is concerned.
5. As a rule, the priest who has been dispensed from priestly celibacy, and, all the more so, a priest who has married, ought to stay away from places where his previous status is known. Nevertheless, the Ordinary of the place where the petitioner is staying, after he has listened, insofar as it may be necessary, to the Ordinary of incardination or the major religious superior, will be able to dispense from that clause attached to the rescript, if it is foreseen that the presence of the petitioner will not beget scandal.
6. Lastly, some work of piety or charity should be imposed on him. At an opportune time, however, a brief report should be made to the sacred Congregation on his performance, and, finally, if there should be any wonderment on the part of the faithful, let a prudent explanation be provided.
All things to the contrary notwithstanding.
From the offices of the S. C. for the Doctrine of the Faith, on the (date, month, year). |

anthonydunamis: During my first few months of getting filled with the Holy Ghost, I could only sense God's Presence while praying fervently in tongues. I thought I could only sense Him whenever He wanted me to. However, I now know that I can sense Him whenever I want to and that makes me enjoy our fellowship even more!
However, this life is full of distractions that can affect our fellowship with God. Different thoughts about work, family, school, movies, the environment, etc
Sometimes, when I allow myself to get distracted from my focus on Him during fellowship, I just quietly say, ‘Jesus’, lifting up my heart to Him at the same time. At that moment, the intensity of His manifest Presence hits me and I’m bathed in His glory once again.
Occasionally, experiencing His Presence could be a calm event; at other times it could get really unconventional! Sometimes, I don’t talk while in His Presence. I don’t say a word. I just curl up in a fetal position as tears roll down by face.
A few years ago, I had a really strange experience. I’d just finished ministering to one of my spiritual daughters over the phone, and His glory was all over the place; both in the room where I was and where she was many miles away! After I was through with the phone call, I remembered what Moses did in the Bible. He was already in God’s Presence and glory before he said, ‘Lord, show me your full glory’. I decided to follow suit.
With the atmosphere in my room still charged with His manifest Presence, I asked, ‘Lord, show me your full glory’.
Instantly, I felt like I had been transported into another realm. I can’t put in words the way I felt all over, inside and outside. Tears started flowing down my face. My nose was runny too, and saliva from my mouth was everywhere. I started jerking like one having an epileptic seizure. All my inhibitions, self-control and comportment were gone. I felt like I was going to burst open! The experience was so intense that I began to plead, ‘Lord, please stop!’
When it all subsided, He told me, ‘That was just a little of My full glory’.
As I write these words, I feel an intensely warm, electric tingle all over my body, from my head to my toes. This happens to me when I think, speak or write about Him. I also feel other sensations when I'm being cautioned by God, when I'm being called to 'emergency prayer' by the Spirit, when I'm feeling hurt by wrongs done against me, etc.
What about you? How do you feel when you are in His presence and glory? Please comment below. Tears just stream down my face and my left hand tingles! |

God is not stupid. You can appeal to man but stink to God That is the aspect of human endeavor he chose to give to. Appreciate and emulate good when you see it. Good to give people fish but better still it is to teach people to fish. Research has shown that knowledge is at the root of the groundbreaking and life enhancing inventions and discoveries of the developed world where you’ll still find the homeless who see nothing worthwhile in knowledge acquisition except to beg about while condemning folks who give to the cause of knowledge enhancement. |

Most yoruba men who know 'whats-up' usually avoid that title seeing the fate that befalls it's recipients. Since MKO died, only Obasanjo has actively sought that laurel and it was denied him for political reasons. Can Gani Adams bear its weight ? adanny01: Your common sense needs prayers.
Anyone who signs surety for the person he cannot produce has signed away his hard earned money and reputation. It is imaterial that the Army raided his house. As long as the army didnot officially say they have arrested Kanu, no court can free his sureties. If Kanu is dead, his death certificate will free Abaribe. If Kanu is with DSS, Army, Prison, Police or any lawemforcement withing Nigeria, Abaribe can get free.
But even if Kanu speaks on radio, appears on TV, grant interviews to news media without showing up in court, Abaribe cannot get away.
Its either the FG has Kanu or have Ababribe's 100m. That was what Abaribe signed, no going back.
When my mum signed surety for our neighbour to get roofing sheets on credit from an Igbo trader even after our warning, she was compeled by the court to pay for the roof over our neighbours head. There was no going back and the court agreed with that Igbo trader.
Its no different with Abaribe's case, dont ever sign surety for what you cannot guarantee. Let this episode teach you a vital lesson.
Modified
Let me add this definition of surety
In other words, Abaribe is legally reponsible for Kanu's obligation to appear in court and becomes liable after Kanu did not oblidge his court summons. His liability is forfeiture of the bail bonds, 100milly. Not to worry. Nnamdi Kanu appears to be suffering from PPD and won’t keep quiet for long. Saddam Hussein screamed “mother of all battles” but was smoked of a foxhole where he hid in a manner befitting the coward he was. In like manner Muammar Ghadaffi in boxers was smoked out of the gutter where he hid. Adolfo Hitler was not man enough to stand in defence of his murderous ways and committed suicide. Osma bin Laden lived behind curtains for about a decade secretly keeping his children and wives from being suicide bombers while the pant bomber was on the prowl until it was no easy day when he died by the gun he lived by. Nnamdi Kanu’s trajectory will not be any different unless he repents and recants his PPD induced utterances etched on YouTube. |

