The xr has a better battery, faster processor and a bigger screen size

The xr primary shooter is the same with the xs so the x can’t have a better camera..it doesn’t have 2x zoom but that’s the only thing..it has a better battery performance than the x and a faster processor...the x has a better screen as it’s oled while the xr is lcd.. the x has a better premium build as it has stainless steel sides while the xr has aluminium sides..the bezels are also slimmer on the x.

By now, Apple touting processor enhancements is no news to all, it's expected that the new processor be better than the previous so that's no win. Apple has the best mobile chips customized for their OS, and that will stay that way for foreseeable time. Even the iPhone 6s performs admirably with IOS 14 which just proves how well optimized the sync with OS and chip are.

The iPhone 12s design isn't revolutionary but just a mixture of iPhone 5 and the current design that began with the X series. Apple playing it safe by betting on nostalgia. And as usual, Apple fails to mention the battery size- we'll have to wait for the surgical doctors to rip it open. My guess is it might be a little less than the 11 series giving the fact that it's slimmer and lighter, meaning, expect same battery performance as the previous phones or maximum of an hour extra due to the new 5nm chip in it. Also, personally, I'm used to the notch and have no problem with it, but if Apple can make it go away, better. I understand the tech inside it but find it surprising that after 3 years since the notch was introduced Apple hasn't been able to come up with ideas to reduce it. Touch id on the power button would've been nice since face id sometimes might not be the best depending on situation.

Also, it's perplexing that Apple still can't put a telephoto camera to complete the trio in their camera lineup on phones. The iPhone 12 should all come with three cameras by now. They don't have to rival that of the pro max's but at least give the consumers flexibility of taking pics. Good thing there's night mode on the ultra wide angled and front facing camera. Apple this year is saying- if you want the best camera go for the pro max which comes at a humongous size of 6.7 inch. What about those that want the best in condensed package like they did previously with the 11 and XS series? not happy at all.

5g is good and future proof but we buy phones for the now and this here in Nigeria/elsewhere where 5g is still about taking baby steps, Apple could've added the 120hz or even 90hz screen on its phones. Android manufacturers are up at it already. I guess Apple is sticking with its good old strategy of less is more, otherwise what would be the wow factor for iPhone 13.

As Nigerians, iPhone 12 comes with enhancements that most of us won't necessarily use in the now other than camera enhancements. Speed bump isn't that noticeable except you shoot and render videos on your phone or play high demanding games and even at that, I don't see what a little less than 1 sec wait in load times is worth a problem to current users of 11 series.

if you own an 11 no need to upgrade cos 12s or 13 whatever they call it will be the real deal just like 11 was the real deal to the og X. if you see a good deal to sell your 11 and have spare cash to add the balance then feel free to satisfy your lust. If you no get bah, no go use money you don budget for something go buy iPhone 12 cos say you sef wan dey among.

Superb summation! No need getting the 12 or 12 pro versions if you already have an 11/11pro unless you really have the cash to splash on the ‘latest shiny gadget’ then go ahead and get one. I’m still on the xs model and other than the battery which is beginning to show it’s age after 2 solid years of use I don’t really see the urge for an upgrade yet.

The 7 plus is more than 4 years..the x is 3 years old already..but you won’t realise because their phones are built to last a long time.

It’s an old design..that’s the 5/5s and SE design. A lot of polls agreed that that was the best designed iPhones so Apple finally brought it back.