gidgiddy: What he said on his radio station is not a criminal offence. It is not possible to commit a criminal offence just by talking alone, it must be backed up by action. Sedition no longer exists in Nigerian law, it has been removed. The only thing Kanu can be tried for in terms of talking is defamation or libel both of which are not criminal matters. It is not possible to levy war or commit treason without taking up arms, it cannot be done by mere talk.
As for this so called carrying petrol and matches, where did this happen? The only time we heard about petrol and matches is from the Army. How come nobody ever heard of petrol being used by IPOB until operation Python dance? Even the Army who claimed they were attacked with petrol bombs could not show any picture of the damage caused by such. They also claimed that the found petrol bombs at Kanu's house but nobody has seen any picture of it.
If Kanu is making verbal threats, it is not enough to attack his group with live ammunition. If everyone who made a verbal threat in Nigeria was attacked by the Army, we would all be dead. This is democracy not military rule, people are not neutralised in a democracy for making verbal threats, they must be seen as taking 'credible' actions to actualising that threat. The idea of encouraging military attacks on an unarmed group just because they say things we dont like is horrible. The matter is in court and one need say no more. |

gidgiddy: It is one tbing to talk, it is another to act. Actions soeak far louder than words. Whatever inciting remarks anyone thinks Kanu made, what matters is it was followed with action. As far as Im aware, neither Kanu or IPOB has touched anyone. Until this operation Python dance, IPOB had no history of violence, infact, it was IPOB that was regularly killed.
So if the focus is on what someone said rather than what actions they actually took, then you have failed the plot.
There are many people who wish that all herdsmen did was make inciting remarks but not kill anyone, at least their loved ones might have still been alive. You clearly do not know that all his statements on YouTube amount to criminal offenses. The right to freedom of expression carries with it responsibility for what is said. What Nnamdi Kanu has said on YouTube constitutes an offense against the criminal statutes of Nigeria. Those who associate with him openly or otherwise are in Law accomplices. What would you do where a person daily parades your premises carrying a can of petrol and a box of matches with threats to burn it down? I’m sure you won’t be waiting for him carry out his threats before neutralizing him. To prevent Nnamdi Kanu from carrying out his threats is why there are offenses known as sedition, treason, levying war on the state e.t.c. Therefore he need not have carried them out before he is put on trial. Nnamdi Kanu appears to be suffering from Paranoid Personality Disorder and constitutes a very present threat to the society. His Lawyer would do well to so plead so the court can have him put away at Yaba Left. |

Throwback: I always enjoy schooling blatant hypocrites like you, who try to white wash a monster as a noble knight and revise recent history as though we have no memory at all.
Is it not the fall of democracy democracy that a man who has not earned democratic leadership will attempt to usurp the constitutional and globally recognised democratic leadership of the South East region?
Is it not the fall of law and order that a man who was currently enjoying a court mandated bail, would command his supporters, who he made sure to remind of their oath of obedience, to burn down the country if he is arrested upon the orders of the same court?
Is it not the fall of democracy that a man would hold his own opinion alone as supreme wisdom, yet refer to the opinions of others including the democratic leaders of the people he forcefully wanted to lord over, as the opinion of idiots and pigs?
Is it not the fall of democracy n that a man who is not recognised as a leader by any local tradition or national constitution or international statute, would insist that there will be no election and democracy in the SouthEast region until he is given a date for referendum?
What manner of democracy would allow a single man to establish a country within a country?
What manner of hypocrite will introduce his comments with reasons why Kanu ignored democratic paths to leadership, then claim those who campaigned to checkmate him are not interested in the fall of democracy but the fall of Kanu, when same Kanu represented a fall of same democracy with his blatant disregard of democratic engagement, democratic authority, constitution, and the judicial process. Ultimately attempting to totally remove democratic elections with a campaign of intimidation and violence that was already being dispensed on democratic candidates and their political campaigns?
What manner of hypocrite holds on to a delusional belief that a court designated terrorist group will overturn that designation at a court, the same court whose revocation of his bail was to be replied by him with genocide and a burn down of the country?
Is it not the rise of despotism that because 1 single man cannot have his way, he solicited funds to buy weapons to engage the democratic and republic state, promised to make the country worse than Somalia, and promised to effect a far reaching genocide that will leave nothing alive in the country?
Just 1 sick man who was nothing, yet was determined he would cause enough anarchy and ensure bloodshed against his own tribesmen residing outside the tribal enclave, as a means to forcefully return them to their origins. Just 1 entitled man without democratic authority of representation, but deciding the lives and livelihood of a people with democratic franchise.
If that 1 man and his terrorist group attempt to return to their treasonous and genocidal campaign, they will be put down with extreme fury and documented for the global education of other sick minds. I’m in the sincere hope he understands you. He appears to me to be on a mission to patch a ragged piece of clothing with a new one! What a sorry sight it has all turned out to be! I blame distinguished Ndigbo for not taking down Nnamdi Kanu in good time before he infected SOME Ndigbo with Paranoid Personality Disorder. Pray, how else can one explain the views of no less a distinguished personality as Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife when he posited that the NA Free Medical Service obviously geared towards giving Operation Python Dance a human face should be shunned because according to him it is a bid to inject Ndigbo to death! A telling quote from the late *Dr. Chuba Okadigbo* is aposite here- *"If you are emotionally attached to your tribe, religion or political leaning to the point that truth and justice become secondary considerations, your education is useless. Your exposure is useless. If you cannot reason beyond petty sentiments, you are a liability to mankind."* Evil indeed thrives when the good stands idly by. |
